It looks pretty and they do serve a good breakfast. Service, if you press 9 at a hotel, you should be able to get the little basics and your reception could not even provide mini size toothpaste. You have comments block on the website when making a booking does anyone look at it, it was the night of my brothers honeymoon, and I booked there because of recommendation from other families, only to feel embarrassed, that they had single beds.
location good, staff excellent, service very good. Nice and clean hotel overlooking the sea. View from the bedrooms to die for.
staff friendliness Access to internet and ironing services
it was really a nice place. bathroom a little old, but overall great
helpfulness and friendliness of staff
Good breakfast not far from Waterfront, and Table Mountain. We had a sea view from our room.Think it is was safer here at the sea front rather than staying in Cape Town city centre. Outside swimming pool was closed as we were there in the winter (July) The bar only sold bottled beer would have liked a pint of draught beer.
liked yhe view as we stayed on the 18th floor diferrent to the other accomadation, i think thats your selling point amongst many i could not get vouchers for the internet, and i have my own laptop computer and all the other hotels are free wi fi, so r50 is a bit expensive when the hotel does not have any outlay to pay when the customer has his computer
Parking facilities, security and breakfast. Service in the restaurant on the 21st Floor. One particular receptionist who seemed to have a approach.
Close to Waterfront Related to price it was good
Beautiful view, close to shops, transport, restaurants Room by the lifts was noisy. I did my booking 5 months in advance and specified that i would prefer room away from elevators witt the additional bed for 5 yo however it was not considered on arrival
The view food was not very good at the buffet food was cold and not very good value. Very noisy especially when groups staying at the hotel and singing late at night as the rooms are not very soundproof
It was a good location. The pool was nice. We arrived in the hotel and the booking was incorrect. The receptionist was so rude and kept us waiting half an hour. The room was upgraded in the end but the receptionist would be better working in a prison than in hospitality. Another girl and a male receptionist were very nice. The small middle aged woman with a fringe on duty on 16/11/2010 at 12.30 would really put you off the whole hotel. I saw her being just as rude to other people, rolling her eyes and sighing the whole time. The cost for internet use was extortionate - 8 euros!!!
not enough parking; room was supposed to be non-smoking but was obviuosly regularly used as a smoking room...smelt highly of smoke; made stay unpleasant
Its situated closed to anything shops beaches waterfront restaurants
teribly noisy! from airconditioner under window option was noise from lift !!! never again
Good location as we were close to family. Shower not ok. Difficult and extremely expensive i-net connection, only working at the central PC desk of the hotel. Elevators following their own pattern.
The view and sound of lovely Bantry Bay and the Atlantic from my room, from the Dining Room and from the deck. Convenient valet parking. Complimentary transport to and from V&A waterfront. The friendly dining room staff, especially Thulani. After a long flight from NYC my reservation could not be found despite earlier confirmation call, but problem resolved after a wait. Very noisy elevator motor intrudes in Rooms 2B and 4A even over sound of ocean waves. Bar and restaurant unavailable to guests during private function, with no excuse or comp offered. Bar service desultory.
The location. Small bathroom
Hote has a clean and fairly modern look. Hotel staff were initially friendly and service was quick and efficient. Service degraded massively for the 2nd last and last days. Breakfast service was extremely poor. You were made to feel like they were doing you a favour. Waiters spent more time setting tables than assisting guests, which is critical when the hotel serves plated breakfasts. Service was so poor on the last day that I didn't even get my breakfast!
The location and impact of the sea view. wonderfully in your face no
The location was brilliant - walking distance to Camps Bay and free shuttle bus to the Waterfront at various times during the day. The staff were extremely polite and helpful. The quality of food in the restaurant was superb. Best of all was the view from the pool terrace over the ocean especially for sunset!
Fantastic view. Nice staff, quick service. European electric sockets in the room
the view the chairs from the restaurant above our room were noisy and woke me up, the breakfast service was terrible, the bath was too small, the towels too small and not replaced and the TV had lines running thru it, we reported this but nothing was done about it. Also small DSTV boquet / selection.
The hotel had a good shuttle service which took guests to the waterfront and returned them later back to the hotel, The hotel was not on the seafront but on rocks above the sea. Therefore a walk was needed to reach the sea. There were no restaurants close to the hotel and the long walk back from the nearest did not seem safe in parts.
Breakfast, location and seaviews. The bathroom was very small. Tv's position and poor program selection.
The view from the seaside facing rooms was very nice. The bedding was comfortable. The satff was very accomodating The rooms were a bit small and the sound of the waves were quite loud even with the windows closed.
Very Professional and Caring Staff
Friendly helpful staff. Courtesy bus to key locations with friendly driver. Car park on site ( though needs booked!). Meals on front terrace overlooking road and public open space was very pleasant. Pool area nice and relaxing with complimentary soft drinks. Maintenance - the air con and a window needed maintenance in our first room and it took a lot of complaining about the over heating to get moved room. Also the female waiting staff had stained blouses which gave a bad impression of kitchen hygiene. The hotel should launder them daily and inspect regularly.
Courtesy of staff and abilty to communicate interest without sounding imposing on the client The breakfast facility closing at 10am on Sunday (noting that of Saturday closes at 10 30am). More can be managed into this activity.
I enjoid the sundownbar with the grate view on the see and the restaurant wit the insidegarden. no
It is an extremely quiet hotel - loved the old colonial style ambience.
good position for city
I loved this hotel! It's very charming, good location, and the staff are very attentive. They offer a complimentary shuttle service, which came in handy. I found all the staff to be very friendly and helpful.
From start to finish we were made very welcome and soon settled in. The bar area Harveys is superb and we had 2 excellent meals in the restaurant. Practicing the putting outside our room added to the feel good factor of the hotel!
Their shuttle service is a great asset to those who have not hired a car. In our seaview room we could not see the sea if we were sitting down, and as the bedroom relied on borrowed light from the sitting room, it was dark. Better reading lights would be great.
Wonerful location and building. Well furnished . the lounge is looking a bit worn on the swag front. Dinner at night on the 22nd Feb was poor. The table was in a draught. The wine had to be returned as more than 5 flies in the carafe. The garlic butter was frozen solid and had to be returned. The service took more than two hours and we gave up ordering any more. The sweet dish was poor. I do realise the hotel had a really busy and succesful lunch but the evening service suffered from experienced staff.
Friendly staff; beautiful food
What a wonderful experience! For the first time ever, our hotel turned out to be exactly as described on the website in every way - photos, descriptions, location, services, etc. Absolutely no disappointments or problems during our 5-night stay in Cape Town. If anything, it was even better than we had hoped for! Our penthouse suite was like something straight out of a magazine, with up-to-the minute furnishings, fittings and decor. The staff went out of their way to be helpful, and nothing was too much trouble. Our host, Oliver, gave us the VIP treatment in every respect. Their motto is 'Come as a guest, leave as a friend,' and that is exactly how we felt when we left the hotel on our last morning there. Thank you so much to all concerned! There was absolutely nothing we didn't like!
The friendly and helpful staff from security guard to the owner, we could not have been more comfortable or looked after better. The suite was from the top drawer superbly equiped and spotlessly clean. There was nothing we did not like about the hotel.
Very friendly staff, luxury accomodation - I will return to Atlantic Affair on my next visit.
Beautiful , beautiful decor !!! Good linen . Relax atmosphere. In general the hotel is superior and extremly comfortable.
Very comfortable hotel
The hospitality was overwhelming. The owner and staff could not have done more for us
Very Clean, very comfortable, very conveniently situated and very good value for money. The staff are extremely helpful and are always prepared to go that extra mile.
We stayed two nights to visit Cape Town. We had a great time in this lovely hotel! The location is very good, better than down-town CT, private parking. Although there is no breakfast in the hotel itself, you can find breakfast just around the corner. Very friendly personnel and clean and very comfortable room. There is no swimming pool, but the weather is not always suitable for swimming in Cape Town, and the city offers enough distraction to not think about swimming. So, everything was perfect!
Very nice interior Although photo's of Seapoint was shown on the webpage of the Atlantic Affair Hotel, there was no seaview = infact we had a view of the posterior of another building.
Spotless, good security. Helpfull staff. Free internet. Good breakfast at the cafe in the same street. 45 min walk (but a nice walk) to the waterfront. Two mornings cold shower.
Most of the staff were very helpful, in particular the girls at reception. The manager was very good aswell. For 5 out of the 6 days I was there there was no water at all left in my room. When I requested water at night from staff he told me "No" I dont have any and I cant get you any!!
you must clearly indicate that parking and breakfast are extras. If it was clear, I could have gone somewhere else.
An Excellent location with good road access in both directions and having visited South Africa on many occasions we are seriously considering returning to your Hotel next year
everyone was so helpful and friendly. we were never made to feel we were taking up their time. we would like manageement to know that Patrick and Navaron were particularly helpful to us we have no complaints
Everything Nothing to complain
Cleaning staff was very noisy sunday morning. Showering in the bath was unpleasant.
Friendly staff great welcome easy walking distance from La Perla easy parking both during the day and in the evening without using the underground parking
We were delighted with the welcome we received, and the helpfulness of the staff was excellent. The situation of the hotel meant that we could enjoy the delights of Cape Town, but without being in the heart of the city.
Helpfulness and courtesy of the staff. Convenient location. Easy parking outside. Bed was rather hard. Broadband speed a bit slow.
Great location...one block from the beach and promenade, restaurants and hop-on/hop-off double decker bus stop!
Beautiful hotel, pool area, spa. The breakfast buffet is excellent. The staff is incredibly helpful and attractive. There's plenty of parking and the facility is clean and hip. The rooms are perfect, including a computer in the room. Not much negative to say, as this place is great, but the pool gets overly crowded with locals buying day passes and the never-ending deep house mixes booming from the speakers get a bit mind numbing after 4 or 5 days.
View and location. Nice atmosfere Our room did not have an in suite bathroom, I did not notice it when I booked the room but the private bathroom across the room was acceptable. The tv was to small and to few channels unless I didn't know how to work the remote. We didn't mind, since we didn't stay there to watch tv but this might be a factor.
Wonderful place to stay. Great view, good location, excellent staffs, very comfortable just like at home. We stayed four nights. We'll definitely choose this place again when we visit Cape Town again.
I liked the location, he informality, the hospitality, the comfort, the people who greeted us and fed us and helped make our stay more pleasant in every way. nothing I did not like
Staff and the owners were very friendly and sincere. It was outstanding compared to other experiences I had in my life. The room was excellent. Spacious, great view and having a very nice balcony. Location is not in the very touristic spot of the city, but in between two main spots (Waterfront and Camps Bay), so the location was very good, it is located in a very beautiful district. Our overall experience was very good in that such a nice boutique hotel. If you have any expectation about the pool, it may not be satisfactory. Actually, it was not a matter for us.
The location of this guest house is superb. It is on a quiet road in a good area of Cape Town. It is easy to get to. It also has wonderful views of the ocean and Robben Island. The staff are very friendly and happy to help with any advice re restaurants which were also booked by them on our behalf. Would not think of staying anywhere else if we return to Cape Town.
The friendly staff ,the hospitality, the view and the spacious room & bathroom The TV and internet connection.
The location was great It is a rip off. Far too expensive for the service available. The hotel is under reconstruction and should be shut down.Very poor conditions and does not work as a hotel .... It is more of a cheap B&B.
Spacious room, bathtub was huge, friendly and helpful staff - always at hand for a restaurant booking/tour or any other request. Parking is in the facility itself. Strategic and safe location. The poor review submitted earlier by the mature Aussie couple doesnot do justice to this fine property.
Staff was really nice and the food was amazing.
This property and the other at Bantry Bay are my home away from home in Cape Town. The staff are genuine and helpful. The rooms are top knotch and the food perfect. The location could not be better for a morning (or evening) walk, run, rollerblade, bike! Nothing could be better....
The hotel is in a wonderful location, right across from the beach, and a bus stop for both the Municipal bus and the City Tour bus. We stayed in a Studio Suite, which had a full kitchen with a bar/counter facing the seating area, a tup/shower in the bathroom, and a king-size bed in the bedroom with fine linens and big feather pillows. We had a view of the ocean from our balcony, cross ventilation, and ceiling fans, which we did not need to use. The cleaning staff made everyting tidy and did our dishes. We were so comfortable there, we stayed three more nights! The hotel is under renovation, getting better every day. The one cautionary point is that there was a small closet behind the door that had a severe mildew problem that could be a problem for someone with allergies to mold. The cleaning staff did try to treat it with cleanser, but ultimately it needs to be removed or sealed off to eliminate the problem.
The Location was excellent There was no parking available
We felt like we were at home thanks to the warm and friendly attitude from all the staff Not at all
Great staff, transport by ridwan to and from from the lodge was excellent :) Rooms and the lodge were very thoughtfully decorated. Had the same breakfast for almost all of 5 days
Jean Claude, staff member, was super.
The location worked out very well for us. The staff is helpful and the owners are amazing. They are knowledgable and creative in their suggestions and very thoughtful and participatory in their community. Liked it all.
All the staff were super hospitable especially Anthony. They could not have done enough for me . All my needs were met.
antony local knowlodge was very good and went out of his way to make sure you had an enjoyable stay i felt it was overpriced and the photographs on the internet showed it in its best light
Staf is great. Rooms are perfect.
Personal attention by owners
Antony, the owner of Blackheath Lodge was the perfect host, obliging, informative and extremely helpful. The room we stayed in was exactly what we like, the breakfasts were magnificent and the staff were all so nice. We have already told a number of friends and relatives who may visit Capetown in the future and sung the praises of Antony and Blackheath Lodge....highly recommended. No nothing negative at all.
Very comfortable accomodation with careful attention to detail and excellent service.
Great value for money, central location close to the sea, nice comfortable rooom, very friendly staff, breakfast included and the staff was very flexible if you wanted a late breakfast, wireless internet for free. In my room there were only local TV channels and the TV reception was not that great.
Good location in Sea Point a couple of blocks away from the promenade and only 20 minute walk to the Green Point stadium. Very small room (we had room 4). No hair dryer. No baby cot (there would not be any place to put it anyway). Way overpriced.
Very clean and comfortable. Very good choice at breakfast. There is no full-time personnel on site.
Business convention at BMW Pavilion
Ronald, the manager, was extremely helpful. The hotel was quiet, just before the World Cup, so we were able to keep our room for the whole day of departure, which was very much appreciated. Late flight out at midnight.
The staff were helpful and the breakfast was delicious. One of the rooms (we booked two rooms) was rather small and directly led off the TV/common room. It therefore lacked a little privacy and it was fairly noisy with the tv.
Clean and nice environment. Friendly and very helpful hotel staff. Very well organised. Needs to provide a wi-fi zone.
It was a wonderful guest house, extremely friendly staff and great service! Highly recommended!
Owner was very helpful with advice and booking things for us
we only had one night, but loved the room and the manager was very nice
Felt very welcome and special. The luxury suite was just amazing , huge with balcony and great mountain views, huge very comfortable bed and jacuzzi bath. Just the best value for money! Fantastic outside lounge/garden area to relax. Unobtrusive management , very helpful and friendly staff, peaceful and quiet, great location - amazing find! No, they were spot on
We enjoyed our stay here!
Beautiful decor and great privacy with a view. Very inviting and Robs expertise of the area gave us great experiences at the best places. Can't think of a thing.
Location was suitable - walking to good restaurants was easy and convenient. Continental breakfasts were good, albeit exactly the same every day which was a bit tedious over a period of 6 days. The "shower room" off our bedroom was not convenient at all - inadequate fan, bad lighting, poor waterflow over basin, wet floor all over which had to be dried in order to use the toilet, basin, etc. - nothing that a showercurtain couldn't sort. Towels not changed frequently. No cable TV (poor for a 4* establishment). Other rooms were probably better - we took advantage of a winter special - probably we were put into the least comfortable room - also not good just because it was a "special".
very friendly + helpful staff, excellent location, fresh breakfast, clean rooms with air conditioning/heater
Peace and Quiet, nothing was too much trouble, very friendly knowledgeable hosts and staff made us feel very special and welcome. Large spacious rooms very comfortable beds and very close to CBD, soccer stadium, a quick walk to the beach, fantastic find ! Oh and quick free internet a huge plus ! Fantastic value for money.....
The staff were friendly and very helpful. The room was clean and the decoration was simple but contemporary. The bed was pretty comfortable, and there is free Wifi. The location was good, particularly for getting to the V&A Waterfront. The best thing is their beautifully-presented and generous continental breakfast.
Lovely rooms, great location. Great staff. The owners couldn't do enough to try and make our stay in Cape Town as amazing as it was.
Elegant and refined, simple and understated, luxurious and comfortable, with a very good and pecaceful energy : this is what Villa Costa Rose is all about ! When you are sitting in the beautiful white linen sofas in the cozy garden, by the pool, sipping on a nice cocktail, dreaming at the stars, you know you are in the right place !!! The service is discreet, gentle and efficient. Exellent value for money, fantastic room, handsome hosts, 10 minutes walk to the World Cup Soccer Stadium and slightly longer to the Waterfront, makes this an excellent location. we stayed in the supperior king which was a large spare and had a terrace which overlooked signal hill, lions head and table mountain ! Thanks for a superb experience !!!!
A true home from home, spotless, well run and very comfortable
The owners went out of their way to make us feel as comfortable as possible. Villa Costa Rose is situated in a quiet area but still close to the city centre.
Very friendly staff, flexible on our departure and arrival, very nice pool area, great masseuse on the premises poor parking slots (very difficult to park), the tv wasn't repaired properly even when asked twice, the toilet didn't flush properly, the toilet wasn't separated from the rest of the room and therefore the room didn't get properly ventilated
The staff were very helpful and friendly. Centrally located and close to beach and shops.
Amazing value for money! The hotel is beautiful (large rooms!), great location (2mins from beach - 5mins from City Centre) and amazing staff and facilities. Free parking and WIFI & the breakfast (continental) is just perfect! 10 out of 10 guys! Thank You - will definitely be back!
Modern and spacious rooms Rooms are sterile, lacks atmosphere and very noisy. Mini bar empty
That I had to be upgraded due to an issue with the DSTV in my room The shower did not have any hot water, so had to bath, also there was no coffee in the room.
The environment, people and safety. I feel relax.
We loved the quiet neighbourhood. We felt very safe there. The hotel was lovely, with a gorgeous swimming pool. The staff and owners were terrific, helping us with directions to nearby attractions as well as restaurant suggestions.
Very comfortable room and good service no
warm welcome by owner made to feel at home.quiteness of hotel and privecy of room upgraded tosuperior room without asking I felt that there could have been a greater variety of items on the cooked breakfast
The breakfast was excellent. The room was not as luxe as expected from the website. The door and chimes are very noisy when you sleep near the entrance door. The staff does hardly interact with the guests which does not give you a homely feeling. It is rather formal like a hotel and not a b&b or guesthouse.
It was easy walking distance to football stadium and was clean and comfortable and the staff were helpful and very friendly, also only 5 min walk to the tour bus stop, so ideal location for exploring cape town.
I really enjoyed my stay here. The place is located in a quiet street, very close to the sea. The room is very clean and big an includes all the facilities you need. Nice living room with wood-fire. The full breakfast is excellent...even if you are still hungry they can make you some bacon and eggs! Nothing
Great location near the seafront, comfortable, clean rooms, very helful enthusiastic staff.
It had a friendly atmosphere. The breakfast was good with a nice variety of bread. The garden was nice too. No
Raymond and his staff were extremely attentive to our needs. The breakfasts were great and the honor bar was always well-stocked and inexpensive. The guest house was only two blocks from a lovely seaside promenade.
Location Seapoint. Friendly and helpful staff
very friendly staff, excellent breakfast, clean and nice furnished room with on-suite bathroom...
We received a very warm welcome to this superb small hotel. It was clean comfortable and beautifully situated at Bantry Bay within 10 minutes drive of Cape Town waterfront. Breakfasts were delightful.
Great place but they overbooked and I had to move next door - not ideal
Amazing location and view, quite central (a couple of km's from waterfront), very nice & helpful owner, beautiful designed house, nice staff, definetely worth the money - so if you are willing to spend, do no hesitate to book!
Excellent location in Bantry Bay. Secure parking. Beatiful big house converted into a lodge. Particularly my room was large, comfortable and conveniently isolated. Breakfast was nice and abundant. Located in a residential area, you can expect the type of noises you hear in you backyard... lawn mowing, or some house improvement work. For such a large LCD TV, HDTV would be nice.
excellent, really enjoyed it ! if you go to Capetown please visit Oliver & Co at Compass House
Excellent, relaxed atmosphere - exquisite furnishings - amazing views. Hotel manager, a really nice, helpful chap but did have a bit of a downer on getting out and about and quite depressed us really but, don't be afraid -- we bit the biscuit and had a brill time! Ignore the expensive taxis, unless of course you don't want to see and feel the real culture of the place. Big tip - hop onto the red tour buses (stop is just 10 mins slow walk down the road towards Sea Point).
I loved the location and view. The house was beautiful as well as the furnishings - a little piece of heaven. Would definitely stay there again.
Nice staff. View. Room is too small. No TV. No bath robes for such price. No seating in the room.No fridge in room. No minibar for the price. Breakfast is exceedingly limited in choice. Pictures on the internet are deceiving.
Great service and food. Nice modern design of the hotel. Bed was a bit soft
From the time we arrived until the time we left we had excellent, very personal service and constant friendly and helpful attention. The decor is stunning and the hotel is spotlessly clean. The food was delicious and beautifully served. All in all it was a wonderful experience and i would definately recommend the O on Kloof to everyone.
