Primero de Mayo
Super attentive staff. Very friendly, some were funny. The best food of any resort we've stayed at previously. Rooms were romantic, views were gorgeous. Great pools, lots of seating, chairs, outdoor activities. Cant' wait to go back! Nothing.
The resort is beautiful, but that's as far as it goes. The staff is friendly, but tough to come by. I'd suggest going elsewhere The worst part is the food. On each night of our stay, we went outside the property for dinner, which is terrible given how much we paid.
The Resort is beautifully designed . Super clean. Great pools. Service and staff were on par. Great kids pool with fun slide. We had a great time staying in this luxurious resort. We will return . Food was ok there is a lot better in town. The wifi needs serious help. Sales pitch for Diamond Resorts was not too intrusive use your best judgement ...
Grounds We reserved a 3BR Grand Penthouse Villa. When we arrived, it was unavailable. So we had to move rooms after the first night. Then, the villa they gave us was in a construction zone with jackhammering all day. We really couldn't even use the room during the day as it was unbelievably noisy and loud. They gave us a discount but it wasn't worth it as our family of 7 had a lousy vacation due to their awful level of service. We'll never come here again.
The staff was overall very kind and accommodating. Not allowing an earlier checkin, not a moment before 3pm, is a little inconvenient.
The meals were good enough. They had options for meat eaters and the cooking was right. They should have more vegetarian options, like vegetarian beans as protein, rice. Booking restaurants are very good! But book with time... Even when they have availability you won't get a table without a reservation. And when you book, ask them what food are you booking for. The last night of our trip we wanted to eat Italian food and we got the reservation. When we got there they sat us and gave us the menu, we were ordering and all of a sudden they took away our menus and told us that night wasn't Italian but all about fish! We don't eat fish! We had to go and eat at the buffet. Just be aware. They don't advertise on any website searcher that you shouldn't swim at the sea, or that is dangerous. We love the beach, my son is five and enjoys playing in the water. This time we couldn't do that because we didn't know about the fact you barely can get in the water. It's very rough! An adult can handle it but a kid, no. That was disappointing because we love to sit at the beach and play... But the part that is just horrible, being honest, it's the cleanliness of the rooms. 0 stars on this! The rooms smell pretty bad. Like old and wet. There was dirt on the floor that you can see and feel under your feet if you like to walk barefoot. The bathroom doesn't have ventilation so any smell gets stuck in the walls. They don't clean the showers!!! We found hairs, old soap and mold stuck to one corner of the shower and I had to shower with flip flops on... The rooms need to be updated. Pretty much everything was falling apart. Lamps dirty, beds and pillows lumpy, the telephone in the rooms work when they wanted, sink broken, chairs stained, curtains cover in dust and smelly. Any way, be aware that the hotel hasn't had a good maintance and it's very DIRTY
Location. The proximatity to shopping is convenient for all the items you could not bring or forgot to pack. Pool bartender was great as was the staff at Luna. Requests and exceptions for items in the mini bar or safe function were not attended to during the stay.
The rooms were clean and the staff were helpful. The grounds seemed to be well kept. The inroom safe, wi-fi and several other amenities were not included in the all inclusive rate. This fact is not metioned in the advertising. The Hotel wants an additional $32.50 per day for these items. The Hotel provides only one selection of white wine and it's Chardonnay. For those who like Chardonnay this is OK. For those who want a different type of white wine you are required to buy it and these choices are verrry expensive. There was absolutely no seafood on the menu other than fish.
Food - Activities - Beach - ALL INCLUSIVE - Price Everything worked excellent!
When I booked this hotel I went with the deluxe view king and when I checked in she told me all she had was this room with 2 beds. I said i guess it will have to be OK. When we got up there we had a view of the pool and the only place you could see the ocean was out on the very small deck. I would have understood in a normal situation but my son and his girlfriend who checked in at the same time had booked a regular room like the one we ended up with. Was told that they would give them a free upgrade and they got a nice King bed room with a full view of the ocean!!! Not sure what happened on that one. Everything but the bar closed by 8. When we went over to the desk that tells us about everything she asked how long we were staying. When we told her one night we were then treated like second class citizens. Not a great place to stay.
We loved the whole experience. Staff were very welcoming, room was wonderful, very clean, proximity to the marina was so fun to watch the boats coming in and out. The private beach was very nice. I only wish we were closer to downtown.
Beautiful, nice and quiet hotel. Away from everything. Private beach was beautiful, calm and relaxing. Food at the restaurant was delicious. Each room was stocked daily with complementary beer and water. If any assistance is needed in the hotel.. Ask for Alex.... He is awesome. Only 2 guest allowed per room, far away from everything. If young, I would recommend staying in San Lucas. Supervisor was very rude and does not have customer service skills. Wouldn't not stay again due to too many hotel restrictions. Also, you cannot bring any alcohol, outside food or drinks to your room. They want everything to be purchased through the hotel.
I was very happy that they let us check in early & upgraded the room to ocean view. Also got an all inclusive armband for drinks & breakfast. Price was right for 1 night stay. I had to pay for dinner and it was mediocre. Should have gone offsite. Not there for food, just a bed & bathroom before getting on dive boat next morning.
Great beach. Quiet. Good food. Was not wheelchair friendly at all as advertised. Lack of ramps or too steep. Staff was not willing to help.
The One and Only in Palmilla is the ultimate in luxury. The rooms are stunning, the service is incredible (you walk around and they respond to you by your last name) and don't miss Agua by Charlie Trotter. He has two restaurants here, but I liked Agua better due to its ambiance and its food selection. Plus the prices aren't as steep!
Having stayed at many 5 star resorts around the world, The One & Only Palmilla has been my favorite. There was NOTHING I did not LOVE about this place! Excellent food and drinks! Excellent service! Incredibly beautiful property!
THE BEST HOTEL WEVE EVER STAYED AT ! THE STAFF ARE AMAZING, THE SERVICE , THE FOOD WAS GREAT, THE POOLS, AND FOOT MASSAGES, MY THANKS TO OUR BUTLER CARLOS ALWAYS THERE WHEN YOU NEEDED HIM,GIFTS EVERY NIGHT! WE WERE SPOILED, BEACH SERVICE TOO! AMADO WE THANK YOU
Everything was fantastic. The people were attentive. Food was great. Atmosphere was incomparable.
My wife and I traveled here for our 12th anniversary in September and we are still raving about it. There is not one thing I would change! By far the service is the most attentive and outgoing of any 5 star hotel I have ever stayed. The grounds are manicured perfectly. The staff all know your name and there is nothing you can't ask them that they would not do. The Villa's are incredible with amazing fews, ample space and the best bathroom I have ever been in. This hotel thinks of everything! The food was also incredible. We will be back!
Just got back from the Palmilla. One of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. The rooms are perfect, and the bathrooms to die for!! Will be returning next year!!
We took our young kids 3 & 5 and had a very relaxing time. The staff is very accomodating. You'll feel like you are on their own compound. Very safe and secure. Always a staff around even in the early dark morning hours on the grounds keeping it up. If you want a luxury feel at a very upscale place then this is the place. We saw 1 singer and 1 celebrity at the pool with their kids but everyone respects their privacy.
Our Palmillas experience began the moment we stepped out of the airport. We were transported by hummer to the resort and felt immediately cared for. The resort was immaculate! Not a bug or weed in sight, the beautiful gardens blooming, doves cooing and everything clean and hygienic. The staff were gracious, polite and detail oriented, always prepared to care for you and get you anything you wanted or needed without being overwhelming. Our room was gorgeous and it was above the beautiful, swimmable beach. We had panoramic views of the bay and the sound of the waves right outside. Our bed was super comfortable and clean (down pillows yeah!). The bathroom was vast, luxurious and well appointed. On the second day, I found a sewing kit that had been tailored to the colors of my wardrobe! The attention to detail was evident everywhere. Nothing was short of luxurious and everything was maintained perfectly. There were little, carved wooden blocks you could set out by your sun lounger which signaled to the staff whether you wanted to sleep, be left alone or needed service. The same system worked on the beach using flags. Every day there were ice buckets with water, cooling, aloe facial mist, and small treats like sorbet or mini ice creams were handed out. The food was really good, especially the Cevice and fish dishes, all made with such fresh ingredients it was like a party in your mouth! Nighttime was ultra romantic with soft lighting along the pathways, beautiful ambiance in all the eaterys and again, warm, attentive staff at every turn. Some say this place is ‘over priced’. Yes, it’s expensive, but we have stayed at ‘The Tides’ in Playa Del Carmen and ‘The Ritz Carlton’ in the Grand Cayman, both were comparable pricewise and Palmillas blew them out of the water! It was worth every dollar and far exceeded our expectations. For those who want to go and save money, the breakfasts are huge and could easily be shared. You can also cab very easily into San Jose Del Cabo and dine in the town for less. We did this a few times and it was very enjoyable. I can’t say enough about this luxury resort, it was perfect!
This was the first stop of my honeymoon, before heading to Asia's best hotels. And none of the 8 other hotels we visited compared to this one. This has got to be the best hotel we've stayed in ever! And the food is exquisite.
