Great location... and price. The Normandie Bar is great.
Rust on towel rack and dirty bathroom mirror
Very nice historic hotel!
The design and decor. The architecture is very nice.
Nicely Renovated Space in heart of LA
An older property that retains its character but nicely updated, Hotel Normandie is a comfortable property in a great location. Walk to some of the best Korean food in the world! The staff is friendly and without a lot of effort, you could imagine yourself in a classic movie! The lobby evokes a different age. Also, a fun cafe is accessible from the lobby.
Strangely missing was a way to heat water in your room. Curious oversight... The breakfast was nice, but next time I will pay more and eat at the restaurant. Not a bad thing, but I was hungry and wanted a full breakfast.
It was perfect for my stay in Los Angeles. The hotel was beautiful and felt unique. The bed was comfortable to sleep in. Maid service was on top of it when I requested it. Overall, I would stay there again.
No counter or vanity space in the bathroom. My toiletries and makeup ended up on the back of the toilet. I normally live out of my suitcase, but there was barely any storage in the room if you wanted to unpack your stuff.
Staff were all amazing. Loved the 4:30-6 wine reception. Breakfast was delicious
I liked that it was pretty quiet for an area that was really busy during the day and night. Other than that I'd recommend this place even for an over night trip. The staff was super nice and welcoming. One of the nice ladies in the front complemented me on my fresh tattoo and I really appreciated it cos it was important to me.
I guess I didn't like the valet situation, but what ya gonna do about it.
Cool L.A. digs!
Cleanliness and simplicity. Very retro which was a throw back touch you cannot duplicate. Loved Cassell's!
Charming, lots of character, and quiet, but sparse
The feel, atmosphere, and decor of the hotel were very interesting, and the staff was nice. The restaurant next door had incredible desserts and breakfast!
The only parking option was $32/day vallet. The hotel was very sparse in amenities (e.g. the lobby is pretty much decorative, no breakfast, no coffee). There wasn't a lot of space for us to eat our take out. Where do you throw our baby'd dirty diapers away?!
Service is excellent but the rooms are mehh... not
Last minute reservations led me to this hotel. I was at a wedding and the celebration was extended and we needed a place to crash. Price is decent, parking is not what I was expecting. Even if you stay you get charged 32.00 bucks to leave your car in the premises.
Parking like the rest of the hotels around the area is ridiculous. 30 something bucks for parking in a hotel you are staying... This charge should be shown in the cost of all the websites where the reservations are made. Hey... the room is 158.00 with 26 bucks of taxes and services and 32.00 parking fee... there you have it. the fees do creep on you.
Loved the way they had updated the hotel; it was comfortable and pretty without being generic or "sterile."
Be warned: there are NO cable channels, or movies or anything to watch really, though the rooms have giant TVs. Also, overnight parking is $29 and there is no room service or restaurant (yet) or even a vending machine!
Designed and built in the 1920's by famed architects Walker & Eisen, the boutique Hotel Normandie has seen over nine decades of personalities and has established itself as an icon in Los Angeles. If only these walls could talk! Come experience for yourself what a multi-million dollar renovation will do for an already unique and beautiful hotel property. We provide guests with great amenities and services to ensure you stay connected and feel at home.
