We stayed only one night and it was perfect! We loved the location. Parking is 200mts far from the Hotel. Very clean. Quite big rooms. Toilett separated from the shower and sink. Bathroom stuff complete (shampoo, aconditioner etc). The staff speaks english. Stairs carpets a little bit old.
Location is excellent and gives the possibility to investigate the old Lyon. Hotel is also close to metro
Central location and friendly staff. The bed could have been a bit more comfortable.
great location. Perfect for exploring lyon!
Location. Good bathroom facilities. Helpful staff. Lift was temperamental. Carpet getting shabby.
Cool bedroom are a must, these were good
Proximity to the city centre, all shops and sights within easy walking distance. Spacious room. Quiet, room was at the back of the hotel so no nuisance from traffic noise. Not really any negative points except to say some might find the choice at breakfast limited, and might not appreciate to have a room with no view. But then one doesn't go to Lyon to stay in the hotel all day!
location and a very large bed ,our room was on a corner so we had great views carpet very worn on stairs, and the price of breakfast a bit high.
excellent central location gave easy walking access to most tourist sites
The Location, the staff, the room, the price The street is loud at night, so remember earplugs
the room, 716, was under the restaurant, and very very noisy until 1 o clock in the morning.
Hotel staff was great! Run down, dirty room with worn furniture, mildew in shower. Not at all up to Sofitel standards
Really good in every terms. I am thinking to go there again i the near future
There was renovation work in the hotel. We could mot sleep because of the noise .That is why we have stayed only one night instead of 10 nights
The nice view of the bar on the 8th floor
Hotel staff is really excellent. The beds are incredible, never seen something like that. Good location. Nothing.
Helpful staff Having to pay a €20 supplement for a river - facing view
Very attent personnel, excellent panaramic view on the city at breakfast and bar. Even at breakfast, i was being served pasteries and coffee without having to stand up...excellent service. no welnesscenter to relax after a busy working day.
really pleasant staff and magnificiant lobby. great location for shopping in this nice city. really clean rooms. bedrooms could need a little style refreshment.
Very handy for walking and within the areas of interest and to Gare Perrache (railway station).Sofitel is above average standard and within expectation for a good four star hotel. Hotel bistro was very good indeed. The breakfast view area over the city was excellent however the prepared fruit selection and sometimes quality was not as good as expected though still overall breakfast very good.
The very courteous and caring concierges at the door on arrival unloading the car, taking care of the luggage diligently and assuring that the car would be parked securley and safely.
The staff were helpful beyond expectation. The location is fantastic. We had a corner room and the view from every window was stunning. The decor is very stylish and the hotel has wonderful little rooms to sit and enjoy tea/cpfee or just to read or chat. nothing
We loved the decor in the hotel especially the bar which is spectacular. Although we had booked a superior room we were given the smallest, most out of the way room in the hotel. The attitude of the hotel staff was far from helpful or friendly.
I wonder why for 2 consecutive days, the shampoo and soap were not replaced. I needed to ask them before I can have it.
I stayed at hotel with a friend of mine. I had given my credit card information when I booked a room (16th of Nov.). We were asked to pay at information desk at hotel and my friend paid by her credit card. When I checked my credit card payment I saw that the room rate of 340 Euro was also taken from me. I have written to the hotel and waiting for reply.
Staff was great and very accomidating Keyed lock to room was difficult to operate for my wife.
The room was beautiful, the bed was incredibly comfy, and the rest of the hotel was lovely too. Staff are very friendly and the location is brilliant - perfect for a city break.
Excellent room accomations. Outstanding decor. Pleasant staf. No.
I was supprized that my reservation was canceeled when I arrived, but I maneged to find another one
The hotel is well located and is excellent.
Comfortable, welcolming, clean, proximity to great sites and restaurants in Lyon I resent paying extra for wi fi!
The hotel was very central with easy access to shopping and the historical sites. The hotel was self contained and was very well equiped. Some minor maintenance issues (shower head can not be adjusted from waist height, towel drying rack is coming off the wall and instructions for dishwasher/griller etc only in French)
1) Nicely equipped kitchenette just buy your oil, salt, sugar than u have everything to cook 2) Superb location 1) Slow elevators, if you don't wanna waste your time stay in lower flats 2) In summer lots of noise coming from the street, as it is very busy, no air condition so you have to open the windows and run the fan 3) Old furniture, worn out 4) Only cable internet however its relatively fast er than wifi 5) Once in a week cleaning isn't good
Nice room, LCD tv set, the staff was all right. You have to walk at least 10 minutes to find a subway station.
Lyon is an amazing city. The apartment was in a great location in terms of the shopping district, the sites and there are two underground stops not far away. The apartment was spacious and well equipped. There were mosquitos, which was awful!Make sure to come with anti-mosquito sprays. Also the apartment looks over a very busy and very noisy bar/pub area which made it really difficult to sleep.Though the windows are doubleglazed etc. In Summer, I could imagine it being unbearably warm.
Location was excellent for the sightseeing and resturants There was a lack of convienence shops in the area for provisions and also the arrangements for cleaning were unclear. Studio rooms were very small.
location was great. It has a small kitchen and a nice bath Bed was in a sleep sofa. Not quite as comfortable as a standard mattress, but was acceptable. Room was not serviced daily
The location was very good with many restaurants and shops nearby. Our apartment overlooked a noisy square, so we were worried about being able to sleep, but the hotel had double layered windows, which completely blocked out the noise. The hotel had on-site parking, which was a major plus, but accessing the garage was very difficult. We had to navigate tight turns though a pedestrian area, and the remote didn't work on more than one occasion.
The location of this hotel is surperb. On a cobbled street in the dining & partying district, this is a great spot! Kids will scream past your windows at 4 am but that that's what you came here for..right...? Situated on the Pres'quile everything is at your doorstep: clothes, food, transportation... etc. Front desk was very helpful and gave us a map we used despite the tourism office's map. Surprised to find the couch was our bed (fold-out). And stricter renting rules than Switzerland (ie pay up front, nobody collects your garbage). but location was worth it. Charming hotel in a very desirable area. Great value for money.
location excelent, comfort good, large space per suite, good matresses, very polite staff, good and very usefull room facilites, free internet in reception lobby, problems with ventilation in the common lobbies , toilet and bathroom but not very annoing, need maybe an airconditioning system
It's in the best location and neighbourhood it could ever be, good to have a microwave with grill, dishwasher, ironing machine, rooms are spacious enough even for the studios. There is no vacuum cleaner or any other cleaning instrument to clean your room, as they don't do it if you are staying less than a week, Slow elevators are an issue, there is no A/C in the rooms, Rooms are clean but really old, its time for a renewal for the hotel
Excellent location right in the center of the shopping district, friendly staff, charming decor, excellent breakfast, quiet room, updated bathroom. The bathtub could have been cleaned a bit better, and for some strange reason - perhaps cultural - there was no shower curtain provided, making a shower a rather wet affair.
Excellent central location
Excellent location, friendly staff, good breakfast, very nice room with excellent bed.
Very good location, just in the heart of Lyon. Staff was quite good and professional. This charming Hotel, besides it's an ancient bulding, give us all the comodities needed, with the "french glamour".
Perfect location, excellent view (junior suite, the corner of the building), nice and helpfull personnel (special thanks to Zhanna!) The only thing (but not too importaint!) - when you step on the floor it makes a wooden sound, probably there's an old wood under the carpet.
The suits are very spacious and well-decorated. Nice views from the rooms. Very nice old lift. Someone forgot a jacket in our room and it was also lot of web on balcony.
Superb small hotel. Unbeatable location. Charming, willing staff. Nothing!
Very charming hotel, in the old French style of the city of lyon, located in the mere center of the city. Very confortable and spacious room. The staff was very welcomed and helpfull with any of uour request.Excellent breakfast in a beautifully decorated room.
Hotel person is very kind.
Very good location for the tourist with easy access shops, rivers etc. Breakfast was disapointing. Although served until 10:30, food wasn't replenished after 09:45. Minor point. Also, due to holidays, there was no bar in the hotel.
The hotel reception staff and the room were lovely.
Value for money. Large room, Excellent breakfast, nice location
Nice people, very kind. We had a on window that we could open for approx 20 cm. With 3 adults we need some fresh air. Even with airco, fresh air is needed.
The location of the hotel was excellent. Less than 1 minute walk from the main shopping promenade. There was the main Metro line only 5 minutes walk away linking the rest of the city. The hotel rooms were a little old and small, however we had a Junior Suite which we found reasonably spacious and was located at the back of the hotel away from the traffic noise. We ate outside for all our meals...including breakfast and this was a perfect hotel for this. Generally the rooms were a little old in style....but they were comfortable
location is great.
After a long days drive, the staff was very welcoming. I felt the hotel was in a thriving downtown location as was advertised. Easy parking just one block away.
It's very well located, and all the installations are ok. I found the breakfast somewhat poor (no vegetables at all, not even a tomato, no skim milk) and there were no drinks available: one had to be asking a waiter to serve drinks - while that one seemed to be saving each ml of drink.
Quiet rooms. Helpful staff.
Well centered and at walking distance of all interesting venues in Lyon (in particular, the old town). Very friendly and competent hotel staff; you can follow their recommendations regarding places to visit and restaurants.
Convenient location in the city center, close to old town, shops and restaurants; comfortable and clean room; very comfortable beds; staff very helpful, solved problem with luggage lock very late at night Parking nearby, but the hotel does not have any special arrangement, so it is quite expensive; rooms need perhaps a little renovation
Great location Room was a bit small
The attitude of the staff The price/value for money Free internet access was a nice touch NO
shower was not working well temperature too high during the night
Pleasant room with good bathroom and quiet. Staff were helpful and most spoke English. The hotel is in a convenient location for sightseeing and a nice area. Breakfast offered a good choice of food in a pleasant dining room.
Excellent location, clean and comfortable bed and bathroom. English speaking, helpful staff. Has elevator. Decent breakfast. For drivers, hotel is on a pedestrian only street but it is at a corner, turn onto the pedestrian street, you can park for 10 minutes to leave your luggage and the staff with give you directions to a parking lot. The best one is a private, secure lot, 5 minutes awat and you get a discount on the rate when you stay at the hotel. No dislikes
position friendly people, rooms breakfast not good both location and quality -
Excellent location on pedestrian mall in city center surrounded by shops and restaurants and in easy walking distance to old town, friendly and helpful staff, clean room, great breakfast, and good/free WiFi/Internet. If you have a car, prepare in advance for difficulties with *very* limited parking in that area and carrying luggage from some distance to the hotel.
the location couldn't be better. internet connexion fast. staff very helpful. comfy pillows. nice bathtube. no possibility water boiler for warm drinks in the room
Well located near subway, nice staff.
The location of the hotel was excellent.
The room was spacious and recently re-done, very nice. Location is perfect for a city tour. It is a very fair deal they offer, no complaints
I haven't been in a hotel without air conditioning for a long time. I just assumed every hotel has it. It happened to be in the 90s when we were there, and having no A/C was not cool. There was a fan in the closet though, which helped. The hotel is old and weathered, with stained carpet in the hallways and a rotted bathroom door and mold and dirt here and there. It was fine, but needs some updating. Pretty ood location though. No A/C. Older and dirty. Only one pillow. Nobody at reception when. We arrived around midnight, but they had our key on the desk for us.
verry nice and good helpfull staff!!!
I dislike the large "International" type establishments and much prefer a local place that has local charm - this certainly fitted that bill .... Large room, No apparent facility to make, or obtain, a tea, coffee or soft drink. Small shower room. The entrance stairs and corridor are not the most welcoming first impression.
Old world charm. brillaint bathroom and shower The parking services offered are in a sister hotel which is over one kilometer from the hotel. Patio room is only unto a very smal courtyard. Next time will book room over place bellecour
The location and rooms of the Hotel They should be considered for late check out for an hour or two
great location, interesting decor (feels like staying at a friends house) price could include parking fee
Good location for sightseeing all things in Lyon. Breakfast was ok, lovely room.
Great location, in central part of town. The staff was very accommodating. Bed was very uncomfortable due to the bolster pillow, and the bathroom only had a tub, no shower. I now can see why the hotel was moderately priced in a traditionally expensive city.
We had a wonderful room overlooking the square close to shopping and very centerally located. The room was clean and the staff helpful. I truly can not think of anything
Small, old-fashioned and quiet hotel. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Wireless internet a real plus. Breakfast was also a good value.
The room was compact, but very clean and very comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful and the location made it very easy to explore Lyon on foot.
The location was excellent, situated half-way between Place Bellecour and Jacobins, one block from the Soan; and just a short walk to Place Terreaux. The Desk staff were exceptionally helpful. We stayed at the hotel for two weeks and were completely satisfied. (The breakfast was quite nice, but our preference was to go to Cafe des Jacobins each morning, rather than eat at the hotel.) Nothing.
i liked the hotel place in the city , near to everything and didin't have to take metro or taxi . room should be cleaner
Staff was helpful and it was close to old town.
The location was excellent
Staff very Friendly
Location to attractions was excellent very clean and friendly hotel breakfast was lovely easy to find hotel right by a underground train station Rooms were alittle small
Helpful reception desk staff Prostitutes stationed on same street next to hotel during the afternoon
Position of the hotel. The staff were very helpful and friendly.
Close to city, easy access to subways etc ...
It's extremely well located Rooms are small, breakfast is extra 12 EUR, rooms can be noisy at night, probably not worth the price paid (75 EUR)
The hospitality of services for the price Nothing specific
Friendliness of reception staff. Despite arriving early I was allowed to check in as my room was ready. Breakfast more than sufficient. Location excellent: close to shopping area and my meeting place. Good value for money, I can certainly recommend this hotel to fellow travellers.
Good clean room and good value breakfasts Size of the cups for having coffee etc in our room. Too small
We liked the location, as one is right in the middle of downtown with lots of shops and restaurants around. Excellent access to public transport. Excellent sound proof windows plus a fully functional air conditioning. Nothing really. In this price range (2 star hotels) this is definitely a very good choice.
The staff was very helpful and kind, specially the Colombian guy at the reception. The room and the hotel in general were very clean. The location is the best ever, just in the city centre, close to everything you might need. The room was a little bit small for a double bed and a baby cot, plus all the lugages. Apart from that it's a good value for money.
The staff at the reception desk is very friendly. Location is also amazing, bang in the city center, which is surrounded by many shops and restaurant. Great for shopping. Well,,none really. A cheap place to stay, and the room is not bad. Overally, I am satisfied with what I paid for.
The location on the shopping street. There were hairs and scabs in the bed sheets so we had to sleep on top of the blanket.
Very enthusiastic host/hotelier! Location was also excellent. A bit small, but you do get what you pay for.
The superior rooms facing the Theatre place are very nice, spacious room (for french standard) the double bed is very small
Reception was helpful and pleasant, breakfast was good value at 6 euros, room was spotless, location could not have been better for sightseeing, reasonable value for money There is no lift, and 40 stairs up to Reception. The rooms are on two floors, above Reception, with a further 10 or 20 stairs.
The location of the hotel was great for the main sightseeing and restaurant zones of Lyon. The rooms were simple but fine for the price. No
Large room (for France), comfortable, quiet during the night and excellently located. Very little. Good value for money hotel. There are the ominous stairs, but I knew about them when I booked the hotel, so they did not really bother me. I did not take the breakfast so I cannot say much about it.
Location, very close to old town and view if room looks at the teatre square
Location in town centre. Many stairs and no lift.
