Pros: The beautiful floors, lovely rooms with tea, hair dryer and iron and ironing board...all welcome when travelling. Our flight left early morning and because we would miss breakfast, they packed us a boxed lunch. We did walk from O'Connell street and it is 20 to 30 minutes....but even with all our luggage it was fun.. A plus is that it is close to Heuston Sation and all excellent bus services. An unexpected treat for us was seeing The Dublin Zoo ( amazing) and The Pheonix Gardens....about 5 minutes away. Carol

Pros: We loved the room, the views, the quiet, the location. Close to the train station. The bed was so comfy! Also right near the landmark pub Nancy's Hand. The room design is outstanding! The bathroom was huge! We loved it here.
Cons: There had a been some flooding from outside and it went into the hotel lobby on the day we arrived and it smelled horrible it was most likely sewer water. he smell only affected the area by the front door and the smell was gone by the time we left two days later. The hotel had professionals cleaners working on it as fast as possible. We would stay here again. The flooding was not there fault.

Pros: The breakfast buffet was great with lots of options. The room was large and comfortable.

Pros: Hotel is an excellent choice when visiting Dublin. It has excellent service, very clean, and good restaurant. Although it is not close to where most of the nightlife is there is an excellent local pub 2 blocks away and it is located on the local Luas light rail line which provides quick access to most of Dublin's tourist attractions.
Cons: Slightly removed from what they call City Center

Pros: Rooms were some of the nicest at any hotel we stayed in Ireland, restaurant and bar were top notch and the food was great; breakfast was also great. Parking included and very convenient. Business center with 2 computers and free printing. Very nice lounge area.
Cons: Location was out of the way if you want to do sight seeing, but it was close to the airport so perfect for us (we stayed there the last day of our trip). Bit of a wait for the business center computers, some of the other guests were using for non-business purposes - wish there was a sign that had a time limit or something.

Pros: Fine hotel. Free printing was a good perk. Hotel bar and bar food was a decent and tasty value.

Pros: Rooms were huge, staff was totally on point, the indoor pool was an unexpected benefit. Bar is busy most times, it's fun to hang out at the hotel.

Pros: Room very big, clean, quiet. Nice location
Cons: Staff were all very nice, but seemed like they needed training, particularly in the restaurant. Often no one attending the lobby, at check in, or concierge. On check out, no-one asked how was the stay, and not even to-go coffee available (which is almost standard expectation these days, even in lower quality hotels). Tried calling room service & was told they would call me back, after 10 mins I called them back to say don't bother. Breakfast is really expensive, supposed to start at 7am .. I wanted an omlette ... Was told by waitress that I needed "to ask the omlette guy" at the buffet , he didn't show up til 720am. I asked him if I could have toast with the omlette, he said "you need to ask the waitress" ... It was more Fawlty Towers than Four Seasons

Pros: Breakfast room service
Cons: Crib the provided us was stained and in terrible shape. They did replace it after we called. There are no hooks in the bathroom to hang towels, no robes or slippers, and only instant coffee and black team(no decaf tea) in your room. They also don’t have a doorman When we called downstairs to request help with our bags upon check out we were told they were too busy and wouldn’t be available for “a while” so we did it our selves. However when we showed up downstairs there was a porter hanging around who didn’t didn’t help with the door while we were carrying 6 bags between two of us and a baby. For a four star place it really lacks some basic amenities which is disappointing.

Pros: well situated in dublin; walking distance to restaurants.
Cons: tha maldron is more expensive than its amenities suggest. the room I was booked in was small & had no view (the window literally opened onto a tiny concrete plot. they did not provide washcloths & the shower is weirdly designed (you have to step fully inside to turn it on, and with the fixed head, this means you're going to get blasted with cold water to start your morning). if this is a business trip & you just need a place to sleep, it's perfectly fine, but if you want to spend the same value for a plush hotel room with some space and a view of at least a city street, i'd recommend someplace else.

Overall the place was always clean, lots of staff around which was nice. The demographic was crazy... People of all ages which was fantastic! It couldn't be closer to Jameson. Great bars and restaurants around it as well. It's about a 15 minute walk to temple bar area. 10 minute walk to Guinness.
Cons: The bar as good as it is, a bit of a tourist trap... It shouldn't be €5-6 for a pint... The rooms were hot as hell, the window barely opened and only at the end of stay did we find out we could request a fan... Not much else to complain about.

Pros: The staff here is absolutely wonderful and very friendly! You can ask for suggestions on places to go and things see and to do and they give out detailed descriptions on what you should expect to experience at each destination! The Night Staff was equally wonderful! To my surprise the night guards/security we're very friendly and helpful and happy to give good directions to near by places. The bartenders are cheerful, funny and have great suggestions for local restaurants and nightlife activities. The reception team is outstanding! They are warm and welcoming and available 24/7! They can help you with any delemas or concerns may come up during your stay. On my next trip to Dublin I will stay at the generator and the staff has a HUGE part to play in desire to book a room with the generator again!
Cons: The only things that I can complain about is the fact that the laundry room often has a line waiting because the dryers take too long to dry. Just for one load it can take up to two to three hours before your clothes become dry, but even then they may not be dry and this leaves people will still be waiting to take their turn while their clothespecially sit soaking wet. Also the bar could be open later.

Pros: Fabulous value for the money. €52 for two people in a spotlessly clean double private room w bathroom. Right in Smithfield steps away from great restaurants, cinema, pubs cafes and live Irish Music. Right above the Jameson Brewery Tasting Rooms. Laundry facilities, on site pub and cafe and luggage storeage. Room and bathroom were spotlessly clean, warm and quiet. Felt very safe also.
Cons: Nothing. It was all good!

Pros: The facilities are modern and relatively clean. Rooms are well maintained and mattresses are pretty comfortable. The bar area is nice and live music is a plus. Building and rooms are also secure. Swipe cards are required to go anywhere and there’s security at the door.
Cons: Upon arrival, the staff was more concerned with being cool than with being courteous. Morning staff was much better. What rubbed me the wrong way about this place is that they fail to provide any kind of secure storage for even the smallest of items. There are lock boxes under the beds, but require you bring your own padlock or pay a ridiculous amount of money to use the luggage storage in the basement. Plan ahead or snuggle your valuables. Also, no outside food is allowed. Strange for a hostel. The reason given is that plenty of food is available on site for purchase. Most things on the menu were expensive for a backpacker. The restaurants and supermarket across the way are the best options. Also, the provided shower gel dispenser is always empty and make sure you double check the toilet paper before you sit down. This place clearly has its eye on being trendy to attract the young, party crowd. It’s nothing similar to what backpackers are used to from every other hostel on the planet and fails to provide the community experience and chance to meet new people that solo travelers look for. Considering the price isn’t even on the lower end, there are better places in Dublin.

Pros: The hostel was very clean and well kept. Had a bar and cafe which made it much easy to find to find food and drinks. The food was reasonably priced. I don't see why I wouldn't use Generator again whether it was in Dublin or somewhere else.

Pros: Easy to feel included and apart of something as a solo traveller. The staff and environment in general make the hostel have a home like feel. Convenient plugs and lights with every bed. Good food at breakfast and for lunch/dinner. Close enough to walk to city center, temple bar area etc but far enough that you feel safe because you don't have to deal with drunk strangers, and the loud streets of the city centre.
Cons: Beds were comfortable but creaked. Every time you turned or moved, the whole bed would creak and move. Also it was very hot at night due to having a very small window in the room.

Pros: Location and atmosphere were fun.
Cons: I can’t say too much here since it IS a hostel, but the walls and doors are very thin and you can hear the loud, drunk patrons coming in all night. It made for a good daytime nap, but not the best nights sleep.

Pros: Location was really good and the place was very clean. If you wanted to eat meals at the hostel and spend a lot of your time there, it's a nice place for that, although overpriced as far as hostels go (even in Dublin). Definitely a party hostel but I was just surprised at how expensive it is.
Cons: Staff were really unhelpful and made my stay somewhat negative.

Pros: I got upgraded to an all female ensuite room, which was fantastic, bright and big. All the bathrooms in the whole building were clean from what I saw, fantastic bar, friendly staff, loved my stay! Each bed came with a huge lockable storage box, if you didn't have your own lock they were 5 euro at reception.
Cons: The regular rooms were very small and cramped and windowless.

Pros: The Staff was as helpful as they could be

Pros: We stayed here when we landed in Dublin and right before we left. We found the staff to be very helpful and the rooms were definitely big enough for four people. One of the bigger rooms we stayed in while in Ireland. Definitely a great place to stay when coming in and out of Dublin.

Pros: Met some cool people downstairs at the live music
Cons: It's 6 km from the airport, they charge for the shuttle, and the WiFi is €5/day. Gonna avoid most Hilton from now on as a result of their nickel and diming practices

Pros: Kinlay house is located in a great area, near many of Dublin's main sights. I would definitely stay here again. Never felt unsafe or uncomfortable.
Cons: The rooms were a tad cold, as well as the bathroom. The cleanliness of the bathroom was also not the best. Someone had thrown up in the bathroom, and it was left for most of the day.

Pros: It's a hip place, the rooms are clean, and the staff were externally helpful in helping me track down my wallet that I had left in a taxi.
Cons: Nothing, the place was great. There were some annoying persons staying there, but that's to be expected and it's not the hostel's fault.

Pros: The staff on reception were all very pleasant and extremely helpful. The location was perfect for us, close to the gig venue we were booked for. It was reasonably priced for Dublin (but not cheap), comfortable and clean. Beds and towels were fine.
Cons: The shower room bathroom was overlooked by another building (hotel?) with no curtain on the window. The frosted glass allowed for privacy from the ground floor level but not from the five stories looking down on us. Breakfast choices were pretty limited.
