Good location The hotel is nice but expensive and were charged 4 euros per person and per day as local tax, in the top of that.
I really liked the room and the bathtab with jacuzzi. Nothing
Everything was excellent
Frendly staff. Excelent Service.
Lovely hotel, friendly helpful staff, quiet, close to transport (vaporetto), beautiful room, lovely atmosphere and sense of history although sympathetically and well modernised.
A short walk from the bus station and an even shorter walk from the water bus make this an ideal location. The colourful decor in this restored building makes it unique. Excellent breakfast too!
I liked the welcoming attitude of the staff. The hotel is cheerful both in thatvaspect and the decor is fresh and inviting. The rooms are unique as well as the breakfast room. The location works great as I arrived by train and it is a short walk and I rolled my luggage there. Then, went on to walk around.it is close to everything including a vaporetto if you prefer to return to the hotel that way after a long day of walking and sightseeing.also restaurants are nearby that seem to cater to locals as well,Especially Pizzeria Anfora.I was with my 9 year old daughter and she loved the experience, we felt well taken care of there. We would go back. As buildings in Venice are centrally controlled as to heating and air conditioning and as we were lucky and glad for the mild temperatures in early November, the room was a bit warm, I opened the window and it was appropriately cooler but had to suffer a bug or two.
The staff are super friendly and helpful. The hotel's décor is charming and very quirky. The place is in short beautiful. We loved staying here because Domina Home Ca Zusto is something different to the normal. Nothing wrong here. All was as advertised or better.
friendly staff , though not very prorfessional:) the internet conection was very bad!!! no buffet breakfast we were told the room was broken and asked we used room service
Very helpful staff Extremely small and compact space even by European standards.
Room was clean Shower is not of this time anymore, after taking a shower you could swim in the bathroom, why not having a simple showercabine or so? The breakfast was very poor. For Internet you had to pay, while the website claims it is for free.
Atmosphere in this hotel is truelly unique. It is stylish, in baroque Venetian style. Beds are super comfortable, rooms are spacious and clean, bathrooms are very comfortable. Service is polite and can go any lengths to make your stay special. We have stayed in the new wing of teh hotel - very quiet although a little bit isolated. If you prefear vividness of the Grand Canal you should stay in one of the rooms overlooking it - all rooms are beautifully decorated. Water taxi can be order directly at the doorstep.Breakfast is small but fresh.
This is a lovely character hotel with a great location on the Grand Canal. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms are elegant and clean.
This is a GREAT hotel! Location is great. Staff is awesome...so friendly and attentive. Decor really gives the feel of romantic Venice. Highly recommend it!! Gianni and Roxanna were the best!
Excellent location, nice rooms and very helpful staff
This is a charming boutique hotel right on the Grand Canal. Our room was beautiful, spacious and very quiet. The staff is outstanding - always friendly and extremely helpful. One of the best hotels we've ever experienced. n/a
The staff was wonderful, from the minute we arrived and greeting us by name, to every detail during our stay. The location is perfect and the accommodations great. No, nothing we did not like.
A gem of a beautiful small hotel. Staff very caring and helpful in all matters. Our room had everything one could wish for. Nothing
It's nice located close to the railway station, even though you have to search a little bit in order to find it ;-) It's a nice little hotel with very friendly staff!
The view, and especially the ONLY balcony in the hotel. Free Murano tour with private water taxi both ways.
The staff members were all very plesant and accomadating.
nice and wide rooms. the location is perfect and it worths the money spent.
We enjoyed the breakfast in the garden
The staff was very helpful and we traveled with our 6yr old.. Nice stay and would say again... Anyone can split hairs but all-in-all it was as we expected for a 4 star in Europe...
Great Location on the Grand Canal Breakfast in the Garden overlooking the Canal was excellent however the breakfast (Included in the rate) didnt include cerials or Cheese / meat choices that you normally get with a buffet breakfasts at similar (and cheaper ) Hotels
Fantastic location. Room was wonderful. Most of the staff was very kind and helpful.
Everything. Thats it! Wonderful rooms wonderful showers, wonderful gardens, Breakfast limited but still good
Location boutique hotel No kettle in room
Excellent hotel, great location overlooking the grand canal, friendly and helpful staff
There is a lovely rose garden that overlooks the Grand Canal. It is so lovely to sit out there and eat breakfast or have a bottle of wine in the evening. They have a fabulous continental breakfast also.
This Hotel was fabulous, from the quality of the staff to the detail of the rooms. The breakfast was always beautifully presented with great staff. The location was so easy to find and perfect for getting to the train station and ferry. I highly recommend this hotel! Nothing was a problem at this gorgeous hotel.
Good decorations. Location is very near bus station and about 30mins walk to San Marco sq, so manageable. Small rooms, but that's to be expected on Venice islands, space is a premium.
1) Friendly and helpful staff. I was looking to do a couple day trips outside Venice and when I asked for help at the front desk, the staff on duty was extremely helpful and even went out of his way to print the train schedules for the different legs of my day trip. 2) Comfortable accomodation.
Large Room felt luxurious bar lifeless
A nice hotel. It's near the train station, but a bit far from the centre.
Proximity to the Piazzale Roma and away from the madding crowd. Breakfast if not included in the room price was ridiculously expensive
The location in Venice is excellent and together with the luxury feel to the place it is a excellent choice One senior member behind the reception appeared to think himself superior.
Very pleasant for the brief stay we had. None
It was close to the station, very elegant, nice staff, and very spacious, and the restaurant exellent none
Every thing , the area the hotel, plus the staff, beautiful city No it is a excellent hotel
Excellent location, great breakfast spread Room Toilet seat cover is a bit loose
The location of the hotel was very good for visiting Venice. It is located only one bridge from the bus/taxi terminal making carrying luggage reasonably easy. Near to the Grand Canal, the Station, Cruise Terminal and Water Buses. No dislikes.
Breakfast good. Room very comfortable. Position excellent for accessing all areas of Venice. On arrival , member of reception staff very brusque but subsequent staff very helpful and courteous.
It's central location was terrific for access to the city itself plus the bus and train services. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
great location lovely atmosphere
Staff were very helpful, room very clean, breakfast very good. It was about a 30 minutes walk from st marks square.
We loved the friendliness and hospitality of the staff, especially Roberto. We also thought this location is perfect for those who are going on a cruise from Port of Venice since it is adjacent to the plaza where the shuttle bus picks up Breakfast also was fantastic!
Close to train station and water bus transport. Good restaurants in close proximity. Overall a good locaton to enjoy Venice. A minor inconvenience was the policy relating to continental breakfast room service. There was a different menu for room service which was not suitable and the staff (or policy) does not allow the guests to choose their own breakfast and take it to their room.
The staffs are friendly. The location is excellent - just next to Piazzale Roma, and a bridge away from the rail station.
Closness to places we wanted to go and near the Rome Termini for Train service
Staff were accommodating and more then helpful, this hotel has so much charm and is so inviting on arrival. The rooms are spacious and the location is great! Right near the major bus terminal and so easy to access from the airport. We really enjoyed our stay and recommend it to anyone looking for affordable accommodation in Venice! We would definitely stay here on return. They do not have wireless internet throughout the hotel, you have to pay for it, and use it in the lobby and its not value for money.
Great location, very nice room, bit complicated corridor system (but I guess its just Venice thing:), great breakfast. Bit stinky corridor outside our room but not a big deal really...
The location was perfect - close to the bus station and the water bus just across the bridge. The tides did not affect the water bus or water taxis like at other stops on the canals. Remember to bring converters for outlets - the hotel does not have any to borrow!
The Location For the cost of the hotel the cleaning service was not up to par.
Good location close to train station, breakfast included was also very good.
I liked the location near the train station and near other transportation; the neighborhood itself was not so interesting. I have no complaints.
the location value for money
The Carlton was a great location to stay before taking a cruise ship vacation. We obtained a water taxi right from the Hotel to our Cruise ship. There was not a thing that we did not like about our stay at the Carlton.
The location was fantastic and the room was stunning Nothing
Lovely Venetian style. Friendly, helpful staff. Very convient location. Difficult to get luggage to without water taxi (from cruise terminal, may be fine elsewhere)
location was great...room was great would have liked to have had a room overlooking the grand canal because this is one of the reasons we picked this hotel
Location excellent. Straight across from train station. Right on Grand Canal. View directly onto canal. Apparently hotel was upgraded in the last 10 years. Rooms are in need of an upgrade again. The rooms are "not" of 4 * standard. Disappointed with bathroom. As Venice is a damp city to visit, the rooms need to be insulated from damp and mustiness particulary that this is a 4* hotel. Hotel is definitely overpriced! :-)
The property was beautiful and clean. The location was so convenient. Close to port, train station, and the Grand Cannal! It was nice that our raye included buffett breakfast. The beds were the only thing I would suggest they improve. For a 4 star property, I was expecting cushier bedding.
Breakfast was very nice each day. Rooms alittle too small for three people.
We stayed 5 nights at this Hotel, First!..Location = Spot On..no dragging your bags through the narrow streets or across the bridges of Venice as its located very close to the Main Square Roma where all the bus stops are from the Airports only a very short walk and 2 bridges. Reception very good and informative good English speakers and armed with information....take the boat trip to the Islaands for 19 Euros a good 4 hours (Last stop not so interesting) Room are Small but rember Venice is Old and land is limited, Clean 100% daily a/c 100% tv 100% Breakfast 100% enough to get the motor running!...Location for water taxi & ferry down Grand Canal very Close..Buy the 72 Hour ticket from the Ferry Terminal Booth & hop on and off as you like . This is a very lovely City and this Hotel is Spot On! For the visitor its easy to use, good staff, good service and I would advise you to use it!!!! Well done Hotel Staff! And another good Hotel for listing on Booking.com..................100% Positive and zero negative from a regular World Traveler ZERO>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Conveniently situaeted close to the rail station and bus station, making it an easy location to reach which can be a challenge in Venice with heavy luggage in tow! It was aslo easy and accessible to reach St. Marks Square asd well as Murano and Burano from the hotel. We would definitely stay there again.
The location, with the room overlooking the canal. The room was very small, but comfortable. Service at reception excellent and helpful. Breakfast very good. We stayed at this hotel because it is near the cruise port It is also handy to everything. We would definitely stay there again. Probably the size of the room, but this is what you can expect in Venice. We took from our suitcases what we needed for 4 nights and stacked our suitcases on top of each other and we were comfortable.
The receptionist was very friendly and helpfull!!! breakfast was very limited, and only 1/2 hour per room is not enough to have breakfast!
It was a great location on the water. Room was a little small
very clean and modern room and great location right next to bus terminal.
It was a terrible service, I put a complain because until 11 at night my bed didnt have any sheets, and the person that was in the front desk was roud, mean and talking to me like if he was making a favor , he told me he didnt have time to send somebody to do it,it was terrible experience, and of course I will never never stayed in that hotel. Terrible service
Helpful staff, good location.
the location to the train station the shower situation
The proximity to Piazza Roma and easy access to the sights of Venice. Also the hotel had great ambience and decor that seemed just right for Venice. The beds were a little hard, and the staff didn't inform us until the last minute that the Olympia down the street was part of their system and had a waiting room we could have used to wait our train.
Location is great, it is just opposite the train station across the canal. Breakfast is more than adequate. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The room we were given is a residence and not within the hotel. (The other option we were given was to pay EUR30/night extra to have a canal view room within the hotel.) The room is on the ground floor and is dark. There is no view to speak of.
Free internet connection, extremely friendly greeting from hosts, bedroom organised exactly to suit our requests (3 adults = 3 single beds). Excellent location, good quality:price. Italian hotel pillows in general.... not this hotel specifically!!
The location on the Grand Canal and proximity to the vaporettas. The concierge was very informative and helpful. The rain!!
the service was incredible. Patient, thoughtful and extended their help in every way. they go out of their way to serve you. No need to pre-plan events to attend, ( I went for carrnival), they will make suggestions and book events for you. I only tried this service once and regret not having made all of them with their help. The breakfast was extension, excellent pastries as well as ham, cheeses, cereals, eggs, etc.... Room was modest in size but skillfully and beautifully decorated. I will be returning
Wonderful atttention to detail and the staff were extremely, friendly and helpful. It was really easy to get too and the view s of the Grand Canal were great. The bread rolls at breakfast were rather dry.
Staff was excellent, very solicitous. Rooms were Italian small, but nevertheless comfortable and efficient. Location was excellent, right on the Grand Canal, simply a 5-8 minute from the main bus terminal from the airport at Piazzele Roma. A great location to begin exploring the wonderful city. Could not have been happier.
it is unbelieavable but all of the personel in hotel Antiche Figure are kindness and helpful. The room is clean and well designed.Hotel location is very suıtable for arriving and departure to Venice. Also it is only 20 minutes to San Marco square by walking.
It had a very convenient location to the station and other transport in the city also very easy to walk to most of the sights in the area. none
Really helpful and freindly staff and a quiet location yet still close to Grand Canal Would have been nice to have Tea/Coffee making facilities in the room
excellent hotel - extremely helpful and friendly staff. lovely room and ensuite bathroom. good breakfast.
The hotel was perfect. We chose to be near The Piazale Roma for convenience of catching an early bus to the airport. Although we only stayed one night, we would thoroughly recommend this hotel. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The room was small but perfectly formed in venetian style! The bathroom had every convenience and was floor to ceiling marble. We ate our breakfast outside overlooking the Grand Canal - not many hotels for the price where you can enjoy that experience. As it is the other end of the canal to San Marco, wander there and take the vaporetto all the way back - magical!
Hotel staff are very kind and suggested many activities for shopping, viewing and dining. Air conditioner is not working? Mosqito came from windows. The room was facing local houses and are noisy. Canal view was impossible.
This is a wonderful hotel. I had specifically asked for their room with the gorgeous red draped motif and they complied. The room was large and beautifully adorned. The staff definitely tries to be very helpful and everyone is friendly, but we got a lot of misinformation from Katarina (on restaurants and making phone calls). The hotel is about 15 minutes walk to the Rialto Bridge and about 30 minutes walk (give or take) to St. Marks Square. You can also easily take the Vaporetto (water bus) to both locations. We were very happy with this hotel and would stay there again! As stated above, Katarina tried to be helpful, but gave us wrong information on some restaurants and making long distance calls. Otherwise, the hotel is wonderful.
I can't say enough about this hotel. Staff was exceptional, the hotel was gorgeous and all for a very affordable rate. Wouldn't change a thing!
I and my girlfriend had a wonderful stay with nice room setting, kind hotel staff, good location (very near to train station) etc etc.
I enjoyed everything , from the decoration to the location and the kindness of the staff. Everything was perfect.
New, modern hotel + well maintained, clean + good location + friendly & helpful staff - all of which are scarce in Venice. The room was a bit too small and the elevator stopped on the 2nd floor, so we had to climb one floor. All in all, it was a small price to pay for such a nice hotel.
The reception staff was wonderful. They helped us find nice family friendly restaurants, made suggestions for day trips and evening events, and organized a reasonable transfer for us. The hotel was beautiful and truly exhibited the Venetian atmosphere. The best part--it was "off the beaten path" in a quiet area, but within close walking distance to the main attractions of the city.
I stayed in Al Duca Di Venezia with my mother for two nights in mid-November. It's located right next to the Natural History museum and is very close to two public transit ferry stops. The room was absolutely beautiful - very unique and luxurious decor. On top of that, the staff were absolutely fantastic and extremely helpful about sightseeing, restaurant recommendations, and general information like train times, etc. Our favorite hotel during our week in Italy. Breakfast room was small and the breakfast itself was a little too basic - but really, not a problem.
Staff helpful. Room spacious for Europe. Room should have a chair where one can sit and read.
The room decoration is quite pretty. The receptionist is quite helpful and passionate. As soon as we checked in, he offered all info we need.
We booked this hotel based on the photos posted on the website as there was no review during time of booking. Hotel was very new, only 2 months old and the photos are indeed true. The room was covered with beautiful wallpaper and the bed was typical Venetician design. Room was not big but sufficient for two person and bedlinens were very smooth and comfortable. The staff were very helpful and gave lots of information on where to visit etc. My only complaint is that the bathroom was too cold, there's a draft of wind in the bathroom which makes it very cold during showering.
The hotel was close to the station and very easy to find. Our room was large and overlooked the canal which was perfect. No
The coziness and location. Also its antique look and furniture. The catering staffs were very nice and helpful too. The attitude and the way couple of guys at reception receive and interact with the costumers. Very indifferent, giving the impression that they really are tired to work at that job.
Good location- very close to bus station to airport. Clean hotel, friendly staff, good breakfast. Excellent fresh croissants for the breakfast. Can be recommended as very good hotel.
The hotel is well placed for public transport, yet quiet. The breakfast was disappointing. We have had much better breakfasts is many Italian hotels.
Nice location in front of S.Lucia station. Difficult to cross the bridge with stairs, but still manageable
They had a lift which was crucial for my disabled brother. Both room & bath were big & spotlessly clean. Location was just across canal from train station (but there were numerous steps across big bridge.) Would be fine for able-bodied person though. The front desk staff spoke perfect English and provided us with maps & restaurant recommendations. Breakfast in a pretty room was included. Nothing at all.
Hotel Gardena is a great hotel, very clean and the staff are very friendly. We had a spacious room and the breakfast was also very good. I would recommend this hotel as the location is excellent and it is great value for money. The only thing was that the air conditioner wasn't cool enough and it was rather hot at night. If there was netting on the windows then one could open them without risking getting bitten all over by mosquitoes.
The spacious room, logation and quietness
This hotel had a great location and was easy to find close to train station. They did offer a discount for parking in the garage that was very close. The room was nice and overlooked a side canal with views of the Grande Canal. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Excellent location on small canal, with proximitiy to vaporettos and car garage in Venice
Very nice hotel; great location-close to the train and bus stations. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We would stay here again.
Convenient location to train, station, bus station and all the sights. Rooms were clean and generously sized for European standards. Staff was friendly and helpful
Picturesque area, close to both Grand Canal and parking garages. Old plumbing.
The staff were very helpful and polite - they could not do enough for you. The room was clean, bright and modern and was a good size for Venice, given that many rooms in the City can be quite small for the price that you have to pay for a 3 * Hotel and above. It is well located in the Santa Croce area has a a lovely garden area but despite its central location is very quiet so perfect for a good nights sleep. If I return to Venice I will stay here again. Only problem was that on arrival there was a mix up with our room and we had to stay one night in a lower standard room than the room we had booked. However, it was quickly sorted out and we were properly compensated for the inconvenience.
It is a convenient and perfect location with easy access to everything and travel. It an enjoyable stay. Staff very helpful and breakfast was also good. Being Irish, we would have liked a bar/lounge service in afternoon or late at night, rather than go to your room, but realise this is not available throughout Europe.
Approachable staff and spotless accommodation teamed with readily accessible location from point of entry into Venice. Location in a quieter area of the city but still within easy striking distance of the principal sights. Excellent value for money with the opportunity to stay in this well-restored palazzo. Whilst understanding that pigeons are omnipresent and a perennial nuisance throughout the city, it was impossible to take advantage of an alfresco breakfast in the hotel garden without (literally!) sharing your cereal, brioche and cup of coffee with these winged menaces, unless you spent the entire time on arm-waving sentry duty.
Helpfulness of staff and locality The coffee at breakfast was poor and could easily be improved. Breakfast did not include any hot food.
Beatiful location, nice garden, very good breakfast Negligent staff
located on a canal away from the crowds but easy walking distance to main parts of Venice
Staff helpful, nice breakfast and cleanliness. Also hotel situated in a very ideal position to train station and buses.
The location was just what we wanted - close to all the sights but in a peaceful part of Venice. The staff were very friendly. The breakfast was average. Like all hotels in Venice, Al Sole was overpriced for the offering. Our room was large but basic and not welcoming, the bed was hard but at least a good size.
The room is very nice The location was a little hard to find.
It was easy to find the hotel (I heard before that it is hard to find hotels in venice). The room was clean, and the temperature was great (we stay at Carlton Capri in Nov, and the weather was cold in venice). The bathroom was nice and warm. The room as a window opening in a allay. Venice is a noisy city because of tourists at night, but this hotel is located in a very quiet point. We had a good sleep in our room. The hotel is near to a water bus station. There was a good elevator in the hotel. breakfast was acceptable, but not very good. The hotel is near train station, but there is a bridge between the station and hotel (also between the hotel and water bus station) which has many stairs, and it is very difficult to carry the languages, even for me and my husband, both young. The staffs were good, but not helping too much. The hotel is far from Sant Marco and most important places for tourists (not a big problem, about 30 minuets walking). A very important thing is the hotel has not any internet access.
poor air conditioning
very sentral location - good breakfast - friendly staff it was very difficult to just find the hotel - even with help from a local! We where not able to sleep as we wold like to in the mornings because of noise from the corridor and neighbor rooms etc.
The Balcony After taking the elevator, need to take staircase. It's Ok for light bags traveller but not for very heavy bags
very quiet and relaxing location would have preferred the room to be a little more spacious
The Hotel offered good clean rooms in a very handy location to parking and acces to the city. Finding the hotel was not as easy as anticipated but by asking a couple of friendly locals we did not waste too much time at all. Good idea to have a good look at a map before leaving home!!
We enjoyed the friendly and helpful staff. The location of the hotel was an easy walk with luggage from the train staation, just steps from the Grand Canal.
Location. Food & Drink prices prohibative.
breakfast was good
Excellent view from the junior suite. Good situated. The towels were only changed once in 5 days. The breakfast was a bit tedious (only sweets no cheese, salami etc)
The staff, Nicolas, Ann Marie and Marco were all charming and helpful. The room was large, the bed big and comfortable and the ensuite bathroom/shower was very good. The best part though was its unrivalled location overlooking a bend in a canal and with an excellent restaurant (Trattatoria al Ponte) directly underneath. The neighbourhood was quiet and on one evening we watched about 50 couples dancing the Argentinian Tango in the adjacent square. Superb. We had the best room in the house but paid a fair amount for it (200 euros a night). It seemed a bit steep.
the room was great, clean and very quiet! peaceful during the day and extremely quiet at night. for visitors that are not familiar with the way Venice addresses work, it may be hard to find, since even locals had a problem. as a help to that is, first the district and then compare your numbers up or down till you find the right block or street. take your walking shoes and have fun. air conditioner isn't the coolest one around! but since it was June it wasn't real hot yet. breakfast needs improvement. but for the price ok since there is a bakery across the street
Once you find the small brass plate on the street door and you arrive at the appointed time the reception will be brief. For your money you get a room and a separate bathroom ( 2 rooms have a small balcony ) The B&B is unmanned other than at arrival/breakfast/departure times - the light set breakfast offered is on a tray in your room From the reviews I perceived a small hotel - in reality it is a basic B&B
Great location. Beautiful large room, appears to be recently remodeled Could have better instructions on finding location, but not hard to find.
Only a short walk from the Santa Lucia Station, you cross the Ponte degli Scalzi over the Grand Canal and you're almost there. The absolute highlight of our stay at Ai Due Fanali is their very substantial and delicious breakfast on the rooftop terrace overlooking the quiet square below. It was quite an experience when the Bell Tower rang at breakfast on our first morning, only a few metres away. Friendly, helpful staff too, wonderful place to stay in Venice. The room we stayed in was a little small, with a busy walking below our window. Request a room with windows opening onto the square, a view of the Grand Canal would have been ideal!!!
location Rooms are too small, breakfast needs a lot of improvement.
perfect quiet location, access to excellent facilities in adjoining 4 star hotel - beautiful garden by the canal; staff very welcoming and helpful
it's a very small room, it has only 40 cm space around the bed to the wall. it's close to the train station, sound proof is poor, breakfast is not bad, staffs are nice, with 160 euro per night is a little bit expensive, but, it's expensive in venice anyway
not easy to find it, actually location is ok. But tiny small, and bad smell in room, since prices are all high in venice, and we only stay in this hotel, so we choose it. but will never choose again.
Great location, close to excellent restaurants and nice and quiet as compared to the St Mark square area. A little hard to find w/o directions: from train stn, go L and go over bridge (lots of steps, pack light). Go straight and take the second L, go over a small bridge walk past the church and the hotel is on the L in the courtyard.
The location, very well placed for access to the train and bus stations and Grand Canal. The evening desk staff were very helpful and helped me plan for the following day, helped with pronunciation of words and made me feel very welcome. I'll use the hotel again. The day time desk staff were a little unwelcoming. Perhaps a lack of variation for breakfast.
Close to train station. Was nice to see Venice although a day trip would have done. Like most things we found in Venice - overpriced for what you get. Although having stayed at a number of hotels across the north of Italy it is best not to expect too much for your money and beware a 3 star or 4 star hotel. It is not the same quality as what you would expect the UK. My advice; do a day trip in to see Venice and then leave.
the hotel was closed so the management-who were expecting us-moved us to their other hotel across the square; this review is therefore for the ca nigra resort hotel. large rooms with interesting furniture, super modern and large bathroom pretty garden onto the grand canal. good continental breakfast, with more coffee, pastries etc being offered(rare in my experience);a la carte options available and excellent if expensive armchairs in the room would have been perfect
This hotel is right on the Grand Canal and directly across from the train station. The hotel itself is a little worn however this adds to the charm of staying there as all of the properties appear to be in the same state. The staff were very accommodating, spoke English well and were knowledgeable. Breakfast was sufficient for our needs. Our room and bathroom were spacious and clean. We had a garden room which was a godsend as it was quiet, unlike those facing the Canal which is a beehive of constant activity. Overall, for the price we paid I was suitably impressed.
the stuff is very helpfull and the room is well decorated, the breaksffast is satisfied but not very good. actually venice is ver complex and so to find the hotel is difficult sometime.
Going out Location
We had a corner room which overlooked the canal and it was close to the railroad station where we arrived. Breakfast on the rear patio was nice. We were on the 4th floor and no elevator!
good location aged small room
Second time at this hotel. Location easy access from bus/train. No shower curtain in bath. Breakfast only average but not untypical
Its location is very convenient, just opposite to the terminal station and 10mins walk to the main street. It doesn't have wifi and I think the hotel really needs renovation.
The view of the canal in room 113 and all the rooms on that side. The second thing is proximity to the train station (just across the hotel over the bridge). You do not need a 12hr or 36hr or 48 hr pass if you are planning on walking Comfort/ Mattresses: Supposidly with the exception of few rooms, all the double rooms consist of 2 single mattresses stuck together. Not comfortable at all!
the location no elevators. Breakfast quality was very poor. Small room size for a quadruple room.
Very close to the train station and also very easy to find. Genuinely friendly staff. Old hotel and slightly kitch at first glance but ended up having most enjoyable and comfortable stay. Was surprised to find a spacious room. Would deffinetly recommend.
The location is excellent. You have the train station just crossing the river, and if you go by car, a city parking about 300 meters (it costs 24 euros per day).
The overall stay was pleasant: location close to Santa Lucia railway station and Piazzale Roma. We had window view to the canal. The room was clean and it was cleaned every day. There was shared bathroom in our floor, but only two rooms sharing it. Bathroom was clean. We also shared a kitchen, "self service" breakfast items were supplied there (very simple: juice, bread and coffee).
That hotel and owner was great we had everything we needed and more. The walk
Slightly cheaper Emailed month in advance with our late arrival request. Got there and they were closed, didn't take a phone call and didn't refund. Stayed at arlecchino around the corner. They didn't have enough space the next night so we had to go back to this rathole. The washer didn't work. They wouldn't give us another towel when we went to the front desk and I got eaten up by bed bugs. We are seasoned travelers (all 50 US STATES and 67 countries and territories on every inhabited continent.) on this trip we were in Africa and Asia. This was the one dark moment of the trip. More low brow than the thousand year old tiny home in the old medina in Morroco. The lady at the front desk was nice but that's about it.
no , I dont like this hotel anymore, It so not safe fr me who travelling with mom, two women. Reception & my apartment is not same bulidling , . It not conveince if I have trouble . The building is renovated and I can'topen for canal sence . I feel not safe to stay in that apartment. Heater is not working and I come from Asia , I don't know how to open it . It very bad experience fr my first time in B&B . I will not use B&B room style again.
kitchen and bathroom is good
All the staff is very very kind and available! They offer good support before and after the journey. The position is perfect to see all the city by day and night. Rooms are comfortable, very quite and clean. The breakfast is great and complete. I reccomend this bed and breakfast.
Very clean, spacious, light and airy
I felt that I am in my home
staff is nice. breakfast is OK. the flies, many flies
near train station stuff said we share tow other guests but it was three, there was no heater in the bed room, extremely cold
Location - close to train station Two things. First, there was no key for the room and we have shared apartment with someone else. Second, there was no heating and the night was really cold.
