Overview of Royal Brunei Airlines

Royal Brunei Airlines offers a range of international flights out of its hub in Bandar Seri Begawan. Services are available to more than 12 countries spanning across Asia, Europe, the Middle East and Australia. A close partnership is held with China, offering approximately 8 separate destinations. It is recognized as the official flag carrier of Brunei and is solely owned by the government. RB Link operates as a subsidiary of the carrier, focusing on regional flights to both Indonesia and Malaysia.

A mix of Airbus and Boeing aircraft make up the airline’s fleet, with a preference for long-distance jets that can facilitate transcontinental routes. Models such as the Airbus A320 and Boeing 787 are regularly flown. The aircraft are decorated with a minimal yellow tail, while a special remark is emblazoned on one A320, which celebrates Hassanal Bolkiah receiving a golden jubilee.

Passengers can choose between Economy and Business Class when flying with Royal Brunei Airlines. In the upgraded section, you’ll find a padded seat that reclines to a completely flat bed. Business Class toilets also feature bidets. Alcoholic beverages are not served onboard due to the airline’s Muslim policies; however, customers are allowed to bring their own alcohol to consume on the flight.

While it is not part of an airline alliance, Royal Brunei Airlines holds codeshare agreements with several major global carriers. Among the list is Turkish Airlines, China Airlines, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, and Korean Air. Through these partnerships they are able to provide more connected services and offer a greater network throughout Europe and Asia.
