Cork hotels near Beamish and Crawford

Cons: The hotel is hard to find. Even the GPS struggled to get us there. Old world atmosphere, with some unusual and welcome additions; a bottle of whisky at the reception desk to parch the thirst and ease the frustration of locating the place. Another fun touch, a putter and play practice green in the room. It is a nice place but would I stay there again? probably not. It's the little things that matter in a hotel and the dinning reception left us cold. We made dinner reservations and showed up on time, appropriately dressed, only to be kept waiting while others streamed by, were welcomed, and seated. Eventually,We were placed in a back room at what must have been the worst table in the place, center stage, traffic area in a room surrounded by cozy booths. The Food and service excellent, but the second rate treatment left a bad taste. So we move on, to a better experience somewhere else.

Cons: We had to book online at the last minute. Booked 3 rooms for 3 adult family couples. When we got there we realized with the rooms given, no way to tell online, we could get away with 2 rooms as they were big rooms. We asked to change and weren't allowed because of the online booking. Also one day of the rooms assigned was a smoking room that smelled very strongly of cigarettes, again asked to change and weren't allowed to. Rooms were quite pricey as well, the most expensive night on our 2 week vacation was at this hotel. Had breakfast the next morning and one room came with breakfast, no idea why?

Cons: Great overall. Slow service in lobby area for the lobby menu was only complaint.

Cons: Massage chairs in cinema not working Food in restaurant not too great

Cons: The room was on the warm side and the only bedding was a duvet. We prefer a sheet with a blanket.

Cons: Bedrooms were very dated and needed renovation, unbearably hot, tv with very bad picture (old bulky tv) paint peeling off bathroom ceiling and nigh on impossible to get mixer tap for shower to give right temperature!

Cons: The rooms need fans or something .

Cons: The breakfeast staff (one male in particular) could do with training on who to talk to and deal with guests.

Cons: No fault of theirs but to walk from train it’s best to be part mountain goat. Hotel is on a big hill ( and I mean big) overlooking town. We taxied the luggage up the hill with as many passengers as would fit and the rest of us hiked up the road. Very steep!

Cons: Elevators could do with some sprucing up and the jolt with which they stop on reaching your floor can easily raise an eyebrow. Food is only available at set times in the restaurant. I had a late start on Sunday morning and there was little available.

Cons: No air conditioning. The lift was being worked on so we had to take the stairs with several bags.

Cons: No lift. Facilities and amenities are awkward or dated. You'll see what I mean.
