Pros: The staff went above and beyond to make your stay feel like you were part of their family . Great food , snacks and drinks all day long .
Cons: Having to leave .
Winner of the Conde Nast Gold List award in 2013, French Quarter Inn promises a premium experience and puts you within a 15-minute drive of College of Charleston and USS Yorktown. Guests looking for a bite to eat can check out Ruth's Chris Steakhouse, which serves lunch and dinner. A bar/lounge and free bike rentals are offered, and rooms at this upscale hotel get the details right with pillow menus and bathrobes.
Pros: The place had a great staff and excellent room.
Cons: Room was not ready at time of check it
Pros: Breakfast in a picnic basket outside the door, cookies and milk at night, great staff
Cons: On the second floor, we could hear the footsteps of the patrons above us as we were trying to sleep.
The Restoration features a rooftop terrace and puts you within a 10-minute walk of College of Charleston. Guests can grab a bite to eat at the restaurant and visit the spa to be pampered with deep-tissue massages, body scrubs, or facials. 2 bars/lounges and an outdoor pool are other highlights at this upscale hotel, and rooms offer up nice touches like iPod docks, bathrobes, and pillowtop beds with Egyptian cotton sheets.
Pros: Breakfast in room, large luxurious bathrooms, bikes for peddling around city, butler for any service
Pros: The service was great. I really felt pampered. The attention to detail was evident. Our butler made us feel welcomed and well cared for. The free snacks available in the room were a nice touch. The bed was very comfortable. Everyone there, from the doorman to the front desk to the cleaning staff made you feel like your well being was a priority.
Cons: Being that the hotel is only 3 stories high a scenic view was lacking. It is a bit pricey so that a longer term stay may be cost prohibitive.

Pros: The hotel is in a great location. Minutes away from the Market and all the top restaurants. It is on the Main Street with all of Charleston's shops.
The hotel also has a great bar with piano music and if you would like something more casual, there is a fun sports bar. In addition,he hotel has a beautiful upscale restaurant
Pros: Right near shops of King St
Home of Charleston Grill, a top 5 dining experience for us
Fine luxury throughout hotel
Cons: Can seem a bit stuffy depending on clientele, but that's who it's for
Pros: Location is the best thing about this hotel. Valet very disorganized and never anticipating peak times,
Had to take my luggage to my room myself....
Over priced for the service or lack of service
Pros: Spa needs help !
Pros: Our room was on the top floor and absolutely gorgeous from the room itself to the bathroom to the breathtaking view!
Cons: It was perfect and exceeded my expectations! There was nothing not to like! I'd stay there again and again!
Pros: Enjoyed the ambience and attention of staff.
Excellent gym and spa area.
Perfect location for shopping and dining.
Cons: Lack of in room movies.
Pros: The rooms was beautiful and completely decked out. The staff was kind, curious, willing to help, and helped us coordinate between my girlfriend and I as we prepared in separate areas of town for a wedding I was in and needed to check in earlier. The room was extremely clean and the staff was extremely nice!
Cons: No need to go to their bar or cafe, the prices of everything are unnecessarily high just because they are by luxury stores or something. They are $20 for everything, no lie. Do yourself a favor and go to any of the amazing restaurants in the area that you can more than easily walk to!
Pros: Every item in the room was first rate and luxurious.
Cons: The traffic noise was very loud throughout the night
Pros: Beautiful facility. Rooms were clean and spacious. Staff was excellent and friendly. Perfect location.
Cons: Repeated air conditioning problems in our room.
Pros: Hotel was beautiful and opulent. Historic setting in the middle of the old Charleston. Restaurant was excellent and rooms were both beautiful and spacious.
Staff was extremely courteous and pleasant.
Cons: We had air conditioning problems that repeatedly left the room without cooling in 90 degree weather.

I would not stay here during construction. It will put a damper on your stay.
Pros: Great staff...very attentive and professional. The bed, linens, bathroom were stellar.
Cons: NOISE! There is construction that at 5:45 in the morning. Hotel was aware that our room was loud but still gave it us. Very disappointed.
Zero George embodies the authenticity that defines Charleston. Designed with the sophisticated traveler in mind, our premier boutique hotel is a blend of historic architecture, innovative bathrooms, and casually elegant guestrooms and suites with adjoining open-air furnished piazzas.Set in a private landscaped courtyard enclave, our hotel is a collection of five restored historic residential buildings, with accommodations featuring contemporary dcor and furnishings. Our professional staff can provide personal concierge services to arrange the details of your visit. Nestled in the Ansonborough district, and surrounded by historically significant homes and century old oaks, Zero George is within walking distance to the Battery, East Bay Street restaurants, bars and boutique shops. Our hotel is located three blocks from the City Market, and across from Liberty Square SC Aquarium, Cruise Ship terminal, and new Gaillard Performing Arts Center.
Pros: Wonderful stay in beautiful courtyard patio room. The staff were responsive and helpful without being intrusive. Even when we made difficulty for them (demand for in-room refrigerator; screw up on date of check out; arriving with two vehicles instead of one) the staff handled it superbly and with grace. Loved being near the shops along King St and the restaurants on Meeting and Market. The bar was just that - not a sports locker room or TV lounge; perfect for a drink and a talk. My only frustration was that the weather was nice but not nice enough to dine romantically in the courtyard after dark.
Cons: This is NOT a criticism.
The Peninsula Grill (the only in-house eatery) is a fine establishment but expensive with a menu unsuited for anything but fine dining. An in-house or affiliated restaurant serving more family/daily meal focused fare would be an added bonus, especially if combined with some limited ability to have the meal delivered ala room service.
Location. This hotel is in Historic Charleston, next to Charleston's Open Air Market, one of the oldest public markets in the United States. The King Street Antiques District is a block away.
Hotel Features. Planters Inn has a restaurant and a bar/lounge. Room service is available during limited hours. Pros: After a long day of touring the city the beds were SOOO comfortable

Pros: The Staff - Margo was very nice, helpful with suggestions, and great to talk with.
The Facilities - This B & B is an historical treasure, but also updated tastefully and fully functional. Very comfortable.
The Food - The made to order breakfast was very good and a nice touch being included in the room.
Extras - We liked the small touches, such as complementary bottle water always available. When you stay here, you don't get nickel-and-dimes like at the typical hotel.
Winner of the Conde Nast Gold List award in 2015, John Rutledge House Inn promises a premium experience and puts you within a 15-minute drive of College of Charleston and USS Yorktown. Guests looking to stay active can check out the nearby kayaking, and free perks include full breakfast daily and WiFi. Nice touches like bathrobes, designer toiletries, and comfy beds with premium linens are offered up in all rooms at this upscale hotel.
Pros: The staff was very good and the hotel was clean.
Cons: I wish they had coffee in the room. There was no place to get just a cup of coffee.
A luxury hotel offering old-world charm with a distinct modern edge. Consider us your home away from home, whether you’re looking to recharge with an intimate holiday, host a lavish celebration, or reserve first-class accommodations for an important meeting.
Pros: The staff was very helpful, and courteous. Checki-in&out both a breeze. The entire grounds were clean and well kept. The pool area looked wonderful but unfortunately the weather wasn't on our side. Rooms were quiet and CLEAN!! Bed also very comfortable. This place is set up like a maze and there weren't very many guests at the time so we didn't hear a lot of traffic people-wise, nor from the very busy highway in front. We WILL be booking here again on our next trip. This was my 1st experience booking a room online ,so you're never sure what you're getting, and I am very happy with the whole experience!!
Cons: That we weren't staying longer to enjoy more! Maybe also the entering and exiting because of the traffic.
Pros: Check-in and check-out was quick, and the staff was helpful and professional.
The room was clean, and the shower and bathroom were great!
Pros: I like the fact that it was very quiet and clean. Everyone that we met was business like and hospitable.
Cons: I don't like the fact that you have to use your room card to get out of the pool area. Our cards had gotten demagnetized and would not allow us to get out of the pool area. This seems like a safety concerns. I completely understand needing a card to get in but not out.
Pros: very comfortable beds
easy check in
check out at 12:00
Cons: Pull out sofa was a bit hard. No free breakfast
Pros: Everything was wonderful friendly staff immaculate room with excellent amenities and an affordable price. Loved it would come back :)
Town & Country Inn and Suites sits on Savannah Highway, an easy 15-minute drive from historic downtown Charleston. Also a 15-minute drive, the City Market is ideal for souvenir shopping, and the South Carolina Aquarium offers plenty of family fun. The Citadel Mall is a 2-minute drive from the hotel.
Cons: Only issue that we had was the WiFi didn't work well even though we had a router in the room. They changed it out twice & the service was still intermittent. The hotel was slow to respond.
Pros: Valet and Bellmen were on point, room was comfortable, location was good.
Cons: Check-in staff was a little stuffy, room window was beside auxiliary generator that came on very loudly while we were there, and a parking deck, NO VIEW AT ALL! Got a text ahead of time to let me know we would be getting a high floor with a view only to get just the opposite. The rooftop bar and restaurant was more of a tourist destination with the feel of a national restaurant chain. Due to the rooftop situation the elevator was crowded and slow.
Pros: Great location. Friendly staff. Large rooms. Roof top bar was a lovely spot for a late afternoon drink and to watch the sunset over charleston.
Cons: The first room we checked into was smelly and overlooked a parking lot. Terrible room but the hotel was quick to relocate us to a much better room. For the price we paid for our room the first room should not have been given to us. A subpar room for a superior hotel.
Pros: Character and charm were fantastic and the staff were attentive and always willing to give a hand. Danny's help in the lobby area couldn't have been better!
Pros: I loved the turn down service each night.
Pros: This is a first rate hotel! Will not stay anywhere else in Charleston. If you want the ultimate Charleston experience it is a must to stay at the Market Pavillion.
Pros: Beautiful hotel, great location, great service! Definitely will be back!
Winner of the Conde Nast Gold List award in 2013, Market Pavilion Hotel promises a premium experience where you'll find a rooftop terrace, plus you'll be just a 5-minute drive from College of Charleston. The outdoor pool is a great spot to take a dip, and guests can grab a bite to eat at Grill 225, one of 2 restaurants, which serves American cuisine and is open for lunch and dinner. There are 2 bars/lounges and a poolside bar, and rooms at this luxurious hotel get the details right with Frette Italian sheets and premium bedding.
Pros: Right in the center of the historical district. Awesome restaurants and shopping just outside the door. Staff was SO personal and accommodating. We had dining suggestions and felt like we were part of the group immediately. We sat and talked later that night to SuSu. We both said we will stay here on our next trip
Cons: Our room was recently renovated. Due to the cold, fresh air wasn't an option so we were overwhelmed w fumes. They were able to move us and saved the trip. Great 2nd room.
When you stay at Fulton Lane Inn, you'll be within a 15-minute drive of College of Charleston and USS Yorktown. Guests looking to stay active can check out the nearby kayaking, and free perks include continental breakfast and WiFi.
Pros: The location cannot be beat--the art throughout adds to the atmosphere of the hotel.
Cons: Bed too high up--I needed a stepladder to get in--the hardwood floors were shined and polished so much that I thought I would slip and fall.
Pros: the vendue was wonderful. the staff were firefly and helpful and the room was very comfortable and well appointed. the location was also great. if you want even more character it may be better to say in the 26 vendue building but the advantage of 19, where I stayed, was that amenities were closer.
Pros: Excellent staff
Pros: Location, ambiance; roof deck
Cons: No Fitness area; limited toiletry selections; a little noisy ( it's old); you will pay a lot!
Cons: Walls are thin. Can hear neighbors
Pros: The overall vibe, from the room decor to the customer service was outstanding. Everything was clean, the room was better than expected, and the whole hotel was fun to walk through and view the artwork. The customer service across the board really made the experience though. Everyone was fantastic and eager to assist!
Cons: Only two minor strikes. The bed was almost too comfortable. It was extremely soft and the pillows were softer.
The rooftop bar was an awesome experience in the evening, however we arrived for lunch the first day and over half of the menu was unavailable at the time.
Pros: Perfect location and an art lovers dream.
Cons: The room could have been cleaner
Pros: Location was excellent. Walk to many restaurants, the waterfront, carriage rides and an open air market. Wonderful service from everyone there. Rooftop bar was fun!
Cons: It was very expensive, room was tiny, no views
Pros: really lovely hotel. The service is what stood out the most to me. Every single person I encountered was top notch (even more so than some internationally-known hotels I have stayed at). Even when there was a tiny issue with my room service (more on me for being picky) - there was no attitude from anyone, everyone was happy to make an adjustment. The replacement meal came in less than 10 minutes with apologies from the chef even! (And the meal was delicious, btw) I even received a follow-up call from reception about 30 minutes after I got to my room to make sure everything was ok. That's never happened to me before. The room was beautiful--dark wood floors, large four-poster king bed, updated bathroom. Top notch service, great location right by the waterfront and some amazing restaurants.
Cons: Noise: the wood floors are so beautiful, but that means you have to hear your inconsiderate neighbors clunk around on their floors with their shoes on. Perhaps a very sweet note when guests check in (or in the room) that while the floors are beautiful, please be mindful of your neighbors and take your shoes off while in the room." Also, in the morning I could hear everyone's conversations from the hallway very loudly!
Size of Room/Bathroom: this is with the caveat that I had a very low rate that provided me with one of the more standard rooms, so it was not necessarily unexpected. For what I paid, it was a decent size, bathroom just decent size as well. If I actually planned to do work while there, I would recommend getting a bigger room as mine did not have a desk.
Cons: Wait staff could be friendlier at these prices
Located in Historic Charleston, this romantic hotel is within 1 mi (2 km) of Charleston Waterfront Park and College of Charleston. Waterfront Park and Port of Charleston Cruise Terminal are also within 5 minutes.
Pros: Great location and the room was one of the nicest we have ever been in..staff was great

Pros: The location was very good. I liked that they gave you 2 water bottles each day. The shower was great and the bathroom was VERY large.
Cons: The bed was very uncomfortable and the pillows were a joke. They were tiny and lumpy. The room could have been better maintained. One of the drawer pulls came loose. One day we didn't have enough towels. They usually provide 3 or 4, but we only had 2. I use 2 towels when I shower (one for hair and one for body). I didn't realize there were not enough towels. My husband got out of the shower and didn't have a towel! I had to give him one of my wet towels. When I told the girl at the front desk, she didn't even apologize. She just made a note to provide us with extra towels. We didn't want EXTRA towels. We just wanted the normal number. The AC was VERY loud! I had to turn up the TV every time it turned on.
Pros: Clean - but feels like motel 6 ..
For $ 300 a night - u really get nothing but location ..
Cons: Didn't like anything at all but the location - if they charged 145 a night and not 290 I prob would rave .. But for 290 a night one expect more services .. Or at least room service ...
The King Charles Inn is within walking distance from many top restaurants, attractions and shopping areas and is a great choice for business travelers and vacationers alike. Originally named the Pavilion Hotel around 1830, it often hosted artists and writers, including Edgar Allen Poe while he was stationed at nearby Fort Moultrie. Today, the King Charles Inn maintains that ambiance, combined with modern services and amenities.
Pros: Beautiful old hotel in the heart of the historical district. The location was perfect for restaurants and sightseeing. The staff was very friendly and the outdoor pool was an added perk! Easy all day parking in neaeby lot. Bed was very comfortable!
Cons: I hated the sliding door to the bathroom. It didn't offer much privacy but I find many boutique hotels favor them these days.
Pros: The entire staff----everyone with whom we had any contact---they were all very helpful and anxious to please.
Cons: The room was not very comfortable or easy to move around in . Bath was very outdated and not easy to use. Not very competitive or modern
Pros: great location, great view of the riverfront, very friendly and accommodating staff
Cons: paper coffee cups in room, walls were a little thin. the couple next to us were loud at all hours of the night. did not enjoy hearing them having sex!
Cons: Not worth the price. Very expensive rooms
Pros: I loved the complementary champagne, gorgeous pool surrounded by flowers & superb location. The friendly professional is very welcoming.
Cons: The bathroom doors are sliding & did not give the feeling of full privacy. The room was not spacious but very comfortable.
Pros: We visit Charleston often and this was our first time staying at the Mills House. It was beautiful! We stayed overnight and loved the location, decor, and the cleanliness. We parked in the parking garage and access to the hotel was very easy. This will be a place that we come back to in our future visits to Charleston.
Cons: Only small complaint I have was the pillows. They were fluffy until you laid on them, then they became flat and hard.
Pros: Great Location
Friendly Housekeeping staff
Convenient Parking if not valet
Great location to some excellent restaurants
I would stay here again
Cons: Restaurant and Bar in hotel I would not recommend
Service poor, house wine limited and poor, do not waste your time there are excellent places right out the door
No mooring coffee available in the lobby or at the bar. Was told it would be set up by 6am, but both days nothing between 530-700am
Pros: Excellent location in the historic area, exceptionally pleasant staff, very comfortable beds. If you eat breakfast every day, get the breakfast package. This made our stay even more relaxing. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
Cons: The bathroom was a bit snug. Price was high, but comparable for other hotels in the historic area.
Cons: Surprisingly the staff wasn't very friendly or helpful. They seems very aloof.
Pros: Small rooms, smaller bathrooms, no balconies, rooms badly need refurbished. Dingy looking. Not any nicer than a Super 8. It's conveniently located is the best that can be said for it, but at that price it's not worth it.
Stay at the Wentworth instead, only a bit more for an actual luxury hotel.
Pros: Location was great! Nice staff, clean and pool was a great bonus :)
Cons: Would have preferred a fridge in room but not totally necessary.
We had a great time so really nothing negative!
Pros: This hotel was beautiful. A rooftop pool, bar with outdoor patio, and excellent feature, this hotel was everything I had hoped for.
Located in Historic Charleston, this romantic hotel is within 1 mi (2 km) of Lime Blue and College of Charleston. Gibbes Museum of Art and Washington Park are also within 5 minutes.

Get started with a delicious, free Gallery Kitchen breakfast, or eat and meet throughout the day in our free-flowing Gallery, where you savor freshly prepared sandwiches and greens from our Gallery Menu and Market.
Pros: What I liked best of this hotel was that the room was as it was pictured on the web. The colors of the room and furniture were very soothing.
Cons: The layout of this room did not flow, the fend shui was poor.
Pros: The staff all have an excellent attitude and are all very friendly. The quality of the breakfast was one of the best we have encountered in our travels.
Pros: Space of the room
Cons: Misleading location. Downtown, as the hotel is named, is quite away
Nice hotel for the price.
Pros: The breakfast was nice and free.
Cons: They are renovating and it smelled of paint.
Pros: The hot breakfast was really awesome!! Staff was very attentive and quick to respond.
Cons: 'Suite' was a little small. Could have maybe done without one of the tables to allow for a little more room. Felt a little crowded. Didn't like that bathroom was only accessible by going through bedroom. Still a really good room.
The rooms gave you a living room, kitchenette and spacious bedroom
Pros: The hotel was very clean and offered breakfast and a lite dinner as well. It also had a lovely pool and wine at 6pm.The staff was lovely too.
Cons: It was a bit to far from center city, although shuttle service was offer daily up until 11:45 pm.
Pros: The staff was great. Everyone was extremely polite and helpful.
Cons: The furnishings of the room were a bit tired. The couch was not comfortable. The bed was a bit soft and the dinette and seating were just a bit worn.
Stanley was a great shuttle driver with lots of good info.
Cons: No - would like to have had the shuttle available during the day also.
Hotel was in process of shampooing all rooms, hoses, electric wires and machinery ran starting at 10:00- 4:00 each day was noisy and hoses unsafe stretched though halls. hotel should have minimized guests in these areas while doing this cleaning. Appliances and amenities were dated, sliding glass door to patio was off track and not lockable on 1st floor unit. Residence Inns are a premium upgraded hotel this one fell short of those standards, I have seen and used many times at other ones.
Pros: breakfast buffet was above average, fresh fruit, and choice of drinks along with real eggs and sausage
Cons: This is an older hotel that shows its dated age with appliances at least 10 years old, bed 'Queen' was so soft maid sleeping uncomfortable. Bathroom was clean but tile showed caulking and paint splatters, Vent was inoperative in bathroom.
We loved our stay here.
Pros: The Staff were unbeleivably helpful, friendly and polite. The Breakfast was terrific. The suite was very nice. Best 3 Star we ever stayed at.
Cons: Bed was two small for 2 people.
Pros: Room was very clean had everything I could possibly need the staff was extremely nice
Excellent facility and staff. Convenient to cruise terminal and downtown Charleston. Evening shuttle service was a great plus.
Pros: Loved the balcony off of our room. Evening reception and breakfast amazing! Wish I could have stayed longer!!

Pros: Charming, historic building right in the middle of everything. We walked or ubered everywhere. They had evening cheese and wine and sherry, which was a nice touch. The fireplace in the room was an excellent touch too, since it was FREEZING that weekend! Highly recommend and will be back for future visits.
Pros: The courtyard, the breakfast, the staff
Cons: Ad said free parking and we had to pay $12.00
Kings Courtyard Inn puts you within a 15-minute drive of College of Charleston and USS Yorktown. Guests looking to stay active can check out the nearby kayaking, and free perks include continental breakfast daily and WiFi. Rooms at this historic hotel offer flat-screen TVs and refrigerators.
Pros: Location is great - convenient walking distance to all areas.
The larger room is perfect for two
the breakfast is very good and convenient
the daily wine and cheese is an added plus!
paid parking is convenient
Cons: when we arrived - the small room we had smelled very moldy - we went back to the office and they gave us a better , larger room
our room was in the inner core - so no windows - the good news was that it allowed us to sleep longer in the morning
