The location of this hotel suited us very well. It was close to the main shopping streets and restaurant areas, and it was also between two metro stops which made it very easy to move around the city. The room we stayed in was very basic. We had issues with our room the first night and had to request to be moved to another room, which was quite inconvenient. As it was three girls, staying in a disabled room (the only ones they have as triple rooms, apparently!), the mirror and plug access for drying hair, etc, was very poor.
Hotel was very clean, well designed, excellent location - you can get to the center in less than 5 minutes walking. Breakfast buffet was also very impressive.
Central location. Friendly and helpful staff.
Great location, great breakfast, nice staff, WiFi signal at floor 4 Did not work, so i had to go down to reception to use internet
Great location, good and friendly service
Walking in to the centre of Pest, The breakfast was excellent with lots of choice and plenty of it. Reception staff were not very good at giving help and directions when asked how to get somewhere.
The air conditioning didn't work properly. It was awfully hot in the room (25°C in November). I got one of the four nights for free (which is nice for my boss).
this hotel is really a great one. everything is excellent in this hotel. if you go to budapest , this hotel is the only choice. the reception staff is excellent. thanks .
This hotel was in the most perfect location! The Xmas market was right behind the hotel, the river and Chain bridge were about 2-3 blocks away, and the famous shopping street, Vaci uti was 1 block away. The rooms were so comfortable, and they provided slippers and plush bathrobes. The perfumed smell in the lobby and hallways was a bit overwhelming (luckily it did not permeate the rooms or it would have been a problem). They kept playing an Ad for their hotel on the TV which I found sexist and offensive (showing their maid taking a bubble bath and dressing in a lace thong before coming to work at the Kempinski hotel chain (what is that all about?).
lovely helpfull staff,nice live music.
Staff very helpful. good sized room and value for money on the special deal we had Breakfast expensive
central location, good quality no tea/cofee making facilities in the room and no bath robes
The hotel is very nicely situated. The room (normal double) was pleasantly furnished (colours, materials) and spacious. Especially bathroom was both rational and impressive. The overall impression and experience was very pleasant. At the same time, the room begins to show minor marks of ageing; small stains here and there, desk somewhat battered. Tv set small/old fashioned and did not work fully all the time. The personnel is professional and helpful - yet more discreet than friendly. The fitness center was modestly equipped and small; hooks or lockers for bathrobe/towel would also be useful.
Fabulous Hotel. Staff extremely helpful. Rooms spotless. In an excellent location 5 minutes walk from the Opera House, 5 minutes to main shopping area. We got excellent value as we were staying for more than 4 nights. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone going for a break to the beautiful city of Budapest. It was very expensive for drinks or to eat in but this did not cause a problem as it is so central and there is a huge choice right outside your door.
All was excellent!
location, size of room, folks at front desk were very helpful
Given a free upgrade with great views. Fantastic location too.
loction, comfort, view, value for money Queen size rather than king siza mattress in superior room
I have been planning to stay in Budapest for over a year now. It was really important to me that the hotel has an excellent location and I preferred the spa experience over the view of the Danube. However... Only my first day was I able to use the sauna. I was the one who had to discover that it is broken and over heating. I had a burn mark from the previous day and the next morning I discovered that the thermo meter is not working any more it was extremely hot in there and since they could not fix the problem they had to shut it down for the rest of my stay... I was disappointed since that was the reason I booked Kempinski...
Excellent! Nice location, fantastic view from our room.
location, view, fresh fruit at breakfast staff attitude, concierge service (great help with train booking) swimming pool, business centre facility smoking in the bar loss of upstairs piano bar since last visit about 2004 too much salt used in cooking e.g we couldn't eat the bacon
The location is great, also the lobby and restaurant, lounge. I ordered room service in the evening and the first thing in the morning someone of the staff tried to enter the room to pick up the dishes, later they came back and knocked, first they tried to open using a key card, they woke me up around 8 am. Up to then it was all good, friendly staff, great location, maybe they need some extra dishes.
Breakfast and location
I stayed with family and we have very good experience and it was good advantage of possibility to access business center 24/7.
Terrific location, right next to Chain Bridge and less than a 5-minute walk to the edge of the main square. Gorgeous views of Castle Hill as soon as you walk outside. Easy walk to the bridge and funicular starting point. The room had absolutely no view; it just looked out onto other rooms.
I like best the service ans the breakfast which was excellent. The staff was very helpful and nice. Also, the restaurant of the hotel "Paris-Budapest" was fantastic! I did not like the difference in prices between the hotel's taxy and the local. Hotel's taxy takes more then double local price. Also the fitness room was really poorly organised. There were a few weihgtlifts and one treadmill, which was occupied all the time.
Fantastic location... you can't get any closer to the chain bridge. Great room, friendly staff and very efficient service.
The stay was friendly and willing to help you to find your away around Budapest from transportation, restraurants, and night life. Great place would go back prefect location
Virtually everything was great! Had no complaints.
Location, room The concierge was not professional, not that friendly and tried to send us to the places she is getting higher commission from. It was very unpleasant experience. We had to go to the next door hotels to get the info we needed. I think that 5 stars hotel can do much better in giving its guests an accurate info.
Excellent location and great breakfast. Concierge staff excellent, we needed to get a taxi to the country and she ordered the taxi then came out to talk to the drive to ensure he new where to take us. Check in staff not very welcoming, in fact he was on the phone for some of the process, didn't offer any information about the hotel, breakfast times etc. Only one pair of slippers in the room and two towels for a Twin room, called housekeeping to ask for more items to be brought to the room, an hour later they still hadn't brought them so had to call again. Next day no towels in room as they had run out, left a note in room to say they would be delivered but they never did. Obviously don't cope well if the hotel is full.
Used the health club. Organised a city tour.
A very nice view
Comfort of beds. Room position and views. Use of Executive lounge. Location for both shopping and tourism Mugs & milk for in-room coffee/tea taken by housekeeping & not replaced daily
Location. Useof the executive club. Views from the hotel Room cleaning staff were inefficient. One day did not clean room. We had to aske each day to have our room cleaned. When it was cleaned, it was done well,
With it's incredible view of the Buda castle, this hotel has the best location The building is old ; very small and ugly bathroom , rather adequate for a 3* hotel, no slippers or bath gown, no bidet. Not a 5* hotel, never go back again, there are too many other good choises in this beautiful city.
The location and view Staff was not that helpful
We enjoyed our stay The barhroom size in the Suite was rather small. It could benefit from an larger bathroom etc.
really good location for sightseeing. Nice big room and polite staff. Good breakfast. bathroom was empty: no robber, no flip-flops, only shampoo, conditioner and body lotion. For the money that they want it can be better.
The convenient location and friendly staff. Yes, I believe the breakfasts are much too high. After all - continental breakfast -water(coffee) Juice and pastry- hardly merits $21.++
Excellent location, very friendly and helpful staff, really good breakfast The room was a bit on the small side
Staff exceptionally helpful & accommodating. Breakfast outstanding. Location perfect. We would stay again & highly recommend. Shower clumsy to use. Water splashed everywhere. Would have liked a comfortable chair in room.
Location, obvious...the hotel is located on Danube's embankment, with a gorgeous view. The architecture of the hotel...it's ugly (this is my personal view.).
the location!!!!!!!!!! everything was ok!
Location and quality of room. Excellent service from all staff. Price of breakfast was expensive; even for 5 star hotel.
Spacious room, great club lounge with nice selection of food and beverages Staff at reception rather unfriendly. Staff coming into the room despite 'don't disturb' sign on the door.
The staff were excellent, including the desk staff, bellman, doorman, and driver! They couldn't have been nicer! The location of the hotel is also first-rate. It offers an excellent view of the river and is situated close to many sight-seeing attractions. Smoking is permitted in the hotel lobby/bar. It made for an unpleasant entrance into the hotel. The bathroom in the room was small as well.
I stayed just one night it is therefore difficult to say any more
Excellent location, very friendly and helpful staff The swimming pool was cold
nice room, perfect location and excellent service from the staff
Location Room well equiped but a bit smelly... Old type of shower spraying everywhere, noisy but not efficient aircondition. Even when the price was relatively fine (thanks to early and non refundable booking) it is highly probable I will not return.
Good accommodation and excellent dining facilities
Great Service and best location
Good location in shopping district; easy access to all transport; free internet; good breakfast available
great location not informed about the on going renovation (noisy and dusty)
Excellent in terms of location with very friendly and helpful staff. Perfect for sightseeing and close to all main attractions.
Location Bathroom is very poorly planned. Example; water all over the fllor when taking a shower. Not worth the price they charge.
Excellent downtown hotel for both business and leisure at very reasonable prices !
easy to go everywhere.. to bus station, metro, shooping center... never
Room size, cleanliness, linen, location No
Location is very good for business trips as well for touristic trips Preference for non-smoking room was disregarded. Only after a chat at the reception, wee have moved to a non-smoking room.
good location for sightseeing, excellent breakfast, helpful staff
We were looking for a boutique hotel off the beaten track but in retrospect should have stayed at the Four Seasons or Intercon where the levels of service are as you would expect. There is no real concierge service at this hotel and the staff at the desk struggled to make recommendations and bookings. House keeping seemed to be annoyed to receive requests and then delivered the wrong items. Generally the service was very poor including cleaning of the room - used glasses were left in our room for 3 days until we specifically requested they be removed. In summary - the only plus point is the location as it is near to St Stephens Basilica but I would strongly recommend you stay at one of the better known hotels near to the Chain Bridge.
Great location, staff and service. High quality breakfast. Close to attractions.
Very helpful staff.
Staff was extremely friendly and helpful with service such as arranging for a dinner table in a fancy restaurant nearby the hotel after our late arrival. Just the rainshower in the bathroom couldn't get started and there was kind of plastic under the linen...
not close to underground.
The Parlament Hotel is a lovely relaxing hotel where staff are very helpful and friendly
Excellent breakfast. Fast internet access.
The lobby, breakfast, staff, location very close parliament and the metro. The beds. My husbsnd and I were on our honeymoon and were put in a room with twin beds. Also the room furnishings felt like they were all from Ikea. Still a fantastice place to stay.
The hotel was well positioned especially for the opera house. The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable. There was no complimentary water in the bedrooms and the mini bar was too expensive. Although there was free water in the day in the lounge. The rooms were over heated and all the party had problems adjusting the temperature so in the end we all switched off all air conditioning and heating.
excellent location..very helpful staff
The hotel was charming and was in a decent location (good because it is on a quiet street away from tourists and noise, but not great because it is a little bit away from the more central part of the city with restaurants, pubs, and shopping). The staff were very helpful and friendly, and breakfast and coffee were provided (until 10am and 4pm respectively). Most major amenities are available to guests and the decor is nice. The rooms were small and felt a bit stuffy, which was the feel for the hotel as a whole, so the rooms felt hot after a while. The location is nice if you like being away from loud areas, but it is a little removed from most of the central bustle of Budapest.
Innovative room below the roof, quiet despite being fully booked, nice staff around breakfast area, good selection for breakfast, frequent flyer miles were credited immediately after stay Non-closing door to bathroom
free internet, rooms, staff, jacuzzi all excalent same breakfast every day maybe sometimes they could change a few things on the morning menu variety
large newly decorated room, comfortable bed, excellent staff curtains are very thin, sun wakes you up at 5am. Road outside is very noisy
Nice room, if small-ish. Good breakfast, good location. The concierge was excellent, very helpful.
Location was good and staff were helpful. Nice restaurant. It is very noisy - with road noise and renovations. The beds are very uncomfortable. Asked for a king and got two mattresses pushed together which kept coming apart
The art deco apperance to the hotel The breakfast was poor for the price
The location of the hotel is very good. It is just next to the Vati Utca and so close to the Donau.
Service and excellent location
Staff remembering my name when checking in. Dining room was good for food - but the tables weren't cleaned properly between diners.
Truly excellent breakfast buffet!
friendly and helpful staff, hotel close to the center/ in the center Standard rooms are old, especially the bath room in this category was not four stars. That the standard room is not renewed is not mentioned in the description
Ideal City break location but restaurant staff were too formal and stuffy, hence restaurant was poorly utilised by locals/gusts almost every night of our stay Restaurant staff were dressed as per 1950's -old and stuffy-yet restaurant is advertised within hotel as "trendy". Need to change,
Location is right off Vaci utca pedestrian shopping street, completely tourist area, with overpriced tourist knick-knack shops. At least it is near to the Nagy Vasarcsarnok (Great Market Hall) which is a bit of a tourist attraction, and near to Szabadsag Hid (Freedom Bridge). Could hear people running around from the room above. No concept of customer service, concierge non-existent (just an empty section of the front desk). E-mails sent to the hotel prior to arrival were not satisfactorily addressed. Television channels missing on the first night, and tv interface is horrible - straight from 2005. Breakfast room very crowded, never enough seats. People were eating in the bar, on short tables due to lack of seating space. Food could be old in the buffet, dried out/stale. This happened on several days. Air-conditioning was tempermental - either too hot or too cold. Beds were cheap, made a lot of noise from poor construction - think cheap wooden slats for support. They temporarily lost the luggage I left with them the morning of checkout, they couldn't remember that it was placed in the overflow room just 1 hour before. An unnecessary headache. I wouldn't stay again - the Zara Intercontinental Hotel on Dohany utca is better located, and service couldn't be any worse.
The location of the hotel was convenient within the city. The hotel front desk staff is inexperienced. The hotel does have potential to be very inviting, but the young staff needs more training on hospitality and concierge services. This was a disappointment to us as new comers to the city.
Location, facilities, staff
Amazing location, great design & style, 5* staff
Fantastic location, right next to the pedestrian street with lots of shops and restaurants. The staff were very helpful as well.
Best location, trendy hotel, very helpful staff
The bed Parking place
Breakfast buffet was nicely set up, with efficient staff assist during the meal. Location is excellent and the room truly comfortable. Good design...reason, along with rate, for selecting it on your website. The free access internet for travellers without a laptop is one portable pc for use in the lobby. I thought this an inefficient offering, and proved difficult for staff who tried to share the pc around among guests...but with some difficulty.
Exceeded our expectations. Best location in town. Very central to everything. Great staff. Great breakfast buffet. Lovely design. Very clean!!!
The best thing at B.H. Zara was the hotel staff, they were pleasant, helpful, professional. The reception area/lobby was designed beautifully, the toilet in the lobby was fine. I did not like the room, it was rather gloomy, stuffy, with window to opposite brick wall. The breakfast was ok, but having to queue for coffee (too small capacity of the coffee machine) was not nice.
Staff is very helpful and pleasant. Great location: just off of Vaci street and Market Center, excellent location to be used as a base for sightseeing Budapest and only 25 min to the international airport. I stay here every time I am traveling through Hungary and only have a day in Budapest.
extremely central, helpful staff, good breakfast rooms were fairly small but this was not a problem for us as we were out most of the time
Location ideal, we consider it very good value
It's conveniently located in the centre of the city, within easy walk to various places of interest and to public transports. No kettle in the room for making coffee or tea.
There are good staff, good location of hotel, I didn;t have any problem with check-in and check-out. Good buffet. It was very noisily- I headed all in the next room. The cleanliness was not good - it was dust on the furniture then I came to the room. Dirung my stay (5 dayes) cleane staff didn't make vacuum cleaner.
The location was excellent and the staff w ere quite helpful The carpets wre filthy both in the bedroom and the corridors. the breakfast was very basic and not worth the money. We booked a double room but wre given a twin
close to main shopping area and few mins walk to river lobby very quiet work going on, no tea, coffee in room
Excelent location and clean hotel! I have to pay extra and expensive for internet access and TV movies. Internet and breakfast should be included in price :-)
The hotel has an excellent location, near pedestrian zone. It is in a quiet street. It has connected rooms for families. The staff is very kind. And with very good rates.
Heating in Bedrooms erratic - too hot or too cold no controls to be found, also no safe in bedroom.
The hotels location is central Budapest , with excellent transport links to explore the city . The hotel is a business class hotel , with all the usual facilities you would expect , with a very competitive price to match.
Well located, comfortable, and a great bargain.
Perfect location, good service, English speaking staff, non smoking rooms breakfast and city tax has to be included
Its very central, and on transport lines Rooms are very warm, and the overall decor is a bit modern cheap.
The friendliness of the staff and above all the location of the hotel was excellent. It is exactly were you want to be to be closed to everything. The price was very good - around 70euro per night. The hotel has a very very bad policy on breakfast. They overcharge you for it - 17euro per person per night - and even if you did not go for breakfast they still charge you! Then you have to actually go and tell them that you did not have any breakfast in order to remove it from your bill. This is unacceptable for a hotel of this class. I would reccomend to stay out of the breakfast room and check your bill before you pay it.
Very clean and comfortable in a good location. Conceirge and reception was very professional.
The cleanlines of the rooms, air con, and the services available.
good location and staff was very helpfull breakfast buffet very bussy and presentation / choise acceptable but could be better
Very close to shoping area and good in value for money The breakfast and service was poor
Great location for site seeing, metro access, the incredible indoor market, the Danube and the city centre/shopping. Don't be fooled by mention of an airport shuttle on the hotel details. There is no free of charge dedicated Mercure minibus running to an from the airport, like it does in other places. this actually simply means the hotel will book you an airport transfer on request. The airport has it's own shuttle service which costs about 3,000 Forint to the hotel.
the junior suite which I booked was not so spacious as I expected, but it has one bathroom and a toilet. the staff. Very impolite. Maybe they are too busy to notice, because it looks like the hotel it is a transit hotel, not a leisure one, but still..At breakfast, very crowded, we finally manage to find a table shared with other people, we stayed longer than the closing hours for breakfast 6 30 to 10 00, and the method to get rid of all the ones which were eating still, was to move tables, and chairs very noisy. Anyway, they should extend the hours for beakfast till 11 00, for all ones which like to sleep more in the morning as myself.
