Budget Inn is a 2-star hotel that is located just over 2km from Bishop Peak. It is situated in the central part of San Luis Obispo, California. And is easily accessible from major roadways and public transit.

Budget Inn boasts 27 guest rooms, all of which feature either a king or queen bed. Guests can also expect their room to have luxurious bedding, a wardrobe, workspace, microwave, private bathroom, a balcony and a large window. Pros:I liked that there was room enough in the beds for four people, And that the bathroom looked fairly newly remodeled, and I liked having the refrigerator and microwave. Free parking was great, and the flowers around the building were very pretty.
Cons:The room is for four people, and there was only one chair for the table. I’m glad the room was no smoking, but other guests were smoking feet away from their room doors, so I wasn’t comfortable opening the window for fresh air. It would be nice if there was a designated smoking area, far from the motel room windows.

Pros:It was cheap and located close to the college and downtown San Luis Obispo.
Cons:It needs some TLC, missing light bulbs, slightly torn curtain, bathtub tiling done very poorly.

Pros:It was within walking distant of downtown in a safe area with a gorgeous view of the mountains. For the price we paid I wasn't expecting much, but was very pleased to get a clean room, free wifi and breakfast in the morning! That's more than some nicer hotels I've stayed in. Highly recommend staying here if you're not looking for a luxury experience, just quiet, clean rooms.

Pros:This is literally the cheapest hotel in the area, literally. There were at least 3 other hotels within spitting distance, but this one is the least expensive. It was fine for a quick stopover in SLO but I wouldn't recommend spending your vacation here. It's definitely a budget hotel but it was clean, warm and safe. As long as you have a decent buzz and a good sense of humor this place will do just fine. The bed was firm, the pillows were soft and the water was hot. Contrary to other reviews, the heater worked. The remote however, did not.
Cons:We were placed in a handicapped equipped room, though neither of us have a disability. Overall it was ok but the shower was laughable at about 4 ft high and poor drainage. The bathroom was practically flooded by the time I finished splashing water on myself. But the water was hot.

Pros:location is convenient, breakfast was acceptable even it was small portions a 1/4 of a muffin, cereal, milk, oj, and coffee.
Cons:room has a smell, poor maintenance, handicapped room when we are not in that need.
