Cons: Couldnt fault it
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very good location
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We liked the way the hotel was designed, clearly great attention and detail was spend coming up with ideas. The execution was done perfectly. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, they wanted to make sure you were happy and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was incredible, did not even know what to choose! When we left, we got a goody bag with two bottles of water and cookies for on the road!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: the dekoration and the short way to the village
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was a beautiful hotel with great attention to detail. We loved the Jacuzzi in the bedroom. Very friendly staff. Good breakfast. Would definitely come back again.
Cons: Nothing!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The jaccuzzi should not allowed to be turn in after 10pm as the guest in the room above us had it on at 1 in the morning which kepted me awake with the noise
Cons: Noise from above room terrible no sleep because of this
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice, comfortable and excellent value
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Where do I start? Already in the garage we got to feel with how much love this hotel is run. Every little detail was harmonious. The reception was friendly and courteous. We felt comfortable right away. The room was tastefully furnished and had a whirlpool. What more do you want? All the rooms of the hotel are for your comfort: the breakfast room, the pool area, the bar etc. The breakfast also leaves nothing to be desired. All the individual wishes we had were implemented immediately - just great! I can therefore warmly recommend this accommodation. We will definitely come again! Many thanks to the hosts!
Cons: -
8.0 Excellent
Pros: kind helpful staff found me an appartment when hotel was full
5.7 Okay
Pros: close to the town
Cons: The bed is not comfortable, is the most important for hotel
6.0 Good
Pros: The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful; everyone spoke good English. When we asked where the bus stop to Santander was, they kindly provided us with a print out of the timetable. There is free parking on-site behind the hotel. The hotel is only 3 minutes walk from the medieval town centre. We didn't try the hotel's breakfast or dinner; but for breakfast I can highly recommend the corner bar that is on the way to the centre right at the big tourist parking opposite the tourist information.
Cons: The "double" bed was extremely small and not comfortable at all. Our feet were hanging over the edge - my boyfriend and I are not overly tall so I guess you need to be quite short in order to sleep in them in comfort. Also, we only had one pillow to share, but they provided us with a second one upon request. The reception is supposed to be open all night long, but they just leave the hotel door open and your room key on the reception desk. What might seem handy at first, is in fact very dangerous - anyone could walk in, take your key from the reception desk and burgle your room! Therefore I recommend not to leave the key with the receptionist. Overall, considering the low price, the hotel is still "good value for money".
5.7 Okay
Pros: Welcoming and friendly reception. Good location of hotel at walking distance of the center.
Cons: The hotel is situated along a pretty busy road so go for a room at the back and not on the ground floor- where the parking is. We changed rooms after day 1 because of the noice (and that of the kitchen airco at the outside wall). The hotel in general is pretty noisy as you can hear doors close and the reception phone ring. Bathrooms are good, room decoration pretty basic but ok I guess, though you would expect something extra special as the village is lovely. Breakfast seemed pretty basic but ok for the price I guess.
5.3 Okay
Pros: As we needed to leave the hotel around 8:30 a.m. next morning, we asked the receptionist to prepare the breakfast just before 8a.m. They kindly prepared it.
6.4 Good
Pros: Excellent location for old village and also good parking facilities. Easy access to all routes.
Cons: Windows on ground floor bedrooms left open after cleaning, poor security.
7.2 Good
Pros: Very friendly & helpful staff. Very clean. Well positioned for the old town, cafes & bars, tourist attractions (Caves, museum) We were able to walk everywhere.
Cons: The close proximity of the police station (almost opposite) meant that our car keys did not always work. Something to do with a radar device to prevent the remote detonation of explosive devices! Not the hotel's fault though, and they were quick to explain the reason, preventing a garage bill. I would also suggest that this "problem" does at least make this hotel a safe place to stay!!!
7.6 Good
Pros: very nice staff which try to help with very poor english... nice room, clean and confort. parking place. the location in a nice area. the breakfast is basic. good value for the cost.
Cons:
8.0 Excellent
Pros: It was very peaceful and we liked the decor.
Cons:
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel and location were brilliant in a lovely area. Delightful
Cons: There was not anything we did not like. The only recommendation would be more brochures / info on the area

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Everything else was great

8.3 Excellent
Pros: great location, lovely hostess, interesting town. Lovely view from our room. nice patio to sit outside and have drinks but you need to provide your own.
Cons: Internet didn't work, very basic breakfast , no hairdryer, no iron, no coffee or tea making facilities
6.3 Good
Pros: The place is very well located, close to the center of a very nice and lively village
Cons: Overal I was disappointed by the experience. Our room was quite dark and extremely noisy. The building really has a problem of soundproofing (we could hear people coming in or talking in their rooms as if they were sitting next to us). As a result, I was woken up several times a night. Breakfast was also disappointing: except for fresh orange juice, the rest was just low quality industial products, no cheese nor other alternative to sweet.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous location just a short walk from village centre. Spotlessly clean room & a very warm welcome.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The location was perfect and included free & easy parking. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. We loved our stay.
Cons: We thought breakfast was delicious, but do not expect a large American style buffet.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast served in by either the owner or another very friendly and helpful person.Very obliging. Simple but served with care.
Cons: Mattresses had rather thick rubbery covers on them which were hot as the weather was lovely. In fact mattress was the only thing that felt could be improved.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Lovely staff, perfect location and overall a good value
Cons: Space is a bit cramped, but we knew it would be small when we booked. Only major drawback was the bed and linens - even though it was a great value, I found myself really wishing for a more comfortable bed and sheets, and better quality towels. Also no AC, but luckily for us we had the right weather for that situation.
7.7 Good
Pros: Very well located near the Plaza Mayor. Beautiful architecture. Very clean and well kept.
Cons: The beds had old and unconfortable mattresses. The breakfast, which was included, was extremely bad. It consisted of bad coffee, a piece of bread and an industrial croissant. The next morning we had breakfast in town.
7.5 Good
Pros: nice location, friendly staff, free parking. room was very dark and noisy as it faced the street. don't expect water cooker/ hair dryer/ fridge in the room. breakfast very small and basic, all sweet (bread, jam, madalena & coffee), could be a bit more for the price.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The host was super nice and it was great to have a parking place. Breakfast was typical spanish but good. It was a very nice house and we can definitley recommend it.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: This hotel was a nice little getaway, the kids were able to hang out in the lounge downstairs and play across the street at the park. They also absolutely loved the whirlpool tub, a first for them! The rooms are very nice, the “double” bed was actually a rare King! The breakfast was perfect, everything you would want and they bake their own cakes right in the hotel.
Cons: The sloping roofs in the family rooms are a bit challenging, we definitely bumped our heads a couple of times!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Nice and clean
7.5 Good
Pros: Advertising about breakfast very misleading. Booking.com website says free breakfast. Property charged us 9 euros each for a continental breakfast. Continental breakfast not impressive, way over priced. Included only bread items, some lunch meat, very limited fruit offerings. Not much effort by innkeeper in making breakfast that is worth 9 euros each!

Pros: Javier, the clerk, was so wonderfully friendly and positive I could have packed him up with us and stolen him away. Right outside the front is a park with a kids playground which included a zip line to thrill the kids. The room was tight but that didn’t matter to us. The coffee served at breakfast was the best we had our entire trip - strong with warm milk. It was also very, very quiet.
Cons: Nothing!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and helpful staff. Great location in a very pretty town.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Friendly Staff Good location Parking
Cons: Room 103 should not be rented due to noise with hotel machinery Price is not corresponding to 2 star hotel even during high season

Pros: The hotel is in a perfect place, you don't need to think aout the car parking place, they have a safe spot just 50 meters away. The town is at your fingers, the breakfast is like in all hotels around, neither unique, neither bad. I would recomend to anyone who visit this place!

Pros: Great little balcony corner room.
Cons: Poor sound proofing and right on park. Kids playing very loudly till after midnight and another group stayed right in front of our balcony till after 1 am then the bar crowd started coming by so had to close the windows and wear earplugs to sleep. Finding hotel a bit of a challenge. Would select one on a quieter street.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and helpful staff and the hotel is in a great position.
Cons: The only negative for us was the fact that we thought we had booked a room on the ground floor and ended up on the top floor.

7.1 Good
Pros: Very friendly owners! They opened the kitchen a bit earlier for us, when we arrived really hungry. Breakfast had also a good choice. A lot of nice beaches and interesting towns can be easily reached by car from Tonanes.
Cons: We had the room at the ground floor, next to the entrance and reception, so it was quite noisy. Unfortunately people came to smoke just outside of our window all the time, so we had the cigarette smell in the room. This might not be the case in a different room though. The mattresses were not comfortable, they were quite old.

Cons: Very hard uncomfortable bed, no pillows in room besides one long shared pillow on double bed. Ash trays in rooms- not non-smoking.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I don’t usually leave reviews but honestly this is one of the best experiences I have ever had so I feel the need to share it. Since the moment you arrive the staff makes you feel like you’re at home, welcoming would be an understatement. The staff gives you a quick tour of the place, tells you about the history & then walks you up to your room. The room was not only cute and comfortable but also super clean!! The next morning I got to take advantage of their delicious breakfast. When it came time to checkout, once again the staff made sure to make me feel appreciated for my stay. There’s no doubt in my mind that if I ever return to Santillana Del Mar, this is where I want to stay. The location is a bit far from the center, but it is def worth the trip. The view is incredible!! HIGHLY recommend.

Cons: Didnt excist...

7.5 Good
Pros: Nice rural place. The lady only speaks spanish, but she was friendly.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A few days before my arrival they changed my accommodation for Posada La Victoria at Cudón just 2 km from El Pradón. For me it was perfect and the notes are for Posada La Victoria because in fact I was there, not in El Pradón :)
9.2 Excellent

Pros: Well conserved traditional house in the center of the villa
Cons: It does not have fridge
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location and spacious room!
Cons: There was a tad of a smell... old building.?? Maybe sewer?? Not enough to complain but it was there. Otherwise a great stay in a great town.
7.1 Good
Pros: The staff was helpful.
Cons: Unfortunately, our room was very noisy, we could hear all our neighbours snoring, speaking and walking around. The bathroom door could neither be closed nor locked. The breakfast was very basic and not very high quality. We found it overpriced compared to the room's conditions (noisy) and the breakfast.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is from a mdevial palace. Stay in the hotel is like living in a meusem.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great hotel in the middle of town. The hotel is fairly old, but that is part of the charm!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was delicious and they left the facility open for us even as we arrived at 10:30am very appreciated! They let us check in late as well without any issue. Very much appreciated the staff and location.
Cons: Expensive time of year to stay but understandable.
6.3 Good
Pros: Great location, Santillana del Mar was very pretty and lots of interesting things to do and see. Communal areas of the hotel were lovely
Cons: The bedroom was drab and bland, bed reasonably comfortable but the bathroom was in need of a lot of TLC
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Rooms were really comfortable and spacious bar down stairs was great was able to get my breakfast before 8 to let me get on with Camino
Cons: Couldn't stay longer
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful building, fun to be right in the heart of the old city. Helpful staff. We were able to store our bikes easily. They gave us good bar and restaurant suggestions. I was unable to bike the next day and they arranged transport for me and my bike to the next destination.
Cons: The tile floor in the bathroom was very slippery, which is how I injured myself and could not ride for the day. But slippery tile floors seem to be the norm everywhere, not just at this hotel.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location of the hotel and the estate itself. The staff.
Cons: Breakfast. Mini fridge in the room.

6.7 Good
Pros: Nice staff.
Cons: I got a smoker room. I was not aware of that and it smelled. Dinner and breakfast were poor quality.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: An excellent hotel that has all you need. Staff were brilliant and excellent breakfast. Good Irish pub next door. Definitely recommend this hotel.
Cons: Nothing.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great location, very helpful staff and they let me put my motorcycle in the garage at no charge. There's a nice bar next door, which serves excellent food at very reasonable prices.
Cons: The bed was pretty hard, it was obviously bought with longevity rather than comfort in mind.
7.5 Good
Pros: Friendly, English-speaking, staff, lovely rooms, great bathrooms and spotless On-site pub good for drinks & OK food Breakfast buffet was good value Noon checkout.
Cons: No bar in the actual hotel, you have to go to the pub for drinks, even water and coffee. Restaurant only serves a cold buffet in the evening. Spa access has to be booked, on arrival, for a time slot, we’d have preferred more flexibility.
7.5 Good
Pros: Food in the restaurant was a good standard and good value as a help yourself buffet for 15 euros. However it was a bit drab and soulless. Sadly we didn't have time to sample the Spa facilities. Nice views and sympathetic architecture although it would have been nice to have some information on the building.
Cons: Signage for the hotel could have been better as we passed it twice before spotting the signs. Four star hotels really should supply bottled water in the rooms in my opinion - especially as there were no water machines in the hotel that we could spot. Breakfast starting at 8.30 is a bit late for travellers.
5.8 Okay
Cons: No indoor pool, no sun terrace and extra charge to use indoor pool. Food was average
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Junior Suite was well appointed, beds were comfortable, Staff are great.
Cons: There was nothing to dislike
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wasn’t expecting much for the price being so close to Santander as everything else was so expensive, but it was a high class hotel, excellent facilities, even the use of the spar included in the price, staff were helpful food was too a high standard, definitely a good choice if anyone is looking at this hotel
Cons: Having to leave
6.3 Good
Pros: Very clean and comfortable. Location although a little remote great for access to Santillana and other towns in the area. There is an Irish bar next door which has reasonably priced food and drink and a burger bar a few mins walk down the road with fab views. Parking was good.
Cons: Very frustrated that hotel advertises itself as a spa hotel but with certain rooms, use of the spa must be paid for; 24 euros for 1.5hrs per person. I feel this is particularly poor as it does not state this anywhere when booking and the hotel is already expensive to stay in. We were extremely disappointed when we arrived at the spa in our robes (which are provided in the room???) only to be turned away. I would not pay this price purely for the room normally.

Pros: Staff was excellent
Cons: The hotel is a bit old and the rooms go accordingly. There is a parking but with not many spots, we couldn't make use of it
8.8 Excellent
Pros: - Good location - close to city center, beaches and restaurants - friendly and helpful staff
Cons: - Thin walls - you can hear neighbours. - breakfast - not enough warm dishes (only scrambled eggs/omelette) - paid parking - next to the hotel parking you need to pay, two Euros per night/day!\. The same at public parking approximately 200m away - small room as for 4-persons family
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great location in a historic building. Room was a bit dated but nice.
Cons: Internet was bad in our room - better in the reception area.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Staff, location, breakfast decor
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The decoration is spectacular and the location is perfect to see the surroundings that are full of history.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fernando at the reception desk was fantastic. He was courteous and gave us valuable advise on where to go. The hotel is beautiful and has a few free parking spots in front of the hotel.
Cons: We would have liked to have a safe and small fridge in the room.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful property with a wonderful welcome. The building and decor is amazing and the lady at reception was so warm and welcoming, giving us an umbrella as the weather was appalling.
Cons: Parking could have been explained prior as they have spaces opposite the hotel and we should have asked to reserve one of those. Only facility in room was a TV and phone, tea, coffee, water would have been a nice addition. Bathroom stuff was provided too. No lift and no one to help with bag when with 2 small children.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel itself is sooo comfortable. You could walk around for hours and look at all the details. It is not over-stuffed, very nicely done. We really liked the person at checking-in and out. He was very professional and at the same time he gave us a few tips what to see on our travel’s ahead.
Cons: The only negative were the waiter and his helper at Dinner time. Maybe we weren’t formally dressed. But if you do the Camino you don’t have many choices.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location, beautiful building which was very well maintained and the host was very helpful and friendly and went out his way to serve us breakfast outside.
Cons: Nothing

Pros: The decor of the hotel and in particular the vintage bikes
Cons: What a beautiful hotel, friendly staff, great food, excellent facilities, and located in a beautiful town and very close to the ferry port of Santander
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very well presented historic style hotel with Brill spa facilities. Furthermore great breakfast and not too far away from the old town. My partner particularly liked the many motor bikes displayed throughout the hotel.
Cons: You can't have everything in life but would have been nicer if not on the main road and was in centre of town, but Hey!

9.2 Excellent
Pros: The antique furniture and furnishings were like a stately home. With a fantastic collection of antique clocks around every corner.
Cons: Missed the air conditioning!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Good place to stay, next to old village.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very helpfull. The hotel is old style, beautiful. Clean. Good location.
Cons: The window lamp was shining all the night strait to my face - there was no possibility to cover it. I felt the plastic cover under my sheet - hate that. The sleep was poor.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location, great value, I would definitely recommend.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We made a stop here to visit the Altamira cave the following day. Personel is nice. Hotel is nice, and we ended having dinner there because almost all the restaurants in town were about to close because of the hour (around 9 pm).
Cons: That we had just a little time to enjoy the town, we were on the move. ;-)
7.5 Good
Pros: This is a 100 year old hotel. It is a kind of museum. They have accumulated much over the years. Clocks, paintings, furiture, and shelf stuff turned me arround and sent me down halls. This was a memerable stop in a quaint town.
Cons: Parking worked but we got the last slot. Otherwise you must walk a block or two. Not a hotel to compare to Hilton. This is a historic landmark.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a traditional inn (Posada) with a wonderful ambience and a very caring staff. The hotel exceeded our expectations...
7.1 Good
Pros: The hotel definitely has a historic charm, it is in an excellent location at the edge of the old centre of Santillana.
Cons: Our room was a bit disappointing on the 2nd floor, but we assume this is because we only stayed one night.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: 30 mins from Santander ferry, spotless rooms, helpful staff, great scenic town.
Cons: No secure parking for my bike (though it was OK) Food selection not great, evening meal lacking something here. Though not expensive to be fair
6.7 Good
Pros: Location is great, right next to the pedestrian area. The common areas are interesting to look at and there is a lot of antique furniture and the building itself is clearly old but well maintained.
Cons: The family room was really just a twin room, certainly not a room with two full size doubles. The room itself was very tight and decor very worn. The bathroom was also tight.
