Philadelphia hotels near Independence National Historical Park

Cons: The phone operators for reservations were very rude. I spoke to several ones during the week before my stay. Only the last one I spoke to was helpful. I ended up double booking because I was told by a staff member earlier in the week that they couldn't find me on record of having booked a room so I ended up booking another. When it came close to check in, I was told that I indeed had booked the initial room. The last lady I spoke was very understanding and cancelled that initial room since I booked the second one through a third party.

Cons: The night staff didn't seem as up beat as the morning staff - but then again they are working nights. They did their jobs and got my room key to me in very little time. :)

Cons: It would be nice to have some kind if discounted parking. Also, we had dinner in the hotel's restaurant and would only give it 1-2 star. Would not eat there again.

Cons: My room was not ready till 5pm.

Cons: Staff not knowledgeable about local area. Parking fee exorbitant( the most I ever paid for parking, anywhere, anytime).

Cons: $50 to park your car is kind of expensive but you get a full 24 hours.

Cons: Panhandlers outside the front while we waited for our car. They sat by the door and were smoking. Made it a little uncomfortable. mostly to breathe because of the smell of the cigarettes.

Cons: There was hair in the shower.

Cons: The valet parking was a bit pricey but it was very convenient and no stress.

Cons: Key card system for elevator and room access were not functioning correctly and posed issues for must guests.

Cons: Double lock on door didn't recede so you had to jerk handle to be sure door closed.

Cons: It's a little hard to grab a cab/uber out front, but that's the city. No reflection on the hotel at all.

Cons: The bed was way too soft. And the walls are thin so we we were woken up through the night by a group next door to us. We finally called the front desk at 4:30 and they addressed the issue.

Cons: I receive a monthly check from the VA for a service connected disability -- my ONE night stay cost more than that entire check! And for what? I received no continental breakfast; parking is $50 a NIGHT; and my room with a king-sized bed was tiny. No idea if internet was included, as I was not given a password. I wanted to sit in my room and prepare for a speech I had to give, but, my absurdly expensive room did not come with a chair besides an ergonomically nightmarish desk chair. I had a ton of clothes because I was there for a three day wedding, so my hands were full. I received no bell-service, carried all my stuff to my room, and the keys didn't work; so I had to lug everything back to the front desk. Had to iron shirts for the wedding, the ironing board looked like it was bought from a yard sale. For the cost of this room, I expect quality amenities. Also, the bouncer for the rooftop bar, who looked a like a teenager, watched one of the wedding guests get assaulted, laughed, and did nothing. Honestly, we should've called the police. Posh and ostentatious, with little reward. Go somewhere else.

Cons: Bed was not very comfortable (for me, the BF loved it), the outlets stopped working in the bathroom in the middle of my blow out & could not be fixed, the internet did not work the day we checked in. Also...there is not much follow-through from the staff; we had requested a later check-out that they never acknowledged until we were physically there and brought it up ourselves again during check-in. We asked for a room away from the elevator bank, but were put in one directly next to it. Tried to order room service & the person on the phone said they would have to call back to 'confirm the order' but never called back..the food appeared 20 minutes later, cold. Negatives aren't the end of the world, but there are definitely some things we weren't thrilled with. But the staff, including the valet, were lovely & very friendly.

Cons: • Room was dusty. • Bathroom shower had no door, and so the floor and bathroom door always got wet. • First room was large but was for a disabled person. WHen we changed the room, we were given a comparatively very small room. When we asked if we could get a larger room, we were told that there were none except the rooms for disabled persons.

Cons: Smaller elevators but it was doable...we just have 2 kids and a huge stroller ;)

Cons: I think they should have better pictures of the corner suite on there website, because there suite was better then the pictures shown.

Cons: No bathtub in room - despite beautiful picture. This is the 3rd or 4th Kimpton Hotel I've stayed in but the least intimate. Hotel was a little busy and staff could be a bit warmer and more helpful.

Cons: Nearly ruin my shirt with a rusty iron.

Cons: I left an expensive piece of technology in the room and when I returned a couple hours later, the staff said they didn't find it.

Cons: Staff friendly and helpful. Great location for walking

Cons: The views are hit or miss, but such is an unavoidable trade off in almost all urban hotel and bright, colorful, playfully ornate decor go a long way to offset this.

Cons: These days every hotel should have free wifi, $12.99 a day is not acceptable when you can go to a budget hotel and get it for free

Cons: The bed was not as comfortable. We usually have a king size bed but opted to 2 queen size and I would prob not do that again.

Cons: Our first room was noisy the shower didn't get hot and the valet was an hour wait to get your car

Cons: Only half of a shower door with no curtain so the shower head sprayed water all over the floor. Alice in Wonderland theme was a little much.

Cons: The front desk/lobby could help a bit more with directions, or perhaps a walking map of downtown could be made available for those who don't have cars.

Cons: Rooms need some updating- which they are in the process of doing and they have the new designs displayed on an easel in the lobby- which I thought was a very nice idea.

Cons: Thin walls. Reception desk was slow as molasses. Possibly understaffed. Check-in on the computer took way too long especially having already provided all my details online. Dried creamer packets for the coffee in room is disgusting.

Cons: Bed was just a little uncomfortable, and the placement of the bathroom in the room was also a little awkward. The door is a slider and doesn't fully close -- and is also effectively right next to the bed. So, that was a little awkward when one of us was in the bathroom and the other was right outside.

Cons: Staff needs to be trained better. Could not provide recommendations for restaurants around. Breakfast plan was confusing. Staff made mistakes and brought out wrong order.
