Cons: Room was small and seemed a bit cramped. Wouldn't be comfortable for an extended stay.
Pros: Awesome location close to everything in the plaza area.
Cons: Small room but that's part of historic hotels
Pros: Staff friendly and helpful

Pros: Beautiful restoration. Excellent service. Surprisingly intimate in the middle of the city. 2 thumbs up!
Pros: The staff was very accommodating and attentive to our needs. Every recommendati
Pros: The Ambassador was really nice. Our room was great and cool looking, giant king size bed was comfy. They gave you free bottled water (as many as you needed), which was nice.
The staff was really great as well. The highlight was the complimentary car service and their afternoon / night driver Bert. He was like a personal tour guide and knew a lot about the city. He also had really great restaurant and bar recommendations. He also got us into the Boulevard Brewing Tour last minute, which was booked out for the next six months. I didn't know this guy until the trip, but he really went out of his way to make my wife and I's KC experience worth while.
Cons: The bathroom door didn't lock and their was no fan ventilation in the bathroom.
The bar downstairs was pricey!

Pros: The staff at Hotel Sorella went out of their way to help me when I became very ill during trip. Their chef made me special soup, and the banquet manager even drove me to the hospital when that eventually occurred. The front desk did everything they could to accommodate my needs as I could not leave my room.
While my business trip was ruined due to the illness, they made it a lot more comfortable.
I would come here again and again!
Cons: Was asked for my room key as proof that I was staying in at the hotel. Was later informed by an employee that the individual that asked for proof that I was staying at the hotel did not ask the Caucasian individuals who were staying at the hotel. Will never go back.
Cons: Being unfamilar with the area, I opted for the valet parking for our stay. When I ventured out from the hotel to the Country Club Plaza area 1.5 blocks away, I found a large free parking garage! Won't make that mistake again if I ever go back there.
Pros: Nice place. Good location.
Cons: Valet expense.
Pros: We had a great weekend at Hotel Sorella! All of the staff was great! Especially enjoyed the staff at breakfast. Simone was over the top friendly! We had a group of international students in attendance with us and she made them all feel right at home.

Cons: I have zero complaints.
Pros: Great staff, terrific hot breakfast, super clean and comfortable.
Cons: Vending machines not working, no service stations anywhere near to refuel.

Cons: HVAC system right outside window & keep us awake every night--Heater control did not work work in room and was very warm even though we turned the heated down to 58 degrees (rm #222)
Pros: Best of all was the host, who did everything she could to make us feel welcome. She was so kind and resourceful! The hotel was easy to find and felt very comfortable to stay in. The room was very nice, the beds were large and comfortable. It had sufficient ammenities for our needs. I loved the fitness room also, especially the tv in each machine. I also enjoyed the coffee bar.
Cons: The shower seemed weak.
Cons: Failed to clean room after first night
Layout of room was terrible.
Bathroom and shower were the worst ever experience
Pros: The room was very clean and spacious.
I wish they had a soda machine instead of the snack bar at the front where soda was almost $3.00.
I felt the breakfast was wonderful.
A great place to stay for the weekend.
I want to stay at other Hyatt hotels like this again.
Pros: The hotels was great. It was a perfect size and the staff got to know me and were very friendly. I was surprised at how good the food was here. The breakfast was a large buffett which had some rotating egg dishes. The food you could order was good too, better than expected and the prices were reasonable. Definitely check out the happy hour when you go. I used the fitness center one day too and loved it. More than what I expected from a hotel this size.
I would definitely consider a Hyatt Place next time I travel.
Cons: The only thing I didn't like was the PPV movies in the room were terribly expensive. It was around $18.00 to rent a movie. Are you kidding me?
-Oversized guestroom featuring a Hyatt Grand Bed-42in Flat Panel High Def TV with Electronic Panel-Free high speed Internet Access-Cozy Corner Couch with oversized sleeper sofa-Complimentary Gallery Kitchen Breakfast featuring daily, customizable breakfast bowls and yogurt parfaits. -24-hour Grab and Go food outlet offers hot breakfast, made-to-order entrees, sandwiches, soups, and salads.
Cons: Not family friendly. An indoor or outdoor pool needed.
Pros: My girlfriend and I stayed here last weekend for a friend's wedding, and we loved the hotel. The location is great, a block away from all the fun bars/restaurants in Westport, and the hotel itself is beautiful, very modern and elegant. We will definitely be staying here again when we come back to KC.
Cons: The only complaint I had (a small one) is that the Hotel bar was closed Saturday afternoon during some of the games, so I couldn't pop in for a drink.
Pros: Staff was great. Rooms nice but small
Cons: The upkeep of outside hotel and some areas inside seem old
Pros: Hot breakfast and free adult drinks
Cons: Finding food stuck to the bed spread and stains on towels. Side table drawers wouldn't stay closed and the hotel just needs an update.

Pros: Great rooms
However we were told and paid for living room with sofa bed and didnt get it
Otherwise was clean
Lobby had a place and breakfast items could be quite pricy and excellent
Cons: We paid for rooms with living area and didnt get it
But I booked 2 rooms so we didnt complain.

Pros: Very nice stay. Comfortable and clean facility. Easy to get to airport from. Hotel and parking was full when we arrived. Had to park on street which was not convenient.
Pros: I needed an airport close enough to the airport to take a flight departing at 7am. This hotel was the perfect choice.
All the staff I met was friendly, particularly, the front desk personnel and the lovely lady in charge of the free breakfast.
Rooms have microwave and refrigerator. TV has lots of channels, if anytime need to stay in the room for many hours.
Cons: Nothing that I can recall.

Pros: Historic hotel in the heart of downtown Kansas City, close to numerous restaurants and sights, this hotel kept the old charm with nice updares to meet today's traveler. I actually ordered some cookies when I returned late from Insomnia Cookies, they delivered fresh, warm goodness.
Overall the hotel is nice, clean and the showers provide nice pressure which I find less likely these days and a welcomed surprise when shampooing my thick head of hair. I was traveling for work, but I could see how it could also be a nice romantic getaway as well.
Pros: Front desk gave us all vouchers for free cover to get into the Power and Light district (worth $10 each) and vouchers for free cover for two of the bars within it.
Cons: No refrigerator or microwave in room. Expensive parking.

Pros: The rooms were beautiful, fitness center and pool were a good size, and the help and the front desk was friendly.
Cons: NOTHING is included in this $200+ room. No minifridge, no breakfast, no parking, there's even a bottle of water in the room that you will get charged for if you drink.
Pros: Great location in downtown Kansas City. Nice lobby area with full service bar. Large menu served until after midnight (Saturday night) and the food was really good.
Cons: Waited in line for about 30 minutes to check into room. Only 2 staff at front desk.

Pros: View of City
Very nice shops attached, restaurant options.
Staff extremely polite and helpful
Cons: Signage within hotel somewhat confusing.
No directions to hotel parking garage
Elevator to parking garage was not labeled as such
Pros: Friendliness of the staff. Cleanliness of the rooms. Beds were extremely comfortable.
Cons: Group of pre-teen boys running up and down the hallway, screaming and banging on doors in the middle of the night.
Not really the hotel's.fault, but.certainly put a.damper on things.

Cons: I asked the front desk 3 times, 3 days in a row to please fix the light in the bathroom. Each time they stated it would be taken care of. I gave up after the third request on the third day. They are obviously NOT passing along the requests to have maintenance fix these sort of things or there simply was no maintenance person available. But really how hard is it to change the fluorescent tube in a bathroom. I should have asked them to give me the hardware and i could have changed it. No fun shaving in the dark.
Also on the first night the fire alarm went off 3 times, all false alarms. This was between 8:30 and 10 pm. It seemed to be caused by lightning close by. Each time the piecing alarm went on for many minutes with the staff unable to turn it off.
Pros: Nice place to stay, clean rooms, quiet. Good location, close to the plaza and a good variety of restaurants close bye. Beds were pretty comfortable, the complementary breakfast was good.
Cons: My only issue with the whole place was the pillows were thick, I am used to a different style of pillow. I have noticed that many hotels implement these style of pillows, so I would not attribute this hotel as having terrible pillows. Just that I am used to my pillow at home.

Pros: Great staff spacious parking beds comfortable lots of shopping near by
Cons: Bathroom was dated pillows were horrible so soft you needed 10 to make a decent pillow hot water was not great and water pressure was horrible
Pros: The staff was nice and things looked clean. Breakfast was great. While we were there, some kids over flowed the orange juice drip tray and the staff was on it to clean it up. You could tell they were a little upset but they worked together to get it cleaned up.
Cons: It cost $5 for a fridge so I could keep my breast milk. I realize $5 is not that much but that's food for my kid. $5 adds up.
Pros: great breakfast!
Cons: plumbing in the rooms needs an update. Makes lots of noise.

Cons: They ignored my room service card the last 2 nights.
Pros: I loved this hotel. One of the nicest I've ever stayed at. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the room was fantastic. Great view of downtown too.
Pros: Very Friendly staff everywhere I went.
Large, clean, comfortable room. Love the view of the city. Close to food, jazz clubs, and crown center. Would definately recommend for a business trip or with the family. Nice, open bar with food.
Pros: The walkways that connect to places to eat ,stores etc. the best about this hotel. And the lobby is nice.
Cons: Lines to check in and out were long and slow. I suggest you sort lines. I had prepaid and booked and still had to stand in line to check-in for 20 minutes.Had to pay by day for WiFi. So we went to free wifi locations away from hotel. Should not have to pay for that in a hotel that charges per day what this one does. And the charge per day for parking again should at least be one fee per stay. Now for the worst part of our trip. We were put by elevator. And could hear the elevator every trip up and down. All day and night. Did not get a good nights sleep. So if you stay here make sure to ask for room away from elevator locations!
Pros: We received excellent rate through hotels.com. Location to power and light very close and they have a free shuttle.
Cons: Charge for parking.
Pros: Great Location. Easy access to many K.C. attractions. Pool was nice.
Cons: High price, but little value. Bed was uncomfortable and noisy(creaky, squeaky). Small TV. $16 a day for parking. $10 a day for wifi. No continental breakfast.
Pros: Great location and staff.
Cons: Rooms were a bit expensive for what they were

Pros: Great bed, clean bathroom and extra blanket and pillow in the closet, friendly staff
Pros: The best were very comfortable and linens were very soft aND perfect after a long day of travel.
Cons: There was only one ice room per floor.
Pros: Airport pickup and close to airport
Cons: They charged me $25 to check in early as I needed to change clothes for my business meeting. They did not mention that had I waited 20 minutes there would be no charge. 'Company policy', the refuge of cowards.
Pros: Fast check-in. Very clean room, beds were comfortable. Good price for one night stay.
Cons: Had to call twice for the shuttle to pick us up at the airport. It took about 45 minutes. Being remodeled so the restaurant looked like a temorary set up with a some square bare tables and an electric food server on the counter. The "bar" was a ledge near the lobby with 2 beer taps and not a soul in site. Places to eat were about 5 miles down the highway.
Pros: Location is everything! The price was adequate. The room was clean and quiet.

Pros: The burger restaurant on site was great. Although, everytike someone opened the patio door a cloud of cigarette smoke came billowing in. The stench was a damper on an otherwise great meal.
Cons: The locks to my room door had to be reprogrammed after having my key unsuccessfully recoded three times. I was very tired from traveling, had an early flight, and just wanted to sleep. Inside the room, it looked as though someone had spilled something on the old A/C unit and it was crawling with ants. I was too tired to call down to the desk again, so I just slept in the far bed from the window and did my best to put the ants out of my head so I could sleep.
Pros: Husband and I stayed with our 3 kids, ages 5-14. They loved pancakes at night. I loved having coffee, microwave, and fridge in the room. Breakfast was delicious. Rooms were very clean. The staff was wonderful. Due to some unfortunate circumstances we had to change cities and dates for our stay. They were great about moving the dates the day of our original booked date.
Cons: The only slight down side was the pool was pretty small.
Pros: Location, friendly staff
Cons: Loud humming elevator. Need a new shuttle van.

Pros: From the moment we walked in we were greeted with great customer service, which continued thoughout the whole trip. The restaurants were all very good, the casino was fun and I didn't lose any money!
Cons: There wasn't much I didn't like. I requested a microwave and never got one because they didn't have any available. They instead paid for our breakfast at the diner, so it ended up alight.
Pros: Everything was ok room wise
Cons: They charged my card 25dollars for no reason as a addtional charge. And never got a statement of how the cost was broke down for what. Not happy at all
Pros: Food in restaurants was great! Rooms were very good.
Cons: Lacks space in rooms and proper electrical outlets for charging phones/tablets
Pros: The staff treated us like guilty ID thieves. We were ID'd every time we turned around. I was accused of not being myself. The lady called security to ID me again. It was relentless how they went out of their way to let us know who was in charge.
Cons: I didn't like Sheila at the casino. She was a horrible pit boss and should lose her job.
Featuring a casino, Ameristar Casino Hotel Kansas City puts you within a 10-minute drive of Worlds of Fun. For a bite to eat, guests can check out Horizons Buffet, one of 9 restaurants, which serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. A snack bar/deli and 2 coffee shops/cafés are other highlights, and rooms at this upscale hotel offer up nice touches like comfy beds and MP3 docks.
Pros: The staff are very helpful and friendly. Our room was clean and quiet, and I got the best sleep I have ever had in a hotel, usually my biggest complaint about hotel rooms. Perfect location, will definitely be back!
Cons: Nothing! Everything was perfect!
Pros: Lobby bar and breakfast staff were excellent!
Cons: No longer have valet parking, garage narrow, dark. Even though we were paying $170 plus for room weren't able to claim points because we booked using Expedia! When we checked in room was very small, we've stayed here several times so we know the room sizes, & warm. Turned the air down & left for the evening. When we returned thought it was still warm, turned air to 60. Woke during night because it was warm. When I looked out window next morning realized the window was open several inches, causing the warm & humid room!! Room was never vacuumed during stay, linens were grayish not white, I have pictures. Remote didn't work. All in all I was very disappointed since I was the one to reserve the rooms for a reunion. We stayed here in 2009 and everything was wonderful, not this time. I felt this was a Sheraton!
Pros: The staff was very pleasant to us during out stay, we were on our honeymoon. They even gave us wine and some comped drink tickets to the hotel bar. Overall the facilities were great and we would probably stay their again.
Cons: We had called down to get some plates and silverware to use to eat some of our leftovers from dinner, 45 minutes later I had to call down again since we still hadn't received anything, they were then delivered by two security guards not even hotel staff. The gentleman at the front desk was very apologetic to us about having to wait that long.

Cons: Only one person at the front desk, check in and check out took a long time.
Pros: This hotel has the makings of a great place to stay. We really enjoyed the backyard courtyard. It's a nice green space surrounded by all the city concrete. The staff were wonderful, helpful, and very nice. The breakfast was amazing and I probably didn't pay enough for that aspect of the stay.
Cons: The lobby definetely needs work, but I would only be fair to mention it is currently under renovation. We also were stuck in the elevator for about 15 minutes after just arriving at the hotel.
Pros: Great hotel The Staff there was really helpful, great location to go to the Plaza, or Westport 10 minutes walking time they have a shuttle if you are not into walking, or even the metro bus is right outside take you straight to power and light, or plaza.
The rooms were very clean as well relaxing, and everything you needed was there. place is very secure at nights.
oh the room the breakfast was awesome Blueberry waffles, among all your other stuff for breakfast! I will defiantly stay there again recommend as well to ever need a room for the night in K.C. Props to the girl who works at nights help me unlock my rooms restroom door that locked by itself.
Cons: The rooms restroom doors have locks, that can lock you out? but the staff got it unlock quickly.
Pros: I've been here on multiple occasions and been happy with each experience. Friendly staff close to the plaza.
Pros: Oh my goodness! From the moment we stepped out of the car and walked through the beautiful secluded garden patio, to the moment we stepped in the door and were greeted and invited to enjoy free margaritas - the staff did everything to ensure our stay was wonderful. Upgraded room for free- plus we returned from dinner to find a bottle of champagne chilling with a note from the staff wishing us a Happy Anniversary. Wonderful breakfast- close walking distance to the Art Museum and The Plaza. We will be coming back here again!
Pros: Location is convenient to the Plaza, Westport, and downtown. Room was nice. Staff was helpful.
Cons: It was perfect for my needs. They are in the midst of updating, but I was not inconvenienced and did not notice any problems with noise.
Pros: We stayed at the Spa Room and the Jacuzzi was wonderful.
Cons: Paid way too much for the value of our experience. Both hotel clerks were ditzy, locking us out of our room and the lobby several times. I called 3 different times that night before arrival to verify availability and features and every time it was a different story even though it was the same clerk. They had extremely loud maintenance at 8am with hammers and drills right next to our room that went on till we left at 11. I read on reviews that the breakfast was disappointing and they were right... It was very basic and very low quality considering you paid for a $170 room. I thought the robes would be better quality as well, but it looks like they came from the dollar store. The highlight of this visit was that it was right near the Plaza and we enjoyed the Jacuzzi. Everything else was disappointing.
Cons: Housekeeping wasn't the greatest. Didn't even pick up all of our used towels the first day. But, all the staff I interacted with were very nice and helpful.
Pros: Pretty nice rooms, nice property, very conveniently located near plaza shopping area, free Wifi, free breakfast - and not just some fruit and cereal. They had a gourmet breakfast every morning that included eggs, cereal, fruit, hash browns, a waffle station, etc. Staff was very friendly.
Cons: Parking kind of sucked. We had to find a spot on the street the first night.
Pros: It seems like an older hotel (compared the Marriott one block away). But it was clean and fair exchange for the price. Only a half mile from a ton of restaurants. Close to downtown, but not in the center of downtown.
Cons: No dislikes.
Pros: The friendly staff :)
Cons: The rain :)
Pros: This was a get away for us as our second baby is due in 2 months. Grandma stayed with our oldest and we enjoyed the whirlpool in the room.
