9.7+I was in town for a concert at the Amalie Arena and didn't want to drive back to my home on the east Florida coast the same night. Everyone was very friendly and helpful and the room was great. I would stay there again.-The usual downsides to a downtown hotel, like having to pay a lot for parking and no spots available in the valet lot. Also, the only way I could find to get from the part of the 3rd floor where the catwalk from the garage/City of Tampa building and the conference rooms were was to go down the escalator to the lobby and then take a second set of elevators to the guest rooms (I was on the 8th floor).

10.0+The Hotel staff was amazing.. Very polite and made sure our stay was as comfortable and easy going as possible. The room was also amazing!!! Very spacious and clean and very comfortable beds.. I loved my stay at the Hilton and will be making this hotel chain my #1 choice when vacationing.-I loved everything!!

8.6+The lobby and rooms were nicely appointed. Probably one of the nicer lobbies I've seen - really pleasant to just hang out in.-The echoes and slightly dim lighting of the hallways reminded me of elementary school and just didn't give me the luxury vibe. The lighting room also gives it a rather downbeat feeling. I think some bright sconce lighting in both halls and rooms would really give some much needed energy without compromising the historical gravity of the re-purposed courthouse.

Location can't be beat, pool is nicer than embassy across street. Valet service is also way better than embassy....that's what I pay more for. AC never gets real cold for me...I stay here a lot when I attend hockey games...I always stay here or embassy across the street. I've been choosing Marriott because the valet for embassy is a zoo and takes forever when you try and leave in the morning but if Marriott doesn't fix their AC I'm gonna have to find something else.

9.6+they have just about all you need on site pool side bar, lobby bar, sports bar and grill that was able to get our home town games for us, upscale 4 star restaurant and an excellent spa... we went to Florida to hit the beech and found our selves struggling to find a reason to leave our hotel spa services were amazing cant say enough about the experience, do yourself a solid and book a message.-no on site parking you are forced to valet your car for 24$ a day and neither our booking site nor the mariot site see it fit to mention that... that said the valet service was good and we never had to wait long for our car

The woman who checked us in didn't seem to know what she was doing, but tried acting like she did. She charged our card for $489. When I told her we booked the room for $299 she said, "whatever I have on my computer is what you booked it for". I had to go back later that evening to have someone else adjust it. He was very friendly and saw that it was their mistake within seconds.

I called to extend my room. The agent told me that there were no rooms available, but when I checked online at their website they still had open rooms. I'm still not sure why I was declined to extend my stay. Also, we were unable to lower the air below 68 degrees in our room, and the shower took at least 10 minutes to get hot. Needless to say I will not be back to this location.

When I got my car back (Cadillac CTS/performance) the stuff in the trunk was all moved around and knocked over. This tells me that they drive my car like they stole it. Not appreciated. See above

The location of the property was great. It had to have been the worst stay I ever had at a property. We made a reservation weeks prior to our stay, when we checked in we were told that ther would be no food options because they were throwing a party. This should have been communicated to us on time of reservation. Plus the party could be heard rumbling throughout the property. Great. Sounded like it was next door. We asked for dog beds when we made our reservation and when we checked in No bed What a surprise. We called the front desk 3 time to make this happen. Would never book again.

The club level rooms with river view are gorgeous! Located in between two bridges that light up and right in the middle of River Walk, it is a great stay. The club lounge has breakfast in the morning (eggs, grits, bacon, sausage) and snacks throughout the day. Bottles of water and soda cans available too.

Checking in was excellent. Jairo - at the front desk - did a superb job. Day manager on duty once really solved my problem in regards to charging my GPS - excellent customer service. Valet Parking people were superb in providing customer service - they really like what they are doing - no matter the time of the day. Cleaning people forgot to refill restroom with toilet paper. One day beds were not made up, and forgot to refill in-room coffee maker with bags of coffee for next day.

4.7-The room was shabby and the shower didn't work right. The bed was saggy. The public restroom closest to my meetings had only one functional sink and one functional soap dispenser the entire 3 days I was there. The cleaning lady that serviced that restroom put the toilet bowl brush on the sink! Even with the deal I got through booking.com, the $ they ask for that place is outrageous. The restaurant was mediocre. Nice location. The free wifi was nice, but expensive to pay $18/day on top of the expensive room rate.

4.2+The hotel was very nice in appearance and the front office staff was extremely pleasant and inviting. Check-in / Check-out was very quick and professionally handled. The lobby bar service was exceptional and the Bartender, Rod, was fantastic. He handled a large group of people efficiently and friendly. The rooms were large and decorated nicely. Upon first entry everything looked like it was going to be great. Those were the highlights of the stay.-Unfortunately, you could see the massive renovations that were recently completed were either finished in haste or by a group of inexperienced contractors. The floors were extremely uneven and lumpy, the bathrooms tiles were uneven and the shower faucet was not even attached to the wall. The grout in the shower tile was mostly falling apart. Paint and finish work would also be seen as shoddy by someone even without appreciation to detail. Remember, this is supposed to be a stay in a luxury boutique hotel so guests should expect more for the rates charged. The bed was the hardest bed I ever "slept" in, not much sleeping because we were so uncomfortable. I can't begin to explain how hard it was but I actually contemplated laying on the lumpy floor at one point. Amazingly, no breakfast is served at this hotel and it's not in a great location to just walk next door. The lowlight was The Sapphire Room, we attended a private party there. We found the bartenders there to be rude and overwhelmed. Food was good but not great and at the end of the night, "friends of the hotel owners" (AKA, the bartenders friends) raided our food table. When confronted about the food raid, the group at least stopped eating but then the bartender told us that he would call the cops if we started any trouble and that they were friends. Certainly, one of the most ridiculous scenes I've ever experienced and the Manager was of no help. Needless to say, we will not be returning to this place for any reason. I must say, I found it difficult to rate this hotel because there really were some great things about it but the bad outweighed the good that swayed me to the two star rating. This place has so much potential but falls short of standing up to the many surrounding Downtown Tampa hotels there are to choose from. Look elsewhere if you want comfort and service.
