Location was excellent. Staff was friendly. Met the Hilion standard.
Location All good
A fine hotel in a very central CBD location. No.
Profesionality and kindness of staff. As I checked out there was a surcharge because I was paying with credit card ... I showed my 'booking com' reservation where nowhere was written about this surcharge and they took it off! This is really added value and I will go back!
Great hotel and location. Very good breakfasts
Room as booked as Execuative plus but only and execuative room as provided which did not match the pictures on the web site
The location was perfect, the staff were very friendly and helpful, and the room was very comfortable. I know parking is very limited in the city, but I did think the price for valet parking was a bit steep.
The facilities and the staff friendliness. The parking fee is too expensive.
We have been there a few times and find the central location to be excellant plus we know in advance that the standard of the accomodation will not disappoint There is nothing not to like
Good size room. Knowledgeable concierge. Perfect breakfast staff. Too expensive hotel parking.
The close proximity to the city.
Kabuki Restaurant Had lunch at the courtyard restaurant and thought the service poor and the prices high.
Closeness to all city facilities. nothing
Look and style. The ambience. Location is terrific. Mini bar pricing was not competitive. > Pillows were not comfortable. > Handle on televsion cabinets were broken > The smell of the bathroom towels were not pleasant. They were clean but the laundry powder used was not fragrantly appealing > Bar staff on the night were not managing the waiting patrons effectively
a classy yet relaxed hotel. breakfast was excellent but was only worth buting when we got the discount vouchers as it was rather expensive otherwise.
It is a very comfortable place to stay. We couldn't use the hotel on the Saturday night as it was booked out with functions. On the Sunday night nothing was open and the riverside bar had a function. We still have our free drink and food vouchers as they couldn't be used.
Every time I stay at the Stamford Plaza Brisbane I always leave feeling like the staff have gone above and beyond to make my stay enjoyable. When you require a twin room it would be nice to have something bigger than a king single bed. Even a double bed would be a better option.
Attentive staff, and a delightful location for breakfast, in particular (The Brasserie). The quality of the breakfast was also very good. Rooms just a little clastrophobic. And it would be nice to be able to open a window rather than rely on airconditioning. A balcony would be even better! However, I note a male person "fell" from the balcony of an adjacent hotel on the evening (or there abouts) we visited!
Close to the function we where attandind Hotel needs a face lift
Easy check in, quiet location
Good location. The breakfast is too expensive.
The staff we're impeccably professional and catered for every need. Hotel was very clean and well presented and our upgrade to one of their suites showed us another level of this wonderful hotel! There is nowhere better to relax or even lye by a pool right in Brisbane's CBD!! Nothing really to write about as negative but a suggestion would be to review the car parking charges for guests as this could be subsidised a little more in my eyes
Convienient for public transport & city access. Feather/down pillow.Comfortable room.24hour facilities
bathroom grout was covered in mildew. really unacceptable in this level of hotel. pool closed too early at night.
hotel was fab. staff were so friendly and very helpful. great breakfast buffet with great selection.
Excellent check in and check out service and also service at Cuvee lounge also excellent
Location Complimentary water and chocolates were not there on arrival. Delivered 5 hours after. Coffee machine but no coffee cups, delivered 2 hours after I called reception. $38 parking fee.
First class buniness man hotel. Great staff
The room was tidy and the complimentary champagne made the evening - though it had to be asked for. The concierge seemed rude at first during check-in.
The staff are amazingly friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful time and always felt welcomed. The shower/bath controller stuck so water comes out into the bath but that was more funny than unliked and it just meant that the pressure was low.
very helpfull and friendly staff. I can not complain
It was such a short visit but concierge desk most helpful The coffee - need a good barista
Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Excellent location and presentation of the hotel. On site parking, dining and in the Brisbane CBD.
Pleasant location with an old world feel A bit expensive
Classy hotel, excellent large rooms & great position.
It was great to be so close to all facilities that were of interest to almost every type of person for e.g. gamberling, dining, clubs and pubs or just driving around exploring sites of interest. Not knowing where we were going we missed the valet parking "twice"because we couldn’t see any signage so just went to the public car park but is was just as good I believe anyway as our parking was validated. Thanks guys!
helpfulness of reception staff Noise - we were in room 117 and it was very noisy between a function in the atrium and a bar behind it. Lack of a plan to show us where facilities were.
We loved being right in the heart of Brisbane, and having the casino for entertainment was great Loved the deep bath
The location of the hotel was good for city shopping, and the Staff were friendly and obliging in regards our baggage, and assistance with Taxi's We chose to stay in a Smoking Room, however, never realised that this meant you could actually smoke in the room, we found the smell to be offensive (even to us as smokers). We assumed that Smokers Room, meant you had access to a balcony outside the floor to smoke. So if you can handle the strong smell of smoke you will be happy in this type of room.
Close to the city Having to pay for parking in a seperate parking lot and having the parking ticket expire after 24hrs.
I liked the hotel because it was comfortable, at a good location and had friendly, happy staff.
hotel was better than expected.Room was ready when we arrived early in the morning, central to most attractionsetc, staff polite and friendly. no faults
It is centrally located in Brisbane. There are no parking facilities for this hotel and it uses Hotel Mercure's, a bit of a pain to get to because of traffic patterns.
Location and quietness Mould on tiles in bathroom and a dirty light switch in the bathroom. Pillows were too hard
Excellent, professional, & quick response to complaint. Walls seem to be too thin! Or, at least need better soundproofing...
it was close to the casino and mall in the CBD we had to pay a security deposit upon arrival which we didnt know about and didnt have. the hotel worked out something for us though so we could stay. it would have been nice to have been made aware of this either by the ibis diectly or through your company.
The bed was comfortable The parking was really bad and having to pay $51.00 for less than 24 hours is rediculous
It was comfortable and close to southbank
Rydges has a great location. Close to South bank, concerts, shopping, galleries, etc.
very helpful and friendly staff, very efficient at check in and check out bed was not ideal - one side sagged, bathroom a bit outdated/tired
The offer of an upgrade of rooms for only a little more each night. I was attending a conference, all facilities and events well coordinated and of a high standard. Great location, spent most of my time in South Bank. Everything was at our door step. Friendly, knowledgeable staff will to help us with all requests. All good , I can't think of anything not to like
Perfect Location to the Southbank Markets, Brisabne and beautiful restaurnants Not so much the hotel, but the Taxi service they phoned for us & used was very poor.
The location is second to none for ease to walk everywhere. I think it is expensive for what you get-i.e. no wireless internet included.Unable to book through reception over the weekend.
accessibility to southbank, its market and resturants. The fact that for the 5 nights I was there the gym and sauna were not operating due to renovations. This was not stated on the Hotel.com site. It was one of the reasons I booked it.Very disappointing. The hotel did provide alternative places but its just not the same and inconvenient.
Dining room menu was limited and food was not of the highest quality. The CBD bar had basic food( chips.burgers etc) but extremely noisy. As a rydges priority guest, because we booked through you,we were not allowed the 10% room rate discount.next time we will book direct with the hotel.
Comfortable room, nice size The TV was slow to operate and awkward to turn on. Room prices seemed quite high, probably related to the Ashes being played in Brisbane at the time.
its ease to the Convention Centre and South bank. Train services very accessible also. Probably a little excessive in price during peak periods.
Very helpful easy access godd area for eating and entertainment unable to get hot drink later part of evening in the cafe area
I liked the bed, and bed linen. The actual room was lovely and the hotel itself was impressive. I was very disappointed with the state of the pool. They should have closed it as the area was under construction. Instead they kept it open and it wasn't heated so you couldn't swim in it anyway. Plus there was construction grit all around the pool which you could feel when you walked around it. I purposely chose the Marriot for the pool as we were planning on using it with our 3 year old son as a great place for entertaining him. Upon check out too, one of the staff on reception tried to charge us for breakfast though it was included in our booking. She then didn't believe us and we had to produce the email that we'd received from bookings.com. The impression she gave us was that she was reluctant to accept even this as proof!
close and conveinient to city, luxruy and relaxing enviroment with excelent frsteraunts and staff
Location very good. Rooms excellent. Good pool. Bar staff rude when complained to reception about attitude, unsatisfactorily resolved.
We loved the restaurant and the proximity to the city shops and cinemas was very convenient.
Everything was perfect. Lovely staff. Lovely rooms. The room was great value but everything else was very expensive.
Excellent hotel, well placed in Brisbane city centre.
Everything was excellent, great river view, good room service
Bathroom needs updating. The bathroom title are broken and worn. I paid for 5 star. That doesn't meet my 5 star standard
the whole place was fantasticthe staff couldnt do enough to help us we will be going back again the stay wasnt long enough
Very friendly staff and great facilities, good proximity to brisbane attractions (few though there are)
the room was spacious with nice view of stony bridge, lighting up whole night. Enjoyed very much of the river view Swimming pool was locked in the morning. I had to go to reception every morning for a week to open the door. Someone from the hotel tried to charge 16,000 $ on my credit card and I had to deal with my credit company. International phone call to my credit company for 10 minite costed me about 150 AUD. No one apologised from the hotel until I demanded it.
Very upmarket hotel upgraded to the executive floor everything available
we did not see many other quests and it was so quiet. The beds are exceptional and we had a beautiful river view. I was placed in a smoking room and had to be moved, then the new room's bathroom must have been closed up for quiet a while and smelt like stale sewage but came good after a short airing. Also I ordered room service late in the after of arrival, when finished I phoned room service and advised them it was outside the room, every time we came and went we had to step over it, this did not bother me but what did shock me is when we received more room service in the middle of the night the room attendant actually stepped over the tray in the hallway as he left.
Friendly staff Very early construction work every day.
The proximity to the city, and the friendly helpful staff. n/a
Convenience The shower water poured into the doorway of the shower. Bad shower design.
Location - just a ferry ride from the city but far enough away. Nice views of river and Story Bridge. Good food and service at the cafe within the hotel They put us into a class of room below what we'd paid for and we had to move. Bed was a bit uncomfortable. One of the desk staff was good but others could have been more helpful.
location poor value for money, room ammenities poor
Location. We were a same day booking - having booked about 9am and turning up about 3pm. They did not have our booking in the system and we were informed by reception that it was out the back. Breakfast service/food let them down. Perhaps they were short staffed, I only saw one waiter and one cook. They ran out of forks and didn't appear to have time to clear tables.
Friendly helpful staff. Upgraded to 1 bed unit although for one night did not make huge difference. Close to where I need to be for business I had dinner there which was disappointing risotto must have been pre prepared as arrived very quick. Did not intend having breakfast but as no cafe close by had Bacon & eggs. Arrived with no toast.and did not look very appetising.
Price was ok. TVs were nice. Service was good and very friendly. Room service was very fast with food This was listed as an airport hotel and it's a $50 Uber ride from the airport. The doors are paper thin so you can hear all the noise in the hall like the doors were open. They should replace all the doors. Breakfast was far too simple for the price. Never brought up the converter I'd requested
The bedding was awesome; the staff were helpful; well appointed, decent size room. Switching the taps between the shower and the bath was not as easy as it could have been; the lack of signage or instructions did not assist. The windows in the room could have perhaps been cleaner.
Staff were great working under very difficult circumstances with all the ongoing renovations! Great Greek salad! Shame that some of the facilities were not available due to the renovations such as the pool etc Cooked breakfast wasn't too great either!
Close to Spring Hill and the river We'd booked two rooms, one for my husband and myself, the other for our adult daughter. We asked if the rooms were different, if one was better for a couple, and told there was no difference. In fact, one had a much larger bathroom. The staff should have known this and advised us accordingly.
It was central, well known brand and useful as an overnight stay, and had a secure carpark. On the top of the Hotel half the neon lights spelling out the Hotel's name were broken, so the name of the Hotel was unrecognisable when driving to it at night.
The swimming pool, the view and the restaurant and its friendly wait staff. I liked that we could leave our bags without any hassle. The cabs came quickly. The noise from the renovations in the afternoon! I didn't like the lack of a sewing kit in the room and the lack of a newspaper at the door although I got these by asking at reception.
Very little. It was poor value for money and I would not recommend it to anyone. There was no free parking for hotel guests. The hotel is a long way from the CBD and surrounded by steep hills. The rates are high but the facilities are poor. The room was serviced but no fresh towels were provided. The interior of the rooms are pleasant enough but the corridors and elevators are dated and shabby.
Modern, clean, friendly service. Compact room but still spacious enough to function. Beautiful view and the lovely Roma St Parklands across the road. If you want to walk to the city expect a decent uphill walk on the way back.
great staff especially nicola and very comfortable. the restaurant was very good too.
Friendly guests and staff The mildew on the grouting in the bathroom
We really enjoyed the spa and pool on the roof. The room and the view were both excelent. The housekeepers did a wonderful job and it was a pleasure to come back to our room in a clean and well presented state. Thought it was very strange to find 1 bottle of water and 1 apple left for us as complimentry when there were 2 of us staying in the room.
The weekend deal was very good with the first class buffet breakfast and the complimentary parking as part of the deal The folding door into the bathroom was poor and ours did not shut properly.
Nothing Rooms overpriced, cleanliness poor, in room facilities poor especially internet connections, Restaurant overrated and expensive, car parking fees charged when free days on public holidays, Breakfast over priced and poor quality (eg no fresh eggs), Electrical items in room defective.
good position very helpfull staff small rooms , hotel; needs general update
Location is fantastic and value for money.
convinient transportation to everywhere a bit cold when stay in the hotel
Visiting a medical specialist and just walking and shopping around the city.
The proximity to the city was great and as we were only overnighting the fact that the price included breakfast was wonderful Looking at a brick wall through the window.
The location was fantastic. I wished that the rooms had been a touch larger. But the location was fantastic. The room was clean and tidy. T No complaint.
The location. The no smoking rules......
Close to everything in CBD. Good restaurant. Reception staff not helpful or welcoming. No clear directions on parking. Bin in bathroom not emptied.
I was very happy with location, the entrance lounge and the availability of food at the Hotel. Pleasant rooms well presented. Absolute value for money. No
Quality of room and proximity to everything. TV was only really working for two channels.
Location and easy access for transport shops eating places and the city atmosphere plus helpful staff
position, breakfast. doona to hot, would like a top sheet
Foxtel on the TV, the bed was comfortable. The internet connection fee is a rip off, to be charged for internet connection when you're not in your room working is appalling. Why can't the hotel charge when in use only? I am aware it's outsourced by an IT consultancy but nevertheless I'm sure the Holiday Inn make money on it. The other point is if i knew there was a rail station right on the hotel I would not have chosen the hotel. Found it difficult to sleep as a result.
Centrally located in the heart of Brisbane CBD. Public transport and other travel facilities at the front door. Hotel across the road had cheap good quality food. Very few 'modern' facilities. Parking as a guest is a rort paying an extra $28 overnight.
We were welcomed by a nice and pleasant receptionsit, the room was large and in good condition. There was a bit of noise from the railway station so next time I will specifiy a room on the road side.
Excellent, efficent, helpful staff
the central location was excellent for a city break - the hotel was very quiet and the room was a good size.
The convenient location
proximity to suncorp stadium. Rate was cheap given it was origin night.
Staff were uniformly really friendly and helpful - upgraded us following a cancelled flight. Breakfast great - omelettes to order. Beds and rooms comfy and clean with nice extras. Spas on 18 floor fabulous and hard to leave.
I liked the relaxation Food was expensive
Polite friendly staff, good access to carpark and to the airport. Liked the televised arrival / depature facility for Brisbane Airport. Great restaurant with reasonable prices. For a hotel only 3 months old we were surprised to find towel rails rusting and no power point in the bathroom. The bathroom was badly designed, cramped and fogged up very quickly (maybe the cause of the rusting towel rails)with the steam intruding into the bedroom area if the bathroom door was left open and fogged up the dressing mirror. The entrance to the restaurant gives a poor impression with its matt finish white painted solid doors badly marked with shoe scuffing etc as there is no kickboard. Not a good impression for the restaurant.
The fact that the Supermarket and Direct Factory Outlets (DFO) which houses most Brands are directly next door to the hotel is excellent and very convinient for travellers like me. One can also catch the TBus right outside the DFO to the airport terminals. I am already recommending this hotel to my colleagues who usually transit through Brisbane. It's an exellent location and very convinient if you wanna do last minute shoppings before boarding a flight. None
The staff on reception and in the restaurant were extremely helpful and we would have no problems in recommending the hotel to our friends and family.
We flew in late and flew out early the next morning, it was comfortable, clean, and close to the airport. If I flew back though Brisbane I would stay there again. There may be a shuttle bus, but we weren'r offered a shuttle bus to the airport so caught a taxi for $17, We thought that was an expense we shouldn't have to front considering it was the "airport hotel and the cost of the room.
comfort and cleaness to far from city and can't get more dinner options
Proximity to airport for early flight nothing
location, room ok food very poor, very expensive: ripp-off ! one of the attending persons at the reception was there only to collect his salary, not really interested to attend "guests"
Nickel and dimed, plus you have to request real pillows
We enjoyed the welcoming staff at reception, the room was very comfortable. The staff in the bar, coffee shop and restaurant were all very pleasant. We also left an item of clothing behind and the staff were very helpful finding and returning same
Helpfulness and friendliness of hotel staff and good selection of foods at breakfast.
Valet Parking, easy to find, great location, the bed sheets and bed was very comfortable. No
It central position..great for staying in Brisbane Mold and rust in bathroom
The convienent location, the friendly helpful staff and excellent facilities
The hotel is very well maintained and clean. The view into Anzac Square was very pleasant and it is very well positioned in the CBD making it easy to walk to places of interest. Rates and location big draw card for us. Nothing it is a good place to stay.
It was close to the City you could walk everywhere.Very Freindly kind staff. Lovely room. Close to all public Transport. The parking bay out the front of the Hotel not really big enough, we had trouble pulling in there due to other vehicles being in there all the time
Ideal location - just across the road from station. easy access to city centre- shops bars etc.
Spacious living room and mini kitchen. Combo washer drier has too complicated.
Location was very convenient for shops and transport (airport train outside your door), and I liked the old building, much more pleasant than a modern hotel.
Antique furniture The DVD player and stereo supplied in each room looked out of place and the TV remote was hard to work
bed was comfortable - can't recommend much else rate was disproportionate to quality of facilities - is a tired hotel (stained carpets, rusty fittings etc.) with mediocre facilities demanding premium rates.
Location was excellent - just opposite Central Rlwy station and easy access from airport via airtrain. The staff moved us to another suite when our aircon broke down - and did it really well. Easy walk to shops and Queen St mall. Restaurant breakfast and room disappointing for the price.
