Pros: The good: Very nice staff. Beautiful indoor pool and charming architecture. Comfortable beds. You cannot beat the location.
The bad: On our first night they put us in a terrible room (#105.) DO NOT ACCEPT THIS ROOM. ASK TO SEE YOUR ROOM BEFORE ACCEPTING. The room was dark, noisy, with a tiny window and a bathroom that was not air conditioned and had a window opening to the street that could not be closed! Again, be careful with the rooms because some are terrible. In the end, however, after staying in a decent room for several nights but which began to smell of sewage we were moved to a lovely room.
The other issue is that the menu doesn't change and, after several days of the same selections we wanted variety.
Overall, if you get the right room, it's an excellent hotel with very nice staff.
Pros: The hotel is beautiful. The staff is always willing to help to make sure your stay is unforgettable. The restaurant ALMA, located in the hotel, is one of the best restaurants in Cartagena. If you are going to spend time in the hotel and are with someone special, this is the place to stay. Unlike the bigger luxury hotels in Cartagena, this hotel offers a more personal/intimate service since there are only about 30 rooms! One of my favorite parts was the coconut treats that the staff leaves in your room every night, which are made in the hotel. I liked them so much, i bought a dozen to bring back with me!
Cons: There were very few down sides to our stay, but there was some pressure cleaning of the pool area being done at night until 2am, which was a bit load/disturbing. Also, there are some parts of the hotel that you have to be quite in since some guests complain about everything (the roof sun deck is one of those areas)!
Hotel Casa San Agustin is just 4.3 mi (6.9 km) from the airport and offers a shuttle (available on request) for COP 110000 per vehicle roundtrip. You can indulge in massages, facials, or mani/pedis, and grab a bite to eat at Alma, which serves Latin American cuisine and is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. 2 bars/lounges and an outdoor pool are other highlights at this luxurious hotel, and rooms offer up nice touches like free minibar items, iPod docks, and pillowtop beds with Frette Italian sheets.
The Sofitel Legend Santa Clara is a hotel filled with stories. Housed in a former convent, it offers the perfect blend of colonial architecture and French luxury. Pros: Beautiful boutique luxury hotel. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Great location in Cartagena. Amazing roof top pool!
Cons: Some of the amenities could use some updating (i.e. wood floors, gym, etc.)
Pros: Welcoming, warm staff (with special mention to Vivianna); the rooms and particularly the comfort of the bed and the amazing shower; the plentiful, delicious breakfast each morning; and the phenomenal rooftop pool. The common areas are serene and beautiful, and the hotel is centrally located within the walled city.
Cons: The concierge staff, while very responsive and helpful in advance of the trip, dropped the ball in following thru on all reservations and we missed out on a day trip to the Rosario Islands. The mishap was apparently due to a miscommunication with a former hotel employee. The hotel ended up treating us to a very nice city tour, but we were disappointed to have missed out on the island excursion. This was avoidable (hotel staff confirmed the itinerary just days before the trip); however, things worked out relatively satisfactorily in the end, and the hotel staff was very apologetic.
Bastión Luxury Hotel is just 2.9 mi (4.6 km) from the airport and offers a shuttle (available 24 hours) for USD 17 per vehicle one way. Guests can grab a bite to eat at the restaurant and visit the spa to be pampered with deep-tissue massages, body wraps, or body scrubs. An outdoor pool and a rooftop terrace are other highlights, and rooms at this luxurious hotel offer up nice touches like rainfall showerheads and espresso makers.
Cons: Hotel charged us $300 dollars upon checkout for VAT & city taxes even though we booked and paid through KAYAK!! No bill was given!! No gym, no buffet breakfast, mediocre service simple room, simple shower, nothing special except the location. Won't recommend this hotel. Go for Helton or intercontinental.
Pros: We liked everything about the Ananda Hotel, the concierge was most helpful with restaurants and getting around. We took the advice of others that had stayed there and had dinner at the Hotel, it was excellent and good value. Breakfast was included and was again excellent.
Cons: Nothing not to like.
Bar, 24-hour front desk, Newspapers, Terrace, Non-smoking rooms, Lift/elevator, Safety deposit box, Luggage storage, All public and private spaces non-smoking, Air conditioning, Designated smoking area, Sun terrace. Complimentary Wi-Fi. Business Center and Pool.
Pros: The service was excellent and the included breakfast was amazing (mostly typical breakfast from Cartagena)! Juan took great care of us during breakfast and his service was on point every day! Roberto, Jessica and another young lady (I'm sorry i forgot her name) helped with restaurant reservations/recommendations! The hotel is very intimate and well done, only 12 rooms. The rooms were great, but my favorite part was the shower (strong pressure, which feels amazing after a day of sun tanning)! The roof top pool is perfect for having a couple of drinks, while getting some sun! Loved this hotel and will return! The overall experience was more than we expected (and we had high expectations)!
Cons: Make sure you request a room that does not face the street, since the taxi's are more than trigger happy with their horns! Also, there are two night clubs across the street which will keep you up if you are a light sleeper! Guess that stayed in rooms that face the interior said that they could not hear anything!

You can take a dip in the outdoor pool, then indulge in deep-tissue massages, body treatments, or mani/pedis. Nice touches like iPod docks, MP3 docks, and comfy beds with Egyptian cotton sheets are offered up in all rooms at this luxurious guest house.
Pros: I can't say enough about how much I enjoyed this hotel. You have all the amenities you could want from a top grade hotel, paired with a friendly/warm staff who make it feel more like a boutique hotel. The restaurant on the first floor (Harry Sasson) was also great. I will definitely stay here again when I return to Cartagena!
Charleston Santa Teresa Cartagena is just 3.6 mi (5.7 km) from the airport and offers a shuttle (available on request) for USD 20 per vehicle roundtrip. Guests can grab a bite to eat at one of the 2 restaurants and visit the spa to be pampered with massages, body scrubs, or facials. There's an outdoor pool and a rooftop terrace, and rooms at this luxurious hotel get the details right with iPads and Egyptian cotton sheets.
Cons: Some rooms are smaller than others. Staff were okay with changing my room though.
Pros: Great staff and clean rooms. Location is perfect and the price was right.
Cons: It's in a great part of town but there is a good amount of noise due to the location. We're usually up early so it wasn't a big deal but not ideal for someone looking to sleep in late!
Located just 3.2 mi (5.1 km) from the airport, Bantu Hotel By Faranda Boutique offers a shuttle (available on request). Movich Hotel Cartagena de Indias is just 3.6 mi (5.8 km) from the airport and offers a shuttle (available on request) for COP 60000 per vehicle one way. After splashing around at the outdoor pool, you can grab a bite to eat at one of the 2 restaurants or unwind with a drink at the bar/lounge. A rooftop terrace and a spa tub are offered, and rooms at this luxurious hotel get the details right with iPod docks and rainfall showerheads.
Pros: No negative at all , every thing was excellent
Pros: New property, comfortable rooms, nice bathroom, expansive common areas, nice pool and solarium, excellent spa service, comfortable bed, decent food.
Cons: The hotel is far from the walled city, and the taxi situation is really bad, you have to haggle to get a decent fare, and the drivers are very rude. The hotel should have its own shuttle to take people to/from the walled city and the airport. They have a car service, but its expensive. Also, the breakfast is not very good, the food does not seem fresh, and the coffee is terrible. Service is very slow, and the servers do not seem very motivated. The hotel only has 1 restaurant that is outdoors, for a property that size, there should be at least 1 more restaurant, indoors.
Cons: still waiting on the towels I asked multiple times for .....

Pros: I liked the fact they had a travel agency to book my trips day before. The pool is huge lots of space. The pool bar is great. Great drinks. Check in was fast and they even signed me up with a hilton account for free. I asked to leave my luggage for my flight so i could do some extra stuff and they helped me with that. So i was very happy. Me and my fiancé were treated like royal. I would come back. Thank you Hilton Cartagena!!!
Cons: Didnt like that fact i got a lil hot at night. So i had to get up at night and reset the air conditioner. I asked for a late check out but they didnt have the space. The hotel was booked 100%. All around i dont have not really bad to say.
Pros: The location was fantastic very helpful staff I would definitely would come back again.

Pros: Room size, cleaning less, staff support was great!!
Breakfast was awesome!! Pool was superb and the beach front view was extraordinary!!
Cons: Beach vendors! What a pain the butt!!
They harass you the entire time while you're on the beach!
Don't accept or take anything from them, unless you plan on buying it!
Pros: I did like the breakfast every morning . They offer a nice variety of fruits and breads to go with your choice of style eggs made to order.
Cons: I didn't like the fact that the Ac was not working properly . We had two rooms in our stay and both had cooling issues.
Pros: The hotel offers great comfort. The pool next to the beach is wonderful. The breakfast was so delicious. The bedrooms are very clean and comfortable.
Cons: I didn't like the prices. It is a little bit costly the food.
Pros: I wish that they had better internet service. It either didn't work at all or was too slow.
Cons: They need to speak better English to accommodate their guests, since this is a hospitality business.
Pros: Hotel service was great. Bed was super comfortable and room was clean. There's a quick mart across the street with everything you need.
Cons: The beach wasn't relaxing at all. The vendors are extremely aggressive. They line up at your cabana and you can barely close your eyes for 30 seconds. They start massaging you and asking for money. We were there for 3 days and only went to the beach 1 day.. Stay in old town and enjoy the history and market where you go to vendors, not the other way around.
Pros: I loved the room decoration for couples done by the staff of the hotel. Also the breakfast was really good .

Pros: The hotel is positioned well, with nicely decorated rooms, the view of the sea is nice. The Lobby is poor with mildew and mold odor, I was in the 16 floor, the corridor stinks, there is a permanent smell of burnt frying oil, of fried fish, fried eggs at any given minute of the day. The same bad smell hits you when you go to eat breakfast. If you have allergies or have a bronchial issues you will get sick from this air quality. I will never recommend this hotel to anyone no ever go back there
Located in Bocagrande, this beachfront hotel is in the entertainment district and within a 10-minute walk of Bocagrande Beach and Rio Cartagena Casino. Castillo Grande Beach and Hospital Naval de Cartagena are also within 1 mi (2 km).
Pros: Pool area is fun sunning or splashing but it is large with nice views and well maintained. Rooms were good ours at the front had a lot of light. In the back not so much but in a hot climate not a problem. Common areas were fun. Every thing was clean and worked.
Cons: It is a small hotel and for the price you can not expect perfect breakfasts or fast checkin. Staff spoke english if imperfectly.

If you feel like going out at night, take a 5 minute taxi ride to the historic center where you can stroll the magical streets of the “walled city” or enjoy some of Cartagena’s finest bars, restaurants and night clubs.
Pros: The grounds are beautiful. Guest relations is beyond and above expectation.
Cons: For 4 or 5 star hotel, I expected a formal dining restaurant; I expected the mini bar to be fully stocked. I expected quality service from the housekeeping staff...returning to my room and finding no toilet paper is unacceptable....having one glass in the bathroom for a room for 4 people is unacceptable. My one and only significant complaint is with customer service and being subjected to maintenance activity on a much too regular basis.
Pros: Fit with the city - nice but elegant. Food was great, staff very attentive.
Pros: I particularly appreciated the courtesy and the generally warm and kind service staff. They were simply WONDERFUL! I, in fact want to write the management to express my appreciation and especially commend them on their staff especially those working the poolside restaurant-breakfast,lunch and dinner. GREAT SERVICE!
Cons: absolutely nothing;only that the stay ended too quickly...LOL
Cons: A/C wasn't working properly. Room was stifling. They were unable to fix it. Be weary of hidden costs on your bill. Very deceptive, had extra charge that were not disclosed up front. Do not stay here.
Cons: Wifi again was bad
Pros: Beautiful space with very friendly and helpful staff. Nice rooms with comfortable beds, but we'll remember it for the pool and short walk to the beach.
Pros: Very nice hotel, excellent service, nice rooms, very clean, in front of the beach.
Cons: The WiFi Internet connection was really bad
Pros: The facility was gorgeous, truly beautiful hotel and landscaping was great. Animals added to the experience.
Cons: Staff had a bad attitude, particularly servers and doormen even front desk people.
Pros: the pool & the staff were fantastic
Cons: The buildings are in need of repair from deferred maintanance
Pros: Restaurants, transportation, beaches, safe, beautiful clean hotel, friendly staff, buffet breakfast was outstanding, gardens around the hotel very well kept (even exotic animals). Over all a wonderful experience.
Cons: WiFi was limited and difficult to connect to. Be aware of the beach vendors who may try to rip you off (not really a hotel issue)
Cons: I was threatened by one of the employees. He also followed me around.
I didn't sleep the first night because they put me in in area next to a busy road. It was like sleeping outside next to a freeway it was so loud.
