The room was clean Small rooms for the price...... Paying to park...
Lobby and rooms were well decorated. The hotel is in close proximity to Warehouse Row and about a mile from the Aquarium and arts district. Kids loved the indoor pool even if it was small. The hotel could have been somewhat cheaper. We didn't eat here because the prices were just as high or more than top restaurants in town. The shower pressure was obnoxiously strong. We stood in a pool of water because it couldn't drain fast enough. Rooms are nice but a bit tight for a whole family.
The room was very nice and the beds were comfortable. Having the sauna, steam room and pool/hot tub included with the stay made the price of the hotel worth it. Live music and a fireplace in the lobby made the evening relaxing. The cleaning staff was very friendly and helpful. The staff at the spa was not up to par. I have a medical condition and called a week in advance to ask about setting up a spa package that would accommodate my needs. None of my three calls were returned. As for the hotel's restaurant, The Broad Street Grille, was overpriced and the wait staff was terrible. We walked out before ordering because we waiteds so long for service.
Very clean. Friendly staff. Being charged for parking.
Friendly staff, a number of good restaurants nearby, convenient to battlefields
Location Overpriced. Pictures make it look much nicer than it is. Average at best.
Attractive Hotel Good Location Very expensive for the small room we had. Very loud facility - room right by elevators and ice machine and constant foot traffic and loud staff members. The entire hotel was filled with a conference and we were placed in amongst them - many of the facilities were used by the conference. After a late night with lots of loud disturbances we were awoken just after 5 am and forced to evacuate the building. After standing outside for a half hour we were given no explanation on why we had to evacuate other than the 6 fire engines that pulled up - then left shortly after. I'm sure it's a fine hotel - but we just didn't have a good experience.
This was a nice hotel, very beautiful on the inside. Great music in the bar room. Valet was super nice. Our shower had very low water pressure and as a female with long hair, this took forever And was very comfortable . also the shower was clogged so we took showers in a filled bath. When they said they would come fix it right away I thought they meant within the hour, but instead it took about 3-4 hours for the person to show up. By this time we had gone out to eat, and have drinks, go back to the room and start getting ready for bed by the time he showed. The hotel said they couldn't do anything for us because we had gone through price line to get our room, which I have never heard that one before. Room rates were overpriced in my opinion, stayed at a cheap motel that has been the same if not better.
Room was clean and in good shape. Good size tub and shower. Attractive fire pit outside. Door staff was friendly. The garage's lighting was either mostly lacking or not working when we were there. Coffee in the room was poor.
Great facilities and excellent staff. Indoor pool was key for Spring Break. Was not very close to main attractions in the city and not in a very good part of the neighborhood. Not the best place to walk with young children.
The hotel is absolutely gorgeous and the atmosphere was nice and comfortable. The people on staff were nice, always stopped what they were doing to smile and see if you needed help no matter what their job was (painters, staff, etc.). The food in the restaurant was excellent and their breakfast muffins are amazing. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and elegant. The only thing I thought was odd is no one ever offered to help me with my luggage when I arrived or was leaving. I was fine on my own, I'm only making an observation compared to what I usually see at other hotels.
I don't believe after paying over $200 a night, we should have to also pay $8 a day to park our vehicle. The air conditioning in the room wasn't working very well.
Excellent friendly staff. room was small
The hotel was beautiful, extremely friendly and helpful staff.
Everything, the hotel was great. Felt like I was in the 1930s.
Bathroom could use some detail attention, especially the bathtub. Parking is pricey.
They upgraded our room without us asking. They were very helpful with recommendations for breakfast. The pool and fitness center were clean and a nice amenity for the hotel. I would absolutely return. The bathroom was small but clean. It is to be expected from a historic hotel.
It's a beautiful historic place. It's difficult to get around the separate towers. The pool area should be promoted more.
Charming interior and comfortable bed, but not very clean and shows its age.
Location/Pillows/Check-in staff Poor service from valet staff. Constantly locked out of room. Hair on bed/pillows. Dated decor.
I was getting engaged and the staff did absolutely nothing to make it special or give me their time of day to help with improving my moment. Definitely don't expect anything more than a room key from the staff or their attention. I would have expected the staff to be a little more accommodating, but they are definitely not a 4star staff. This hotel has all the potential to be a better hotel, but the staff and no fridge in the room makes it 3 stars.
The decor and carved wood is remarkable!
location downtown was great for our weekend to see and do things around Chattanooga. We saw 2 outdoor concerts in the evening and really enjoy the atmosphere of downtown. No mini refrigerator in the room. Other than that the room, staff and hotel was excellent.
Rooms were spacious but the hotel needs to do a furniture update.
Staff and cleanliness were above average! The fact I could hear everything happening in the hallway including to kids playing some game at 7:30 am on a Sunday and one guest continually knocking on another guests door while saying housekeeping at least 20 times in two morning.
Location to downtown was great Staff complained to each other in front of guests, room was small and even though it was a corner room, it only had 1 window. Only 2 elevators for 15 floors and its shared by the staff (no freight elevators) so wait times were bad. Check-in time was 3pm but room was not ready until 3:45pm. Overall it was "ok" but not what I expect from a DoubleTree.
Just about everything The bar and pool close way to early.
The location was good. The price was FANTASTIC. Overall, our stay was sufficient. They have indoor hotel room entrances and outside entrances. -You can tell it was an older hotel. -Hallway Carpets were dingy. -Toilet seat was old, it was peeling. -There was only a shower, no bathtub. -Even though there was free breakfast, we were in a different building, so we'd have to drive to get breakfast, instead of walking to the lobby. -The pullout couch was awful. Not comfortable at all.
Very clean and well maintained despite being an older building Very friendly staff - desk attendant eagerly handled several customer requests while managing my check in without delay Good value for the money
The front desk staff responded nicely to my complaints of being given a smoking room when non smoking was requested. They comped the room after seeing my displeasure. I did not have to ask for it. The room was smelly. The mirror was so dirty you could hardly see in it. The carpet was dirty. The mattresses were uncomfortable, and the bedskirts had mold on them and had to be removed! Terrible! I would not stay here again and I can't believe Hampton Inn quality has been reduced to such a level!
area small rooms
Sincerely friendly staff from front desk to housekeeping. Close to an upscale mall for shopping and dining. Some rooms have exterior doors and some are on an interior hallway. Ask for what you want.
The bed we slept in was full of bed bugs..I looked at the bed and saw adult bed bugs on the side of the bed very visible...me and my friend have bites all over our bodies and they hurt and itch really bad and still are two days later. We had to check out n wash n dry all our clothes and suitcases etc etc...the front desk was very calm and non chalant about giving us our money back. I believe they knew already.... Good food, nice extras like fruit, cookies and 24hr coffee and water bottles. No mini fridge or microwave in our room.
Motel style - old building - not what you expect from Hamton - But the price was good and breakfast too
They offer a fantastic breakfast! There was something for everyone!!!! Made the stay even bettar! There were no issues.
It's was old and needs up dating. The carpet was dirty and had huge stains. The breakfast was not good and one day the bread was moldy. We were there a week and didn't eat there but one day. Usually the Hampton inns are better than that. I was very disappointed.
Our car malfunctioned while we were in Chattanooga and it took us 5 days to remove it as we were 4 hrs from home. The staff at the Hampton Inn was extremely professional and helpful while we tried to remedy the situation long distance. We will give Hampton Inn all our future business!!
It was not a bad hotel, the staff was friendly and the rooms were small but clean. It's not bad if your just staying for a night or two. Would not recommend for a long stay. Wish the beds would of been a little more comfortable, they need to update there beds. The bathroom is very small. Need to refresh the rooms better.
Very nice room - no complaints breakfast was disappointing. Orange juice was made from powder, no coffee or hot water for tea, a typically poor quality motel offering
Pleasant place to stay. Clean room. We had to change rooms because the first one smelled like smoke, but they did it without a problem. Nothing
House keeping left a giant hair ball in the tub and it didn't smell clean. Very small rooms and beds... even smaller bathrooms.
I wanted to find zero hairs on the pillows and sheets and towels, but instead I found at least 10 and stopped counting. There was mystery stains all over the comforter; red and white... There were spots on the towels and the floor was sticky. It obviously had not been cleaned between guests and there's no way those sheets had been changed. The room had clearly been recently "remodeled" but it still felt dirty. Despite the remodeling the overall feel of the hotel and the room was unsettling. My friend and I stayed there for about 6 hours total and that was more than enough. We did bond over our mutual hatred of the room, so if you're looking to get closer to the person you're staying with, this is a good place to go.
Close to many activities. No linen or towel refresh.
Non-smoking floor Moldy, musty odor coming from the ventilation system; low-quality bedding - thin sheets, skimpy blanket, and comforter with holes from cigarette burns
Payal at the front desk. All the staff was friendly to my family and pets. Gave us an upgrade. Room was clean. Would definitely stay there again! It is time for new mattresses. Otherwise I would have trouble finding anything else wrong. A few more choices on the free breakfast bar?
Overall the hotel was nice. My only issue, of which is minor, was that they charge you to park on hotel property. Thought that was just a nickel and dime fee. Besides that, no complaints. Great hotel.
In making a reservation, you expect not to have to wait to get the room you reserved. I had to wait over an hour and a half past check-in time for the room to be cleaned.
Room was small but comfortable. Breakfast was good. Close to downtown so we were able to walk to most locations for dinner and drinks which was very nice. Close to aquarium, ballpark. Had to tell the maid to service the room. Elevator made weird noises so we took the stairs.
Clean room. Great breakfast. Friendly staff. Perfect location near Lookout Mountain and Chattanooga. I feel like I overpaid for this type of hotel, but I had little options on a week's notice.
It's not like other holiday inn express hotels that are nice. It was kind of dirty And my husband had to clean the shower drain just to get water to go down it was so nasty!!! Also- the breakfast is mostly all microwaved food like microwaved eggs, bIscuits ect. The pool was so gross you couldn't see the bottom and it was freezing. Who doesn't have a heated indoor pool? It was so cold my kids couldn't swim The front staff were nice.
Location, 24 hour diner and bar walking distance to anywhere! Checkout time should be noon!!!
We had the most comfortable mattress! The best night sleep in a hotel ever! Very clean! Parking was tricky on a Friday night due to shared parking lot with restaurant and lounge.
the bed was amazing, room was clean and the service was very friendly and accommodating! everything was great!
Nice room. Clean. No issues with the actual facility. There was a group of men that knocked on our door rather loudly around 2:30am. There were apparently intoxicated and quite unruly. Fortunately, the left right before I was going to call the police.
Derrel at the front desk was nice and helpful. Great location, and descent deal with Kayak. No complaints.
Friendly staff, comfortable furniture "Cotton candy" pillows that disappear when you put your head on them.
The bedding, the pool area didn't overwhelm with a chlorine smell. Modern interior. The mini fridge in the room was unplugged, not sure how long, so it stunk pretty bad.
the pillows suck
Pool was nice and warm for the kids, the location was awesome- right next to the museum and a very short wall to the aquarium. The staff was helpful and the breakfast was nice ($10 per adult, kids 6 and under free). We used roomservice one night for dinner because our infant was too tired to go out. Very convenient and very good. The staff was always SO helpful Parking was $8 per day, and the overflow lot was across the street in a parking garage. The first room we checked in to was nice, but someone had used the restroom and CLOGGED THE TOILET (gross!!!!) before we even got in there. The front desk was going to send someone to clean it right away, but 30 mns later we gave up waiting and asked for another room. Overall the room was 'clean-ish'. But when I check into a hotel, I really expect it to be VERY CLEAN.
The sink worked Whirlpool nasty / walkin shower did not work / I took my wife on a date once a month we do something different, suite w/ balcony hotel was very disappointing , an pricee, Marriott next time . Cleaning lady should have know shower was broke / filled the whirlpool up cut it on black dirt came out of jets,
Excellent service and close to everything downtown
The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly! Our room was cleaned every day and we were given plenty of towels. The location of the hotel is perfect if you are planning on taking advantage of all downtown has to offer. We were not traveling with children but it would be the perfect location to stay with kids. The hotel had a pool, fitness center and steps away from the aquarium, discovery center, rock climbing, and river. We plan to come back to visit Chattanooga and stay at the Hilton. Extra bonus- parking was included! We parked our car at check in and never used it until we left. The AC unit was loud and they did not have a safe in the room.
Very friendly and helpful staff, great breakfast, good location. Bar area had no atmosphere.
The convenient location to the Riverwalk, Acquarium and UTC made the decision easy to stay Hilton. The staff honored my request for a balcony room on the sixth floor and it was wonderful for relaxing in the early morning or at night!
The location was really great. 2 Blocks to the aquarium and great restaurants. The room was mediocre. The 'king' bed was small. Bathroom was also just mediocre. Did not seem work the rate we paid.
Comfortable beds, friendly staff, great view from the hotel Not much for breakfast, very dirty floors in rooms, sticky food/drink on side table and long desk.
The front desk staff was very helpful and friendly, even though I was grumpy at our discount website for not sending our reservation yet for the hotel to be able to access. The A/C in our room was very noisy in the evening but seemed to have gotten all the rattles out by the morning; I was too tired and it was too late to ask for service on it, and based on the friendliness of the staff we did encounter during check-in, I'm sure we would have gotten prompt and courteous service, it just wasn't worth the hassle at the time. I expected the room to be a little less dank and "old" smelling and newer furnishings and bedding for the price we were paid.
Room had all the basic amenities, hair dryer, iron, microwave, large screen TV, comfortable beds. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. They provided a simple yet adequate breakfast with hot oatmeal, cold cereal, toast, yogurt, and hot coffee. Parking was an issue. Second night I returned late and had to park a long distance from my room. This was mostly due to a pickup towing a trailer that had taken up five spaces by itself.
There wasn't t a whole lot to like view was nice. Breakfast was okay. There was sitting for everyone at breakfast. Room was not very clean. Smelled musty there were stains on bedspread. Didn't t like outside entrance. I feel not enough info about hotel is given when you book a room.
Nice room clean what I expected May want to look at putting some weatherstripping around the door could see light around door when I got up in the night
Rooms have been remodelled! Clean and comfortable! Great value! Will stay here again!
Location, price Noisy, traffic sounds, granola as a topping instead of breakfast. Watery oatmeal
When we first arrived for the weekend, they couldn't find our reservation. When they finally got us a room key, we get to our room to find it blazing hot with no air conditioner running. We get the AC going and I got to the bathroom to change clothes and wash my face. I wet my face and pick up a hand towel only to see that it has brown poop stains all over it. I cannot make this crap up... I freak out , so me and my husband stark looking around the room to see what else is wrong. They toilet and bathtub were dirty and the bed sheets had not been changed!! There was makeup stains on the pillows and hair in the bed! So we go to the lobby and they finally get us another room. They did not give us a discount, and the second room was much better because it had bugs in it. If it was not for the fact that it was midnight on a Friday night, and we had to be up early next morning to start setting up for a wedding, we would have gotten another hotel. WORST HOTEL STAY OF MY LIFE. DO NOT WASTE ONE PENNY ON THIS DUMP. and lastly, when we were checking out, the manager who was there that Sunday morning and actually spoke English was really rude when we were telling her about our terrible experience there. She kept cutting my husband off when he was explaining what had happened when we checked in. She obviously didn't want us talking about our experience out loud in the lobby in front of the other guest. DO NOT STAY HERE! And I'm pretty sure there were prostitutes knocking on our neighbors door late that night because there was some pretty scary biker guys next door to us and they were loud. From now on I will spend more money to stay at a Hilton hotel, not a crap hole like this!!! I didn't like anything about this place. It was filthy and the people who worked here were EXTREMELY RUDE.
Great location if you have a scheduled event at the convention center. Good amenities. Bed was uncomfortable. Man at check in was working on computer and told me to what a minute. After several minutes (5-7), when a supervisor came out of the back and asked if I needed help, he then stopped what he was doing to help me.
The staff was very helpful. Room was very clean and quiet. Breakfast was excellent.
The friendly staff. The fact that they charged me for parking in THEIR parking lot.
Rooms were very clean, staff was friendly, and the location was within walking distance to many of Chatanooga's best attractions. Great experience. Nothing
Arrived avlittle late free soup and salad bar available friendly staff safe parking
nothing I don't even know where to start this place is simply a train wreck. To start my card was charged double and I was promised it would be fixed, it still hasn't. The heat didn't work the water in the shower wouldn't get cold it was only scorching hot.....!!
The location was perfect. Walking distance of the aquarium, restaurants, and bars. There was a little renovation going on so from time to time a heard a little drilling.
Great location, plenty of food choices within walking distance.
It was very clean. Staff was nice and friendly. Location was great. Design was beautiful. No.
This guest did not leave comments about this hotel.
The staff was incredible! Tony and Neill at the front desk, as well as Marvin in the food service area, went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and take care of any needs! I didn't have time this trip to enjoy downtown, but the location is perfect for enjoying all Chattanooga has to offer!
The staff and location were excellent. No pool or fitness center as advertised; they were under construction/renovation
Staff was awesome, food was great! Very clean! I had to leave to soon!
There was a lot of places you walk to
Great location in fun area. Front desk staff was pleasant when we arrived. Patio outside the room. Very run down facilities. Black mold around the air vent, peeling paint in the room. Seemed dingy overall. They didn't tell us about the $7 parking fee until we checked out. Very overpriced for the condition and quality of the hotel. (We paid $121)
Staff was friendly and location was nice for access to restaurants and bars Hotel needs updating and maintenance . Single serve shampoo and conditioner were both partially used... glad I paid kayak price, not full price. Comparable to a $60 a night elsewhere.
Price was decent and the location was good being I was going to be in downtown the entire trip. Staff was nice and helpful. Standard room had a strange smell to it, like mildew or something. Random, cheap pictures of train related images on the walls. I bought a candy bar from the machine and just the heat from the machine itself made the bar melt and not really worth eating.
The historic site was really interesting. Loved seeing the old trains and the depot. Dinner in the pizza rail car was fun. Very unique setup! Breakfast buffet closed one hour earlier than published on their website. Normal room prices are too high...wouldn't have stayed without the deal through Kayak. They charge an extra $7 per day for parking, which always bugs me at a hotel...they know you have to park so it really shouldn't be an extra charge in my opinion.
Great location in Chattanooga and beautiful gardens and hotel facilities. The buffet breakfast was very poor. The food was slightly cold and tasted stale with very little variety for a "buffet".
This was probably once a awesome hotel! We did have a good price. The free shuttle to the river was nice. Building 3 is old. The pool was dirty with bugs- overall glad we had the experience. If they really do renovate it could be totally awesome.
The location and concert venues It was very rundown and overpriced for what it was. The front desk was very unhelpful
The staff was wonderfully friendly and our room was quiet. It's been a while since I have bought magic beans but I was certainly sold some when I made my reservations for this dump. Perhaps I'm just picky but when I pay $200+ for a traincar room and $100+ for a "double" room, I have some expectations. For example, I would like for those two rooms to be in the same zip code. As we drove past one distressed building after the next, we joked that the traincars must be first class and we were in steerage. We arrived at building #3 and were unsure if we had even rated steerage as the structure looked eerily similar to a penal farm. Thankfully, it was nicer inside than out. Nicer but not what you would expect for the price. Notes-"double" means full sized bed, NOT queen; black substance in crevices of bathroom is NOT soot from a train. I heard after we checked out that there are plans to completely re-do this hotel. If so, maybe those magic beans will grow into something special. Until then, just stop by to see the train stuff if you're a big fan and do yourself a favor by staying at another hotel.
Location and music venue It was really rundown And the Front desk was not very helpful.
Nice location. Nice landscaping Rooms are old and dirty. The shower had hair sitting in the bottom of the drain upon our arrival. The bed was very uncomfortable. The room walls must be made of paper because noise carries very well, and the other guests were loud. My wife and I were barely able to get any sleep as people were running through the halls until 2am. The Choo Choo is interesting, and the location is nice, but I would not stay here again if it was the only hotel in town.
We liked the trains, but thought there would be a model train display or more train themed decorations. The walls were very thin and the staff was not friendly.
Location. Easy to get on the bus and get anywhere It was like staying in a motel. The beds were awful....We woke up early just to get out of there. Pimple juice on the mirror from a previous guest...everything seemed to be falling apart...just needs a face lift...Wish I had spent the extra 30 bucks to stay somewhere else but since the wedding we were attending was in the hotel seemed like the best option.
Very clean and comfortable, excellent breakfast in the bistro ($20 breakfast for $10 when purchased in advance with room). Somehow my room number was charged for a dinner we didn't have. The staff initially disputed this but eventually removed the charge. Also no elevator is a pain but not a huge deal.
Very clean No coke products
Nothing, bad experience. The climate unit in my room went wonky. Was set to cool, but woke up at 3AM covered in sweat with temp in rhe mid 80s and the unit blowing heat ! Called downstairs, was told to come down for keys to another room. In the morning, desk clerk said can't adjust price because I booked through Kayak, offered me a candy bar ! I will never stay there again.
The staff was very friendly. The room was very clean and very comfortable. I will Definately be staying next time I need to go to Chattanooga. Nothing.
Pool was nice. I don't think their was a gym which would have been nice but obviously not a deal breaker.
Location is convenient, close by restaurant etc. Room kinda look old, ex: bathroom toilet/sink looks very old. They can improve customer service a little bit. Customer service when I check in was great, but other are not too helpful sometime for an extra help that won't take 2 seconds to do.
Staff was very friendly and ready to help. The room was very clean and comfortable. The door threshold and door seal were not sufficient. Midnight hallway talk may as well have been in the room with us.
Clean Room, pet friendly, great location for travelers, location convenient to restaurants and stores. No complaints
Fine for one night with two friends. Didn't feel totally safe walking to the car alone, etc.
We liked the price, the location and the fact that breakfast was included. It was also a huge plus that they allow pets with no additional fee. We were there for two nights and our poor dog got a MAJOR flea infestation from the room. She has a flea collar and we have never seen fleas on her in our lives. The management spoke to us with a tone suggesting that we had brought the fleas with us and was not particularly apologetic. We won't be returning. Additionally, the parking lot didn't seem particular secure - I was a bit nervous to take the dog out alone at night as there was little visibility behind the hotel.
The cleanliness. Comfortable bed. Fridge. Microwave. Plenty of room. Nice staff. Places to eat at close. Lots of stores and gas stations. Only 15 minutes from downtown. Pressure of shower head was very soft. The road pulling out from the hotel was pretty busy so it took awhile to pull out. Getting on the interstate was pretty complicated because of how busy the road was. But we still had a great stay!
Nice room small beds shower was hot and nice breakfast was a Hugh plus ! But there was a list of activey outside our room We missed the sign and had to turn around , there was a lot of activey outside our room during odd hours of night and it was hard to get our luggage up and down the stairs
My review: It was clean and the staff were very nice. The location was convenient and there was no pet fee. They even made my coffee when I couldn't bring my dog into the breakfast area. The landscaping looked nice was great for walking a dog. My partner's review: The bed was a double rather than the queen we paid for. Also, the fan button didn't work on the A/C. In order to block the outside noise, I had to turn the thermostat down to 60 degrees.
Affordable for a one-night stay We had to change rooms 3 times before we found one that didn't REEK of smoke. The front desk manager was very kind and allowed us to switch rooms each time (I bet they get this complaint all the time). They claimed the rooms were non-smoking but they smelled as if someone had been smoking in them for years - absolutely disgusting. The room we finally ended up in still smelled, but it "just" smelled musky and not smokey - we settled because we had already paid online and we were tired of going room-to-room.
Location was easily accessible The room was dirty. The carpet was filthy & the shower had scum. We took showers with flip flops on. It was noisy at night & I felt unsure if my vehicle would be broken into at night.
Clean Ac unit was so noisy we were unable to sleep with it running
The evening desk clerk was awlfull she had a attitude
Served our purpose.... perfect location, clean room, friendly staff. I prefer a softer mattress. I didn't like the short pillows.
It was convenient to the sights we wanted to visit
The desk clerk and the kitchen help was wonderful
Breakfast and staff were friendly. Hallways smelled like smoke. Far too many loiters hanging around the parking lot smoking.
Breakfast The hotel was run down for the cost of the room.
It was a great location. Very close to the attractions we wanted to visit. Front desk was not very well trained. I asked the same question different times and got three different answers. This did not instill confidence in me. Courtney was the only one who seemed to know what was going on and went the extra mile. Thanks Courtne!
The staff was very friendly. The room was exceptionally clean.
The room was very nice, clean, & comfortable. The lady serving breakfast was so very nice and accomodating - Star Employee The parking facility - we arrived at night and had to park near the rear of the building and it was dark and 'spooky' and just made me feel uncomfortable. Thank you.
Clean hotel with friendly staff. They could use some more seating in the breakfast room.
easy to find, right off the expressway. close to attractions no hot tub/spa noisy air/heat unit in room
SOME of the staff were friendly and helpful. The location of the building was in the perfect place. It wasn't crowded, it was quiet. The rest of the staff had nasty attitudes. They had BEDBUGS. Even though they had the protective sheets on it still didn't work. The cards stopped working every day we were there. One employee told us because they are old and cheap. They ran out of coffee creamer so we had to go next door to waffle house and get a coffee. The whole place just stunk. When we came into the room it was still dirty. Trash in the can, stuff all over the wall in the bathroom and bedroom. Bathroom still had hand prints on the mirror and hair in the tub. If I could have gotten my money back I would have. We discussed many times just going to get a new room elsewhere..
The room itself was comfortable - large size, bed was cozy, TV had great channels. Location was good (close to freeway and most attractions). Price was good. The receptionist was rude - I walked in to ask about check in time and she was having a conversation over the counter with another employee and looked at me like I was interrupting a very personal conversation and gave me a nasty response. The stairway was dirty. Our room keys deactivated on our 2nd day there. Breakfast choices were crummy.
The staff at the hotel were SUPER friendly. The pool was nice, and the rooms were simple. nothing fancy but the location was AMAZING. It's only a 5 minute drive to rock city, the incline and ruby falls. That alone make the value worth it. This is a bargain hotel so don't expect anything great from the rooms. The walls are thin, but you get your own fridge, coffee maker and microwave. Our coffee maker didn't work. the only real downside to the room that we noticed was that there weren't any free power outlets. And they were hard to find. We ended up plugging in our phones in the bathroom.
