Hotel was centrally located by downtown and castle. Hotel was great for family of 4
the hotel was in a good location and the room was spacious, we had a sea view room with large balcony. there were some nice and not expensive eating places nearby. We had to wait to get into our room until 3pm, we were origanally promised it at 12.30pm.
Free mini bar on 5th floor (royal). Staff on 5th floor very helpful and polite, especially when room change was necessary, due high winds. Not obvious that check in for royal floor is on 5th floor. Beware of staying on 5th (top) floor, during high winds, flag poles on roof make a terrible druming sound in rooms on harbour side. Parking is not included add about euros 18 per day.
very nice hotel, rooms very comfortable, clean, large, very good breakfast
Hotel location is perfect , you may choose to go in the beach or stay in the beautifull swimming pool with a great sightseen of alicante bay ....and in the night you may choose for hundreds of restaurant or disco in the port area or in downtown which is very close ....and safe area . fare at check out was 20 euros difference from booked .
Great location, very well priced spa This hotel is in great need for renovation as things have started to rust n the rooms and the carpets are full of stains.
nearness to the beach
The location was very good as it was near to the beach and a short walk to the city centre. The breakfast was excellent and included a good hot buffet as well as a continental style breakfast the actual hotel did not provide much information for guests.
We have been travelling all over the world in 1st class hotels, the Melia Alicante is one of the best.. The Spa and pool was very cold
public parking adjacent. Helpful, bilingual staff. Located near historical sites. Room had a great view of the beach! Restaurant staff accomodated our request for smaller portions and sharing as we do not eat a lot at night as they do in Spain. None
excellent location, rooms very tidy and clean. staff was very friendly and helpfull.
position and still having smoking rooms! spa and gym unavailable
The Hotel overall was nice. The breakfast was poor and not always fully supplied. I'd not like to be there when it was busy
comfort and brand new condition
Location.. Breakfast saloon was not ok.
Clean white sheets, good location. Not a lot of information for around the area. some complimentary bathroom products would of been nice especially as only traveling with hand luggage and being a four star hotel. also hairdryer in room not working, very important for ladies.
Very friendly staff, fast checkin and check out. good central location no
Good modern hotel with all the expected facilities. In the centre of Alicante but not near the beach (no problem for us). Close to the old quarter of the city which is worth a visit. Hotel staff a bit abrupt - sometimes verging on rude.
Rooms very nice Corridor smelled stuffy
The location was wonderful, the hotel staff was very friendly and the room was great, especially considering the discount.
location very poor spa area, little balcony,
The location and the rooms arestaurant + nothing is include because the swimming pool and the fitness spa center is not in the hotel - why sercotel Spa ?
the view and breakfast
The location was great and the views were fabulous. On arrival the staff weren´t at all helpful or very happy looking. After we had checked in we went down to the spa, on enetering the spa there was no one around to help us with where to go to collect dressing gown, towels etc. Then we had to choose either towel or dressing gown which is ridiculous. we noticed that everyone entering the spa were in the same situation standing around like lost sheep waiting for someone to help. The spa itself was absolute rubbish, it consisted of a pool, jacuzzi which was cold and a tiny sauna. Would never ever stay here again, if your going for the spa experience don´t bother...!!!
The room was spacious and inviting, but the best part was the fantastic views from the huge veranda. The wet room that looked out over the sea was pretty special too.
Enjoyed our stay so much. The location was excellent in walking distance to many amenties no
A wonderful hotel. Lovely situated with sea view and just across a beatiful and chic city of Alicante. The beach is just downstairs and shopping is very close by. The hotel staff is very friendly, breakfast is very good (delicious koffie and orange juice); clean, spacious and modern rooms. Definitely going to book again. No complaints and nothing bad to say about it.
location having to pay extra for breakfast & for use of swimming pool.
Staff friendly No real bar and most facilities closed to people staying in bedrooms only open to those booking suites
the excellent location, central and overlooking the sea Set meals in the restaurant. We would have preferred a buffet. Also, there was a charge for using the spa facilities and we were expected to have sandals and swimming caps
The seaviews and overall environment. I was told that I could check-in at 1:00 so I left my luggage and returned at 1:00 however the room was not ready yet. I understand that check-in is at 16:00 yet if I was told that I could check-in at 1:00 then the room should have been ready.
Nice stuff, nice hotel, good location! Everything was perfect!
Good location, nice foyer. A pleasant place to stay for a night out in Alicante. Helpful staff (we asked for a late checkout and there was no problem and no charge), also the concierge was happy to store our bags after we checked out while we got some lunch downtown. I don't think this hotel would be classed as a 4* by Irish standards, perhaps a 3* rating? The room was small, but functional. Slight smell of damp, but we didn't spend much time in the room, so not a big issue.
Smart reception. Nice staff A bog standard business hotel - very corporate and bland.
Very clean, modern and spacious. Bathrooms excellent and breakfast very good English translation on hotel literature, menus, etc very poor and misleading. My daughter, who is now studying in Alicante university for 6 months, could offer several suggestions on how to improve the english translation. The rooms should have a small kettle and cups so that guests can make a cup of tea or coffee early in the morning when they get up or late in the evening before they go to bed
Modern Clean Hotel with Friendly staff
Location excellent for train station, shopping, dining, bars etc. Staff very helpful. Nice rooms, very little noise at night. We enjoyed our stay.
The staff at the hotel and the hotel in general was absolutely excellent. The breakfast and dinner are quite expensive and not particularly good for the price they charge.
The hotel was excellent. I cannot believe it has only a 3 star rating as by the looks and the service it was a high 4 star rating for my taste. The staff were really helpful and polite. This is from the reception staff to the room service / cleaning staff. Everyone was friendly. The hotel was extremely clean. Modern look and feel. Great location, not too far away from the beach front. Just excellent The only thing I would suggest would be for the beds to be more fixed to the floor. The floors were lovely and shiny but slided a bit. So when there was movement in the bed, the bed moved too. Not a big problem, just a bit annoying.
Everything, especially the location, close to seafront, town centre, and rail, bus and metro stations. Nothing.
Very nice hotel and very centrally placed. Great value for money. Felt like a 4 star hotel Twin beds issue wasn't made clear to us.
Amazing hotel - love it. Egyptian cotton sheets and Korres products! Rooftop swimming pool - very relaxing and chilled out. Fantastic location Lunch on the terrace a bit pricy for what it is - but easy to get a sandwich to takeaway from outlets nearby.
Just back from our stay at Hospes Amerigo. The location is perfect in the old part of town. The rooms are comfortable We really enjoyed our stay. The staff were excellent the tapas bar in the hotel was great,(the best beer in Alllicane) the staff here again were fantastic. We did not try the resteraunt but the menu looked good the tapas was excellent.overall we would definatly stay again.People complained about noise can only say we had no experience of this and people who complained should maybee not stay in a city hotel.,Again thanks to all the staff with a special mention to Sergio and Andrew. . nothing
This is an ideally located hotel, close to the beach, shops and restaurant. The room was cleaned to high degree everyday and the attached tapas bar served excellent food. The carpets in the hallways could have done with a clean.
The convenience to the sea and the pool and pool area. The restaurant and the restaurants unprofessional idiotic host.
Modern hotel and very friendly staff As a five star hotel some details are missing, room maintenance isn't done effectively and quality of services is inconstant
very friendly and quiet hotel (quiet despite it being located just in the city centre); even though we had a room to the street and promenade we could sleep blissfully and undisturbed by any noise till noon; I think Amerigo is one of the best things that could ever happen to Alicante I think the size of the roof pool was precisely quoted, though we found it a bit on the small side- great for one couple, not so great if other hotel guests want to use it at the same time too
Friendly staff slow bar service
Breakfast The air conditioning system in room 313 did not work. In spite of being told repeatedly by staff that it had been repaired, it was not possible to cool room below 23'C
quality of room
location and hotel level carpet not clean in the corridor and bathroom in the room not very clean
I have really liked the service and kindness of the staff working at the hotel bar Our room ran out of water, so we couldn't take a bath in the morning and there was no notice about it, so it was a little unpleasant.
swimming pool location - close to busy roads making access to beach awkward
Quiet Long walk from station. It was only on the second day that the found the metro very close.
Location, bar area, restaurant Pool not being open
value for money, nice facilities it took literally hours to find it
All the hotel information relted to breakfast at 07:30 on mon- fri but it didn't open till 08:00, which caused a lot of inconvienience. The food was only warm,
Fantasticly spacious rooms Good value room service Helpful staff Pool wasn't filled and we weren't notified it'd be empty
great value for money and mostly all good despite having the ' please do not disturb' sign on, a member of staff knocked and entered the room at 10am one of the mornings
Our kids were looking forward to using the pool but it was not filled. The bathroom doors kept self-locking.
The staff could not be any more friendly. They were all superb friendly & patient.I had a great time ther.
Very friendly, helpful staff. Stunning view of castle from our room which was spotlessly clean and had a fridge / mini-bar. Quiet with no noise heard from other guests or traffic. Hotel in ideal location for beach, harbour and old town. Reasonably priced. Only a minor issue but would have liked facility to make tea or coffee. We were okay as we brought travel kettle and kept milk in the fridge / mini-bar provided.
central position for beach marina and promenade no
the location and value for money
Excellent central location and very friendly and helpful staff. Plenty of restaurants within the locality. Nothing
very central location noise from other bathrooms
A central location within a couple of minutes walk of the beach, tram, bus, taxi, shops and restaurants The only problem was that we could hear a few late night revellers going past the hotel, which isn't the hotel's fault and is maybe the price we paid for having such a great location and view
Helpfulness of reception staff. The reception area is not particularly pleasant, which is a pity - all other aspects of the hotel are excellent.
The view straight onto the port and beach of alicante and castle..amazing! Also the view from the restaurant balcony. The rooms were modern and very clean. Great location, by the bars restaurants, and beach, and shops. Couldnt be a better location. Did not provide kettle and tea and coffee for room.. Only mini ar of which all was chargable! And the bar at restaurant wasnt open for tea and coffee in the morning, and the breakfast was 13 euros per person per day!!! So we had to go out. Also the beds are both single in a double room, which is annoying as they move apart, should cater for couples better.
The location as it was central the staff were very friendly, and as we went with friends the bar in the hotel was a good meeting place. although we had great time the noise from the road was noticeable plus when we stayed one of the lifts was scary as it stoped when we were in it.
The view from our room on the 21st floor gave excellent views of the coast, harbor and city. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The hotel restaurant on the 26 floor was disappointing. The only good point was the view. The food was poor and the waiters were grumpy. The room could do with improving. The air conditioners seemed to be at least 30 - 40 years old, and did not work very well. The room was noisy; this was because the rooms had stone covered contrete floors and every movement of a chair bed or door seemed to carry over several floors. Also the doors had warped over time and were impossible to open quietly. The reception staff were not always very helpful. e.g. For information about Alicante we were told to go to the tourist information office in the city
Convenient position. Staff helpful Rooms- very small. In need of upgrading
Comfortable with excellent views and good location
Central location Very noisy if staying in a room on the lower floor
Convenient locations with many shops/bars/restaurants and beach nearby. Walls were very thin so sound carried from adjoining rooms
A very convenient and central hotel for exploring Alicante. The hotel is rather old in furnishings, but is well maintained and is a 26 floor tower with only two small elevators which can prove to be a problem when busy.
location was excellent - if you want to be close to the beach, marina, shops, restaurants. air conditioners were the old type ....a bit noisy... but worked well.
very central and infriont to the beach nice view also the restaurant at the 25th floor ,very nice and good price, ithink this hotel need urgent restoration!!
Speaking from a mature couples point of view if you like golf and you are German then this is definately the place for you. However for us facilities were very limited if you do not play golf, the hotel has nowhere to go other than sit on your room patio/balcony (on which there were only 2 chairs and a low coffee table out there) and as 4 of us were staying we had to bring dining rooms chairs out to sit together (not ideal) you certainly could not eat outside. The views were great, but realistically this hotel was too far out of town for us. The restaurant was not that inspiring. Hated the shower rooms, I did not like the fact that the showers were like wet rooms so when you had a shower the water went everywhere soaking the loo your clothes etc etc. the wash basins were ultra moden a square glass cube but again so impracticable. Great if you like this sort of thing but not something I personally liked.
Nice big rooms - luxury - and breakfast We staid a night from 25. october to 26. october, and the appartment 804 had fungus groving on the wall to the room with the dobble bed.
excellent appartment good location nice breakfast
I thought the hotel was excellent location just perfect for the golfer and not too far from the motorway. Basic kitchen facilities were included but required dish cloth, tea towels as all other facilities were available.
The apartment was spacious and very well equipped The dining room was basic, understaffed and noisy. The buffet dinner was not good for the price, and there was no chilled white wine available.
The gardens, the spacious floor. I couldn't have a good shower because the warm water was missing. I saw a bug in the bedroom.
The staff were extremely helpful and kind. The management set a good standard for the staff. The accomadation was like home from home, with comfort as a bonus. All rooms were spacious and tastefully designed. Our balcony overlooked the pool and mountains. Shop would of been beneficial but we managed ok.
Beautiful quiet surroundings, excellent facilities, swimming pool, restaurant, well appointed modern suites and competent, friendly staff made for an excellent stay.
Very nice and big appartments. Prices are low.
The proximity to the golf course and the ditto to the airport. Very spacious accomodation. The directions recieved from reception regarding finding my appartment was lacking.
wifi at lobby free of charge, free minibar
Liked the executive room, very nice !
Wonderful large bath and well equiped bathroom. Also the free minibar, a lovely gesture. Lack of mirror in bedroom.
the noise the cleaners made every morning - also being disturbed by the cleaners knocking and coming in every morning, despite the fact i had the "do not disturb sign on the door"
Room, breakfast, social spaces
the design hotel approach. nice elegant modernist architecture. swimming pool on the roof. to small swimming pool. the traditional spanish arrogant staff, which you sometimes meet - like here, should be given a friendliness course.
One of the best Hotel Chains I have stayed in.
Very clean, cool atmosphere!
Staff were outstanding with any queries and always helpful on reception. Some times can be waiting a while for attention in the lounge during day.
The entire hotel has an amazing modern look. Nice rooftop pool and a place for relaxation and sunbathing. Super jacuzzi and gym. Clean rooms. Standard at a very high level of what we've been very happy! Unpleasant smell in the sauna. Lack of iron in the entire hotel. Basic English.
Brand new, clean, confortable and good location. Excellent value for money. Definitely recommendable.
Clean rooms and helpful staff Paper thin walls made for a noisy stay
The restaurant and the cuisine was appalling
going to beach and local shops and going out to resturants at night. the evening set menues at dinner hall because not much quantity and choice given , breakfast was ok.
Good only the bed is old and no television rtl 4 of holland only cnn englisch.the koffie is not good whit the breakfast.
Wi-fi not working properly. I chose this hotel because of that and final result was a complete disaster.
we did not like
The restaurant didn't offer a very good variety of food, but there were many restaurnats about a 10 minute walk away.
Authentic spanish hotel. Not a hotel for typical tourists. Always a lufeguard on duty No balcony
Very nice bathroom for the disabled
the hotel restaurant food was reasonably priced and good quality There was very little sound insulation and I was unfortunately woken up on several occasions by antisocial neighbours through the night. Also the hotel lift only starts from the 1st floor which means you have to leave the pram downstairs at reception.
Staff were charming and very helpful. As a single woman traveller, this was an important factor for me. the lift started at the first floor (not the ground) - disabled/elderly people should be warned! The restaurant was not that great and people should be warned that there are not many restaurants nearby.
The smell that was constantly present in the room (smell of old furniture).
Close to beach , room very clean and newly decorated , close to bus service and tram . Staff extremely courteous and helpful . I'm not a cat lover and found there were often cats hanging around outside the entrance , but no big deal .
Excellent staff attitude Air conditioning turned off at 11pm
nice room overlooking the sea, the room was smart clean large and comfortable, 10 seconds to the beach the hotel reception staff were very good polite and helpful, we had a minor complaint over guests in the adjoining room the staff were sympathetic and offered us another room immedatley
more english for staff
This hotel is very close to the beach
very friendly even though we had limited language with hotel staff
It is rather far away from shopping and restaurant areas, but the Tram is connecting to areas more far away,Just exellent. We were missing small refrigerator in the room.Whisch is very important to have in a warm area like there.
Decent, 4-star if you're there for business. Free Wifi in lobby Might be a little far from city center if you're looking to walk to where the action is.
It was clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful It would have been better if it had a pool
the room was spacious and confortable. The beds were good. Perhaps two restaurants instead of just the one.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Modern designed and very comfortable room. No problem with car parking.
Great hotel! Modern style, very nice room, large, clean and very convenient bathroom items. Staff friendly and helpful. We highly recommend. Not in a walking distance of anything downtown but just a couple of Kms away of the marina by car. 10 Kms away from the airport (no shuttle service)
very clean and staff were excellent the walk into town was not the best but taxi was only 5 euros
the irish breakfast that we did not expect was second to none
reeption desk very very helpful all through our stay and a really beautiful hotel breakfast --a bit pricey
There is nothing that I liked about my stay at this hotel, I stayed for 4 nights and was very relieved to check out today. I have traveled extensively for the last 30 years all over the world. If this is not the worst hotel I have ever stayed in - its certainly in the top 3. The staff were pleasant, but unhelpful. The "restaurant" was appallingly bad, it only served sandwiches, which were not good, and the twice that I was forced to eat there out of desperation the service was slow and sullen. They charge for everything, parking is extra, internet in the room is extra - and very slow, the fastest transfer rate I had when trying to download my emails was 9.3Kb, most of the time is was running at 1-3Kb - really bad. There is no restaurant within walking distance, I walked for 40 minutes to try and find somewhere to eat and eventually gave up.
Room cleaners worked extremmly hard, most of the staff spoke good english, We did not hire a car, which after staying there is a essential as we had to walk for over a hour each day to get to alicante center, would of taken 10mins in a car
Breakfast although optional (paid extra) , but very good. Short distance to highways and airport. No hairdryer in the bathroom, lack of electric kettle to prepare tea or coffee in the room.
Quiet location no kettle in room!
the hotel restaurant had very good food n/a
its very clean all good
Close to the Alicante airport. That´s why we stayed there for one night. We had an early morning flight from Alicante next morning. Big appartement. Two bathrooms ant two separate bedrooms. Beds were cleen. Bathrooms were cleen. The whole appartementbuilding was steril and boring. Not a cosy hotel to stay for a long time. It was situated in the middle of nowhere. There were many things missing in the kitchen. There was for example only 2 glasses in this appartement for 6 persons. The only reason that we took it was for that it was close to airport, and because they had spacious appartements where we could fit in with all our luggage etc.
Friendly staff Breakfast area
Hotel is close to the airport, about 5 min taxi drive. I needed accommodation for one night after our late fight, so it was perfect. It is a shame they don't have airport shuttle bus service. Our family room was very small. Breakfast was a bit basic. They have some refurbishment there, so around 9 in the morning it got a bit noisy.
As we were confined to the hotel during our stay due to illness we were disappointed that there was no food available at lunch times apart from a machine
Decent, basic, quiet, comfortable stay.
This hotel is wonderful. The staff are helpful and friendly; the breakfast is good; the rooms are clean and comfortable - the only downside is the minimal wardrobe space. Contrary to other reviews, there is wifi in the bedrooms, but no fridge. However, there is an ice dispenser in the lobby which you could use to cool cans and bottles, so there is no reason not to bring your own in from the outside. The hotel also has an evening restaurant serving Italian food at a reasonable price, so if you don't fancy the journey into town (if you don't drive there is a bus service that runs regularly into the night) it's well worth checking out. Check out at mid-day is also a lot better than most hotels. Get a room at the front is you can as you get lovely sea views, and sunrises.
Very close and convenient to the airport, very quiet, helpful staff
Excellent location and easy access to city center by car - and the free parking at the hotel is great bonus!
The hotel was a really nice one and the fascilities were just as a man would except from a Holiday Inn Hotel.
Convenient location Very poor bar service & most items on the restaurant menu were not available!!!
Ease of access from airport
handy for the airpo and a short bus ride to centre the charge for wi fi was 9 euros a day when most hotels have this service free and outdated tv system
The food in the restaurant
Breakfast should have been included in the room price - the price of 8€ was a bit expensive. The only non-smoking room available was on the ground floor and the room itself did not smell very fresh.
The hotel was very nice and had coffee making facilities in the room. It was virtually impossible to find because the hotel instructions were wrong!!! We drove around for about an hour and a half trying to find it. The exit numbers had changed on all the motorways and the hotel had not updated these on any of their literature or on the website. It was an absolute nightmare trying to find it. And it was situated too far to walk to the town centre comfortably.
very convenient, quiet, clean and about what we expect from Campanile hotels. also very easy to book on the internet and useful, in that, the staff speak very good english. disappointed that the bar/restaurant was not open for food between 4pm and 8pm, not even coffee, so we walked into town for our evening meal.
everything was fine ,clean, comfortable . no
Fairly close to city center Friendly staff Continental breakfast was poor
Very friendly staff, I arrived real early and though is was a bank holiday, they managed to check me in at 11am. Very good! And of course the free WiFi hotspot is very handy Not like is a bit strong, but not all of the staff speak english, so a bit of spanish comes in handy.
for a 3 star hotel good rooms and friendly staff the beach and city center is 20 minutes walk, but for me not a problem
Good situation - 10 minutes walk from town centre. Friendly staff. Good rates. Good service. Good evening meal Very poor breakfasts. Only 8€ but not worth even that.
Arrived early hours. no problems
cheap and close to city and airport they offer free internet, but it did not work at all - bad smell in the room
The hotel was lovely as were the staff, very helpful. It was in a nice quiet location and the hotel itself was clean, and we had a very peaceful relaxing break.
Excellent friendly service from all staff. Restaurant very good. Quiet location in a residential district. My wife has some mobility issues and there are quite a few unavoidable steps, some with no handrails. Quite small basic bedrooms - ok in summer but not for spending much time in in the winter months. These are not complaints but observations as we really enjoyed our stay there.
staff nice and very helpful rooms quite small asked for a twin and extra bed,got a double an extra bed, was ok for sister and daughter and an aunt not great for mixed sex.
The stikkies of the place, out of city remoer The beach was not very beautifull
Staff changed the room so that we had sea sight; marvelous; excellent price (around 69 euros for 2persons including a good brakfast, with real expresso); very nice view on Alicante from the balcony; nice place to spend some peaceful days little noise due to the air-conditioner
Staff were very helpful good value dinner, and rooms were very good.
The rooms were always kept spotless with clean towels every day and loads of hot water for showers. Breakfasts were good but same every day. The breakfast waiter was very nice and helpful. The dinner menu was quite fancy and not really suitable for children. Also they didnt start serving until 9.30pm I was there with my 8yr old neice and 5yr old nephew - room was a bit snug for 3 single beds but it was fine as we were out all day and beds were comfy. The walls we discovered were extremely thin. one night we were disturbed by a drunken couple in the next room. They had the tv on and were very noisy, after a long while i phoned reception, they were very quick to sort the problem. I should also mention, the kids were really looking forward to the swimming pool and we were sorely disappointed to find it freezing and in shade most of day so didnt heat up.
The hotel was very close to the beaches and situated in a quiet residential area. The staff, on the whole, were friendly. The hotel was smart but looking a bit dowdy and in need of modernisation. Staff are friendly but very little English is spoken. The location is too far out of town for most holiday makers.
location design staff room all very good menu in spanish only
The friendliness of the staff. The photos on the web do not reflect reality. There were cockroaches. The Hotel is old.
Very pleasant and helpful staff, nice view at the beach from the hotel restaurant, nice food in the restaurant with very kind staff, very clean room with ac, we come again, you get there by the taxi from the airport - price about 20 Eur which is very good
Why were there two separate beds in a double room? This seems to be the case in a lot of hotels in Europe. When you book a double room you expect a double bed. Not two separate beds.
There was no fridge in the room.
Every evening arrived different noisy childrengroup. Sometimes you thought you are in a youth hostel. When you are doing your booking, first ask if there are any children group in the same time.
I have stayed there six times in the past five years. The staff remembered me from my previous trips - the last of which was a year ago.
Comfortable and inexpensive too far to walk to town centre but Tram and Buses nearby and taxi iro
Very clean The appearance from the outside, not sure if pool was for our use but didnt ask, bar staff not good or room service.
the hotel looks very scrufffy from the outside - car parking has very small spaces and we were unable to find a space during the stay
The price was excellent and I would highly recommend the restaurant. It seemed like the staff really worked hard to make sure that customers received value for their money. This place is a little difficult to find. I had a local drop me off and even she had to drive around a little bit to find the place. If you take the tram to La Isleta and walk down the road about 1/2 a mile, you will see a road going down a steep decline off to your left. It's a little off the beaten path.
