Pros: John was an awesome host and the value was really great. The hostel is essentially one bedroom Partments with extra beds to make it a hostel. This allows several travelers to share a kitchen.
Bent Prop Inn & Hostel Midtown is just 4.9 mi (7.9 km) from the airport and offers a shuttle during limited hours for USD 10.00 per vehicle one-way. You'll have free perks like WiFi and self parking. Also, this hostel is within a short drive of Sullivan Arena.
Pros: New decor. Wonderful staff, especially the short-order breakfast cook.
Cons: Would have liked to see the edges of the carpet in the hallways cleaned. Did mention this, and they were going to address it.
Pros: Embassy Suites is one of my favorite hotels, and the Anchorage location is no exception. The rooms are clean and quiet. The shuttle was a lifesaver. The fitness room was excellent, as was the pool. On this trip we really relied on the laundry facilities and were pleased there were enough washers/dryers so there wasn't a wait to use them or it was very little. Since we traveled in the summer, we also relied on the blackout shades. It was a phenominal experience!
The Embassy Suites Anchorage Alaska hotel is located in midtown Anchorage. This upscale hotel will be the most luxurious all suite property in the State of Alaska. The Embassy Suites Anchorage Alaska hotel is close to many corporate offices, including British Petroleum, CH2M Hill and Providence Health Care. The hotel is also within walking distance of numerous restaurants and varied shopping. The Embassy Suites Anchorage Alaska hotel features 169 rooms, either one or two bedroom suites with microwave, refrigerator, coffeemaker, hair dryer, voice mail and high-speed internet access. This Anchorage Alaska hotel features will include a full-service restaurant, bar and lounge, business center, meeting space with onsite catering, indoor pool, whirlpool and fitness center.
Cons: IT was not a full service hotel but there was a hotel across the street that owned it and you could use there things.
Pros: Nice large suite. Clean, comfortable. Good location downtown.
Cons: Hotels in downtown Anchorage are expensive, although this one was a little more reasonable than others. Room had a a slightly smoky smell when first entering ( it is a non smoking hotel). Mention to desk on check out and they said they would check it.
Pros: It's great location for my meetings and also walking distance to mall and restaurants.
Cons: Nothing, every time we stay there, we are treated great and staff always with great smiles day or night.
The Voyager Inn puts you within a 10-minute drive of Sullivan Arena. Guests can enjoy the sauna or take advantage of nearby hiking/biking trails. Rooms offer up nice touches like bathrobes and comfy beds with premium linens.
Cons: The TV never worked during the entire stay. Staff was notified and I was told that "upgrades" to the system were being made, but apparently they never reached my room. The pool/spa was also closed during the entire stay. For the price you pay here ($200+/night), one might expect better planning when doing work on amenities that travelers are paying for.
Pros: I picked the hotel because of its location, I needed to be near the Alaska native medical center but found that the room was so clean and perfect. One of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed at. The staff was super friendly!
Cons: There wasn't much to like! I wish they had more of a set schedule for shuttle service. And the morning I needed a shuttle to the airport the driver hadn't shown up to work but that's an isolated incident.
Pros: Beautiful modern design, the set up of the room was very efficient
Cons: The room wasn't entirely perfect. We were missing sofa bed cushions and a coffee maker. Otherwise, it was great!
Cons: There were no locks for the toilet or the bathroom. Apparently this is the case in all rooms (!). We stayed in a 2-bed room with other family members including children. No locks don't make sense at all. I'd not pick this hotel again just for this reason if I'm going with family again.

Pros: The rooms are large and the parking is free. The price is slightly less than comparable hotels in Anchorage.
Cons: I don't think there is a shuttle. The front desk is not there all night. Like all suite hotels, housekeeping isn't daily.
Cons: No suttle to n from airport
Pros: The building was just built earlier this year, but was already showing signs of wear and lack of upkeep. Our room was comfortable and quiet on the back side of the building. The hallways, stairways, and elevators looked like they had not be vacuumed or cleaned in a week. There was cracker crumbs on the carpet next to the bed. There were some very noisy and guest staying on our floor the slammed doors and yelled in the hall most of the night.
I will not stay there again.

Pros: All around great stay really liked the room felt like an apartment. Really easy to relax unwind have a much needed night with out kids or roomates. Staff was friendly and accomodating beds were comfortable. The pool and hot tub were a great bonus.
Cons: That i couldn't stay longer.

Pros: Friendly staff. Good restaurants and interesting shops. Good central location.
Pros: Valet parking, friendly staff, great location, clean, plenty to do at the hotel. The view from the hotel was amazing.
Pros: That you get treated like royalty for an amazing price get oysters upstairs dance the night away.
Pros: The views, service, location and atmosphere were spectacular. Understated and friendly. Could have stayed forever.
Cons: Valet parking is expensive, but very convenient.
Pros: The location was wonderful.
Cons: Both times we stayed there, about a week apart, we were given rooms right next to the elevators which ran all night long.
Pros: The hotel was nice overall and the front staff was very friendly and efficient. The hotel seemed very clean and I was always acknowledged by the hotel staff. The hotel restaurant was very good and has amazing views. I did not encounter any problems while I was there.
Cons: I thought the hotel was in desperate need of a refresh or update. The rooms and the entire hotel seemed a bit dated. I stayed on the Captains Deck and the rooms were a bit small and did not impress. The sink did not drain properly. The most disappointing part of the trip was the breakfast which was never more than like warm at best. It come from the kitchen which is far away. The breakfast had 3 warm choices and one was always potatoes that were recycled from the night before. Not sure if I would spend that kind of money to stay at that hotel again.
Pros: Very comfortable and clean. Plenty of food and shopping.
Cons: Had to pay and additional 20 dollars a day to park my own car. The hotel did not own the lot. The desk clerk filled out the passes incorrectly and I received a parking ticket. Took some arguing but I was able to get the hotel to reverse the parking charges so I can pay for the ticket.
Pros: The room was clean, the bed comfortable, and the staff was friendly. Make sure to park in the Captain Cook garage and have your parking ticket validated. We were able to walk to dinner and shopping from our hotel - nice!
Pros: Great hotel for business
Pros: Excellent fitness facilities
Convenient to downtown locations
Pros: The view from our room was excellent. The location was great as well. Within walking distance to the 5th ave. mall and lots of great eating establishments. Hotel was nice, clean and staff was very friendly.
Cons: Hotel could use some renovations. The decor in the hallways looks like it came from the 70s. The bathrooms are a little small, expecllly in the shower.

Pros: Very comfortable room. Coffee 24x7, breakfast included. Dinner snacks M-W. All rooms are connected in one building, making weather a non-issue - but they also have outdoor amenities for great weather (basketball court, grills, etc).
Pros: Two bedrooms and two bathrooms!
Cons: The pool was down for repairs?
Pros: We typically choose this hotel because of the amenities: breakfast and pool. The rooms are also comfortable for our family of four at an affordable price.
Cons: Booked a stay-cation to enjoy the pool. Never informed that the pool was closed until AFTER we checked in and then it was a nightmare to cancel reservation and rebook. If the amenities list a pool, I expect the pool to be usable and not out of commission for months.
Pros: Enjoyed having our dogs be able to stay with us and not boarded. The two bedrooms and bathrooms were added bonus. The fireplace was romantic.
Cons: A first floor room would have been more convenient for pets.

Cons: The cafe staff were really nice but something was wrong with the food there.
Pros: Location, Cleanliness and Facilities
Cons: Air conditioning was not working and I was asked to open windows and sleep. After multiple calls they sent me a fan.
They told me they will fix it next day and it is the same problem. They made me move next day to a different room. I was on vacation and expected little more from Marriot
Cons: No reward points given because it was booked online with who they call third party.
Pros: Nice place, and I travel a lot. Great shuttle service. Nice and helpful people at the front desk, thanks.
Pros: We were supposed to get to Anchorage at 12:00 noon. Our flight was bumped, and we didn't get in until 12:00 midnight. Our luggage didn't make our plane either. We got to the hotel after midnight, the staff was excellent! They were able to give us tooth brushes, toothpaste, shaving cream and razor. I can't tell you how nice that was when you have nothing more than the clothes on your back! Thanks Marriott. I'll be staying with you again.
Todd Greer, Wildomar CA
Pros: Close location to airport
Cons: Limited food options
Pros: Location was good and it had a free shuttle to and from the airport. Bed was very comfortable and had plenty of pillows.
Cons: TV was located in and odd spot so when we pulled it out to watch it while laying in bed the cable cord came undone. Bathroom didn't have a fan either so it go steamy in there right away. Shower was very spacious.
Cons: The bathroom didn't have a fan. That made me sad. The TV wasn't facing the bed either. Wtf is up with that.

Courtyard: the hotel designed by business travelers.
Pros: The location is nearby the airport but don't try to walk. It's about a 45 minute one. Bed is comfortable.
Cons: The alarm clock went off twice during the night - once at 3:00 and once at 3:15. Having flown in from 30 hours of travel from overseas, looking for a good night stay was the intention. The staff was unsympathetic and completely removed from the reality of the housekeeping blunder. Having not slept but 3 hours that night, their best offer was a gift card to stay again, stating that "We can't give you a refund - you used it, plus we could have rented the room to someone else." Give me a break.

Cons: The thin walls, rumbling cars, and aggressive hotel guests with laundry problems.

Pros: Everything was very clean, staff was pleasant and helpful..
Cons: My only issue was that the hot tub was out of order!
Pros: The comfort if the beds, the darkening drapes, friendly staff
Cons: We were under the assumption their was a free continental breakfast. It was 9$ and if you had the full breakfast it was 15$. Thought a little high for muffin and yogurt.
Pros: The best treatment as a guest. From shuttle driver desk clerk, housekeeping to the resturant employees. Truly wish I could of stayed longer.
Pros: New, updated and clean building and room.
Cons: The mattress was a little bit softer than what I liked. While I slept well, I did wake up with a back ache.
Cons: Housekeeping did not clean my room No shampoo and cream rinse left in room either days even after request Gone all day without hanger on the door and had to call for housekeeping After 6.
Pros: Atmosphere, service
Pros: Very happy
Pros: The staff was so nice and accommodating especially the restaurant staff! We will definitely be staying here again.

Cons: On the last night of my stay they never came to the bathroom to service

Cons: Some shower tile needs better cleaning,, grout lines were dark like mold
Pros: Friendly staff, hotel amenities, and it has a swimming pool and hot tub.

Pros: We spent our last night in Anchorage at the Lakefront before flying home after an extended 2 week vacation. I picked the hotel because of the location near the airport. I really wish we had stayed there longer as it was a beautiful hotel with an amazing view of the Lake with seaplanes landing and taking off. There is a bar and restaurant with great views. We didn't sit outside in the patio because of the mosquitos is the only negative. But I guess that is normal for June in alaska.
Pros: We enjoyed everything about this hotel. One of the best in Anchorage!!!
Pros: I'm an incredibly high strung guy who demands a lot of myself, so I always know when I travel Alaska that I need to be more present to the amazing geography and lower my standards on the room I'll barely spend any time in while enjoying the outdoors. I travel to Anchorage one a quarter and have noticed that the Starvrating system isn't quite the same as the lower 48 states. With that said I was incredibly impressed with this hotel for its masterful balance of Alaska heritage (complete with animals) and modern hotel amenities. No need to lower any standards, but rather super clean rooms with modern furnishings and space efficient room layout. Staff was chipper, helpful, and really jovial.
Cons: Nothing notable... However, I had an odd experience. I hydrate a lot on trips and typically go through a gallon a day. One night I ran out of water and I searched the hotel for bottled water, but there were zero options. Every single vending machine in the hotel was stocked full of soda and multiple brands of energy drinks. I ended up driving to a nearby gas station for some H2o. Not a big deal...
Cons: room to hot and front desk wouldn't provide a copy of receipt upon check out.
Cons: I was completely offended when the staff photocopied my driver's license and also took my credit card. I was told they do that (photo copy a driver's license) because of some of the actions that have taken place so they need to have this in case something happens - it creeped me out and made me wonder if I should even stay there in the first place! Are the clients so sketchy that everyone is a suspect? They claimed all hotels do that (copy the driver's license) they just don't tell you - I don't believe it - I hadn't had that happen before - I won't stay there again. The rooms were fine - this action is not!
Cons: Pretty expensive for a 1 night, no amenities stay.
Pros: Very nice and clean, nice staff, great house keeping.
Cons: Rentaviation and missing door lock hook. Too long of walk to room. Need to move location of loby
Cons: Room was not clean, too much noise from adjoining room.
All Rooms Newly Renovated! Chill out at The Lakefront Anchorage, formerly Millennium Alaskan Hotel Anchorage - the only lakeside hotel in Anchorage. Relax in newly renovated, lodge-like guest rooms.
Pros: The staff was wonderful and while the facility is dated, it was clean and smelled clean. Compared to other area hotels, the price was good and location was quiet.
Pros: In-room frig, comfortable beds with 3 pillows for each double bed, roomy, close to downtown and airport with a car, large fan in the room. It had a neat appearance with bedspreads tucked in at the corners. Looks a little better in person than the photo.
Cons: It had all clean surfaces except for some dirt on bathroom floor in the corners. But all else looked neat & clean. I still felt comfortable staying here.
Pros: owner was nice
Cons: bed not properly made so lumpy & at 2am when we finally got there we just crashed after long train ride, car rental, finding location (sign hidden-thak God I had a Garmin. It says Inn & SUites, but far from it-looks like a Motel 6 (-2). Owner says new beds and some fixing but looks like OLD interior-pink paint etc. old Sorry :(
Cons: No heat in the room despite Alaska tempuratures
Lakeshore Inn & Suites is just 2.2 mi (3.6 km) from the airport and offers a free shuttle. Free perks include WiFi and self parking. Rooms feature bonuses like refrigerators and microwaves.
Pros: Nice hotel, friendly staff, not too far to walk to anywhere
Cons: Executive lounge very crowded with not enough staff - not worth booking an exec room
Pros: I've had so many great memories here. I prefer this hotel to the Cook as the rooms are slightly larger and the decor doesn't make liberal Alaskans uncomfortable.
Cons: The rooms are smaller than the hotels in midtown, and the restaurant in the hotel are not as interesting as the other downtown restaurants.
Pros: The staff was very helpful. We are Gold members and since the Lounge is now closed on the weekend, we were given a voucher for a free continental breakfast in their restaurant. We were given late checkout, which we needed because we had a late flight from Anchorage.
Cons: We didn't like that the Lounge was closed on the weekend. It was also a little pricey. They don't have a shuttle from the airport, although it seemed that many other hotels did.
Pros: The staff was particularly helpful in getting dinner reservations and if you need it ask at the front desk to borrow an umbrella.
Pros: Enjoyed my entire stay.
Cons: No transportation from airport. Restaurants are very expensive, although the food is good.
Pros: Comfort, big bath and the view.
Cons: No small refrigerator for my insulin.
Pros: The room was great. Windows were dirty but view was great anyway
Pros: Location, staff most helpful with travel needs.
Cons: Daily room rate costly

Cons: The pool deck is extremely slippery. Both of my children slipped and fell several times.

Cons: Didn't have hot water all weekend. Front desk made excuses as to why there was no hot water. Not the front desks fault for no hot water but didn't bother to try and make the situation any better either.
Pros: Everything worked well. Comfy bed
Cons: My room (134) had a lot of noise from L street.
Pros: Room very spacious; comfy bed & pillows; good breakfast.
Pros: The room was a nice size and the breakfast was good.
Cons: When we walked into the motel, there were people sleeping on the couches in the entry way with their luggage, children running around in and out of the pool area, screaming and hollering. The pool hours didn't seem to make a bit of difference, and they put is in a room directly across from the pool.
Pros: Sale price was great! Nice breakfast. Great location
Cons: Paint peeling in bathroom. Sinks dirty. Remote battery dead
Pros: Housekeepers were good.
Cons: The internet was "down" for three of our four days there and they didn't seem to care about fixing it. Seemed to be a little irritated that I would ask when it was going to be fixed. The swimming pool and hot tub were out of order for 2.5 of our four day stay and again they couldn't tell me when it would be functional and didn't seem to care. We were there with a grandson and the swimming was one of the main reasons we selected this motel. The front desk people were nice but were young and not very experienced or helpful. I believe there is a management problem and generally a lack of customer service. The price also was too high as compared to other area motels.

Pros: Convenient location. Clean room. Pretty good wifi which is not the usual for Alaska . Bed was comfortable.
Cons: Very thin walls. Drapes wouldn't close all the way because the a/c was in the way so light was pouring in all night. Had to sleep with a pillow over my head.
Pros: It was nicely decorated as updated and very clean.
Cons: The heater/ac unit I my room ran constantly wich was ok kind of sounded like a fan but it would squeak/ chirp every so often and I had to turn music on to drowned it out. And I should just travel with my own pillows but I really hate hotel pillows that are so fluffy and soft. But it's a nice hotel and I'd stay there again.
Pros: Location is great. Centrally located, but fairly quiet.
Pros: Good central location for shopping and dining. Friendly staff. A decent breakfast included. Pool
Cons: My five year old son found an empty vodka bottle under the bed. There was popcorn, bottle caps and other debris under the bed. My wife had to borrow a vacuum from staff to finish cleaning the room.
Just as we were planning on using the pool, it was closed for cleaning at 3pm until sometime the next day so we had to use a pool at another Hilton property, an inconvenience since our room was just across from the pool but at least they did give us another option to swim.
Pros: Everything was very clean. Sheets, duvet, bathroom, countertops. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Pros: Evening front desk manager, Meagan, was extremely helpful, courteous, and professional. Not many out there can remember a clients name. Will have to be back a couple of times over the next few months and will definitely stay here.
Cons: Need to add something to breakfast bar to make it stand out. The same as everyone else's. Ran out of both regular and robust coffee at the same time and neither replaced for over ten minutes. Not good when it is sub-freezing weather.
