Pros (+) Two of the four front desk staff with whom I interacted were incredibly helpful and friendly; the other two not so much (see negatives). Great beds, nice rooms. Ideal location.
Cons (-) I had lost my phone in a local taxi and the driver tried to return it to me a few hours later when it was discovered. The front desk staff on the night shift refused to call my room to let me know she had it. Subsequently, the entire next day I was making calls to try to locate it. Pros (+) The room was bigger than we anticipated. It was really big. The location is great; very close to grand central station. It was quiet and better than staying in times square. There were several restaurants near by and 5th avenue was just a few blocks away. Hotel staff was very nice and helpful. We were pleased.
Cons (-) The fixtures in the bathroom were coming off the walls. Cleanliness was a tiny bit off. Looked like either blood or ketchup on the curtains (I am going with ketchup). Need to stay above 7th floor or you will hear the music from the lounge. Could have used a microwave/refrigerator.
