You guys at Kayak, Expedia and Hertz screwed up big time. While you showed us a confirmed reservation, upon arriving at the rental facility, Hertz staff informed us that they didn’t have any vehicles available for our rental and that Expedia and Kayak causes this issue frequently for them. We had a day planned in Portland but due to lack of rental car, we couldn’t do anything around town.

I searched for Portland airport and I was given a rental car 20 min off site from the airport, this caused massive problems. With getting it and dropping off. The customer service from hertz was THE WORST. I was struggling 3 or more times to call for various issues, it took more than 30 min plus to get a person on the phone each time and each time they were not helpful. My plane was delayed through no fault of my own obviously and they almost didn’t hold my rental agreement. When I asked to move the place of return (again another 30 min on hold ) I was going to be charged another $160. So even tho I got a deal through a third party, getting to and from cost me another $100 in Uber fees. Ridiculous and I have never used hertz and I won’t again

This was the worst rental car experience of my life. I would like a refund. I had an 11 AM pick up scheduled. It was 2 PM and my car was still not ready with no timeframe of how much longer I would have to wait finally I had to call an Uber to go back to the airport to go get a car with thrifty, the workers were as nice as can be expected but they said they had no cars. I offered to take any car that they had even though I had rented an SUV. I said it did not have to have gas Norby washed, but they said they still cannot accommodate I have probably rented 50 to 100 cars in my life including quite a few post Covid. and this was by far the experience

Terrible I spoke to them several times throughout the day before I showed up to get my rental car and I was told that first they didn't have the car that I was had originally rented and then they didn't have the second car that they said that they would have for me in place of the first one and then when I got down there they refused to accept my card that I had that I had told them several times during the day that I was going to be using and that I had held the reservation with so I ended up not getting in the car at the last minute and had to go find somewhere else to get a car and I'm very upset about it it all stemmed from the fact that they were closing at the time of my pickup and they didn't want to deal with me pretty much it was quite obvious how they felt

Cons:

Overall we had a great experience. The car was excellent and we received great value for our rental dollar. The agency in Portland closes at 3:00 and we barely made it by that deadline. That may be the reason, but the customer service and professional attitude of the agency was lacking. I would still use Enterprise in Portland because overall the deal for a good car was a great value.

Pros:

Convenient shuttle to and from airport. Easy drop off.

Cons:

Pick was difficult because they demanded to see my flight itinerary and flight confirmation # to guarantee I would bring the vehicle back. Someone else had booked the flight, so I wasn't prepared for that, but it worked out. Just a heads up, if you use a "debit" card, have proof of your flight plan

Pros:

Staff members were friendly, and there wasn't too much pressure to pay for upgrades, though they were offered. Our car was nice and worked well for us.

Cons:

The pickup experience was a little hectic and the wait was a little longer than I would've liked.

Sixt office is small in DTP, but the mighty duo Shawn and Nate were amazing. Quite a force they are, a little wait with good concerned service is all OK. Cars were limited so I got an expensive upgrade to a BMW X5, unnamed credit card but the experience of driving to the coast and mighty Columbia was all worth it.

Cons:

At drop off I was automatically charged $184 for gas refill. My initial estimate for the rental was $129.00 for 2 days. $184 for a tank of gas? Had to make an extra stop to the customer service desk just to get it credited. What a waste of time to be a preferred member. Never again.

Too many cars at one time and it was backed up so many that people were leaving them which made me leave mine. Should have been better organized.

The line to pick up the car took about an hour & a half. The car smelled of cigarettes, had not been washed with bugs on the windshield, had crackers on the floor, dirt & dust on the dashboard and dry mud on the back of the front passenger seat. Clearly the car wasn’t serviced - we would have gone back to the counter but it was still a mob scene. Truly the worst rental car experience ever!

The car had a bad smell so I had to buy an air freshener. Not ideal having passengers or giving the car to valet when there’s a stench like that.

They were absolutely terrible . The Avis at the airport sent me downtown which I had to pay for just for the store downtown to tell me they did not have the vehicle that the airport did. Then then said they had another vehicle I could use. Then they told me they could not rent to me unless I had a major credit card even though I had made my reset two months prior. I was stuck at the airport with 8 month triplets for four hours until I could rent from somewhere else

They were out of compact cars and "upgraded" me to a mid-size. It was for a long trip and gas milage killed my budget. Ah well.

Price was very good. Car was a good car for my time in the area. Car was very dirty and had scratches on the right door. I took a photo on my phone, and wrote down on the form regarding scratches, and was told I could drop it off before or after renting the car. I went to do it before I left, and the line was so long that people were pushed back outside the very small office in which 15 people were now ahead of me. Decided to drop it off when I returned the car, which I did.
