The location is good, it is a good size hotel. The staff is very good and friendly and helpful. The air-conditioning in the room was great, Best I have seen in 20 years of travel. It was much better than our last stay. They couldn't find our reservation, they gave us a room we didn't reserve. Short of staff, we had to wait 45 minutes to checkin and that was a because we were diamond member, others waited much more. The food quality not so good. And the pool wasn't cleaned. The lobby is very big but no one there to help. One person per department.
The kindness and quality of service of all employees, quality of food, the great effort from everybody to entertain all guests. We even had a fabulous Mexican party!! The beach, not the hotel's fault, although the hotel could clean the beach a little bit
Staff was wonderful and very accommodating. Views were lovely. Pools and grounds were clean. Food was fairly good - Stick to Mexican in Mexico and you won't be disappointed! Staff didn't notify us when maintenance was being done on hot water, but answered questions at front desk when we called.
Norhing Club rooms are smaller than regular rooms. Management very poor in dealing with challenges.
The pools, beach view are breathtaking. Beach is not accessible because of strong current, but that didnt matter to us...we'd rather to be in the pool anyway. Being in an All Inclusive, we don't have to hassle about where to eat and that's really nice. Food was good, I mainly got seafood and lots of pineapple juice. Yum! We went during the 1st week of October -- perfect timing! Not a lot of people, but that could be because it just recently reopened (Sept 15) or it's still hurricane season? Every staff we came across has been VERY nice and helpful. Overall, even with the visit from a cockroach, we'd definitely come back and we highly recommend the place. There's a cockroach in our bathroom. Trapped it and called service to dispose it. We kept the bathroom lights on at night thereafter. We don't want to step on something squishy in the middle of the night!
We had a fantastic view of the ocean from our room - seriously amazing. The resort was beautiful and the staff were all friendly, helpful, and spoke really good English. The spa was so relaxing and pretty. Overall I really wish we had stayed longer. We were meeting up with my sister, my brother-in-law, and her two nieces so it was a perfect situation. Loved that food was available 24/7 including the desserts! Loved that food was available 24/7 including the desserts! The food was hit or miss - Mexican food was fantastic of course! We loved the Japanese place as well. The French place was mostly good but not quite the level you'd expect. We didn't get to try the Spanish or Italian place. There is little nightlife at the resort itself.
The rooms and hotel are very nice. The location is great for the views, but far from downtown Cabo San Lucas and you won't be spending much time at the beach or in the ocean. We had multiple experiences where are food and food service were subpar. A number of us also got VERY sick (food poisoning symptoms) and when I went to report it to the front desk we were treated as if we were just drunken who were hungover. There were two evenings where we went to dinner and most meals were brought out at random times, including a dinner where we had three separate tables sat at once and it took 2.5 hours until each table was finished due to how long it took for the various portions of the meal to arrive. I heard their Cancun location and service was very nice, but I would not recommend staying at this location.
I felt like I was on a big cruise ship! Everything you needed was right at the resort! Beautiful, amazing! I didn't like the fact that the adults only pool Had no music. It was quiet and secluded. I would've enjoyed mr worldwide/ someone over there to have music going for the adult only guests.

Grounds We reserved a 3BR Grand Penthouse Villa. When we arrived, it was unavailable. So we had to move rooms after the first night. Then, the villa they gave us was in a construction zone with jackhammering all day. We really couldn't even use the room during the day as it was unbelievably noisy and loud. They gave us a discount but it wasn't worth it as our family of 7 had a lousy vacation due to their awful level of service. We'll never come here again.
The Hotel and Grounds were very clean and well maintained. The staff was always friendly and available if needed. Having never been to the San Jose area before. We usually stay in Cabo San Lucas. We were surprised that there weren't any activities that are located in San Jose. There wasn't much for the kids to do, so we spent a lot of time going to Cabo for activities.
The Resort is beautifully designed . Super clean. Great pools. Service and staff were on par. Great kids pool with fun slide. We had a great time staying in this luxurious resort. We will return . Food was ok there is a lot better in town. The wifi needs serious help. Sales pitch for Diamond Resorts was not too intrusive use your best judgement ...
The pool and grounds were beautiful. Rooms were very spacious with full kitchens and large baths. Room and bathroom lighting was very poor. Wireless internet did not work in individual villas. Internet was an extra charge.
Gorgeous all around. One note of advice would be for rooms to include bottles of water. You get incredibly thirsty in the heat and not having water in the room daily creates tremendous anxiety.
The meals were good enough. They had options for meat eaters and the cooking was right. They should have more vegetarian options, like vegetarian beans as protein, rice. Booking restaurants are very good! But book with time... Even when they have availability you won't get a table without a reservation. And when you book, ask them what food are you booking for. The last night of our trip we wanted to eat Italian food and we got the reservation. When we got there they sat us and gave us the menu, we were ordering and all of a sudden they took away our menus and told us that night wasn't Italian but all about fish! We don't eat fish! We had to go and eat at the buffet. Just be aware. They don't advertise on any website searcher that you shouldn't swim at the sea, or that is dangerous. We love the beach, my son is five and enjoys playing in the water. This time we couldn't do that because we didn't know about the fact you barely can get in the water. It's very rough! An adult can handle it but a kid, no. That was disappointing because we love to sit at the beach and play... But the part that is just horrible, being honest, it's the cleanliness of the rooms. 0 stars on this! The rooms smell pretty bad. Like old and wet. There was dirt on the floor that you can see and feel under your feet if you like to walk barefoot. The bathroom doesn't have ventilation so any smell gets stuck in the walls. They don't clean the showers!!! We found hairs, old soap and mold stuck to one corner of the shower and I had to shower with flip flops on... The rooms need to be updated. Pretty much everything was falling apart. Lamps dirty, beds and pillows lumpy, the telephone in the rooms work when they wanted, sink broken, chairs stained, curtains cover in dust and smelly. Any way, be aware that the hotel hasn't had a good maintance and it's very DIRTY
We had a supreme ocean view room which had to be the room used for the picture perfect postcard. It looked out over the pools toward the ocean so we woke up to a spectacular view every morning. The staff from waiters to maid services was very friendly and prompt in providing all our needs. We hired babysitters on 3 different evenings for our grandchildren and were very pleased with their loving care. Tipping is not required but much appreciated as they don't make much in wages. The food could come up a notch in flavor but the variety presented at every buffet should suit everyone.
The staff was overall very kind and accommodating. Not allowing an earlier checkin, not a moment before 3pm, is a little inconvenient.
We've stayed in the San Jose / Los Cabos area a few times and we like the Hotels proximity to nearby shopping centers. Most of the staff were very pleasant except for a lady who worked at the front desk as well as a lady who worked the grill at the restaurant by the pool. The two most important things we want when booking an all-inclusive vacation is a room with a wonderful view and good food. We booked an ocean view room. When we entered our room on the second level, all we saw were trees, the pool and if we looked hard enough…. we saw a little bit of the the ocean. Our room was # 2218. We always book ocean view rooms when traveling to a beach resort and we were alway pleased with the view until this trip. To say the least, we were very disappointed. After some hesitation, I called the front desk to voice my concerns with the "Ocean View". The gentleman who answered the phone, after listening to my concerns, said "That's what you paid for." I again told him that all I see is trees, the pool and people in bating suits. I requested a room that doesn't have trees blocking the view. He told me that he didn't have one at the moment and that I can call in the morning to get a better room. The next morning I walked down to the lobby to see about getting a better view. The lady at the front desk had this annoyed look on her face. She told me that I have an ocean view room. I again explained to her that the view is blocked by trees. It was a palm tree and a short fuller tree to be exact. Being on such a low level any obstacle would block your view but come on…. two trees is ridiculous. I told her that on the hotels website, the picture of their "ocean view" was spectacular and that is what I was expecting or at least something close. She stilled had that annoyed look on her face. I told her that I don't mean to be difficult but I want what I paid for. Long story short, I moved to a partial ocean view on the 5th floor. Room 2517. It over looked The Grand Solaris Hotel ( I had a beautiful ocean view there a few years ago) and the ocean. The partial ocean view was way better than the no view "ocean view" room. What a joke. The first day there we went to the restaurant by the pool for lunch. It was small in comparison to other resorts. I assume it's because the Barcelo resort is on the small side. There was a line of 6 people waiting to order their grilled item. The Lady grilling was grilling one or two requests at a time. It took forever to get your grilled Item. The gentleman in front of me asked for three chickens..I'm sure it's because he didn't want to wait in line again and I didn't blame him. The grill lady looked at him and said " Three??" I felt bad for the poor guy. He looked embarrassed. The next day I was in line with 1 lady in front of me. She asked for 2 fish, I asked for 2 and the lady behind me asked for two. The fish is on the small side so asking for two seemed reasonable. She put all 6 fish on the grill, an improvement from the day before. When she plated my fish, she gave me 1. I asked for the other one. She gave me a dirty look and gave a small piece that broke off another fish. This lady should not be dealing with guests. She is very rude. I wish I can write more but I'm out of characters.
The location was fantastic. The resort and grounds were beautiful. The room was very clean with nice amenities. I would stay again but not do the all-inclusive package next time and go off-site for my meals. The food quality for this level of resort was sub-par. Everything was very bland. It also appears they need more wait staff. We stayed for only 1 night but made a reservation at the on-site Mexican restaurant. Our dinner took over 2 hours, each dish was below expectation and the portions were tiny. On a separate occasion, I observed a worker in the buffet take a scoop of guacamole, put his finger in it, taste it, then place the spoon back in the guacamole!

This hotel is a great value for the money. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Extensive food choices should satisfy just about anyone. The low rise terra cotta colored building and the native landscaping create an inviting atmosphere. Location--the hotel abuts a nature preserve on one side so nothing commercial can ever be built there; also, very close to town. There is an adults only quiet pool as well as areas for families with children. Free parking. We have stayed at this property 6-7 times over a period of about twenty years, and it's showing its age a little. Some towels were worn and frayed (sheets were fine), and dishware was chipped. Some wooden furniture in the rooms is showing wear and tear. Decor could use some color and local art.
Location. The proximatity to shopping is convenient for all the items you could not bring or forgot to pack. Pool bartender was great as was the staff at Luna. Requests and exceptions for items in the mini bar or safe function were not attended to during the stay.

The staff is wonderful and friendly. I felt like they went the extra mile to accommodate my needs and requests. The rooms are modern and clean. I didn't like the fact that their jacuzzi closes at 6pm. I wish it would stay open longer. Their seafood selection at the buffet needs to be expanded.
The rooms were clean and the staff were helpful. The grounds seemed to be well kept. The inroom safe, wi-fi and several other amenities were not included in the all inclusive rate. This fact is not metioned in the advertising. The Hotel wants an additional $32.50 per day for these items. The Hotel provides only one selection of white wine and it's Chardonnay. For those who like Chardonnay this is OK. For those who want a different type of white wine you are required to buy it and these choices are verrry expensive. There was absolutely no seafood on the menu other than fish.

La chica de recepción que se llama África es la mejor de todas siempre al servicio del cliente y con mucha amabilidad. La comida es un punto que creo q deben mejorar, poca variedad y de calidad media. en algunas habitaciones el sonido del show que hacen en las noches es incomodo para el que quiere estar relajado a esa hora, en nuestro caso la primera noche tuvimos que tratar de dormir con esa incomodidad pero al día siguiente nos cambiaron de habitación y se resolvió el problema aunque todavía no escapamos del todo del ruido del show...
Because of miscommunication on my girlfriend's part. brought our dog with us. Within minutes Sophie found a special dog boarding place nearby. They even came and picked up digger. The resort is great for beachside pool resort Food was ok. But we weren't there for the food
Great location, right on the beach. Outdated. Refrigerator did not work, headboard to bed was loose and rocked all night, room needs updating as there was rust everywhere.
The staff was courteous and the food was relatively good. The beach is nice and it's great that the place is not too crowded. The bedrooms need updating and the beach chairs had some issues. The quality of the facilities is not great.
I was very happy that they let us check in early & upgraded the room to ocean view. Also got an all inclusive armband for drinks & breakfast. Price was right for 1 night stay. I had to pay for dinner and it was mediocre. Should have gone offsite. Not there for food, just a bed & bathroom before getting on dive boat next morning.
We always stop at Posada Real on our way to our time share in Cabo Del Sol to get into the Mexican way of life. The beach and waterfront is fabulous and the pool waiters take care of everything you could want. Before we even could settle ourselves in a lounge chair, they were handing us a Margarita. Everyone was extremely friendly and no one pushed us to attend a time share meeting. Good place to decelerate. The beds were like sleeping on bricks..but how long does anyone stay in their bed?
It was the diriest , smelly, dilapidated, no elevators moldy bathrooms dirty linens I am getting my money back somehow. Has anybody been to this place to rate it. People are getting stuck with an abusive place because by the time you get there you have our money and they don't give a dam basically.
Just about everything was filthy. Pool had scum, floors were dirty. We opted not to eat there. Staff was awesome. Wished it was a cleaner hotel.

The room was nice with a good view The construction noise from re-building of the hurricane damage but this could not be helped and as I understand it needed to be done to get things back in order.
All inclusive nature is so convenient. Despite the rooms being a little dated, it was very clean and the beds respectable. The facilities are very good and they have a great kid area with water slides and day care. There is also a nice adult only area with heated pool and jacuzzi. The main pool is mixed use. Food I'd good, not great. WiFi was strong throughout the resort area and worked well with Netflix. Value was very good overall. This resort is in San José del Cabo, which is very pretty, but not the "main" Cabo, which Cabo San Lucas. The advantage to San Jose del Cabo is convenience to the airport (20 mins), but the undertow in the ocean is such that they don't want you going in the water and there are no major attractions. Cabo San Lucas has they famous "arch", shopping and markets. As soon as you get off the plane you'll be pitched time share. Our " assigned concierge" at the hotel was also one. However, once we said "no", we were left alone for the duration of our stay. It's stupid, that they would tell you would get better rates booking direct than through Kayak and undermine their agents, but they do. Service at the hotel was OK. Often found ourselves waiting for drink refills, but good overall and they are very nice. The gym is too small, old and dilapidates. Look elsewhere if a gym is that important to you.

Marco Polo was decent and enjoyed the food. The pool area was good. Staff were friendly. Lounge area in the main area was nice with the good service. Our son and family was there as well and the kids club was enjoyed. Maid who cleaned our room did an excellent job. Resort was small with not enough selection for eating. Buffet food was poor quality with not enough American/Canadian selection if you didn't like Mexican. Lounge chairs were packed together at poolside. As a general guest felt substandard to the Time Share members. Theater productions way to loud. Large number of staff with poor communications skills. Shouldn't have to pay for on-site shows if at an all inclusive like Disney and pirate show. Paid extra for ocean view and were facing a concrete wall, walkway and a construction mess on the backside of the hotel with only a side view of the ocean.
Room view was of pool and ocean. Bed was actually comfortable. Mini Fridge cool. Place to hang your suit to dry in bathroom. Convenient parking lot--attended gate. Allowed us an hour late check out. Convenient block near Mega and a few nicer resorts, shops across the street. Ocean front. Big enough room towels. Wrist Bands, food tickets, coupons for everything that you can't use until you've been there a full day....? why?, fried food smells, smoking by the pool, loud speaker with nattering cheerleader type, loud music, not enough outlets, no ceiling fan, not luxury at all, very basic, place for young college aged kids or travelers with small children. Room had loud and intense humming buzz. TV had poor reception and streaks running through every picture. Karoake??!! in the bar. Fountain is just PVC pipe sticking out of low pond. Was for just one night and I was so glad was only one night. pool looked gross, didn't go in. We had been at luxury property next door for rest of trip and needed one night due to wonky travel plans. Was an abrupt change of venue. There is a gym but it looked quite small. If you just need a place to hang your towel--this will do. Has old European feel in the lobby, rooms are pretty basic. If can get one of the large ones at the South end/ocean front--might be worth it. Had to go to 3 ice machines to find one that either worked or had ice.

Was on the beach which was nice. Some staff were very helpful and nice. Front desk was rude. Too family oriented for a bachelorette group to stay and enjoy the pool and restaurants. Restaurants were not accommodating for reservations.
Nice facilities, friendly staff, beautiful pool Lunch selection and quality was mediocre at best. Worst hamburger of my life; thin, wet, and mushy. There is no way that was beef.
Was very disappointed how they tried to rope us into buying a time share.
