The staff were exceptional - friendly, highly responsive to all requests, fluently multi-lingual. Although the website had promised a gym or fitness room, there is no such facility: only a spa for massage and facials and similar treatments. The location in Sta Theresa is interesting for a couple of days but not the most convenient for longer.
The public rooms were very impressive and definitely had the 'wow' factor going on. The terrace and bar were great places to hang out and while away a few hours. I would recommend the hotel for these things alone. There was no directory in the room which explained the facilities and how the tv worked. Also coffee was on offer on the room service menu but when requested I was told to go down to the bar. The loo was not fixed to the floor and wobbled quite significantly (rather disconcerting) and there was no cold water in my room on arrival so I had to have an extremely hot shower.
Outstanding staff who went out of their way to help us find great restaurants and make our stay comfortable. All reception and restaurant staff spoke great English. Our deluxe room was absolutely beautiful with a comfortable bed. Beautiful bathroom. We had housekeeping come into our room without knocking once. Otherwise, no problems at all.

Excellent staff,front desk superb. Rooms are lovely and Santa Teresa is much more interesting than the beach areas eg Ipanema. The restaurant, food was good but service poor and very expensive

Staff was dedicated to ensure guests had a pleasant stay The fee charged for the room we stayed in is outrageous and far below the standard/norm that justifies that kind of fee. The room was situated on the street side and therefore very noisy.
The hotel is calm, nicely decorated, with spacious rooms overlooking the bay. The staff is very helpful and offers good advice for restaurant and evening reservations, as well as great help with transportation and translation for those who do not speak portuguese. Away from the touristic places, the hotel is located in the old-fashioned heart of the city.
Staff were excellent and extremely helpful. Gave invaluable advice on where to go and booked us some amazing restaurants to go to. Hotel is in a lovely location.

Breakfast is the only positive thing I can say about the hotel. The hotel is over priced, I was so disappointed with it. The bathroom and furnishing very poor, the bed was uncomfortable. Over rated.
We loved the view, the design aspects and the location.
The hotel was small and intimate and all staff were very pleasant and accomodating. Rooms were excellent and the hotel's position in the Santa Theresa district puts you in the middle of an historical part of the city. It was let down by excessive cost for food presented on their room service menu (the only food you can get apart from breakfast) that was of very poor quality - R$25 (£10) for 2 slices of bread with ham and cheese masquerading as a pannini with nothing on the side. We would recommend it if you want to be within the city and don't need to eat there. The limited room service menu is very expensive for what you get and is not of good quality (see above)

This was a wonderful place to stay in Santa Teresa. The upstairs "Deluxe Room" had a beautiful balcony off the back of the room, including an outdoor Jacuzzi tub! The staff was very helpful and the morning breakfast was delicious. Beware of the taxi drivers in this area; they had almost no idea how to get to the hotel. In two cases, we drove for almost 20 minutes out of the way. Definitely use your cell phone for navigation if you are trying to get there!
There was one friendly and helpful employee From the first moment you come in you get the impression the only thing they are after is your money,They will as soon as possible make sure you pay for all your nights in advance, Once you have agreed to pay for just limited days, they make you to undo the rest of the booking and put it as soon as possible again on the website. Then they bring you to the worst room (more then half the rooms are underground) and hope you stick with it. Once you want to change you´ll have to discuss for 10 minutes, before they´ll check if another room is available. Off course all rooms are very noisy, because unclosable windows look into the central airshaft. -In the end I had to book another hotel, without refund for the nights I had to cancel!
Location and staff were great! Very helpful with holding my bags when I arrived before check in and also the day I left.

The staff of the hotel is really good and client's satisfaction oriented. The location of this hotel is perfect, at 5 min walk from the "Gloria" metro station. Copacabana beach is only at 20 min door to door using the metro.

Reception staff are very friendly and helpful. Internet is not free and very very slow. Bathroom is very small and difficult to wash your face. During sleep, it is very noisy. Safe battery was finished and didn t work. ipenama beach is better than Copacabana but both are far from the hotel. Homeless people are around the hotel and sleeping on the street.

Good location only couple of minutes walk from the metro. Rooms newly refurbished. Pleasant front desk staff. The policy of strictly wanting payment for the entire stay immediately on arrival - the lack of trust demonstrated by the management staff is insulting to the guests. Poor replenishment of breakfast items when they had been finished and breakfast was only served until 9am which is the earliest of anywhere we have stayed in the world. Rooms do not have any external windows. All prearranged late check-outs are charged. Internet available but charged for and only 1 computer. In general the hotel needs to review some of its policies and try to be a bit more liberal in their application (use common sense in situations). Would recommend this hotel if attitudes/policies improved.
