We were made very welcome and the Hotel was very well placed for the park and shopping. The view was hardly inspiring.
We got a good deal for the 'Privileged room' and we were given an upgrade to the next level as it was out of season and they had the ability to offer it to us. Was great to have a large room for a few days. Close to the beach and loads of shopping, restaurants, cafes and the stop for the hop on hop off tour bus. They had all the flyers of tourist things at the counter. Wifi was good. No TV reception for english channels.
proximity to local transportation international channels size of room was too small even for one person extremely loud at night rude employees!
I enjoyed the fact that the hotel was very central with easy access to buses and trains.
Near to the City, clean room Room was very smal
Location No parking facilities offered to guests, however there is a public parking with preferred rates overnight
Location was excellent I wouldn't say it was 4 star. It was very basic and tatty in parts.
Location was good and hotel's decor fun and kitschy. Small room.
The availability and efficiency of the staff. The quality of the infra-structure, atmosphere of the hotel and its location. The room bathroom could be equipped with more towel hangers. During breakfast it would be best if the service staff would not start cleaning the room (washing the chairs, etc.) while people are finishing their meal. It disturbs a bit the breakfast experience.
Staff is very friendly, breakfast was excellent, hotel in general (colours, furniture...) Room for breakfast is too small for so many people
Great location, very close to the Messena Place and the old town. Restaurants close by. Rooms are a decent size as far as French hotels go and for once the air conditioning actually worked. Staff spoke English and were helpful. We were only at the hotel for a quick overnight stay and didn't arrive until 9:30 pm so we didnt spend a long time in the hotel. Had breakfast in a cafe in the market.
convenient location, not too noisy
Beautiful design, good location for shopping The air conditioner didn't work well, it was very hot when we arrived at evening time. I called the reception two times, they promised to come and do something but they didn't, so we suffered the very hot room even in autumn time, +17 degree outside. They only fix it in the next morning.
Great location. Friendly staff. great room. All extars very expensive - eg breakfast or to have a drink in the bar (22 euros for one cognac !)
Food and Hotel were gorgeous. WiFi 7E for 30 mins in reception! No WiFi in bedrooms. Should be free in bedrooms.
great hotel ,great design , nothing
the roses all around the place no service after 12 a.m. :(
Beautiful hotel, good location, very friendly and efficient staff. The hydrotherapy pool is lovely
The Incredible architecture, fantastic staff and superb rooms.
Very accomodating, not too big and felt personal. The service is exceptional and the spa is a must-do.
You can hear everything in the corridor. not good service at all. horrible breakfast
The hotel seems over-rated. It gives you the feeling of being old or overused or at least not well taken care of. Beyond the intention of design...some of the fittings seem...cheap... Plus, the idea of having the bathtub in the room could be special, but it is not practical. The lights are also not thought in a practical way...
Nice adjacent restaurant. Clean room with an bit odd, but original, design. Clearly visible that the hotel was renovated last year. Noise level in the room was a bit high due to the busy road outside.
Excellent location for shops and beach. Very nice hotel. Room not quite matching external areas of hotel. Overall, very nice hotel. Rooftop restaurant/bar/seating area impressive. Room very average.
Location Room size
What I liked most about the hotel is that it is very central. You are near the sea and shopping and restaurants are also very close. Probably coming from a country that has a "smoking ban" I felt that the smell in the corridors was quite overpowering, and this was made worse by the fact that air freshner's were used. I feel the hotel needs some freshening up. Breakfast also was delivered incorrectly to us on our first morning. We did not get what we ordered and it was cold.
we were given room 401. We liked it because it was a renovated room with a view of the sea. The bed was very good. Towels were good and the supplies (soap, shower cap, body cream etc...) in the toilet were good.
Location Everything else. Room to small old dirty, poor breakfast, service. My Deluxe room was much small than my friend's superior ?
location, price and atractivness I does not have a pool and the room was small.
Location Poor view from room. No coffee or tea making acilities in the room.
location excellent, quiet, very good maid service, plenty of towels the tv selection is not for english speakers, the shower did not have hot water all the time and hard to control, bathroom small for so called luxury hotel, no coffee or tea with room, no couch in room, staff was aloof
The location, and room size. The hotel was very clean. We would have liked 2 chairs in the room. The bar area was basic and lack atmospere, it did not open until 6pm. The roof terrace was closed the whole time we were there.
Location Staff not very helpful. Very slow to deal with guests at reception
An excellent location and very helpful staff - they contacted a local museum for us to find out if it was open on a Public Holiday (it wasn't!) The buffet breakfast was a bit disappointing. It looked good but all the breads were very dry and chewy, the fruit didn't taste fresh and tea needs to be made with boiling water, not from a pot of warm water brought to the table.
excellent situation for beach and right on promenade. service was good, friendly staff.
Friendliness of staff. Reccomendations for excellent local restaurants UnInformed of Sarcozie's visit & therefore inability to get in or out of hotel
Seaview rooms are great, exactly in front of the sea and with a modern furniture.
Very convenient location. Room was spacious. Staff were good humoured and helpful. Bed was super comfy!
Location, location, location Clear specification of parking on web site
Nice and clean rooms, close to most Nice amenities, 2 car rentals in the same building (plus casino and police! dept) Common area is very small and required slight renovation, personnel could be more friendly
Excellent location, friendly&helpful staff. -
location was wonderful, just across the street from the beach and only a couple of blocks from the old town
good staff bedroom quite dark on second floor
Location The terrible service. No room service in the night. Every time you ask reception for something - the answer we don't have it. They dont't have umbrellas during the rain, they don't have iron, they don't have food in the night. In the 4* stars hotel :(
Great location - Staff not always very helpful. One staff member in particular had a very poor command of English and was unable to give simple directions or answer basic questions.
I liked that it has own beach, is located close to most things tourist needs Its very noisy (cant really complain about that cause its good location isn't quiet), having problems with hot water, could have few more hangers
The staff was friendly and helpful. I really liked the beach-rock themed remodel, especially the beach rocks encased in the floor of the bathroom. (I've been going to the Beau Rivage periodically for 20 years.) The hotel beach is quite nice, and lunch there is really good. The location is perfect, and Le Comptoir Bar next door is great for after dinner drinks and people watching. Not really. On my last night (the night before an early flight) they put me in a room overlooking a tiny urban courtyard (not too picturesque, like somewhere in New York), but we got there late and we had to leave before the sun rose, so it didn't really matter. It wouldn't have been a great room if I was there for a week of beach-going. Also, they took only nonrefundable cash for a spot at the beach, and there was a sea pollution warning that afternoon, and it started raining on us at the beach, so that didn't work out too well.
This hotel was excellent as we took a disabled lady and nothing was too much trobule well done to the staff.Joyce Knight
Check in delay and room quality
There is a great breakfast and the lobby is beautiful. It is right across the street from the beach.
-----------nothing to like..........I DO NOT RECOMMEND BEAU RIVAGE... My experience in this hotel:
Location, and the room layout My room was super noisy as it didn't have curtains. Couldn't sleep all night due to people partying outside. Came back to see my card being charged again for the stay even though I have already prepaid. Am disputing this with my credit card company right now.
Modern hotel in a great location for Nice city centre and the beach For the standard and price there were a few minor flaws such as plaster falling off room ceiling, and shower being extremely user unfriendly.
This hotel located in the center of the city, next to sea, shopping, a lot of restaurants. Our room was really small. There was the dust everywhere.
Everything was beyond excellence, the hotel, the position, the welcome - everything The staff at the beach club were quite good but one in particular was quite surly.
Close to the seaside. Very, very slow elevator
Hotel is clean, comfortable and friendly staff, not luxurious but for the price it was certainly great value. Location is superb, cafe's and shops on the doorstep, 5 mins walk from the Promenade de Anglais, old town ten mins away. Didn't have any food - went to the Boulangerie across the road. All in all an excellent little hotel - ticked all the boxes. We were on the first floor near the breakfast room, so if you hate noise it may not suit you - but I like the bustle of city hotels and this did not bother us at all.
The room, the location and the price
Good location near the beach and shops etc. The bed was uncomfortable, the cooler didn't work properly in our room, we couldn't regulate it, and the nights were rather hot.
Staff very helpful and happy to speak English. Good location just of the main Promende des Anglais and short walk to the old town. Room was a bit small and could her those in adjoining room (they were noisy though)
I liked the location of the hotel price. The hotel has clean enough.Close to the sea, the pedestrian area, restaurants and shops. I did not like the room was very small. The hotel has no wireless internet.
We had a large comfortable room. The hotel has a very convenient location close to the water and shopping area. The old town is also nearby. It is also close to many restaurants.
Perfect location. Dedicated staff. The bed was really uncomfortable. It was the only and major disadvantage of the hotel.
Location Very small bedroom. Bed too soft. Breakfast had few choices
Character and charm of the accommodation and the friendly and helpful staff. Nothing was ever a problem for them. Loved everything!
Bad service, not frienly personal, very good location
I liked the friendly staff at the reception you call it a 3 star hotel - It was a 1 star hotel
Location and room 502 with sea view it is old and needs a new makeup
i liked the location and the friendliness of the staff the dining room was not big enough and became very crowded
Good location, within walking distance from the beach, shopping etc. It is definitely not a three star hotel. Need better amenities are expected from a three star hotel. Rooms have musty smell, no proper tissue paper, no clock, no iron, no glasses to drink water from and breakfast was not adequate as advertised on your website..Internet connection was available but not free. It was not clearly specified in the website.
You step out of the hotel and to the left is the beach. To the right is the old town and the tram that's a couple stops from the train station. Breakfast was good and the wifi was fast and free. Not much to complain about.
The fact that it was near the sea and that we had a view of the sea Nothing particular
location breakfast, cleaning time (it was too late)
Excellent location; good breakfast. The room was extremely noisy on the street side.
location, Felt secure. Close to everthing of interest. Lobby could be more inviting. TV remote did not work. Internet access was poor.
Excellent location .Easy to access. Breakfast charge 20EUR/person! plus expensive internet charge. Usually at that room price, internet is free of charge.
Lovely room/decor attention to detail. Balcony superb Small room. Party on top floor was very noisy until after 3am. No hot water or air con on last day.
Nice environment, great location and great value of money. The room was a bit small but very clean and with modern decoration. Overall the best of this hotel is the location which is ideal and the value of money comparing to the services and the facilities which they provide.
Excellent location, very central; pleasant hotel and staff small, fairly dark room; small towels in bathroom; high payment to use internet
Was upgraded on arrival to a renovated room. Room was lovely. The location of this hotel is excellent- minutes to the beach, market, etc, beside the shops and has the tram in front. Has the rooftop bar has best views in Nice.
i liked the location which is in the heart of the city, close from the old town, shopping area, resturants and cafe, as well as the beach and massena square.
The constant maid service became annoying. Even with the do not disturb sign on the door we were disturbed. The first morning we woke up to the maid walking in to our room. Though we appreciate they are trying to do their job, we were on holiday and felt like we were not allowed to relax in our hotel room.
Our room was upgraded for no extra cost I missed the possibility to make tea or coffee in the room
The location. The air circulation in the room was not very good. Therefore, it smelt sort of rotten (from the humidity).
Not a lot Really only a 2 star
Great location, good reputation. Front desk staff and lounge area very nice/helpful. Knowing this is in a very sexy, happening area, the hotel gets plenty of use, so the tiny details are slightly overlooked. Poor av connection, room more basic than stylized, housekeeping and staff 'a bit' inconvenient or noisy, but overall, good for where the location is. Good experience, not fantastic. Also, wifi should be standard. In-room ethernet (cat5) hookup (iPad, iPhone - won't work), and had to go to lobby, where wifi had to be purchased. Should be amenity. Could connect to McDonalds, which isn't the way to go (or shouldn't be)
Was disgusted to find a bedside table full of condoms used and new plus the carrier bag in which they were bought, obviously the room had not been cleaned very well
location Limitation of repair
Size of room. View over the town and sea. Air conditioning not working
A great location on the Promenade des Anglais and near to the old town, a good breakfast with stunning view over the Mediterranean though rather expensive, a few design elements, the private beach though expensive too repairing one of the elevators took 3 days, a pity that they charge for internet access (a shame for this category of hotel),
Location, location, location and the breakfast!
the location and the friendliness of the room staff (ONLY the room staff, NOT the reception) reception staff friendliness and time to act very poor, pool poor
great location. on the promenade de anglais... next to the main attractions and close enough to the local market for an easy walk. smoke. but everyone smokes in europe so not a big deal. the casino was a little cheesy, but location more than made up for this.
The room and balcony
The hotel is decent for a three-star. We chose this hotel because it was pet-friendly. The room was decent if a bit drab and the location was good. We found the front desk people extremely unfriendly and unhelpful, which was a damper on our whole experience. With many hotels in Nice, one should consider others in the area.
The vicinity to the beach. The hotel couldn't accept credit cards because their machine wasn't working. We had to pay by cash for 6 nights (which came out of our holiday spending money), the annoying part, however, was that we weren't advised until we were checking out, so it was very inconvenient. Also, there was no mini bar in the room (fridge especially) so we couldn't keep our own drinks cool.
Good Location, Helpful staff, Comfortable Hotel Bad odour coming from the sink tap.
Staff were helpful and polite. Breakfast was very good. Beds were comfortable. Availability of computer in the lobby for internet use was very helpful for re-booking flights and trains given the train/plane cancellations caused by the strikes. Meant we didnt have to go out and search for an internet cafe to access the net. Not everyone carries a laptop/ I pad with them so having a computer to access on site was very useful! The superior rooms were clean and comfortable but small. Could possibly be improved in terms of being re-decorated. Re decorating would render the rooms I stayed in more asthetically pleasing. Also sometimes the rooms were too warm at night. Air conditioning is too noisy when its put on as is leaving a window open. This is a general problem with most hotels, not just the Mercure!
The staff were very pleasant and helpful, breakfasts were good and breakfast staff were excellent, they couldn't do too much for you. Rooms were clean. Ideal for shopping and business alike. Sparse room amenities. Poor decor in bathroom
Kept clean and reception staff friendly and helpful
Location. Excellent breakfast. Good size room. No towel racks in bathroom. Portable fridge to use dumped in a corner on the floor. Plenty of coffee and tea but only two nimbles of latte.
the location is good, close to shopping area, old Nice, public transportation very small sized rooms with old decor and furniture, unfriendly staff, no minibar
Location great just two minutes from main restaurants, yet in a quiet street. Friendly and excellent quality and cleanliness. All in all a great stay and would definitely go back or recommend it. Tea and coffee facilities would be good
The location was perfect great resteraunts nearby
Excellent location, ok service. Quite small rooms.
The staff were friendly and helpful. They also spoke English very well. The room was clean and comfortable and the best feature was the location right on the water next to the flower market. The first room we were given overlooked a street where construction was being done. When we asked for a different room they very graciously moved us to one away from the noise.
The staff at the desk were courteous, helpful and spoke very good English; one printed my boarding pass for the return to London. The breakfast room was cramped and while I understand service is expensive some guidance would be helpful.
The closeness to the beach and old town. The staff were helpful and friendly and spoke good English which was contrary to reviews I'd read so fab!
Location small room
The location was great ..right on the beach and the flower market behind. This was def. the best bit about the hotel. The room was ok and the air conditioning was great. It just felt very expensive for what it was considering you then had to pay another 13 euros for breakfast ! ( which we didn't !) The view from the window was terrible and we were right at the top of the hotel. The balcony had one chair and was covered in bird droppings. We were quite concerned about the fire regulations and how we would escape if we needed to !!! I think this is important to check out for people allocated the rooms at the top of the hotel.
excellent location, clean and comfort room, friendly staff
The Location is the winner of this place. As with all hotels the rooms are bit small and are below similar rating of rest of Europe but nothing to get too upset about. overall the hotel is clean and tidy. I do remember the breakfast being very good for this type of hotel, a nice big offering. if you have a car, Nice can be a nightmare to park at weekends. thats not the hotel's fault though!
The location was perfect for our needs, easy access to the airport, on the sea front, close to the Old Town and right beside the shopping and restuarant areas. The extractor fan in our bathroom did not work and when mentioned to the management nothing happened but we were only there two nights, in winter time and it did not impinge on our enjoyment.
I liked everything, the room was very big, the sheets beautifully laundered.
stayed in Le Grimaldi twice: friendly English-speaking staff, good location, pleasant atmosphere, clean and cosy
The staff. loaction and design of this hotel is perfect for a visit to Nice and the surrounding towns. This was our 4th stay here.
hotel staff was very kind, helpful and proffesional for hotel of that cathegory breakfast looked to be quite simple
It's location. The character of the hotel. The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff
Nice room, helpful staff, very clean No all was ok, for those who like to have breakfast in the hotel, there is no special room for restaurant, breakfast is served in the lobby
We enjoy the French style of the hotel, the warm welcome and very helpful staff. We had a superior twin room and it was very large with very large bathroom. Decor not terrific but ok.
Location / the Reception staff & the best House Keeping the rooms facing internal. We changed our room after the 1st nite.
Helpful reception staff
Good location and service
space of room. bathroom quality.
the location was excellent close to everything. the room was great 3rd floor with a view of the sea.
nice staff is not worth 4 stars
Great location by the sea front and near the old town. Clean. Friendly and helpful staff.
We were given an excellent room for the price we paid. Would not stay there for the full rack rate Not really
good location, close to the beach No minibar, no roomservice. Poor service, would not explain how to use internet and than overcharge. For the ad they put the renovated room pictures, and I booked one like that but when arrived, had the old room with half broken chairs.
The friendly, helpful staff. At the time of our stay the hotel was very quiet. I did not like the very small room. At 7pm on a Saturday evening we were unable to get a drink from the bar as they didn't have any staff member available to open it.
Great location in Nice, breakfast very good and overall a perfect hotel for a few days in Nice Furnishings in the hotel rooms are a little past their best. Room was clean and comfortable.
Although our room was of moderate size, it was well decorated and clean. The bathroom was first class. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Overall we had an extremely pleasant stay and considered the hotel worthy of it's four stars.
Excellent central location - close to everything. Good value for money Lack of a small barl/lounge area
The location was good, it was within easy walking distance from the promenade as well as the station.
A+. Location is perfect, but without the critical other 50%, location is worth little. Timed 5 min walk to the sea [emerge between Negresco and the citadel], Albert I gardens; tram stop, Nice Etoile, Monoprix just "up the street;" short walk to bus station, Old City. Re the other 50%: terrific staff [professional, warm, courteous; always helpful]; so very tidy and clean throughout; room good size/attractive/comfortable; fridge, kettle with coffee/tea/biscuits, AC/heat control, "lingere" wash line; plenty of hot water. Free internet in lobby; umbrellas, maps; weather and popular bus routes posted. Am an AM coffee-only person, but heard no complaints about the hotel's breakfast [aromas very nice]. Only regret was leaving. Perfect 10.
The hotel is in a good location for sightseeing, the staff are friendly and helpful. It would be nice, if they turned on the heating when it is only 8 degrees in Nice.....
I found the hotel to be very central.
I didn't stay there Their policy of no refunds despite the fact that I tried to cancel the reservation more than 6 months before the scheduled arrival date
location, staff, comfort room was renovated recently, but not the bathroom.
Room was spacious, friendly service and good location. I missed shower curtains.
nothing was to much bother for the staff you could hear the the other guests in adjoining rooms
The Best Western Roosevelt is a good 3 star hotel in an excellent location in Nice. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Our room was had double but when we requested a room with a larger bed our request was granted immediatly. The buffet breakfast is fresh and plentiful and is served until 10.30. After that there is a supply of coffee and pastries available all day. We received a complimentary bottle of wine and a bottle of water on arrival. A nice touch. The reception staff were extremely helpful and were able to answer all our questions and showed concern when we needed help. The manager/owner was also available to answer any queries and made all his guests feel welcome.. We had no problems with this hotel.
We loved our triple room, which is very hard to find in Europe. We lost our parking pass and were told that we would have to pay a fine of $100 if we couldn't find it in 3-4 days. This seems unfair because we were not infromed that there would be a big penalty like that when we were given the pass.
We found the hotel staff very friendly. The location of hotel very central. Area excellant. Short walking distance to tram/bus stops, promenade and old town. Rue Messena/France, bars and restaurants only a few minutes away. The rooms were very clean and the beds very comfortable. The free coffee/tea in the reception area was a bonus. We were stuck in Nice for 4 extra nights due to the pension strikes. The staff were very helpful in accomodating us in extending our stay at our original tariff. One of the better smaller hotels we stayed in.
transfer was well-organized.. dirty rooms, disgusting smell in the hotel, especially in rooms...
I came from italy and switzerland from staying at 4 stars hotel and this one dose not deserve even two. It had a dirty aspect the halls and the rooms.
Good central location On site parking Swimming pool very small.
It was very central to all areas. The staff were very helpful.
excellent staff, very helpful shower was not on the wall, but attached to the bath taps only
quiet and comfortable place
The hotel staff were extremely helpful. The best hotel staff I have come across so far. The terrace room was worth the money and the location of the hotel was good. The pool was good too. The internet and pay tv facility was well worth it as well. They could improve by getting better beds. Beds were quite small even tho we stayed in a superior room.
staff very pleasant at reception. price of breakfast.. didnt get it to expensive
Location Uncomfortable pull-out sofa bed supplied for 3rd person in room. Extra pillows requested 3 times never arrived, swimming pool is more like ornamental pool just off reception.
