Pros: Amazing breakfast - delicious cooked dishes and wide array of continental fruit and cereals and pastries. Comfy beds. Loved the house we were in. Air conditioning a big plus. Staff very helpful and incredibly polite.
Cons: Room service food was a little disappointing; didn’t finish the food and needed to speak to the manager. Hopefully a one off though. Very disappointed that for a spa hotel there wasn’t an indoor heated pool/steam room etc but I think this more so because it was cold when we visited.

Cons: Pool was disappointing. Breakfast could have been better

Pros: From the second we arrived at the estate everything was perfect. The staff couldn’t do more if they tried and the place itself is one of the most beautiful places we have ever been. We stayed in Cellar Cottage which is in the middle of the vineyards and was just stunning. Bed was super comfy, complimentary wine, coffee machine and everything else you need. Wine tasting there is also fantastic and probably the best one we experienced that weekend. The restaurant is outstanding, we had both options on the 7 course taster menu which is an absolute must. The next night we really wanted to go again and even though they were fully booked they made us a little table up in a separate area so we could eat! Breakfast was also fantastic and had everything you could possibly want. I could go on and on but all in all this is an incredible place to stay and we will definitely 100% be going back when we next visit South Africa.

Pros: Awesome location, beautiful open hotel. No stuffy carpeted corridors and sealed closed windows. I hate aircon, so to be able to open windows and doors was great.
Cons: It was COVID 19 season....everyone worried about everything
7.0 Good
Pros: Clean, nice rooms, simple layout. Happy staff. Nice reception.
Cons: Service a bit slow around the poolside. Had to go find waiter and then wait for drinks and snack for a while - saw it all standing there by the bar 15 minutes before he brought it through so almost just picked it up myself when going past. We all could not sleep at night with crickets making a loud noise for both nights in the small garden area around the pool.

1.0 Poor
Pros: Quaint
Cons: This is what we have written to the manager: To the manager I have been awake from 2am, when the air conditioner in our room suddenly started making an extremely loud noise, sounding like a construction drill was breaking through the wall. Both my husband and I woke in a great shock and ran over to see what was going on. I felt seconds away from a heart attack.  The air conditioner then began to spit out ice cubes. Once we realised what was going on we had to switch it off and it did not want to work silently afterwards but rather continued the drilling noise. As a result - no air conditioning thereafter. And of course no sleep after that shock. So we have been awake from 2am, after being awake since 4am yesterday to fly from jhb to ct. We had gone to bed at 11pm as we had attended the sparcely attended dinner time stories. This was supposed to have been a relaxing quick getaway and is instead a nightmare altogether. When I had gone to have a shower and to my horror the shower cap was used and shoved haphazardly back into the box. Upon opening there were clear signs of residue and particles that was disgusting and unhygienic, especially given the current health situation we find ourselves in! Shocking and this left me wondering what else was reused/not properly cleaned or changed. Sheets? Towels? Glasses? Disgusting. I came here perfectly healthy.  Right now I'm more concerned about catching something from this room then Corona. Unbelievable. Pathetic shower pressure. Upon entering the room there were no robes or slippers which are pretty standard hotel amenities. Construction - no information on the current construction neighbouring the villas was given. I would not have booked here knowing that instead of picturesque, serenity of Franschoek, I would be spending my afternoon listening to bangs and drills from a construction site... although still nothing compared to that dreadful air conditioner in my room.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Construction quality Views Environment Breakfast Comfort Staff Value for money
Cons: No soaps in the room (they were missing in the day we arrived) Hairdryer wasn’t working (but staff quickly provided a spare one) Power cuts throughout the day (but staff warned us and was working hard to solve it)

Pros: The room that we had was enormous with a luxurious, comfy bed. A huge walk-in shower or a sunken bath tub to choose from...and a balcony to watch the sun go down. Beautifully quiet with lovely bedding and soft furnishings. A real treat!
Cons: When we first arrived and sat by the lake, it took a long time to be served...but this improved as the evening went on.

It’s located just off the main street in Franschhoek so it’s quiet but no distance to the restaurants / wine tram stop etc. You feel so looked after by the staff. Justin gave us recommendations for our onward trip to Hermanus, which were all brilliant. Don’t hesitate to book this place!

Pros: Beautiful Interior Design - literally a gorgeous house. Blissful poolside. Very comfortable room. Exactly what I was looking for from a boutique hotel in the vines.
Cons: It is not really a criticism of the hotel, but we didn't think the wines were particularly good, so I wouldn't go for that reason, and the main problem is it is quite hard to get taxis to/from the hotel. That said they will organise one for you if you ask, so thats the best way to do it.

Pros: Beautiful place with amazing service and great breakfast! Zoe in particular was an amazing host

Pros: Fantastic stay with very friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast was delicious
Cons: Nothing
7.5 Good
Pros: The rooms were a nice size and the breakfast was good . The staff were pleasant . The property is lovely. Wine tasting team were also very friendly and welcoming. It was good value for money however if we had paid the full list rate I would have been disappointed
Cons: It was very difficult to find any staff to assist one outside of the breakfast time . The mineral water provided in our room was ready open and when I tried to find someone to help me replace it at 8pm I could not find anyone. We were also advised that there was high tea served from 3-5pm but when we got there at 4.30pm there was no one to be found. The property definitely requires some maintenance and the showerhead in our room needs replacing as it blocked up with lime scale. (I had to try clean it myself to get water to spray decently). In addition the shower leaks as there is a gap in the glass door. Tv is also too small for the room. We had also requested early check in at 11am which was confirmed but when we got there at 11am, we were advised that the check in time was only at 2pm and that our room was not ready. They did however manage to get it ready by 12.30.

Pros: Everything. The positioning of the place, a bit further from the busy streets. You feel so relaxed, like you are in a country side. Beautiful view , very private , very accommodating and friendly people working at the hotel. Thank you Natasha, you made us feel so special. Very comfortable big bed and good aircon. Nice pool and a garden. The breakfast is delicious with incredible view. Will definitely recommend to stay at Holden Manz.

Pros: The Hotel is very small and quiet, but very boutique if I may say so:) This place is for those who love to be in harmony with nature, far from crowd. The view is absolutely stunning! Our room was absolutely beautiful and comfortable. The dinner in a restaurant was also very good. The breakfast was tasty and cosy. We met the owner of the Hotel. Very friendly gentleman, giving you the feeling you come to a friend's house. Thank you very much for a nice experience!
Cons: Nothing. Just come and enjoy. You won't be disappointed.

Pros: A good location with welcoming staff and a delicious breakfast. The cottages were tastefully decorated and spacious with a nice private outdoor seating area where we enjoyed sitting in the evening with a bottle of wine watching the full moon rise over the mountains. The pool was welcoming after a ‘tiring’ day visiting vineyards and the shops.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very lovely decorated guesthouse with great hospitality close to all the popular vineyards and restaurants. As we had a late flight back home Tina, the owner, allowed us to stay at the pool till late in the afternoon and offered her personal bathroom to take a shower before departure (guesthouse was fully booked that day) !
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Short walk to the main street (5minutes) for restaurants and shops though Fleur de Soleil is in a quiet neighbourhood. Great pool in very pleasant garden. Very helpful and friendly owner and staff.
Cons: All good.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: A wonderful location within easy walking distance of the wine tram (approximately 15 mins away) and local restaurants, shops and cafes. A beautiful garden and outdoor pool, safe off-street parking, and well-appointed room with en suite bathroom with separate shower and bath. The room was beautifully decorated, clean and comfortable, and there were some lovely touches (e.g., complimentary sherry, tea and coffee, an honesty bar, toiletries) and lots of information about local activities and attractions. Communication with our host was very good before our arrival and we had no difficulty locating the property.
Cons: We only met our host briefly, so we didn’t have the chance to chat to her about our visit to Franschhoek. The prices for the laundry service are steep: the property bills by item rather than by load. Travellers on longer tours may wish to make alternative arrangements.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly, helpful staff, pool area, location, room.
Cons: Bathroom a little disappointing.

10.0 Excellent
