They had 1 person working and took about 15 minutes to check in each customer. The line was wrapped around the lobby. It took longer to fly than it did to wait in the line. We and others eventually had to leave without picking up our car. They probably do this on purpose. Do not rent from them even if the price looks right!!! Unless you have half a day to spare waiting in line.

Everything about this experience, aside from the employees assisting us, was absolutely abysmal. - The wait to check in was over an hour and the desk was terribly understaffed (a single person the entire time). - The wait to get to the vehicles was also over an hour, in a poorly organized area and combined with Budget and Avis rentals. Again, the team was terribly understaffed but competent, patient, and helpful. - The wait to have the vehicle checked (for what, I am still not sure) was unnecessary and could be consolidated when provisioning the vehicles or at the exit gate. - The wait to exit the garage was also unnecessarily long. As you just read, there were four separate lines that everyone was required to be a part of and limited staff to support an easily planned for influx in rentals. This was a failing of organization and planning on both the airport and Avis/Budget/Payless.

I normally use National and it’s easy to just got grab an available car. Budget had a lot of people waiting with now real ETA. I waited at least 20-30 minutes with a reservation but some were waiting more than an hour or two.

Pick up was efficient , car was great. Lot easy to navigate. The drop off went smoothly they only issue was getting my emailed receipt, this has been a problem several times when I have rented from budget. , I have had to call and they always say they don’t have my email address which is a lie since they send me emails ALL THE TIME. And the staff can’t answer why this keeps happening and can’t transfer me to anyone who can tell my why it happening because apparently I’m the only one who has this problem (I asked them that specifically)

We reserved a car in my partners name and paid for it with a credit card in my name. But when we got there they would not allow us to have a car because the card name and the driver name had to match. And they couldn’t change the name on the reservation. So we had to cancel and do a new reservation which took quite a bit of time.

I was charged twice for this rental! I was charged by car rentals.com for pre payment at time of reservation and again at time of rental $527.27. Now they are both pointing the finger at each other as to who will do the right thing and refund me. I’m going to see if my CC company can help me

Pros:

I liked selecting and booking my rental through the online services.

Cons:

I did not like that I could not make changes or that customer service stated they could not make changes and I had to call Fox or Priceline to make changes to the purchase. This could have been avoided if there was an option for the consumer to cancel or make changes just as easy as it is to the purchase.

Absolutely terrible! Got to the rental center and the dollar check in line had 40-45 people ahead of us with 3 check in people. We waited for 10!mins and when the line didn’t even move we walked away and never rented the car. It would have taken us about 1.5 hrs to get to the front of the line. Car was pre paid and non refundable so lost the money on the car. Every other car rental company had 2-5 people in the line.

They’re terrible with customer service. Due to unforeseen global outages on 7/19, my flight was delayed and I arrived at the airport late. I was told over the phone that my minivan was no longer available and that I would have to pay more to accommodate my guests and I. I attempted to cancel the reservation and proceeded to book through another company. The reservation is still active through the app and now I’m being told I may not be refunded for services I never even used. Sadly disappointed in NU car rental and will never do business with them again. I felt disrespected and devalued as a customer when the situation was completely out of my hands.

The car was great it’s the customer service that was unprofessional. The agent was not friendly.. she added more fees than I requested had not because I was paying attention to what she was adding on my bill I would not have caught it. It would have been $100 more. Price was low for a reason. Service was terrible. After long check in process I wait for my car only to see it has no gas. And it's scratched and dented all over. And then after I check out I realize they added some fees that were not clearly told to me... I called and they said it was a prepaid fuel tax of 20% which was never told to me. Complete nonsense.

I didn’t like a thing. They were in an inconvenient location. They took an hour to check me in and then the car wasn’t ready so waited another half hour just to be told the car hatch was broken. Then they proceeded to give me a filthy car with the most foul smell inside. Inside was disgusting with stains and ripped carpet. So very disappointed and would NEVER use them or recommend them to anyone!!!

Cons:

There was confusion regarding the class of vehicle. We had a luxury class vehicle reserved and I believe we only got a premium class vehicle. We dropped the car at Las Vegas Airport instead of a hotel which was 3 miles from the airport. Enterprise wants to charge me another $300.00 drop off fee in addition to the original $400 for a one-way charge!

My experience with Avis was fine. But my experience with Kayak was not. When I searched for a car rental, I found a number of cars available for roughly $150 a day. Then there was the "manager's choice" car at Avis, which was listed at $155.54 -- total. I naturally booked that, and received an email that appeared to confirm that the total price was $155.54. As it turned out, that was false, and I wound up paying $518.42. I am not happy about that. My only gripe with Avis is that I wound up renting an electric car, but received no advice about where to charge it. I ultimately tried two charging stations, one of which was going to take 12 hours to charge, and was nowhere near where I was staying, and the other one of which was a "fast charge" station that could only charge one car at a time, and it was in use. So I was never able to charge the car.

Everything was super good, except at the pick up counter, there was very long lines, the wait time was around one hour, and 45 minutes, people in the line were complaining about the long wait, you definitely should get more staff to help with the long lines to get the wait time down

When I arrived in Arizona, I made a reservation to go back home. I did it through the Internet and the Internet gave me the wrong dates. I ran to the airport because it was a Sunday. The only place that was open was the airport the guy at the airport I don’t remember his name. I told him that I made a reservation that I need to cancel it because the date was wrong. He said no problem. He would cancel it. I try to get a car to rent, but I only had my debit card The company does not take a debit card the rest of my cards I could not use, so young guy promised he would cancel reservation . Well, he didn’t and I kept getting emails. Finally I called the company after half hour finally someone came to the phone. The girl said no problem. She’ll cancel it for me that it was not canceled. Hopefully my card wasn’t charged so I’m not happy about the whole ordeal because I was promised it was gonna be canceled and it wasn’t and not only that the screen was open left open. I did ask him to close the screen. He said it was fine, so I’m hoping that my credit cards are not in the web somewhere

3:30 am drop off at Sky Harbor and no Hertz employees there to receive us. We just parked car in a slot and went to plane. I had to call Hertz to tell them where we parked it so i wouldn't get docked for being late.

They did not have a vehicle for me when I got there. They upgraded my car for free, but then as I was filing out paperwork, being told, “We have someone watching your car,” another customer walked up and took it. We eventually got a vehicle, but wasn’t super impressed.

The lighting was so bad in the underground pick-up "choose a car" area that I felt I was choosing a car by braille. As it happened, I chose a vehicle with damage to the bumper area--which was not stated in my copy of the rental agreement. When I turned the car back in they said that I would be charged for it unless their cameras recorded the pre-existing damage. What a relief to eventually be proven "not guilty"!

Every National employee we encountered was friendly, warm, helpful and understanding -- which was all very appreciated considering the travel-related stress we'd been under the day we had to rent a vehicle to get home. That said, $300+ for a one-night one-way rental felt a bit exploitative when so many people were stranded by airlines during the holiday travel weeks.
