2.0 Poor
Pros:Nothing at all. Boarding time changed 3times. Nothing nothing nothing good.
Cons:Boarding time changed 3 times. 2 hours later than original schedule. Terrible pilot went around city for no reason. Terrified and poor landing skill. I've never had experience like this. Now i only have 3 hours sleep before work.
2.0 Poor
Cons:Faulty weather radar on a stormy evening cancelled our WestJet PREMIUM ECONOMY flight. After deplaning and waiting for all passengers without checked bags to be rebooked, we eventually were on our way by car from LGA to JFK airport to meet a British Airways ECONOMY flight with only minutes to spare
4.0 Mediocre
Pros:I made it sure my destination safely.
Cons:When I drove up Toronto’s Pearson Airport, I expected the usual check-in process upon entry for my flight from Toronto to Warsaw (with connecting flights in Halifax and Frankfurt). However, my first surprise, despite me asking ahead of time, was that my small check-in bag would could $100 CDN instead of the $25.00 I was quoted. Despite the WestJest/Condor representatives best effort, I was told that I would, unfortunately, have to pay for the baggage despite the quote I was given. I paid the fee, was given tracking numbers, and asked for my boarding passes. I found it odd that my final flight from Frankfurt to Warsaw did not print out. I asked if this would be a problem for me and my bags arriving on timed, and I was told it would not be, as it is sometimes the case that passengers have to print out boarding passes at the next stop. I flew to Halifax and asked for a boarding pass from Frankfut to Warsaw (which I was told was still a Condor plane), and it was printed for me. Upon arriving in Frankfurt and waiting patiently, something inside caused me to ask about the status of my bags. To my utter shock, and the genuine honesty of my Condor representative in Germany, I was told that my next flight would actually be LOT (Polish Airlines) flight, and that my bags needed to be picked up from baggage claim and checked into my LOT flight. With less than 10 minutes left before boarding and the suggestion of an honest Condor official I was told not to bother trying to go to baggage claim and fill out a missing/delayed baggage claim at LOTs station in Warsaw Chopin Airport. At no point, despite my asking, was I ever informed about having to re-check bags I paid $100.00 to check-in. Moreover, at no point was I told that, on my flights from Toronto to Frankfurt, that everything from simple entertainment to food would cost significantly high cost (in Euros) to purchase. Be aware of these issues fellow travelers, and make sure you pay for food and entertainment (ahead of time) and make sure ALL your bags will be on WestJet/Condor planes or they will NOT be transferred!
0.0 Poor
Pros:I did not make it on the flight as the time was given was 5:35 and the flight left at 4:00.
Cons:I was not given correct information and being a very novice traveller did not check the information.
3.0 Poor
Pros:At least they flown us back home..
Cons:Our flight to Toronto delayed by almost 3 hours and this was updated only 20 minutes before boarding, staff at checkin counter giving senseless excuses for the delay like crew members yet to come, weighing and balancing the baggage for fuel upload and even funny thing that captain just started his paper work for departure ( this is 2 hours after scheduled departure ). Did not offer any food coupons or any kind of compensation to anybody which created lot of inconvenience for travelers with young children..show some empathy Westjetters and operate like a professional carrier not like a curb side cab driver..
8.0 Very Good
Pros:Staff was very nice as always, very full flight, so it was feeling a little cramped. Ran out of pretzels, which I believe is the one free snack item that everyone considers edible, and therefore were left with other, not so tasty items. Plane was very clean, boarding was reasonable, albeit delayed, but we landed on time in YYC.
4.0 Mediocre
Pros:I expected free entertainment for a 10 hour flight (only if you had your own iPad). Although I thought they offered good movie options, it was very limited, so not sure everyone would agree.
Cons:On a 10+ hour flight, I expected free meals, so I didn't eat before the flight. I was charged $9 for an extremely small shepherd's pie (bc they didn't have the other 2 meals that I asked for first). Guests were only offered coffee, tea or water and had to pay extra for soda, juice, etc. The flight attendants seemed annoyed any time someone turned on the light to request their attention, yet they did not scan the aisles often at all. I also have had free headphones on most flights I've ever taken, yet was charged $3.50 for horrible headphones (they had $10 and $30 options as well but I wasn't about to spend that). On my 9 hour flight to Europe on different airline, I received 2 free meals, snack, free wine and was offered soda/juice/etc and free headphones.
6.0 Okay
Pros:The boarding gate person from Westjet was excellent in the way he dealt with my missed flight..........kudos to him
Cons:The security staff were not prepared to deal with the sudden increase in volume of passengers. Since there were around 300 people ahead of me I knew I was probably not going to make my flight. I felt as though I wanted to ask everyone there if they minded me going to the front of the line as I was probably going to miss the flight, but felt too intimidated. Of course my onboard bag was flagged for further inspection so when I asked the security agent that was being absolutely riduculas with the inspectioin of the mans belongings ahead of me if she could take a look at mine as I was probably going to miss my flight she just gave me this evil look and said im already looking at this mans things. (she didnt need to state the obvious but maybe a little common sense and tact in helping to resolve customers problems would go a lot further than projecting her power trip. Not impressed at all.
10.0 Wonderful
Pros:I ended up being at YV a lot earlier than originally planned, and was able to switch to an earlier flight for less than $80, which was a lot nicer than having to buy a while new ticket for over $300, which would have been my other option.
7.3 Good
Pros:The flight was on time, there was enough room for carryons in the overhead bins
Cons:I did not have any food or use the entertainment options so that’s why I scored them low as I don’t know how good they were.

Overview of WestJet

WestJet is a low-cost carrier that strives to deliver affordable travel both throughout Canada and across the world. It flies to more than 25 countries, which are spread across North America, Central America, Europe and the Caribbean. Budget-conscious vacationers make up a significant section of the customer base, with services to the Caribbean and southern American states available.

The primary base of the airline is in Toronto, with the hub responsible for more daily departures than any other location. It also serves as the most common link to the United Kingdom and Europe. WestJet also operates out of hubs in Calgary and Vancouver.

WestJet Encore, WestJet Link and Swoop are subsidiaries of the larger carrier. The Encore airline focuses on regional services, while Link aims to connect smaller Canadian cities with primary airports. Swoop is an ultra-low-cost airline that is based in Hamilton.

While they are not part of a specific airline alliance, a joint venture partnership is in place with Delta Air Lines as well as numerous codeshare agreements. The association with Delta Air Lines includes the sharing of hubs, meaning WestJet has smoother access to cities such as Atlanta, Boston, and Seattle in the United States. Major airlines with which codeshare agreements are maintained include Emirates, Cathay Pacific, China Airlines, and Qantas.

An exclusively Boeing fleet of aircraft is operated, which consists almost entirely of 737 planes. Models such as the 737-700, 737-800, and 737 MAX 8 are regularly flown. These aircraft replaced earlier versions of the 737 family, with fuel efficiency and environmental impact the driving factors.
