This is definitely somewhere you can come And enjoy a weekend of relaxing family fun!
Liked the Lakehouse restaurant and the pool area. Shuttle to parks was good also.
Didn't like moving rooms twice during our two week stay. Once for a strange loud tapping noise that would wake us up and the other was when the room was infested with tiny ants. Yuck! Very little care or compensation for our problems. Also had a horrible experience at the spa, which the spa and hotel did nothing about. Went in for a relaxing pedicure and came out with cut toes and paying for "extras" they didn't mention would be extra...like taking off my old polish. Won't go back to that spa again.
Lovely rooms, grounds and staff. Great location and well maintained with plenty of options
Parking fees spoil the overall experience. Always happy to pay for food, facilities and good accommodation but paying for parking at a hotel with so much surrounding space feels like what it is: You're being ripped off! Don't do it. It insults your customers and it's unnecessary
Room was not ready at 4:00 p.m. check in time. Wasn't ready until about 10:00 p.m.. Housekeeping staff not consistent in cleaning and restocking items in rooms, being I had two rooms. Need to hire better workers One of the worst Hyatt hotel I stayed at. Very disappointing.
Room not ready at check in time Housekeeping not doing their job, need to hire and fire. No water bottles one day, no shower rug, This is the worst Hyatt I have ever stayed at.
Great hotel with a wonderful pool area
My family and I had a blast at the Grand Cypress. The grounds are fantastic with plenty to do for all ages.
There was only one person at the front desk when we arrived at 3pm and it took over 15 minutes to tend to the couple in front of us.
"On the rocks" was phenomenal.
Screaming children Game room was lacking the bed was uncomfortable
The grounds are spectacular - lush greenery and foliage, variety of flowers, manicured -they must have a team of scientists and gardeners to plan the landscaping year round. All amenities are included -bikes, climbing wall, sailing, kayaking. 24-hour pool and hot tub are a huge bonus, especially after a day and night of disney. The staff is equally incredible throughout the hotel. St. Augustine has been my favorite local weekend get-away, but now the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress is IT! It may just win the competition between any of the Disney parks or just a relaxing, but activity filled day at the hotel for the best day of your vacation too! Breakfast buffet ($22) is great too - seems pricey, but the options are high end from ham, bacon, prosciutto, salami, variety of cheeses, sausages, yogurts, fruits ( melons and berries), pastries, artisan breads, omelets, oatmeal, boxed cereals, and then the usual scrambled eggs, ham, sausage, breakfast potatoes, pancakes, waffles, etc. Other food and grocery store options are literally within 5 miles. Room has "cool box" (small refrigerator without freezer) that keeps soda cold.
Best customer service ever!
When the front desk found out it was our wedding night, they upgraded us for free to a 2-story suite with a outdoor patio at the very top of the hotel. There was a bottle of champagne and a plate of chocolate covered strawberries waiting for us. They were unbelievably nice. Best hotel experience ever!!!
The bar near the lobby was open to the pool guests, so all night families were walking through the dining area, specifically the door closest to the bar, while people were dining and it was distracting, and very loud. Perhaps the door nearest the bar should be locked. There were at least 2 to 3 other entrances to the lobby/ dining area to be utilized. Otherwise, a great experience!
Getting nickel and dimed for parking & breakfast at $25/ each significantly increased the cost of a daily stay. I make over a million $ a year and have been to the hotel several times, but the silly expensiveness makes me sure to avoid another stay.
The service and the club level.
Could've stayed in a bigger room.
