Pros: everything you can think of or need was provided. Luis was an angel that gave very prompt replies via whatsup communication. he kept in touch with me before and during our stay. he was friendly, spoke fluent english and very charming. the room had two separate sleeping areas and came with a balcony, bathroom, living area, and bedroom. it was very comfortable and easy walk to all the fun places to eat pintxos and museums. loved that there was an elevator to facilitate carrying our luggage. we will stay again.
Cons: parking the car to dispose our luggage was a bit of a pain but Luis tried his best by going to the parking nearby at 17 euros per day.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very comfy, great staff and excellent location.
Cons: There is no swimming pool, there is a tiny pool where you can dip your feet in but it's too small to swim in, the roof top terrace was fab otherwise.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The best aspects of the hotel were (a) the staff, (b) the location, and (c) the high quality of the facilities.
Cons: We could have been informed during check in that we could have saved five euros each if we reserved in advance. The hotel could provide a coffee service on the ground floor so customers don't have to choose between 27 euros and wandering the old city searching for an open Café. Finally, despite the lovely view, the rooftop bar has an absurdly limited - and expensive - drinks and food menu.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is perfect, the room was large, extremely comfortable and beautifully decorated as was the entire hotel. The service was wonderful and the staff was polite, professional and quick to address any request. The rooftop is spectacular with the best views in town! Steps away from the best pintxos and shopping!

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful room. Fantastic view.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Location, location.. Close to the old town, shopping, restaurants...you could not ask for a better location..
Cons: Maybe directions for those driving...it is very difficult to find ...maybe they need a clearer sign at the bottom of the street..

Cons: Pillows too hard, otherwise, lovely!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was perfect !! Staff amazing and attentive. Very clean and comfortable! We love a comfortable bed and nice lines and towels , and it had it all . Breakfast was excellent!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything great accommodation and superb location. Wonderful staff.
Cons: Zero
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very good location right on the edge of Old Town. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are comfortable.
Cons: We would have liked a choice of pillows as we did not find the ones in our room very comfortable. We were given a rate of 17.50 euro a day for parking when we booked only to find out at the hotel that rate not longer applied and the current rate was 33.00 euro. The hotel is difficult to find if you have a vehicle as it requires you to enter via a no entry paved area.

Pros: The hotel is in a beautifully renovated mansion. The common areas were tastefully done and comfortable. Our room was good size, and nicely appointed. The breakfast was limited, but excellent.

Cons: none
9.0 Excellent
Pros: I stayed at Villa Soro for 4 nights. The main building is elegant with a very warm atmosphere. I had a corner room on the first floor of the newer building which had it owns semi-private outdoor space. Both were nice. The bedroom and bathroom were of good size and quite utilitarian. The newer house has no street noise, though the area is sufficiently quiet that I would be surprised if the original house is affected by traffic noise. The staff is very polite and helpful. I chose to stay at the Villa as I thought I might find interesting people with whom to talk. Breakfast seemed like an obvious time but the bar is actually pretty lively at night. My wish was fulfilled. Members of The Morgan Motor Club were there with their glorious convertibles (British racing green, of course) and there were 2 architects from Stockholm on their way to Bilbao.
Cons: My bathroom was not adequately cleaned. I suppose this was due to the maid believing that Americans only take showers. However, there were enough clues that I take baths. The tub wasn't cleaned (or not to my standards) and neither q-tips nor hand soap were replaced in a timely matter.. I found there was too much noise transmitted from the room or rooms above which may have been just the luck of the draw in whose overhead. Note that this really is a residential area and you will have a good 30 minute walk to the bus station or even most restaurants.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Public rooms really elegant. Staff so welcoming and helpful. Breakfast buffet splendid. Cosy bar with short but delicious tapas style menu in the evening. Location wonderfully peaceful but only 20 minutes walk or promptly ordered taxi from the lively 'old town'
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely property very elegant. Was a bit of a stroll to the action. But you need to walk of the food right.

Pros: Loved everything about Akelarre. The staff were so welcoming and helpful. The views and architecture of the building are breathtaking. The rooms are so beautifully designed and furnished and very spacious. The beds are very comfortable and the showers are wonderful. The communal areas are very quiet and impressive artworks are dotted around. The wellness area is also stunning and not too busy. Had an excellent facial with a great therapist. One of my favourite places that I have ever stayed.

Pros: Quiet
Cons: They quoted a price and did not keep it

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful, serene, best breakfast in the world
Cons: No outdoor pool/lounge chairs
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The intimacy (only 22 rooms), spectacular view of the ocean, 100% luxury.
Cons: Akelarre Restaurant was closed while we were there, not great restaurants close by.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Silence and Staff.
Cons: Too many people from outside the hotel in the terrace.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: An extremely thoughtful renovation, meaning we were never disturbed or inconvenienced by things which plague even the best hotels (noise from rooms/guests, lack of sockets, retrieving the car, unreliable WiFi, etc.). Staff were excellent and everything was just so!
Cons: In room dining is unimaginative compared to the quality of the other restaurants at the property.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing location in Old Town; staff was super friendly and helpful with where to find the best pintxos. Room was clean, comfortable, and spacious. Would definitely stay here again!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Quiet hotel environment. location and ease of walking to all points of interest is excellent. Very friendly, discreet and helpful staff. Clean, good quality bedding & linens. FOC water and beverages.
Cons: Position of the air conditioners, Bathroom door is located in the main bedroom, making the usage of the WC awkward when occupants of that room are in The view from the window is excellent but somehow spoilt with the city dustbins located in the square. Despite, visitors and locals alike, keeping the area clean and tidy, It remains an "eye sore".
6.3 Good
Pros: Location. ZWas close to pOld Town
Cons: Location was noisy at night. Window opened to a main thoroughfare.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The apartment was large with a lounge sitting room, and although in the old town it overlooked a quiet square so was not noisy. Handy location to everything.
Cons: Would have preferred a bathroom off the living area instead of an en-suite in the bedroom, but that was a pretty minor problem.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable bed and surprisingly spacious room. Very quiet despite excellent central location in Old Town. Staff very helpful and swift to reply to emails before stay. Great coffee too!
Cons: Nothing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, plenty of space, very friendly and helpful staff
Cons: Pillows
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Pension Bule was fantastic. My friend an I initially booked a double room and had another friend suddenly join the trip, so the staff was super helpful in helping us change our booking to a triple room. Beds were quite comfortable and the shower was awesome. Amazing water pressure and temperature. Like, I've had better showers there than in some 5* hotels. The location can't be beat. We were approximately 2-5 min away from all of the most recommended Pinxto bars, right next to the main street so that taxis can drop you off since the whole old town is pedestrian only, and about 5-7 min from La Concha beach and the pier. Gros and its surf friendly beach was also less than 10 minutes away. Since we came from Bilbao, we arrived by bus and had a quick 12-15 min walk to the place. We only stayed for 3 days, so that's all we managed to truly explore. The staff, as I mentioned above, was super friendly and cooperative. In addition to a ton of great tips and recommendations, we could burrow plush beach towels and received a little welcome gift. This was also perhaps the first place were I've ever been told that all drinks in the mini-bar were included. Honestly, in terms of value for money and quality, I was super impressed. Definitely would stay there (or would be interested in checking out one of their other two properties) again.
8.8 Excellent
Cons: The hotel was great but in the plaza where it is located there were some homeless people living that made the area feel unsecure. It seems that one of the days the police was called and they left for a night, but returned next day. That night one of them approached my husband in a threatening way, asking him if he was the person that called the police!! Obviously it was very uncomfortable for us the rest of the days we were there and scary. I think the hostal should talk to the police to give a round every day and prevent these people to stay in the plaza for consecutive days, because it made the area feel unsafe...
10.0 Excellent
Cons: No toilet in the common area, and although location is excellent, it’s quite noisy outside due to the bars and restaurants.

Cons: Nothing to dislike.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff and location are both amazing. Our check-in experience was delightful, getting a recommended pintxos map and detailed instructions about the bus to Old Town. The view from our balcony and the one in the dining room is amazing. Breakfast was simple but a good value. There was no safe in the room, but there was a lockable wardrobe, which worked fine.
Cons: The bed could have been more comfortable and the decor was a little strange.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We chose this property because we were in a rental car and concerned about parking in the city. It is on a hill on the outskirts of town, but with a bus stop in front of the hotel, we were in the old town with a quick 20 minute bus ride. The ocean view from the deck is stunning! The hotel staff was excellent, from the front desk to the maids and wait staff. Everyone was friendly and very helpful. The room and bathroom were impeccably clean as was the breakfast area and grounds. We had breakfast both mornings and the food was fresh and plentiful and coffee and teas were available at any time. The accommodations made our short visit to San Sebastián all the more enjoyable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is just charming! The welcome was the best ever, the host was really knowledgable and was able to answer all our questions on the spot. The hotel has a bus stop out front with direct access to the city. The view from the hotel was superb. With the information given by the staff, you can get to the city readily but having a car is definitely was helpful to drive around to nearby sites.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Nice room, great staff, good location
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was perfect for jumping into both the old town and the newer town. The staff were very helpful, parking was available a short distance away and the staff helped us navigate through the entry, exit, and payment to the parking lot. We had some great tips on food and restaurant locations when we arrived. Our room was cleaned every day with free bottled water, which is something you don't get everywhere. There was no coffee in the room but a cute coffee bar right next door which was convenient. We loved our stay in San Sebastian, Legapzi made it easy and comfortable for the 4 days. We would definitely stay here again.
Cons: Street traffic noise was a bit much and our room was located right on the main street underneath the garbage and recycling containers for the block..so a bit noisy throughout the night. But we loved the big french door windows in both the bedroom and the bathroom, the balcony off the main room, and the light so the trade off was worth it for us.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Small rooms but very cute and very clean and modern. The location could not be better but be warned that it can be hard to find. Parking is extra and in an underground garage a few blocks away, but that is understandable given the location. The staff could not be nicer! We were very pleased.
7.0 Good
Pros: Fab location. Nice short walk to old town for pintxos (and the food is why we're all really here, right?), the beach, shopping nearby. Coffee shop downstairs is handy. The staff is kind and friendly. The room was spacious. A nice place to rest after exploring beautiful San Sebastian.
Cons: Quite expensive for a basic room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This tiny hotel is located right on the edge of the old part of the city. The room was efficient, very clean and modern. Very nice bathroom as well. It was the nicest room of our trip and I would definitely return and recommend it to friends.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel was in a great location right near the Old Town area of San Sebastian. It was less than 5 minutes walk to La Concha beach. The room was a compact size but we didn't feel crowded, and the bathroom was very spacious. Downstairs there were a few cafes where you could get breakfast and coffee, one with a good amount of outdoor seating.

Overview Reviews
A stay at Pensión Aldamar places you in the heart of San Sebastian, within a 10-minute walk of Concha Beach and Monte Urgull. Featured amenities include multilingual staff, luggage storage, and an elevator. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The Pension Aldamar is located in a great part of town, kind of on the side/outskirt of Old Town. Very walkable to all things San Sebastian! When we arrived at the hotel, a friend we were traveling with became violently ill in the elevator. Roberto at the front desk could not have been more gracious. He expeditiously cleaned up the mess and got my friend situated quickly in her room so that she could rest. For this excellent customer service I would return. Additionally, the location, cleanliness and value of the room are also great! (Additional plus, the Pinxtos bar downstairs on the corner serves some of the best croquettas and foie gras in the city. Definitely try!)
Cons: The only drawback to this property is the room size. Request room #10 for a corner view of bustling street below and a king-size bed, with a slightly larger bathroom. The other rooms are quite tight with rolling luggage and two people. Bed was OK. AC was welcome!

Cons: If I was going again I'd book a balcony room as the room had no natural day light.

Pros: All great. Free water and sodas in the mini bar a lovely touch. Loved the slower gel.
Cons: A bit musty smelling on the old staircase. You did ask! As you mention lighting, it could have been a little less bright by the bed. A bit of a shock in the morning!

Pros: Absolutely nothing
Cons: Very disappointing very small and way over priced ! We could hear every move upstairs! Sleepless nights !
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The baby bed was ready upon arrival. Nice coffee/tea machine well stocked. Parking discount also nice!
Cons: Elevator is very small to fit a baby stroller. No curbside parking to drop-off luggage.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The customer service of the reception gentleman was outstanding. He greeted us with a smile, asked if it was our first time to San Sebastián. Gave us a map and a list of places to eat. Very helpful, friendly and genuine. Accomodation was very clean, although the rooms were very small, we had everything we needed. Great location.
Cons: Ion
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beds very comfortable. Very helpful staff. Explained in detail how to find your way around San Sebastian and recommend good places to try for pintxos. Will definitely return to pension San Martin
6.3 Good
Pros: The location is ideal and probably could not be better. The staff is very polite and helpful.
Cons: The rooms was comfy but over too small for a couple, we could barely fit ourselves and our luggages. For that price and for being Spain I would normally expect way more space..
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable and good location
Cons: Not much room for a suitcase.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great location, clean rooms, friendly and helpful reception staff, super comfortable and large beds. Very quiet. Would recommend. Room size was perfect.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, comfortable bed, friendly staff, clean
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property is very well located to the old quarter and the shopping district. It is about a 10–15 minute walk to either of the 2 beaches. The staff was very helpful and spoke good English. They have 24 hour check-in.
Cons: The AC unit was a bit noisy.
7.5 Good
Pros: Great location. Clean and comfortable room. Friendly staff. Coffee making facility was a highlight!
Cons: No window in the room was a bit disorientating. The walls are thin and the doors are loud so you can hear the locking of your neighbours doors at all hours. The cleaning cupboard was near our room so they became our alarm clock at 730am

Pros: The location and the clean facilities.
Cons: Nothing it was great.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything! The hotel is conveniently located in old town and right on the plaza however wasn’t loud at all! Jonathon was fabulous - he contacted us upon arrival as our flight was delayed and we didn’t arrive until late, he met us at the hotel and allowed us to check in and get settled. Rooms were large and bathrooms always available and very clean! Would stay again on my next trip to San Sebastián!
Cons: N/A
9.2 Excellent
Pros: If you like the nightlife, this is it. In the middle of everything, super nice.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Everything except the mattress. That you had an elevator, I loved the location and the person that greeted us. Very clean and amenities were wonderful.
7.5 Good
Cons: Our room was overlooking the street and it was very noisy for the whole night, we were not able to sleep.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff and a location truly in the heart of old town......... a very positive experience overall. Was really happy with every aspect of it.
Cons: This is completely personal preference, but in the heigh of tourist season on the weekends be aware that you are truly in the thick of the action and people will be loud until the wee hours of the morning. That may be absolutely fine with you.... you may be the loudest one of all, of course! But it's worth knowing that going in. It's in the center of the party.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location; even if the toilet is shared the trouble is minimal since it is cleaned very often.
Cons: Unfortunately the manager had a personal issue and could not let us in at the normal check-in time. He was very kind and apologetic afterwards, but the situation could have been handled better.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: This Pensión was in the heart of San Sebastián and the shared bathrooms were clean and new
Cons: The room was quite small and any street noise could be easily heard!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Jonathan was very friendly and helpful. The room was super clean and the bed was very comfortable. The windows and shutters are substantial, so although there was noise at night (Thursday through to Saturday) I didn't find it too much of a problem as most of it was shut out once the windows and shutters were closed. However, I recommend taking earplugs just in case. If it's a hot evening you may want to go to sleep with the windows open.
Cons: It may be a good idea to put down carpet in the hall that links all the rooms. You can hear other guests moving around when they're coming in through the front door or going to the bathrooms. I also think that perhaps parents with babies shouldn't be allowed to stay there. The walls aren't that thick, so when there's a baby crying at night it's disruptive for the other guests.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location in the center of casco viejo. The room is above normal hostel quality which was a positive surprise. Nice and cheap breakfast places around.
Cons: Nothing
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location in the heart of town. It’s quite loud because of this, but nothing some earplugs can’t fix. Worth it though, with both nearby beaches a ten minute walk away. The owner was very helpful; the one time we needed assistance he responded immediately. The shared bathrooms were really clean.
Cons: It was very warm in the room. There was a fan but no air conditioning, and opening the windows would let the noise from the street in.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hostess was very friendly & helpful.
Cons: Could be noisy but Windows kept out most of the noise

10.0 Excellent
Pros: First class hotel and service a little outside the main town(30 mins walk) but could not fault the hotel really
Cons: Breakfast was good -but I thought expensive at over 20 euros Also 22 Euros to park car overnight -but very secure So those add ons were not cheap-but this is a nice hotel and i would certainly stay there(and the wonderful City of San Sebastian) again
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was very good
Cons: It was not including breakfast
6.5 Good
Pros: We hired bicycles and they were great value at 15 euro for morning
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice and clean hotel with very helpful staff. A bit far from old city area.
Cons: Rooms a bit on the small side.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very good. NH Standard with all you need. Spacious rooms, coffee machine, water kettle, big wardrobes. Nice design, comfortable beds. 10 min walk to the beach, frequent busses into the old town from a very close stop. The windows can be opened!
Cons: The wooden floor had an ugly water damage in front of the bathroom, obviously for longer (room 430). I would expect that this gets fixed in this category. The duvet and its cover were stuffed under the heavy mattress to an extent I never experienced anywhere else. By trying to get it out, the entire bed was inevitably turned into a whole mess.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great location
Cons: Thought breakfast was pricey, even after a discount
7.1 Good
Pros: The staff were great! Good restaurant and the rooms were comfortable.
Cons: Nothing in particular.

Pros: The staff went above and beyond to assist us with secure storage for our bikes.
Cons: NA
10.0 Excellent
Pros: On our arrival the doorman Juan Antonio made a real extra effort to get our luggage, and get us parked as the access to parking was not easy to see. He was very attentive and helpful, got us all set up in hurry. An easy walk to the Promenade and beach area. Loved that the stairways are right in the lobby rather than a dingy stairwell, so you can use the stairs. Breakfast was great- loved that you could have eggs done anyway you liked- mmm omelettes. A wonderful stay

Pros: Great location. Very convenient bus travel into the city. The apartment was quiet, spacious, very clean & comfortable! The breakfast was much more than we could eat! Fabulous view as well!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: This is a wonderful property and a peach of a place to stay.  Smart apartment with a great terrace  to watch the sunset.  As others have reported access to San Sebastian (what a terrific, chic place!) is really easy - and quick (12 minutes) -  by bus. Miriam, our host, was a delightful person who could not have been more helpful or friendly, during our 5 night stay - a credit to Irenaz Resort.
Cons: There was nothing that I would want to report.
9.6 Excellent

Pros: Quiet location on hillside with nice views of countryside, easy access from motorway - on bus route to get into centre of San Sebastian and taxi back reasonably about 10 euros, Friendly very helpful staff at check-in re room, location and things to do, bus etc, use of kitchen and glasses, room very spacious, comfortable bed, large fridge and modern bathroom (which was much appreciated as we had been on campsite for previous 11 days and had to use communal facilities!!). Terrace with awning and table and chairs/sun loungers. We would definitely recommend and will be back!!
Cons: We had only booked for 2 nights - could have stayed longer!

Cons: Number of steps down to the sea front
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Views from the balcony were incredible. Very unique apartments. Very helpful staff and awesome breakfast that you could take in bed or on the beautiful terrace.
Cons: Shared bathroom made things a little tricky but we managed and I would just stay in a room with a private bathroom if I visit again in the future.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing location. Fantastic views overlooking the beach and the city. Really friendly staff and a delicious complimentary breakfast.
Cons: Nothing
7.0 Good
Cons: The bathroom, specifically the shower
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Far Out Inn didn’t look like much from the street, but once you entered the property and saw the view of the beach it was worth every penny. We had a balcony that was amazing to look at while eating the included daily breakfast that was delivered to your room. You were a mere 15 minute walk to all of the pintxos bars of the city as well as an amazing hike. Definitely recommend the Pintxos tour put on by the staff. Will most definitely return again and again!
Cons: The shared bathroom is slightly inconvenient, but overall was a very well designed and updated facility.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and helpful staff, good location just outside of Old Town near the main beach. Great water pressure in the shower! Air conditioning was a plus!
Cons: Noisy - balcony was over the main road so we had to sleep with all the windows and shutters closed. No 24 hour reception which is strange for the price and for a hotel - we needed to print some bus tickets for a bus the following morning and had to pay a restaurant to do it! Beds had some kind of plastic covering over the mattress so they were very squeaky every time you moved.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was really nice and helpful! The location is great, only few minutes walking from a beach and the old Town district.

Pros: Good location, clean; convenient parking
Cons: I know San Sebastián well; it was already my second visit this month and know what to expect and where Arrived air con did not work but had to find that out for myself, no mention on check in or consideration on bill stayed Saturday night; windows not double glazed so did not shut out the loudness and shouts of the area which went on till 2.30-3 pm not usually an issue With no air con and closed windows to keep noise out it led to an uncomfortable sleepless night Tried to pay Amex but got told they get charged 30% which I know is not correct They took Amex on arrival for security however

Pros: First rate nearly five star hotel in perfect location. With a staff that did everything well and with a smilec
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The bar over looking the bay andValet parking.
Cons: Price of drinks in the bar !
9.2 Excellent
Pros: It has a perfect location right on the beach. It is an elegant old world hotel. The staff were outstandingly helpful. Lovely view even though we thought we were getting only a city view.
Cons: The room appointments could have been better. The safe was broken. The shower didn't get hot enough. There wasn't enough light. Could have used another glass. Could have used more towels. Room turndown was at an inconvenient time so it wasn't done.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: It is a very nice old-fashion hotel with a history and very different flavor than many other hotels. Decor is a beginning of 20th century combined with modern facilities. The hotel is right on the beautiful swimmable beach. We extended our stay beyond original reservation through booking.com and staff was very accommodating.
Cons: breakfast buffet was rather rudimental
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Sea view from the 5th floor. Location in relation to the centre of San Sebastián. Reception staff very helpful.
Cons: Some of the staff (bar) were a little stand-offish.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Treated extremely well. Made to feel very dpecial
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is the perfect location for San Sebastian. In the City Centre and also next to the Beach.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location and quality superb
Cons: Didn’t know about construction outside our patio and couldn’t use it. No consideration by staff. We thought we were getting king bed but 2 twins pushed together. Not very romantic. Wait staff slow with service.
7.5 Good
Pros: The breakfast buffet was great and had lots of variety.
Cons: We got a “city view” room and the street across from us had construction while we were there so we woke up early every morning to construction sounds. Highly unpleasant. The hotel did not offer free water in the room like all the other hotels we stayed at for the same price. The decor is a bit outdated and furniture in the room needs to be nicer for the price of the hotel.
7.5 Good
Pros: I
Cons: 1. I was very surprised the breakfast was not included in the price quoted. 2. I was also very dissapointed that the room did not come with free bottles of water. 3. Also I was very dissapointed at the first room offered to us with city views was small and we had to pay an extra €100 per night over that quoted to get a decent size room with sea views. 4.The overall cost per night including breakfast worked out at €483.66 for a standard double room all be it with sea views.

Pros: Wonderful in every way. The best location on the beach that was walkable to the best areas. Large room with great light and views. Nice restaurant.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff couldn’t be more helpful , we had a wonderful trip and will definitely return
9.2 Excellent
Pros: I chose this location for it's proximity to La Concha Beach and based on other reviews. I won't lie, it is pricey, but it was a well worth it splurge! I requested a beach view and it was totally unbeatable. It was postcard perfect. The location was right on the "boardwalk" type of separation from the beach. Located steps away from restaurants on the beach as well as the Perla Spa. There is a fairly good restaurant in the hotel that has a reasonable breakfast buffet and great coffee. The hotel itself was quaint and charming. The elevator was old school and fun. The staff were friendly and informative. The rooms, while small, were updated and very clean. The balconies offered spectacular views and modern balcony doors that crack open in a safe way so you can fall asleep to the sound of the waves. Only about a 10 minute walk from the Old Town where the most amazing food scene awaits you. Go in another direction and you had great shopping and sight seeing. Would definitely stay here again!
Cons: The rooms were a little bit tight, but worth it for the view! Everything else was great.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Best option in all of Handaye overlooking the beach. Very new and clean. The only hotel with a terrace and great views. The beach had a 2 mile boardwalk and apparently the largest sand beach in all of the Basque coast.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location o the seaways lovely. Hotel restaurant is closed more than it is open. The building is very old and while this is somewhat charming, the slanted staircase is a safety hazard and the floors in the room are also slanted. Other elevator is difficult to use and there are no bell persons to assist. For the price I would expect more.
7.9 Good
Pros: Excellent location right on the beach.
Cons: Our room was small and quite dated with the decor and furniture. We could hear noise from the loft every time it was used.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice location and clean room.
Cons: Not very sound proof roof room.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location and price!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great location right on the beach with a amazing view. DO PAY THE EXTRA TO GET A BEACH VIEW. Staff was very friendly, helpful, and had some good ideals of what to see in town. Breakfast was good and worth the money. Room was large, bath room nice. Board walk right out the back door. Lots of restaurants and shops near by.
Cons: No air conditioning. Did cool down at night, but We slept with the balcony door open. If you drive there, Parking a car in the garage is very very tight.
5.4 Okay
Pros: Employees attention, service and help disposition.
Cons: Temperature controls and room layouts. So, so.

Overview Reviews
The Barceló Costa Vasca is an urban hotel with a wellness centre in San Sebastián, located just 550 metres from Ondarreta beach and Eduardo Chillida’s famous ‘Peine del Viento’ sculpture, and links with the city centre via the marvellous La Concha beach promenade.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Room facilities cleanliness
Cons: Very expensive and not good value for money. Euro 21 each per day for buffet breakfast was a joke. More than double what we paid in other places on our trip. The offer was not as good as previous years. They wanted to charge 20 euro a day to park the car but eventually settled for 10 euro. Presented with a cold undercooked burger one night which was sent back. It had a rubbery fried egg on it obviously a breakfast left over. Staff did not say sorry or seen concerned. Will not return very disappointed.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the local vibe in the area! Close to buses to get in to old town etc. 8 min walk to the beach
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable room within walking distance down to the beach area back up very steep hill.
Cons: Shower poor pressure in bedroom signs of a water leak from bathroom above.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Hallelujah! A hotel that has a kettle! And a coffee pod machine in the room. Tea/coffee at last to wind down with. Breakfast was included and very good. Lots to of generous options to choose from. Bed and pillows really comfy! Pontoons (with slides) on both beaches!
Cons: Closer to action would have been better but only a 10 min taxi for 8 euros to Old Town.
8.5 Excellent
Pros: Buffet breakfast was excellent quality and choice. Bathrooms had al toiletries and hair dryer Iron & Ironing board in the room
Cons: Just a little out of the city, but there is a bus stop outside the hotel to get into the centre, also it is a nice walk along the promenade for those who enjoy it
6.3 Good
Pros: The beds were very comfortable
Cons: Every morning we were woken by house keeping or guests who were on touring holidays. The shower flow was either very hot or cold, cosmetic not replenished
5.4 Okay
Pros: I asked for a double bed because my 3 year old still sleeps with us and they gave us a suite with three twin beds two of them pushed together to simulate a double bed. Very uncomfortable and therefore we didn’t rest properly. Also we were given the rooms directly off the elevator which proved to be very noisy luckily we were only there one night and had to wake up early.
7.1 Good
Pros: Great showers, beds were super comfortable. Lovely complimentary bottle of water in the room, coffee matching, and kettle which was great.
Cons: At the top of a rather steep hill which was challenging for my parents. Also, they charged me for the wrong booking, and there was a bit of confusion when checking out. A lot of staff standing around chatting, with only one lady doing all the work, which she should be commended for, she was really good, the others not so much.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Absolutely Nothing Breakfast over priced. We had our breakfast the little cafe at the hotel w very little variety of food offer.
Cons: Breakfast over priced. We had our breakfast the little cafe at the hotel w very little variety of food offer. Stuff very unfriendly. There was big construction next to the hotel and created a lot of noise from early morning No robs and sleepers and when we called we were tolled they charge for it but will do exception for us Pool was closed and spa, sauna and steam and a small pool like was for $12.00 for an hour and $18 1 1/2 hrs fee. I was not informed at the time booking and that was not your site. The spa that was sold me on the hotel chose. Also, location miss informed on your side. It is a almost 30 min walk to city center. We asked for a higher floor and with a smirk were told that our request rooms are not on higher floor. i asked for a room with shower only, due bad hip, and again with a smirk had a negative answer. We had very bad experiences, I had problem getting in to the bathtub for shower and leave day earlier and lost the a day of prepay ed stay. Very unhappy.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Extremely comfortable.
Cons: Nothing everything was as I expected.
6.3 Good
Pros: It was just ordinary
Cons: No bath no bidet just a good shower

Cons: Poor facilities for a 4* hotel especially for the price
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Counter services and beach view from room.
Cons: Nothing it was lovely
4.6 Okay
Pros: Good location near bay/paseo. Excellent female receptions staff.
Cons: Paid premium rate for sub standard hotel and room. Including outrageous parking fee of €24 per night effective room rate €254!Building works at entrance, indifferent male reception staff (females were excellent), exit from lift looked like a warehouse, no hotel bar, small room and tiny bathroom, good view of bay if crane had not been in the way!
7.0 Good
Pros: Good location!
Cons: Quite overpriced, including the parking (€32 for 1 night!) Some parts look a little tired (elevator etc).
9.2 Excellent
Pros: A good breakfast choice , a splendid view over an apartment block to the bay and beach , a location convenient for sightseeing in the old town and visiting restaurants .
Cons: The room was good but the lighting was very poor ; even the bright light in the bedhead could not be very well directed .
7.5 Good
Pros: Good location within walking distance of the old town and very close to the beach.
Cons: Overpriced with dated facilities. The public areas are much better but the rooms/bathrooms are in need of an upgrade.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was excellent. The receptionist Irina was very efficient, courteous and very knowledgeable. She upgraded our room to junior suite with amazing view. She also offered us breakfast. The breakfast was excellent and the staff very helpful and courteous. We had an extremely pleasant stay.
Cons: no complaints

7.9 Good
Pros: Locality exactly what we required
7.1 Good
Pros: Location and standard double.
Cons: Standard twin room was for disabled and much reduced space inside. This room was 3* at best.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel Tryp Orly was a fantastic hotel and exceeded all expectations. We booked a premium room with views, so waking up to the stunning views of the La Concha beach and the old town was spectacular, worth booking this room if you can. The staff were friendly and very helpful. There were several restaurants nearby which had lovely food, especially the one immediately next door. The hotel had a lovely, welcoming feel to it and we felt right at home. The room was spacious and the beds very comfortable. It was great to have a fridge in the room too, also coffee and tea making facilities. If I went back to San Sebastian I would definitely choose this hotel again. It was very convenient to La Concha beach, which we swam in every day between morning and evening jaunts around the town!
Cons: We had no issues with this hotel at all, we really enjoyed our stay and felt very relaxed. If I had to pick on something, it was that we only found out on the last day that we could hire beach towels from the front desk, we wished we were informed of this when we first checked in.
