Besides delayed baggage on the way to Ottawa, everything went well. Baggage was delivered on the following day. On the return, there was no indication of where to find baggage at LAX on the screen, which took some time to find out. There is room for improvement...
This flight and crew made me feel good about my decision to go with Westjet. The entire process was relatively positive. Nothing to complain about.
The boarding process was more like a circus than an ordered process. It wasn’t necessarily the Westjet staff, as it was people attempting to push in and board early. The seats in economy are far too small and limiting; I am aware that this is a transaction for money.. I’d just like to feel less like cargo or cattle. I got what I wanted, a trip from point A to point B, it just wasn’t an experience that left me feeling good about the company or the experience. If I’m comparing Westjet with o other flights, it could have been better in service, in seat room, and just little things like a smile from the staff letting you know that it’s not just a job for them.
If our flight actually left and was not cancelled!
Check in is not efficient. I had to get boarding passes and pay for chosen seats at the airport - long lines too. On line Pre-flight check-in doesn't work and kiosks don't let you check in even without checked bags.
Everything was good.. just the ride was a bit bumpy but it’s not their fault.. hats off to WestJet 👍🏾
Westjet from Tampa was late to arrive in Toronto, my baggage was transfert to my flight to Montreal, although the flight to Montreal was delayed to allow all the costumers to board their flight to Montreal on that Sunday night, Nov 20th.
It was very good. Departure and arrival was on time. Crew were nice and funny. Couldn’t ask for any better! Thank you!
Our flight with West Jet was a huge disappointment. It began with checking our bags, as we were early from being dropped off after our cruise, we got into the West Jet queue to drop our bags early. We waited for an hour before an employee showed up, and another hour before they announced that they were not taking bags for future flights. I can understand that, but wish they would have communicated that before we spent the additional hour in the queue. The chaos continued to our airplane where a flight attendant told my husband to move "that bag". He was quite confused and told her it wasn't ours, to which she responded, "how would I know that? If you give me that face we're going to have problems this flight." She was rude and condescending the entire trip, and we witnessed a number of interactions other travelers had with her. There was no in-seat entertainment but the app was offered. This is a fine substitute but far less than ideal. The movie choice was not great. We had flown to Florida with Delta which offered in-seat consoles and the newest movies out, so this was disappointing. Finally, we arrived to Vancouver where we found out they had left 2 connecting flights of luggage behind, ours included. As Vancouver is not our home, we had to fight with the WestJet employee to have our bags shipped to our home since, "Vancouver is your final destination." All in all, we have decided that we won't fly WestJet anymore.
Reached on time
they lost our luggage
I would have liked to have my luggage dropped before embarking on the plane. There was not enough room to put baggage. Other airlines (with similar options, i.e. route, plane type also with limited space) have a cart to collect medium and larger bags that will not fit in the overhead bins. That is really my only complaint. Everything else was good and I got what I expected.
I like that the flight was on time (or less than 15 mins off). I liked that I got what I paid for (a flight from LAX to YVR). I liked that it was a safe flight. I liked that I could trust the brand (WestJet), and there were no surprises. I like that I ended up with exactly what I wanted, at a reasonable price. I felt like the staff could have been more helpful. The staff seemed annoyed by the passengers. I would have liked to feel less crammed into my section of the plane. I would have liked the process of embarking and disembarking to be more efficient; the process felt chaotic.
Toronto airport. WestJet is late again. Boarding too slow.Entertainment on the plane did not work. It is about time westjet to change something.
Well the flight and the crew were great, however a poor grade for making us stand and wait for luggage, then find out that my luggage was not on the plane, OMG! then the customs kicks you out of the baggage secure area and you have to fend for yourself to get information because WestJet does not have a Customer service help are to assist you, have to go wait in line at the check in area, then you can get some help, after waisting over an hour found out that bag was indeed not on plane and that we would be notified as to when/how we would be able to get bag. Need better customer relations, sure hope they will deliver bag to my house today??
Flight was late, Seats were crowded & uncomfortable, disembarked on the tarmac at the furthest point of the airport.
Well the space between chairs made it a bit uncomfortable. The ride was excellent felt as if I was in a bus. And from the pilot to the staff of the flight was excellent. Loved it overall
Fast and efficient crew got their water and snack service out quickly. We arrived 15 min early and so the ground crew was not ready when we arrived. The flight crew kept us informed which was appreciated.
I will Fly West Jet all the time.
I will fly West Jet on my next trip.
It was easy to check in, to board, and in time to take off and landing.
10 am flight cancelled at 3:15 am via email. If I hadn’t checked email and had depended on SMS or voice mail (message at 7:15 am) we would have spent the day traveling to Toronto just to have to deal with sold out hotels. Called west jet re re-booking and they said there were no flights to our destination until 6:45 a.m. the next day. This was not true as there were multiple seats (a friend checked the westjet load) that would have routed us home with a stop at one other airport. We each received a $15 dollar voucher to cover food for lunch, supper, and breakfast over the delayed period. Hotels were sold out in the region (luckily we got a room). We spent 32 for one shared dinner in this expensive city.
Flight was cancelled, then rebooked for 10 hours later, but I wouldn’t reach my destination (which was only about 400km away from my origin), until 14 hours later. Was able to call westjet for them to put me on an earlier (non-direct flight) with a connection in Vancouver. Along the way, my bag was lost and has yet to arrive.
Delayed 1,5 hours
Nothing everything was prefect
In flight announcements from captain were inaudible
Nearly 5 hours delay without a clear explanation. Spent hours in the plane on both ends (YYC and LAX) - again without explanations. Crews making announcement that they know no more than what passengers knew - which was nothing. Some sort of computer problem was mentioned. Only a single poor soul was working at the gate. Delay made a mess of my schedule in Los Angeles - was to attend a dinner appointment but did not get into my hotel until almost 11pm. Upset.
Seats were good - I especially appreciated being able to charge my phone while traveling. Flight attendant Grace was extremely friendly and attentive making my experience a great one.
On board WestJet flights, cabin baggage should not exceed 53x38x23cm. If your hand luggage is bigger, the WestJet assistance team will most likely ask you to pay extra for checked luggage.
