Not the right location
Pros: The car
Cons: Had booked the vehicle under the assumption that it was at the airport and there happens to be 2 enterprise locations equidistant from YVR. Long story short it took quite awhile to get to the car. It was also very hard to get a taxi from the location after the drop off.

Pros: Free upgrade; 5% discount when I asked if they gave a discount for AA membership (they don't, but they applied this discount without me asking for it); very clear about what constituted 'damage' when I checked the car with them at the beginning of the rental, ie. scatches over a cerrtain length, etc.
Cons: Nothing negative to mention.

Enterprise is awesome; Kayak gave no discount
Pros: Enterprise staff were very friendly and helpful, understanding and accommodating.
Kayak is a much better search tool than the Enterprise site.
This site is not a scam, so....yey?
Cons: Kayak prices are not discounted in any way. 10% would make me come back.

Best rental agency ever...
Pros: Great customer service!! Staff was very helpful and friendly. I extended my rental much longer than initially expected and everyone was so kind and accommodating :)

Pros: Nothing... they didn't have my reservation so I didn't get a car!
Cons: I went to the counter and they said they didn't have my reservation. The airport was packed so.there were no free cars available so I had to take a taxi. Not very happy! I sure hope I didn't end up getting charged!

Good driving in Palau
Pros: Car was newer with good space for 4 adults. It was a little cramped with luggage, but not a problem for two short trips. Everything on the car worked well. Appreciated having agents at the airport for very late night/early morning arrival and departure.
Cons: Island's internet connection was so poor, I have yet to receive a copy of the contract. I took a photo for billing records and will contact Hertz when we get home.

Pros: Car was clean and new.
Cons: I asked the Hertz agent specifically when I needed to return the car to ensure that I don't get charged an extra day. She informed me it was 3pm and even noted it on the account. When I went to return the car, I was there before 3pm, but was still charged an extra day. Even though the agent at the office saw that the 3pm was noted on my account, he said he was unable to change it and I had a train to catch and no time to argue. I ended up paying $116 instead of the original $65 quoted though Kayak.

Worst travel experience
Pros: Nothing I will never pre-book a rental again
Cons: My flight was delayed and the rental counter was closed after we got in. Because we were traveling to whistler 2 hours away, we had no way of getting there and had to sleep on the ground until the rental counter opened the next morning (even though we had already paid for an expensive hotel room. This was a nightmare

Pros: Not that Hertz has to, but considering that my wife is Club Gold, and that we paid $70 US a day, I'm surprised we dind't get an upgrade.
Pros: I didn't have a credit card and only debit card they cancelled my booking. I feel it's highly unfair. There are ppl in this world who manage without a credit card and car rental companies should cater to all. I then got it from another dealer who accepted cash and debit cards.

Cons: I booked a Large Special on your site. I even got a message saying I got a good deal for a Large vehicle. When I got to the site, they told me the reservation was only for a compact and I needed to pay $$$ more to get a Large. Classic bait and switch, deceptive marketing. I switched to another provider.

Pros: Where not there after 11 or 30 minutes after accepting my booking. Took cab next day and it was twice as much as quote. Pretty terrible experience with this company at this airport

some good pros, but some bad cons too.......
Pros: good car, efficient service
Cons: we messed up our return schedule (missed the ferry) so we:
- returned the car 2h late and to the airport instead in the city -> resulted in 1 day additional rent which we considered as ok
- didn't have the time to fill up the gas otherwise we would have missed the plane -> $227 were charged for fuel service which is 3-4 times the value of the fuel. We consider this simply a rip off, twice the amount would have been acceptable. We might choose another company next time

Cons: There was only one agent on duty at 10:00 AM on Friday morning when a two cruise ships docked. It took over an hour for her to process all the people wanting to rent cars. She was definitely overworked, and doing the best she could, but the line was very long and the hour wait was not acceptable.

Cons: Booked a vehicle to pick up AT airport, turns out it was not at the airport but 20 minute train ride into downtown Vancouver. I booked to pick up the vehicle at 3 pm, however the downtown location closed at 3 pm and left us with a dark desk and no way to find a vehicle. When I booked it, the online page should have warned me that that particular office closed at 3 pm. No calls were made to us to find out if we were on our way or what had happened. Luckily a gentleman at the convention center onsite helped us find the last vehicle for rent in the area and we paid more and got a tiny car, but it was a vehicle and we did not have to stay the night in Vancouver. Being such a large company, I would think the website would have warned me that our pick up time and the closing time were the same and I would have researched further. Won't ever book with Alamo again.

Try to hand over compact after booking full size
Cons: Booked a full size. They never told me they don't have one. When I go to parking lot, they hand me over a compact (still without telling me). When I ask for full size, the day we will "UPGRADE" you to minivan. Sorry, that's not an upgrade and you could have at least told me that you don't have car I won't.

Great service and car!
Pros: The service was rather quick and easy when we got to port. We were upgraded to another car at no charge and did not have to fill up the tank as it was only a quarter full when we received it. The car was great!

Super Efficient & Friendly
Pros: Convenient to ship disembarkation for pickup, helpful staff both at pickup and drop off. My mom has difficulty walking, so the agent at pickup brought the car to us. At drop off, she needed to use a restroom and an agent escorted her to it. We had an upgraded car, and it was new and clean. We got lost on the way to the airport for drop off, so we were a little late, but they didn't charge us extra.
An excellent experience all around!

Pros: Easy pick up right at the port after our cruise. Thankfully we were later getting off the ship so there was no line when we went to pick up our car. Easy directions given to return car to SeaTac and ease of getting out of garage without having to pay for it.
Cons: The garage you pick up the vehicle in is dark so it is a bit hard to examine the car prior to picking up. But would not deter me from renting from them again.

Cons: A surprise $50 fee for dropping off at the airport vs. Downtown. This was not disclosed at time of rental and tripled the cost of my rental. It feels like bait and switch. Other websites do disclose all fees.

Great location for pickup in the city
Pros: Great location, good prices. Employees were very helpful and kind.
Cons: Chevy Cruz is not a great car to drive, I should have asked for something different. I paid for the Garmin GPS and it was very slow to bring up searches. It was helpful while driving on the road but clunky and not very intuitive on searches...it took us to a market when we searched for fuel.

Nice car, easy pick up, cost was a surprise
Pros: Everything about this went smoothly except for the final cost.
Cons: That my bill was proposed to be $49 per day, and it was $63 in the end because of additional costs. That's a big difference. It would be nice to know about all the add-on fees ahead of time.

Pros: Reviews read on other sites were very critical. I went ahead and booked anyway and it was super easy. Clean car, friendly staff, and super easy. Would do again!
Cons: There's a charge (17%) if you landed at the airport within 24 hrs. I should've said it was more than 24 hrs because they didn't check anyway.

I didn't receive electronically my bill, thus I am planning to call to make sure all is ok. Plus my bank shows that the 350 deposit is still there,, not impressed to be honest.
Cons: Despite having a reservation- no car available and no attempt to find an alternative and no apology. I will not book with Europcar again.

Cons: Discount cars had run out of vehicles and we're planning on not picking up waiting customers from the airport. I had to put pressure on them to do so as there were a couple of families with kids and babies waiting anxiously.
Phone at pick up point was not working.
The process took ages and was a stressful start to our family holiday.

Cons: Shuttle took very long to get to airport, when i arrived at car rental place, they told me they ran out of cars and would not be able to rent me a car even though I had a reservation. They then told me to walk to Enterprise 10 minute walk down the street in the pouring rain. Manager was incredibly rude. Shuttle driver was however very nice. Overall, terrible experience.

Terrible service at Discount
Pros: This rental was serviced by Discount Car Rental. The rental counter was incredibly slow and inexperienced. Worse than any car rental experience I've had. They showed my rental as a day shorter than what I'd booked with kayak, and while they said it would not be in issue on return, the guy returning his car next to me was being asked to pay an additional day for the same weird error in date. I allowed 20 min to return my vehicle, and even though I was the only customer when I arrived, they still took so long that my bus to seattle was closing the door as they dropped me off. Almost missed my coach and subsequently my flight. Would never use europcar or discount in yvr again, regardless of price.

Great car, very slow pick up from airport
Pros: Great car, very slow pick up from airport. Fortunately, they only had an a credit card. We had a high-end jeep that was fully loaded with everything. You have XM radio, navigation, it was extremely comfortable. I have a sunroof etc. Gas mileage was good. Was a great car. Check in and check out process was fine. People are friendly.
Cons: It took over an hour to have the rental agency pick us up at the airport. Some was related to traffic, but most was related to confusion by the pick up driver. They said they would not post the deposit to the credit card, what they did.

Excellent car, very poor service
Pros: The car was easy to drive and comfortable, absolutely no issues from when we drove out of the centre until we drove back. Overall quite decent value for money.
Cons: The service especially at the start was dreadful. Firstly, when we phoned to ask where we should be collected from at the airport, the directions given were poor. Then at the centre, they repeatedly tried to give us a car we didn't want, (we could see the car we reserved and pointed this out), the reason it seemed because they would have to move another car to get our one out, and they had misplaced the keys. When we eventually got the car we reserved, our attendant put the wrong end date into the computer (despite the fact he had our booking confirmation) and charged us for one day too few. We pointed this out after paying, and he said we would just have to pay an extra $65 on return, which he wrote on our form and we accepted. On return, we were first asked to pay the full amount, which obviously we didn't do since we had already paid for all but one day. Then we were asked to pay $82 for this day, which we agreed was correct but wasn't what we had written on our form from the first attendant.

Cons: The first Jeep Cherokee's 4WD service light was on, the second Jeep Patriot was old, ratty and stunk of cigarette smoke, and the last option with AWD was a Chevrolet thing. We left and went to Hertz and got a brand new clean Jeep Wrangler instead.

Dishonest experience with Thrifty car rental
Cons: I booked a rate on your site for a total car rental period with all fees for just under $40.
When I returned my car to Thrifty the total was $199. 52 and I filled the car full of gas.
They said that they added a $35 dollar per day insurance that I did not sign up for and they would not remove this charge.
I am waiting for a phone call from you to discuss a refund.

Cons: the car was smaller than i expected from an SUV, but it worked out fine.
also, i asked for a ski rack at time of reservation and also called thrifty the day before we went to vancouver. both times i was told that my request was recorded, but not guaranteed. so i thought there was a decent chance that i would get a ski rack since i requested it so far in advance.
when we arrived at the pick up location, i was told that they do not have ski racks in that location and never have them available for customers. that was kind of weird.

Pros: Car was clean, ran well (Toyota Camry).
Cons: I only had the car 5 days and was charged the weekly rate. I was given only 1 day of insurance back when I brought it back early. On your website it doesn't mention the $30/day for insurance on top of the rental charge. I was led to believe at booking everything was included. Too expensive.
Cons: I rented the car thinking it was from the airport Vancouver National location when really it was reserved from the downtown National location. The manager was VERY good and assured me I would have a vehicle. And, I did. thanks.

Not as expected
Pros: I had arrived the location indicated from email only finding it closed down and need to go another location to pick up, my trip was delayed because of that. They didn't have the car I book, instead gave me an SUV which is more costly on gas. Cons: Both our pickup, and dropoff, locations were closed--the pickup location had a phone number we could call for service, and the dropoff location had a drop box for the keys so we couldn't confirm the condition of the car with National when we left it.

Pros: Car was comfortable.
Cons: Price ended up costing double what was quoted. I even dropped the car off a day early and the price "could not be adjusted"
Insurance was too pricey in my opinion.
Bad customer service.
Reservation told me a pick-up/drop-off address that was permanently closed so I had to make my way to another location. When I tried to call to talk to someone about the pick-up I got the worst automated service with no way to talk to a live person.
Never booking through these guys again.
