Port Alicante Playa de San Juan

Lovely hotel and gorgeous modern, large and very comfortable room. Staff were wonderful- I was there just as the coronavirus situation in Spain escalated. Staff made us few remaining guests whilst we waited for our flight confirmations very comfortable. Certain facilities were forced to close like the local beach and restaurants and fortunately the pool area at the hotel was lovely so I continued as did other guests to sunbathe and enjoy last few days before leaving. Food selection, quality and taste was wonderful especially the roasted vegetables and tagliatelle primaveras the chef made for me once they decided to close the buffet. I would definitely go back. 5 minute walk to beach, 5 min walk to local supermarket, bus stop outside to Alicante or €10-12 euros in taxi to Playa Marz shopping centre . There’s a vending machine in the reception where you can get crisps, chocolate , water and cola drinks 24/7! There’s several supermarkets within walking distance, the Mercado is literally 5 mins from hotel and I went to an Aldi maybe a 20 minute stroll through a very nice area. Clean and smart location.

I don’t have any complaints as I thought my mini break was wonderful. Here are a couple of reflections to note for other travellers Would have liked tea making facilities in room although there is a cafe facility in the restaurant area to buy drinks- I love a large cup of tea several times a day and the little European tea cups don’t hit the sides for me!! so I bought a cheap kettle and a big mug and had some drinks that way. That’s a lesson for me for future travel! The hotel was making improvements to the pool area which was a bit noisy but they did apologise and the finished result looked really nice!

Liked the position of the hotel the staff were very nice and friendly the food was delicious and well presented

Went for a three day total break but the work and loud drilling and mess around the pool spoiled the stay for us we do feel we should have been told so we could have booked alternate hotel the gym was very poor with equipment lacking but staff and cleanliness was excellent
