Best place we have stayed in Europe! Maria the host was fantastic, made us feel very welcome and went above and beyond as a host. The rooms are fairly spacious, very clean and comfortable. Highly recommended, great value for money. Thank you Maria for making our stay so enjoyable.
Maria, out host, is the best host we've had. It's just a 5 minute walk from most things in Fira.
Small but quite clearn and has everything you need inside None
The service from Maria & Nikolos keeps you blindfolded! They are amazing! Catching sleep for just a couple of hours a day to keep receiving the guests and bidding them a farewell from the air/sea ports as a voluntary service, they attend to every call with the same care! Mr Nikolos, one of the owners, defends, "every 10 euros earned should make a way partly back to the well being of the hotel and their guests" and adds that he enjoys it. This is apparent if you encounter the hosts yourself. The rooms are kept 'spotlessly' clean, a few edibles replenished each day and every call attended to, patiently. I would rate a 9 on 10! This is not something I didn't like - I only don't want the guests to choose this property with expectations and later get dejected due to this reason: the property isnt located on a sea-facing edge of the island. And if it did, I am afraid if I could ever afford to stay at this place! And am happy it's so reachable to many like me! It's neverthless quite centrally located yet secluded from the tourist buzz. If you arrive here at night, please wait till the next day break before you give up!
Everything! I absolutely recommend this place to anyone. We have been travelling Europe for 2 months now and have stayed at everything from a below 1 star hostel to a five star hotel and Villa Rose beats them all! Maria goes above and beyond to make your experience the best one possible. None. If your choosing between here and somewhere else in Santorini - choose villa rose!
Fabulous 2 bedroom villa perched high up on edge of cliff. Magnificent view. Private pool and terrace where breakfast is served. Great personalized service. Nothing
Gorgeous views, stunning hotel.. the staff were not very friendly, food was terrible and i love greek food but there cuisine was very western without the knowledge so very disappointed with the overall service off the staff and food!
Loved the view, location Bathroom needed ventilation/exhaust fan
The view is amazing. The restaurant is great, and the staff were wonderful. Bed was a little uncomfortable, and there was nothing within walking distance.
Views and food were great. Staff was not friendly or helpful, and the rooms were not that clean.
The view from the hotel is amazing! The location of the hotel, close to Fira but not in Fira is ideal for those seeking a peaceful vacation. The free hotel shuttle bus to Fira is also a plus. Fantastic breakfast buffet. The bed was unusually hard and very uncomfortable. The A/C needed to be replaced. The bathroom needs to be updated.
Location and scenery The pool water is far to cold for a resort; Do the staff not ask why there are a dozen people around a pool on a warm day and nobody is swimming?
outstanding view, atmosphere the staff behaviour
The location was good, the room was clean and adequate in size. The hotel is in 2 parts (not mentioned on web site). The part we stayed on did not have access to the 3 pools and restaurants unless we crossed a busy main road so we felt isolated. Not enough loungers for all the guests, especially annoying when they are empty but just draped in towels and the staff tell you there is nothing they can do! Also hotel has countless steps to pools and no lift!
The view, location and buffet breakfast
Very reminiscent of Mamma Mia. The style is exactly what you'd expect of Santorini. The staff are very nice and helpful. I only had a dinner and breakfast so I'll reserve my comments on the food because I may not have experienced all the hotel has to offer. The room was so nice. My only complaint is not with the hotel but with some obnoxious travelers that seemed to enjoy themselves a little too loudly. The food but I didn't have much of it to know what might ve been better.
The rooms, views, facilities were fabulous.A lovely location and hotel perfect for honeymooners... Would highly recommend to friends and family..perfect location away from the crowds and just a short distance from Fira. No
This was a great small hotel, just outside of Fira (less than 5 minute walk). Location turned out to be great because it was really easy to get in and out of, quiet, easy parking (get an ATV!), but super easy walk into Fira. It was also really easy to get to other locations around the island vs. some of the 'in-town' hotels. It also has a beautiful view of the Caldera and sunset. The staff was amazingly helpful with everything, including helping us coordinate with lost baggage and directing us to good places to get clothes in the interim. The pool was very nice to relax and staff was quick with towels and drinks. The only downside is that the shower was a little small and the Wifi was could be a little slow at times. The hotel does not have the same type of view as the hotels on the cliffs in Fira or Oia, but for the price, ease of access and other positives; it is well worth the value and very relaxing.
We enjoyed the location , and the pool great views also . unfortunatley the air conditioning did not work well at all and the bathrooms were very out of date , the linen was old and needed an update , the breakfast was very very basic
Great location! So close to everything..Our view was fantastic! and Paul was very friendly and helpful. It was great to have a pool right there that we could relax beside. Had the most amazing time and would not hesitate to stay there again.
Spectacular views, and most of the staff is extremely friendly and goes above and beyond. I think our stay would have been A+ if we didn't experience a hiccup part of the way through, which wasn't handled ideally. Not the end of the world but did put a damper on the idealic experience. If you're a super easy going traveler and nothing will phase you, this will be a fairy tale stay for you. If you like things a certain way or have a high bar, perhaps consider a different spot. But don't worry too much, in Santorini you can't really go wrong! :D
This is a beautiful cliff side hotel. Once you actually get there, it's amazing. Trying to navigate there is literally impossible, although google maps will insist you can drive onto the pedestrian walk way to get there. We drove around for quite some time, then called the hotel. They were nice, but basically just told us to park and ask someone (I didn't appreciate that part of it!). It is a relatively short walk once you park (pretty much anywhere in Fira is a short walk)
Perfect combination of adventure and relaxation... very impressed and pleased.
This hotel was very clean and comfortable, with a beautiful view of the caldera. Staff was very accomodating, with an early check in. Pool area was clean and very nice. Overall very happy with this hotel.
The view was amazing (in our room, at the pool, everywhere!) we spent 2 full days at the pool, it was so relaxing and the pool bar girl made the best mojitos! It was quiet at our hotel, meanwhile if you wanted anything, it is a few minute walk to Fira town where you can get food, ice cream, coffee, etc. we wished there was wifi in the rooms
Staff, location and room.
great service, friendly people, felt at home
the room is so so so beautiful and the host is quite kind person. the hotel is located in a very quiet place but just 15 minutes walk to Fira city center. it will be so wonderful to live in this hotel.
everything is perfect it is a little far from the bus station, but it is not far from the fira city center
The staff and owners were very helpful and did all they could to ensure our stay was pl;easant
The Villas were family run and for the money we paid I thought it was excellent value. I little way out of main town but within walking distance of about 10 minutes. If you have a moped or quad bike its with 3 minutes Not the hotel only real bug bear was the building site that was going on next door. No mention of this on your site or from the villa owner. Still it was good value for money as the owners made us most welcome.
The owner who was very helpful and pleasant. The location was peaceful but convenient and close to the caldera. The room was spotless and well appointed.
Friendliness of the hotel staff, and cleaness. Nice breakfast
lovely place to stay Not easy to find the villas in the frist time
5 minutes far from centre of Fira, nice decoration!staff was very friendly and helpfull!
The facility is beautiful Service was good. Hotel was quiet, pool was like out of a magazine. We would come back to this hotel. Would be nice to be able to have coffee earlier than 7:00a.m.
The food was excellent, it was on par with a five star hotel. The swimming pool is beautiful, very big and clean. I would not rate this hotel five star. The rooms are basic and the staff aren't very helpful (even though they do try to be but don't know how to be). Seems to me that it is considered to be a hotel only for tourists so they tend to get away with a lot.
people are very friendly
The staff were very good, the food was wonderfull and we thought very good value, our room was great and the location excellent.
everything, esp wi fi in the room. nice. helpful, friendly staff, short walk from town center and bust stop for tours. it was good overall. the fact that there are no screens and if you dare open windows or doors for fresh air you will have a room full of flies because of the intense heat. but the air conditioner works just fine.
Everything was great. The room had an excelent view and we it felted like home. The pool was great and the staff was very nice. The organization and the display of the hotel was excelent, perfect for a nice and relaxation vacacions. Needs more variety on breakfast
Champagne buffet breakfast, the free transfers from port and airport, the hotel swimming pool and proximity to the town of Fira (walking distance). The rooms are not well maintained for a 5* hotel and half of the rooms with 'volcano views' are actually facing the main road. Those rooms facing the other side may be better but they have a narrow staircase, without a bannister, leading up to the gallery/bedroom which was not practical. The biggest disappontment was the number of iunexplainable flys in the rooms. We changed rooms 3 times but just could not get away from them - not something one would expect to find in this level of hotel.
The staff made our trip memorable. They were all excellent.
Almost everyone on the Hotel staff is very friendly and kind. The breakfast is good and the pool is excelent. The Hotel location, although not on the beach, is very central, and that allows one to reach every beach of the island in about 20 minutes by car. The breakfast is good, but could be improved considering the price one pays to stay there.
The price, at least, was as low as the quality of what we found we were paying for. Upon arriving at the hotel address, we found it closed, with a note at the door asking us to call some telephone number for instructions. After some trouble finding a telephone boot to make the call, we were told to go to another address, pretty further from the original one, and ever harder to find. There, we found out that the swimming pool advertised ate the hotel profile was empty, after all it all "off-season". The same goes for the "free airport pick-up", advertised as well in the hotel page, but which you find out later is only available on season peak. At leaving the hotel, the owner offers to drop us at the airport for a 20 euro fee, even though a taxo driver himself charges 15 euros for the same ride.
Location was good, free transfer to the ferry was excellent. Lovely, clean room. The lady cleaning the rooms was the only member of staff available for information, and she's not a people person! Excursions advertised only run on certain days but they can't tell you which days! Pool was filthy.
location and price breakfast was very poor, only cerial, bread and jam on offer
The location was quite close to downtown Fira. We had trouble checking in because there was never anybody at the desk. We had to walk all the way back into town and find a pay-phone to call them. The towels were also not clean.
High roof, high ceiling and good breakfast
Friendly and helpful staff. Very clean room and nice swimming pool
Me and my friend booked a double room, but they gave us a triple! New building, clean rooms, swimming pool, 2-minute-walk from the center of Fira, definitely cheap. Free bus service from/to the port.
Good price. The hotel's decoration is impresive. The room is big and clean. There is usually nobody at the reception . The breadfast is just so so.The Fira town is too nosiy and air-polluted by the motors and cars.
price rude staff
My husband and I were on a 3 week vacation to Greece and this hotel had to be the worst by far. The owner was not only unwilling to help Americans but made no attempt to help book any activities unless you purchased through her. She could have at least had the decency to understand that when people are traveling on 20 hr flights to come on vacations she should be somewhat hospitable. The staff and the location was far away from major attractions.
The hotel staff were very friendly. They were very accomodating. Amazing view.. best location and view you can get in Fira, Santorini. no
The view is perfect The swimming pool is closed, can not be used, and internet is not accessable in the room. the room is small
Nice view. Good location. Nice and helpful staff.
The location is great very close to town but away from the crowds, the swimming pool and the reception are ok.
The pool was nice and the view of the sunrise was also nice. The bathroom was poor, and the toilet didn't work most of the time. There was not power or water the last day. Checking in and out of the hotel was very time consuming. We were originally told our room would be ready at 10 AM then we were told it would be ready at noon, then we were told it would be ready in 10 minutes for about 2 hours. Checking out was also time consumeing.
The big room.
We like the position of our hotel because it is near center of Thira, whitch is center of all island Santorini, and near bus station and rent a scooter/quad/car. We did not like the very poor breakfast. 1 kind of salami, 1 kind of cheese, 1 kind of butter, 1 kind of mermelade and 2 kind of cereals. That is all you get and in small quantities.
Close enough to the center of Fira Its price and personnel
Nothing. Apart from being assigned a room next to the kitchen & being located in the reception area, it was a nightmare. The son of the owner kept my passport until the last second & there were yellow crusty stains on the blankets. The sheets provided on the bed were already dirty upon arrival. Breakfast was served directly outside my door.
pool, quiteness, price breakfast was very poor, just bread, cheese and jam and ended at 10AM. Overall i think most things in Santorini are overpriced, though Villa Popi was a good option if you are looking for a budget hotel.
very close to city center(fira) very noisy, poor breakfast
The location was great, metros away from thira town. It was great that the hotel staff were waiting for us at the arrival port, and also gave us a lift to the port at the time of returning home. The bedrooms are quite good, the only inconvenient is that there was no wardrobe in the bedrooms. The toilet is really small, no enough place to have a confortable shower. Irene, the lady at the reception was of great help when deciding what to visit within the island. The toilet was far too small and it is forbidden to through any toilet paper into the toilet. Also, there was no wardrobe in the bedrooms,
The room we had included a deck and kitchenette which was nice. The bathroom appeared to have been recently redone with a nice shower, etc.
Friendly staff, excellent transfers
We were pleasantly surprised with this hotel - the owner was amazing - very willing to help and easygoing. The rooms varied so make sure that you know what you're booking - the one we ended up in was great, very quiet, clean and a good size with a great balcony. It's not luxury but it's a good choice if you're on a budget but don't want to negotiate on quality. Not all the rooms are the same quality so make sure you ask when you book that you are getting the one you want (balcony etc)
good location, staff was friendly noisy (from the other Loizos appartments)
The location is right in the city center of Fira and next to carrefour. The free airport transfer really helped alot. The distance to the city center and Fira's caldera is walking distance. The free transfer from and to airport fails the promise and promontion as i only got transfer from airport to hotel not vice versa. They said the driver was not in the day i left santorini on tuesday morning at 11am....c'on....anyway, everything was nearly perfect.
The location of the hotel was close to everything, the bus stop, shops. They were also very accommodating to our needs, and provided a free pick up and drop off to airport.
good location, practical for short stays, convenient to well-organized bus terminal Small apartments, no microwave in kitchen
if you like peace and quiet don't go here. Our room was right next to reception. Too noisy. Location wise excellent.
the staff the rooms and very close to bus station and town. Under 2 euro you can travel anywhere on the buses
Hard to beat for the price point. The staff was extremely helpful and pleasant. Highlights: 1) The staff: Never saw anyone at the hotel who WASN'T smiling. They went above and beyond to provide relevant and useful advice, arrange any excursions, and improve the stay. 2) The facilities: The common areas were beautiful, the room was spacious and comfortable. 3) The convenient location: The hotel is located across from a couple shops (including a grocery store) and just down the street from the nightlife and tourist attractions- without being so close that you have to hear the bass of the clubs all night (unless you are into that!) Santorini is renowned for its panoramic views of the beach- this location does not provide that. Also, the rooms are not sound proof so if you are a light sleeper it could be an issue.
Great layout of the rooms with the kitchenette and utensils etc. Which was very helpful with our 2 year old toddler. Great pools to relax and swim in. Great views from the upper floor rooms. Very warm, and supportive staff - always willing to help and guide during our visit in Santorini Nothing.
location, acoomodations nothing
The staff was extremely attentive, especially Elena. Also, proximity to town. A heated pool or jacuzzi would be nice. Also, because we were there off-season, the pool bar and restaurant hours were not consistent. Not a big deal since town was a 10 minute walk.
The rooms were great, it was more like little villas where every 5 ore 6 villas had their own pool and a great view. The location was excellent, away from the busy center but at the same time very close (5 min walking). The staff was very friendly. Great environment. The breakfast could be a little better with more food variety.
very nice location and beatiful layout of the hotel rooms and pools some of the rooms look into the parking lot or mainroad with heavy traffic
Wonderful Pool and spacious room Bathroom smelt with leaking water
We checked out at 11:30 but did not fly until 1:00 am but the hotel let us use all their facilities including a shower it was on a main road so the room was noisy this was not disclosed when booking at night we had to shut all the windows and turn the air con on
close to Fira downtown, 5mins by walk, hardware is competely new.friendly staff .Free wifi in the lobby. Breakfast choice could be enlarged.
Excellent location. 5 minutes from Fira town but out of the hassle and noise. Beautiful view of the sunset, spacious rooms, spacious swimming pools, friendly and helpful staff.
The location of El Greco was great it was within walking distance to the town but with relaxing and spacious accommodation. Great pools & breakfast. What we liked best though was the staff - they were all welcoming and friendly no matter how busy they were. Nothing
The views from our two balconies were amazing. The jacuzzi was nice too. The tub/shower was a problem. It was hard not to get the floor wet when you took a shower - and when we used the jacuzzi, the floor drain backed up so we had to let the water out gradually.
Wonderful hotel staff. Great location...lovely jacuzzi. Would definately stay here again.
very friendly staff, always smiling and very happy to help when needed :)
The location (2 mins walk from the main square in Fira) was great! The room was basic but cosy and had a nice feel to it. The staff was lovely! Also the free wi-fi was a nice thing, even 4* hotels in Greece don't always provide this. At the price we got it for it was an absolute bargain.
In Summer Time Hotel I like the most the helpfull staff, the modern decoration of the room, the clleanliness of the room and its location clode to all things needed like bus sto, supermarket, taxi station, night clubs, restaurants, fast food, travel angencies and all these a capital offers. I surely recommend this hotel either for family vations or for friends vacations.
THe location. The staff was rude and the floor in our room was dirty.
Good location, staff were friendly, rooms were lovely and clean.
very good location and rooms are good and clean. friendly staff
The beauty of both the room (including its balcony) and the lobby and breakfast area. I liked everything.
Breakfast, pool and staff service
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was great.
Excellent, convenient location with fitness center... We arrived just days before the hotel was closing for the season and that's exactly how it felt--like it was closing down.
Staff was very helpful in providing information about local attractions and transportation. Conveniently located in Fira and was within very easy walking distance to the bus station. Breakfast provided a good selection and varied daily.
We loved this hotel. I was worried a bit that it would be a typical business hotel (based on pictures from internet) but it has been recently renovated and it was great. It is totally beautiful butique hotel, in a great location to all the bars, clubs, restaurants, bus station (so we could easily reach all locations and we don't like to walk). We loved it and would stay there again. There was nothing that we did not like about this hotel. Staff was great both at reception, bars, pools and otherwise. The hotel was quite but very close to all the action. Just perfect. So the best of both worlds. We were a group of girls and we really enjoyed it. Drinks & food at the hotel are also delicious. It is a 5 star hotel.
I stayed in Levantes. It is a two bedroom suite with a balcony and very convinient for three people and the room has a wonderfull view to the sea and volcano No
Management and his staff made you feel like you were family and could not do enough to make your stay perfect. the beds were hard
The staff was amazing and made our stay very nice. We were upgraded upon arrival for no additional cost. The views were breath taking from the balcony of our room. Breakfast and dinner were absolutely delicious. We liked that our room was like an apartment and not an actual hotel room. The staff made our stay perfect!! The bed was very hard (I am used to pillow top mattress) and the shower was a very small bathtub with a shower head that you had to hold to take a shower. The lighting could have been better inside the bathroom and throughout the room. These were minor concerns as overall I still give this hotel an A+ because of the service and location.
Very nice hotel and very helpful personnel. Feels like familydriven and very caring about guests. The price, but seems to be for all hotels in Santorini
The manager and staff were so accommodating and helpful in their efforts to make our all too short stay memorable. From meeting our ferry to the fresh orange juice on arrival and the dinner on our balcony, no detail was left unturned. The views from the hotel are incredible as is the beauty of the hotel itself. We were treated with such grace and consideration, it was difficult to leave this beautiful place.
The location and views over the caldera and waterways were excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were freshly prepared and delicious. It was at the edge of town, so was very quiet, yet within easy walking distance of restaurants and shops. The swimming pool was tiny and by the side of the bar. There was no space for relaxing or sunbathing next to the pool, so it was really unusable. There was a one-person jacuzzi, next to tables and chairs, which made the place cluttered. The rooms varied, so that some superior rooms had a shared balcony and stand-up half shower (shower head at waist height) and others had private balcony with full bathroom. If a private balcony is important, then guests would need to stipulate this in advance. The dinner menu was expensive e.g. up to 30 euros for a main course. There were many feral cats around, which were fed by the hotel. There were cats and cat smells in the balcony and breakfast area, which we found unpleasant and unhygienic.
The location and view outside of the hotel was excellent. The staff was wonderful and accommodating. The breakfast was delicious. For a 5 star hotel, we found the linens/towels to be sub par, the bathroom was not in particularly good condition (the sink did not drain), and there was no hot water. While there is a small pool available, what you do not realize is that it is in the lobby area/dining room with no lounge chairs available, making it awkward if not impossible to utilize.
The hotel was in a convenient location. We splurged for one night and we had no regrets. We were greeted by friendly staff who went above and beyond to ensure a warm and comfortable stay at the hotel. The breakfast was delicious, complimentary drink, tea and a private balcony made our wedding anniversary special. The staff at reception offered us a complimentary taxi back to the airport to avoid us the trouble of dragging our suitcases on cobbled streets. Request a higher room with a private balcony if you are spending the $$
The staff was very accomodating. The hotel manager went out of his way to make sure we had a pleasant stay. The staff was friendly and courteous. The food was outstanding! I would recommend having dinner at the hotel before eating anywhere else.
Beautiful historic hotel. Our room was comfortable, and we had our own balcony where we could eat breakfast while admiring the beautiful vista. The staff was friendly and welcoming. We were greeted with rosewater cool towels, as well as a refreshing drink. Complimentary hors d'oeuvres and a lovely bottle of wine were offered to us to enjoy at our convenience. The dinner we had there was excellent, everything was made in house, fresh, and incorporating local ingredients, and in my opinion comparable to any other 5 star restaurant. Location is great too, just a quick 5 minute walk to city center.
Wonderful view, staff very nice and helpfull, good food, close to city center but away from crowds,a few steps up and down to the hotel but your are in Santorini, staff will help you with baggage.
The suit that we stayed in is gorgeous with best view in Santorini. The hotel in autentic with an outstanding romantic atmosphere. The service was superb and the staff was very friendly . The location is perfect.
