The hotel is very nice. Is a little bit far from dowtown, but is too easy to go dowtown. The people qre very nice, it has a wonderful swiming pool. Everything is OK!
It has a small but relaxing swimming pool. It is a decent although a bit standardized hotel.
Nice, big rooms Long distance to the city center
Good except for the distance from city centre. The website should not state that the hotel is close to the City Centre. That's quite a stretch. The hotel itself is fine. Staff is responsive and attentive. Breakfast was good.
The room was large, clean, and comfortable. Breakfast was ample and excellent. The hotel is a substantial distance from the town of Ajaccio. It's a very long walk. However, travel by cab or by a bus is available and reasonably priced.
Very nice staff. Wonderful breakfast. Great village in the mountain but have to have car to get there and take 20 min by car from Calvi NO
excellent hotel, very well located for connection to airport. Friendly service.Close to centre of town.
Clean and new rooms. Easy to access and uncluttered view. Location is a bit off the main city.
We are a family of 4 and had interconnecting rooms. It was really great and spacious. Very clean and had several towels per person. Breakfast : varied and good. Staff was helpful. You cant hear people walking in the corridor. The swimming pool was fairly small but clean however the beach is not far. It is great if you need to catch a flight as the airport is nearby. Overall, it is a bit far from the center but if you have a car or take a taxi, it is not an issue.
The swomming pool. Prices for garage.
Closenest to port and swimming with fishes in clear sea water
good, convenient location between airport and city. decent rooms, with very nice, recently renovated bathrooms. some smaller details: WiFi is not working great, breakfast buffet is ok, but not fantastic. but generally - and for the price - this is a very good choice.
Location, friendliness of staff Breakfast was very basic
Next to the beach Poor breakfast
We stayed at the hotel only overnight on our travels around Corsica but our stay was very comfortable and the staff were great even though we speak very little French we managed to get along great with them all. We ate in the Hotel restaurant and once again it was very nice we travelled on to Italy from corsica but not find Carbonara like the one served at the Spunti De Mar. The Bury Family
hotel staff really kind, good breakfast, nice terrace with view over the city close to a big road too noisy during the night
Wonderful hotel, staff, rooms and view. Bit poor breakfast
It is very clean and nice hotel! Much better then some 4* hotels in Cannes for example. Staff very polite and nice. Rooms pretty big, toilet very clean and huge!! All in all perfect hotel for people who won't stay only in Aiaccio, but who'd like to visit Corsica. It is quite far from the city centre (45min walk)
Convenient position, near the beach
Easy to find from the airport.Car parking no problem. Check in till midnight. Good, helpful, friendly reception. Good breakfast without frills. An excellent night stop. Small bath and basic shower. Traffic noise
We stayed at Ajaccio only one night, we arrived early but they kept our luggage to allow us to walk in the city. Staff were very nice, called for a taxi the following morning. We haven't tried the breakfast but friends told us it was very good. Breakfast not included, for that price it was surprising.
Although the hotel is nicely situated if you wanna be in the center of ajaccio nothing too special about it. Extremely small room! My husband and I took turns to get ready since we couldn't move at the same time.
Parking possible;central position;quiet,clean
Good location, close to the port and shops. Air conditioned room.
Easy to find. Parking was not available (at all!) for two expensive motorcycles; the bar was not open - asking for some drinks at reception, we could have beer or wine, no gin and tonic.
Friendly staff, location was good, and rooms were an adequate size No English speaking TV channel, no shower curtain, was a little expensive for the basic facilities provided, and Breakfast charged extra
Nice hotel; central, good rooms, very helpful staff. Can't say a word against it :-)
We stayed there for one night. The staff was very helpful and flexible, although we missed the first night after missing a ferry from Nice and checked in late on the second day. The rooms were very clean and comfortable.
Staff was extremely helpful and knowledgeable when it came to shopping and restaurant recommendations. Room was extremely small. AC did not work. Areas of the room were in disrepair, especially bathroom. Would not consider this to be a three star hotel.
Convenient for city centre and port. Just off busy road so fairly quiet.
The hotel is in a great position overlooking the sea and close to several beautiful beaches. However, the rooms and facities are very basic and they are in need of a real overhaul. Breakfast and food in general was over priced. Bt good value for money, especially the air conditioning!
Price Very basic room, just located above the lobby
Only the view run down condition of the complex
great location right on the beach, lovely pool and outside terrace for breakfast. Good food and nice lounge area. friendly helpful staff. bedroom a little dated and damp in the bathroom with very limited towel rail space to put wet swim stuff and towels. heated towel rail and or hook on back of door would help.
The view from the room was good. It was clean and comfortable and the staff were helpful. The pool was nice. It was easy to find. Ajaccio was busier than expected.
Good view of harbour. On busy road but far off so no noise disturbance. Restaurant open till late (11.00 pm) for late comers. Comfy bed and pillows - wonderful. Separate toilet from bathroom - good. We were in an apartment: fridge noisy overnight with bedroom door open. Didn't require as large a dishwasheras supplied, a slimline would have sufficed. Would like to have had a grill of sorts for toast main meals. A vegetable/paring knife would have been useful. With the size of pans supplied difficult to get two at anyone time onto the hob. The cleaning pack was wonderful but the washing up sample should have been bigger, or more supplied.
Central location, friendly and professional staff. Quiet and relaxed atmosphere. Very difficult parking conditions. Also, hotel guranteed parking in their confirmation note, but was unable to deliver this in 1 out of 4 nights. This forced us to park in one of the side streets which seemed fairly risky (as compensation the hotel gave us 1 night free parking as).
Location of the hotel
We did not have to spend another night in that mausoleum. No bath, no bidet, no radio, very small room, depressing black interior decoration. No control over TV alarm.
Hotel staff is one of the best in France. When we asked to be changed rooms because of noise, they acted immediately and tried to fulfil our expectations. They were very interested in us having a great experience at the hotel. Also, the downstaris bar is excellent, with live music durig the summer. The hotel location is very good, close to the old sites, the main beach and restaurants. The breakfast is absolutly overpriced for a place like Corsica. There hundreds of places around the hotel to have breakfast or eat for 20% of the price. Not all rooms under the same categorie offer the same features. So ask to be shown the room before taking it.
The price of the breakfirst (19 €) ! it is not justify !
Centrally placed in town, parking facilities, very nice decoration of hotel Staff (desk) slow and not service minded
A contemporary style that suits perfectly to this Renaissance Mansion... Great thanks to the staff for their welcome and advices...
very nice hotel room a bit small. hotel in a small street and no help from the staff when you arrive with a car.
The staff were very helpful and pleasant. There is a lovely open courtyard where breakfast and drinks from the bar are served. There is not restaurant for dinner, however there are many restaurants in the area around the hotel, so this is not a problem
Excellent location, superior decoration and design, excellent value.
Very friendly, accomodating staff, great location, nice view of Ajaccio Bay and an open food market every day in front of the hotel! Small but normal size rooms for the area. Highly recommend!
Central position No
Fantastic Location, Great Staff helpful and polite, lovely room can't fault it I'm afraid! n/a
The location is good. The rooms are very small and dark, and very poorly furnished. Although the bathroom was good for it's size, it looked new. But overall, totally overrated and a ripoff compared to other 3stars on the island. It pales into insignificance against the likes of Best Western Hotels of the same grade, yet cheaper or at least better rooms. I would not recommend this hotel at all.
Placed in the center (close to the ort) Vue to see very limitted from 2nd, floor - and not able to sit on the balcony.
The reception staff were charming and welcoming and the breakfast a good choice. Near the station and bus stop for the airport. The flies on the food at the breakfast bar were a bit off-putting! Why could it not be covered?? The heating in the room could have been better organised. When I was there the weather was wet and cold but there was no real warmth. Building noise during the day was irritating.A long way from the Old Town.
Close to city centre and port
Clean and smart bathroom. Relative convenience for walking round the city, and accessing from main road. Good tv package. Lack of restaurant, not even coffee machine. No refreshments in room. Noisy, if ventilation preferred, besides main road.
The view on the harbor The elevator was broken…
The staff was kind and helpfull. The room was clean and pleasent. In a convenient place in town.
The parking is safe and the breakfast is good. In my opinion it is kind of overpriced for a 3* Hotel but then again you don’t have that much choises in Ajaccio.
The hotel overlooked the port, was very clean, the beds very comfortable, the rooms quiet and a good size, and it was very close to the main part of the old city as well as the gare routiere and the boats that ply between France and Corsica. Staff were friendly and helpful and it had it's own secure parking (6 euros) although I was able to get good parking in the street nearby. Plenty of cafes and shops nearby for anything you needed. Wifi was also available. Didn't have jug in the room for late night/early morning drink (but this is common in French hotels)
Position near rail station and town and helpful staff. No
The front desk staff (I arrived at 9PM) were very helpful and aided me with small details like getting bottled water and setting up my internet needs so I could settle in quickly and get some rest. As a general rule, Corsicans are very pleasant and helpful, but the hotel staff had a little extra helpfulness in their attitude and I appreciated it. My room was modern, comfortable and clean. As stated above the location was NOT special, but being near to the rail station and ferry port helped me coming and going. I arrived by rail and departed by ferry and the Mercure was a fairly priced and well situated hotel for my single over-nite, quick in&out needs. I am an American senior traveling for pleasure, but I could also see this was a fair priced international businessman's hotel.
Very attractive outlook over the sea. Good facilities.
Very nice hotel, standing on the coastline, but by having its own beach, little garden and terrase with pretty seaview, staying there feel like being far away from town. Simple, but very pleasant room with big bathroom and french window (street view). Free Wi-fi was only in the lobby and on terrase - signal was not enough to catch it in the room.
fantastic views and friendly anhelpful staff none
Good location by bay/beach; nice, though not large, swimming pool; pleasant room with character; good, modern bathroom; helpful staff; generally peaceful, relaxing atmosphere Lack of restaurant/cooked food is a problem, given location out of town centre, particularly out of season when local restaurants are limited.
Nice setting by the seaside.
Very friendly staff. Very welcoming hotel. Stayed in (infamous) Room 22. Own patio very nice but not sure how this would work with guests in adjacent Room 23. (Understand owner places visitors working for them in this room. Not sure what happens in high season. We saw no-one although room was occupied for two nights.) Breakfast too dear and in rather soulless room. Did not try. Went over road for excellent cheap breakfast (6 euros each) in nearby restaurant (Parc).
charming location and room
The hotel was stylish and very clean. All the staff were polite, friendly and courteous. Lack of service after 22.00 hours. It would have been nice to be able to have coffee on return in the evening. We appreciate that we knew beforehand that dinner was not served.
Comfortable, spacious and efficient and very friendly staff that all speak English very well.
Helpful, accommodating staff; good location, internet included
Helpful staff, location A bit expensive
Fantastic staff with help for anything we wanted. Very knowledgeable about Ajaccio and what a traveler needs. None really. It was a very nice stay.
nice staff,very good location! nothing
The staff were friendly and helpfull. Location was exellent for city-walks and shopping.
Excellent hotel with a fantastic location in the heart of the town. 5 mins walk to the port if coming or going by ferry.
the fact that the hotel was in the city center no
very central position (main shopping road of the city), room is very clean, very good service, wifi gratis. The view from the window on the back of the hotel was not of the best.
Very friendly staff - Very quiet peaceful room
Location - excellent location, city centre close to shops, restaurants, beach and secure parking. Breakfast wasn't very good - very basic.
It was clean and very handy to the old part of town and beach which was of interest to us. We had an early flight and had trouble getting out as the front doors were locked and even tough we advised them of an early flight out and were told that reception was manned 24 hours a day
the view from the hotel room
The location of the hotel is wonderful. It is in the old district of the city, and there are number of restaurants and cafes nearby. Finding a parking spot can be very difficult.
Good reception Having only French TV channels.
The view from the window was spectacular; we had chosen the room with a sea-view. The staff were fantastic; very friendly and helpful. The location was superb; close to a small beach as well as the main stretch of restaurants / cafes. The room was tiny; we were banging off the table as we went around the bed. They probably could remove some of the furniture. The room needed redecorating. I would have said it was more like a 2-star than 3-star, but otherwise was fine.
Very good location close to the beach and old town. Free internet access.
The room had a jug! Next best asset were the women who clean the rooms and the older, but not the younger, reception staff were very helpful. Also, the position of the hotel is excellent for visiting Ajaccio. The hotel was extremely expensivefor what was offered and in very poor condition. It is sinking under its need for refurbishment, Parking nearby is expensive and almost impossible to find ( and this is out-o- season)
Very friendly reception, good value breakfast, quiet citadel-side room, useful use of internet. Excellent all-round No
Very friendly and englishspoken staff, very close to restaurant and shopping areas and close to the city beach (100 m.) Parking house Diamant very nearby - a little expensive (apx 14 Euro/day) - but convinient. A bit noisy outside, garbage containers located close to the hotel, and the garbage truck did start quite early to empty them (apx 05:30). Then the local traffic started apx 07:00 – and even with the window closed, you could not manage to ignore it. The noise reduction between the rooms wasn’t too great either. Air con didn't work. Our bathroom was a little too small, and when you showered there was no shower curtain, and all floor got wet. Lacking hair dryer. One of the rooms dind't have fridge. Breakfast was a little scattered, and even if it was relatively cheap, it was not worth the price of 9 Euro.
Ok hotel, if you don't spend time in it. We spend all our time down town and only slept in hotel. No safe in room, sliding door to baloncy won't lock, hotel staff had little English. No double room after I request one. Got twin instead
ok, for one nite
Very helpful staff They should offer non-smoking rooms.
We loved our room overlooking the harbour. Great bathroom, clean and tidy and the staff were very patient with us as our French was very bad but they were so nice and tried to accommodate us in every way - breakfast was very adequate for us and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay during the WRC Championships! Thank you for the poster from your front door - it was 'nursed' all the way back to Australia! Loved the hotel but was hard to find when you arrive by bus from the airport but once we got a more credible map of the city from another hotel we found it easy! Don't go by the map from the airport!!
The pool is nowhere near as big as the picture on this site suggests, and there is very little room for more than a hndful of people around it, plus it is a good hike just to get to it. Staff didn't seem to be very interested, and our triple was actually two rooms put together with one of the bathrooms unusable due to pending renovations (?) but no indications of that from the staff.
Lovely location overlooking the harbour. Room was basic, but perfectly comfortable - we were just there one night in transit to a cruise. Wonderful buffet breakfast included in price of room with attentive, friendly staff. Fold out bed for third person in room was very meagre. Not comfortable for adult.
The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Traditional continantal breakfast. Beautiful view out of the bedroom It is a fair distance from the ferry and an expensive cab ride, but very close to the airport
We enjoy this hotel even that it was around 20 min to go to centrum. We specially enjoy that our boy (13 year old) had his own room with his own balcony. In our room uit was a smell in the toilet that wasn`t good!
Very comfortable and big room; excellent breakfast and friendly staff No bad point in fact, just one thing I didn't appreciate : for me there is no need of a television in the breakfast room.
The lady on reception when we arrived was extremely helpful.
The apartment was fantastic with great views. We were there out of season and some facilities were not available however this was reflected in the price. Parking could be limited if the complex was full however this is normal for France. You really need a car as it is quite a trek to the town however I would highly recommend Les Sanguinaires
Great apartment - no personell and everything is closed after 1st October. You receive a code via telephone and the key is placed in a basket in the hall. No issues with that. Reataurant is closed and now personel around. However, location is great with a great view on the sea!
good location if you have a car since the hotel is on the beach side of ajaccio. compared to price should be at least cleaning the rooms on a daily basis by there staff and not to make you stay for a week to offer you what is common sence..cleaning services.
Large nice premises, modern equipment. Quiet place, nice swimming pool and close to beach.
Well organized; quiet. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Great value for money!!!!! Over-rated; should be a 3 star but offers great value for money. Ventilation issues (mold, odors in hallway), likely related to season (November) or limited to our floor.
Hotel Dolce Vita is a lovely, luxurious hotel. The rooms are extremely deluxe, and appear to be very recently upgraded and renovated with very high-end finishes. The rooms are huge with large sitting areas, extensive closet space, luxrious baths, and large balconies or patios. There is maid service twice daily too. The hotel has a beautiful waterfront setting. While the beach area is rocky, it is quite picturesque. The covered, outdoor dining area has magnificent views of the water and is extremely attractive. The restaurant also had excellent food. While the hotel is situated approximately a 15 minute drive from the downtown area of the city, the hotel is accessful by both cab and a very nice public bus. Overall - a fabulous resort! NO
Fantastic location right on sea, the superior rooms where first class. but no beach, swim off rocks; dining room good for two meals ,since only changed set meal once a week .coffee gourmand ( with a few small 'cakes' ) at euro 9 must be most expensive on the island.
View from the room There was no fridge
A real find! This place has the best views in Ajaccio, on the bus route, quiet and just far enough removed to be peaceful, yet close enough to the city to enjoy easily. Staff are fantastic!
Very nice hotel on stunning beachside location, we stayed in a room with terrace just above the sea - fantastic breakfast - nice private beach and top swimming pool. Every place of the hotel has incredible seaviews Nothing to complain about
Sea view, friendly and helpful staff The hotel is the conversion from retirenment housing. The reception area is the new bulding which they advertise, but the actual rooms were located in other part - the old building. Rooms were dated with old fashion furniture, i felt like i was staying with my grandparents in their retirement home. My wife had a weird and sloggy feeling about the place. She felt uncomfortable and could not sleep all night. We arrived in the evening, there were no lights on, everything was shut, not even outside area was lit. Not a nice place to stay and far away from Ajjacio.
Location was good for us (a young family) as we had a terrace at the back of the room which opened onto a large grassy area, which overlooked the sea (rocks not sand). Quite far from town (10 mins drive) and the place was very dated - in serious need of some renovations
Comfortable room, close to town, free car parking. The breakfast was too expensive, opted to eat downtown for 7 euros instead of 12. The adverstised English channels did not exist.
The complementary car parking was secure and convenient Our room on the 5th floor was very dated
The hotel was comfortable and a short walk from the main part of the city The wifi did not work in the room and despite informing the male at the reception of this, he insisted that there was something wrong with our laptop (which there was not) and he was not interested in sorting it out. The hotel advertises free parking - there is a small hotel car park out the front that had 2 cars in it and when you walk into the reception there is a sign saying that the parking is full (which it is clearly not). The "free parking" is purely in the street wherever you can find one! A small thing: it was advertised that there was a fridge in the room which there was not, but a hole where the fridge once was. I do not appreciate false and misleading advertising of hotel services which do not exist when you get there.
The hotel has car parking, which is at a premium in Ajaccio Overall the hotel was very dated. It seemed to have been built in the 60s / 70s and not renovated since. We paid more for a garden room, which was a reasonable size but in no way luxurious. The bed sagged in the middle. The very dated bathroom had a good shower, but no curtain or shower rail, so the floor ended up soaked whenever we showered. The hotel is located c. 10 minutes uphill walk from the town centre.
Staff was not very friendly. We had specifically asked and booked parking and was informed that it was not available. Returning from dinner we inquired again and the night staff was much friendlier and opened the parking space. The breakfast staff also had a bit of attitude problems.
The lock up car park was good and available even though we arrived late. The staff were helpful about the local area. It was not easy to find as a foreign tourist in the dark. It was impossible to see any garden from the "garden room" on the 7th floor.
friendly and good location
Very clean, cozy, and welcoming. It is on a main street but far enough away from city center. There is a nice big thing that closes the window completely and allows for no light at all. Overall very good experience. The street outside is noisy until 8 at night and from about 9 in the morning. Breakfast costs too much so we just went and got some bread and pastries at a local boulangerie.
The staff were very helpful and friendly. Rooms were clean and breakfast was quite reasonable. It was very noisy which isn't suprising given it was in the heart of Ajaccio, couldn't block the noise even by shutting the window. After spending a week virtually in the middle of nowhere it was difficult to sleep. If I'd been there several nights I'm sure I would have got used to the noise.
We stayed one night after GR20, did not take breakfast. Rooms were clean, showers hot & aircon worked. Staff friendly. Stored our bags, ordered a taxi for the airport. All ok.
