9.6 Excellent
Pros: The room was clean and relax, breakfast was very good, the view and the aura in the hotel is perfect.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Lovely, huge property, each room is actually a cottage (big rooms, with lots of space) and the tasteful design made it that the bathroom is another interior cottage. All amenities are provided and the property is tastefully decorated in colonial style, it has a pool, big garden, bar area. The staff is very approachable, explained us lots of things, offered advice and details on what to see in the area, especially in Kruger (Skukuza camp - Lower Sabie - Crocodile Bridge route). Also, advance communication was really good, staff sent us very detailed instructions on which roads to take to get to the property, info on which roads have tolls etc. We also had dinner at the property (notified them in advance that we wanted dinner, we paid separately for it) - which was great, 3 course menu with fish as a starter, ostrich steak as main and ice cream as desert, just perfect! Free parking, security guards 24/7 at the entrance and some monkeys wondering around. Very relaxing atmosphere, I would recommend this lodge!
Cons: Just be aware that due to the drought in the last few years, the river bed changed and various sediments now infiltrate the water (from the tap, shower, toilet etc) - water is totally safe, drinkable, soft, but it looks dirty, it has minerals in it which give it a brownish colour, which doesn’t look great. Again, it’s nothing to worry about and it’s nothing the Lodge can do about it (it’s in the whole area), but just be aware and don’t get scared. From the main road, it’s about 2km drive to the property - the “road” is marked, but the bush is quite high (we went in Jan), so it could be a bit tricky to drive in a small car, maybe if they cut the bush in the centre of the “road” it could be easier.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was good. They serve eggs, mushroom and bacon as hot plate. Everything is tasty and good. Location is great. Nice and quite place to relax. Very good located very close to most activities around. Perfect value for the price.

Cons: TV in the rooms is not there......I wish they could do something about that. Instead of having to go and watch it in the main room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners and stuff are super friendly! It was so warm and welcoming. Our comfort was their main proitority. Their food was amazing. The rooms are extremely clean. I really enjoyed my stay here!!!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Because of our relatively long stay we were upgraded to the very large and comfortable self-catering unit (including breakfast!) which is a replica of a Zulu-dwelling. We received some basic information over a Welcome Drink but a lot more tips, advice and interesting information are given during the daily "happy hour" get-togethers. Most guests will stay for a few nights and visit the Kruger Park (the Phabeni Gate is around the corner) and do the Panorama Route but for golfers like us this place is also perfectly located with two beautiful courses very close by and a few more not too far away. Philip, the owner, may even challenge you for a round but don't be fooled by his presentation as a hacker! The place itself is very well kept, lovely beds and bedlinen and nice bathroom accessories. The breakfast is very good too. Margi and Philip do their utmost to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible and they definitely succeed in doing this. We can highly recommend this home away from home; we came as guests and left as friends.
Cons: A very small drawback is the dark (but very clean) swimming pool and grassy sit-out area which initially look less than inviting but that is only the first impression. The Wi-Fi in the room was a bit irregular/weak at times.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A very comfortable and quaint accommodation. Absolutely enjoyed staying there. Thanks Phil and Margi for your hospitality and organising the Kruger Safari tour . Cheers
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A little bit of paradise. We really enjoyed our stay and made to feel very welcome. Breakfast was excellent and the packed breakfast on our safari day was lovely and provided in a cooler bag with ice block to keep it cool for us, nice touch. Rooms were lovely exactly as photo local advice for restaurants etc was very much appreciated and we had some lovely meals .Thanks Maggi, Phil and staff for making our stay very pleasant.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved our stay at the Blue Jay Lodge. Margi and Phil did everything to male us feel comfortable and booked all our safaris for us, even in the late afternoon just before the day of the safari. Thank you for everything. It‘s a familial place where you have the chance to relax and have your private space and at the same time get the chance to have a drink and chat with Margi and Phil and the other guests.
Cons: the only thing which might be ‚negative‘ is that the pool couldn‘t be used at the time we stayed there but we also didn‘t need it
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a good option to stay if you are not looking to be inside the park. Phil and Maggie are very nice hosts, and the accommodations are above expectations. The place is near the park and it is possible to book games with a partner company, which is also very good and picks you up at the hotel. The breakfast was quite good. Would recommend!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely, spacious room, great location very close to Phabeni Gate, delicious breakfast, but the highlight is the owners - what incredible hosts! Thank you for having us!

3.0 Mediocre
Pros: Quiet location. Phillip the guy who did everything.
Cons: Arrived to no WiFi, TV or water pressure to have a shower. TV not fixed for our entire stay of 3 nights. Water pressure issue happened twice, first time we were told there was a burst pipe, so understood. The second time there was no excuse. Owner offered me 300 rand cash back (about £15 of a £210 bill. I refused and told him to at least double it, he did. The owner left Phillip to do everything, we received no apology for the problems.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff are amazing, friendly, helpful and gave an excellent service. It felt like home away from home. The place is beautiful. Will definitely go back.
Cons: Wi-fi a bit up and down but sure it's the provider not the guesthouse.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good breakfast; Easy to get around the area from the guest house
4.0 Okay
Pros: We loved the quiet neighborhood. The room was very clean and comfortable - good shower!
Cons: Unfortunately we had issues as payment was deducted wrong.Mistakes can happen - we were told the money would be returned the following day. It took them a week to let us know that the money was actually returned to our card. During this time we worried this could be a hoax as we had to move on and just trust them to do it....this caused us to be very anxious and did not help to build trust in the management. It is a little sad that the doors to the lounge room are closed early when few guests are staying - you must then sit outside or in your room. Wifi was first not working - only after we insisted was this fixed after a day.
8.3 Excellent
Cons: Breakfast

Pros: Everything about this place exceeds expectations. The location is stunning. It’s a relaxing and refreshing place to escape to and worth the price to pay along the majestic Sabie River. Very tranquil and peaceful and a delight of a farm. The Check-in starts at the gate and 2km drive away is a parking lot to the hotel where you will have someone waiting with friendly smiles to take your bags to your room whilst you head to reception for Admin and paper work. After Admin you get escorted to your room by security who also briefs you on safety routine. Also, your bags are also waiting in these beautiful Luxury tents surrounded by trees and streams and sounds from nature. The dinning area is exquisite. The food is delicious. I went to do a run in the morning and I followed their MTB trail in the farm and it was so lovely. I also did their full body massage and it was glorious. I missed out on their breakfast which was a bummer , but next time I’ll plan my morning better as I see on the hotel brochure they raved about not missing their amazing breakfast. All in all, everyone who works is so friendly. I even received a call on my way there checking if I was okay and if I needed any assistance as they were aware I was coming alone from Johannesburg. The hospitality at Summerfields is shining example to the industry of what outstanding service is. Thank you to the staff who were exceptional, from the security, to the room service ladies, to the reservation office and staff at the spa and restaurant-you are amazing. Thank you.

Pros: We stayed in the honeymoon suite. It was amazing and clean. Some bugs in the room but manageable. Food was excellent and service was first class. The hotel organized our private safari at Kruger, they picked us up from the hotel and provided breakfast packs to go. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Pros: The attention to detail obvious to any visitor sets this property apart. There is lots to commend and almost nothing negative to say. Great location, great facilities, great breakfast, very clean, lots of little extra touches. Friendly and efficient staff.
Cons: American style crispy bacon
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Margrit was very friendly and helped us from the moment we arrived till we left. The lodge oversees a farm with a great view. Guest rooms are clean and well equipped with everything you might need. They open directly to the garden where there are tables and chairs for relaxation. There is also a common area where breakfast is served in the morning and afternoon cake, it has a fireplace which they lit after dark that gives a homey and lovely atmosphere to the place. Margrit arranged for us a safari tour with an awesome guide (Trevor). She gave us good recommendations for restaurants and sightseeing around the area. We loved our stay at Abangane Guesthouse and would highly recommend it.
Cons: The road that connects the lodge to the main gate is one-way and not easy to drive using a small car.

Pros: The rooms are spacious and nice The outside shower is nice. The poolarea is nice.
Cons: The inside bathroom requires a refit and is bit old. There is a minibar but it was empty.
