There was no way to control the temperature of the room. The whole Hotel and were extremely dry , such that I had nose bleeds. Lots of charm, but a brutal place to sleep.

Pros (+) Nice pool, good location
Cons (-) A clogged drain in the bathtub, broken toilet, had to beg for extra towels and shampoo, unfriendly staff, no coffee, not even an ice bucket in the room.
Cons (-) Service and food in the one restaurant was not great
Cons (-) Kayak provided incorrect information in the search for the hotel. Kayak app stated that breakfast was free. However, when we got to the hotel we were told that was incorrect. After calling kayak customer service and being on the phone for 30min, we were ignored even after pointing out the issue . Hotel was great, kayak customer service 1/5.

Pros (+) Classic beautiful Hotel. Friendly Staff, especially the health club receptionist, who was great!
Cons (-) Too old. Need refurbishing. Stained carpets, cracked ceilings, too many extension cords. Position of coffee maker hard to get to which makes making that morning cup a great hassle. Toilet we had in our bathroom was so close to the wall and door is in the way.
Pros (+) Great location right in the heart of Downtown Ottawa, really close to a lot of the sites. Staff is informed and professional, and the facilities (especially the pool) are world class. Loved it here.
