If you don’t mind being surprised with last minutes fees and charges, advantage rent a car is for you. I needed a 4 day rental for a drive to Denver, but since I lived in the same city as where I chose to rent the vehicle, I was only allowed150 miles, and everything over that would be charged 50 cents per mile unless I bought a mileage package. This place is a joke... I will only rent from hertz from here on out!!3.2 Poor

I had a guaranteed mid-size vehicle which I needed for extensive driving while in town. I arrived and only a minivan was available. After much arguing and waiting, and more waiting, a midsize came available. It smelled like smoke and had large burn holes on the seats and across the interior. not at all what I expected.Hertz

The person at check in counter clearly was called in last minute to complete online reservations. Due to the storm apparently the location doesn't add any insurance or prepaid gas. Horrible service and rushed. I ended up declining the car because I didn't feel comfortable driving without any coverage. By the time I came back up he was gone.2.0 Poor

Staff seemed lacking in customer service. Kept trying to upsell on everything and did not seem genuine. All of the cars seemed to smell like either wet dog, cigarette smoke, or a combination of both. We ended up with a vehicle that smelled like cigarettes which made us smell like smoke our entire trip. Overall, was not enjoyable.10.0 Wonderful

The employee when I picked up at San Antonio International the agent tried to sell me an “upgrade” from a premium SUV to a minivan. I have no choice but to take some japanese scrap metal Nisson. I head to the exit and find another long line and wait. I have to say I was very concerned after paying for the car months before we left on our trip, I didn't check the reviews (could have been a disaster). I read the reviews and the reviews were horrible. 2 out of 10 had a good experience. I tried to cancel our reservation because I was that concerned I had made a big mistake. I couldn't cancel the reservation because it was already paid for. I read about the filthy, dented cars, break downs and rude employees. We didn't have any of that. We did have a crack in the windshield but everything was recorded by an attendant. Our vehicle was clean and no issues with it's mechanics.Cons:

Flt was late. They would not stay open a hour later. They did not answer the phone the next day, it was during the winter storm in San Antonio Texas so as assumed they were closed along with everything else. The Following day after we booked another car as we were walking by they told us it was not canceled so we took that car but at this time we still had to pay for two carsCons:

A bit more concerned of a customers time. After making a reservation and then waiting to get the keys for 30 minutes is frustrating. Using COVID as an excuse to do a mediocre job at best and moving the key pickup to the drop off is ridiculous and confusing. Car was filthy. Smelled like cigarettes or pot. no one told me where to drop off the car correctly. The signs sucked and I had to call back 3 times, put on hold numerous times. Also it took me 2 days to get a receipt. I and no proof I dropped off the car. I handed they guy the keys and was told they would email a receipt. I called up 3 times and finally was told it was taking awhile since I dropped it off a different place I picked it up that they had to have the place I picked up close the account so I can get the bill.
