Overview of Iran Air

All of Iran Air’s services are controlled from a hub in Tehran. Flights are scheduled to more than 35 locations across Iran, as well to neighboring nations Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Lebanon and Turkey. Services are also available to Europe and West Asia. In total, more than 15 countries across the globe are reached, making it one of the major links between the Middle East and the rest of the world.

Passengers can choose between Economy and Business Class when flying with Iran Air. The standard fare provides a generous baggage allowance of 30 kg (approximately 66 lb) and seats with 31 in of legroom. In Business Class, you’ll find upholstered black leather seats and adjustable headrests. Personal reading lights and international power sockets ensure that you can easily stay occupied while onboard.

Owned in majority by the Iranian Government, it is recognized as the national flag carrier and uses a mythical griffin as its logo. This famous bird is featured on the tail of the airline’s fleet. A wide variety of Airbus, ATR, Fokker and McDonnell Douglas aircraft are flown by Iran Air. The twin turboprop ATR 72 series are some of the most commonly operated for domestic services, while larger jets, such as the Airbus A320 that can carry up to 156 commuters, are chosen for international journeys.

Codeshare agreements are held with a number of large international carriers, including Turkish Airlines, Lufthansa, Aeroflot and Austrian Airlines. This provides customers with a wider-spanning network of flights and smoother connections on long trips.
