Pros: Lovely watching the birds darting around the many bird feeders. Great breakfast. Charming room. Very nice hosts.
Cons: The bed could have been a little larger (but would not have fitted in the room), firmer and therefore more comfy - and duvet rather than sheets/blankets. The bathroom would benefit from ventilation.

Pros: The breakfast room was worthy of a country manor, and although a recent addition, it blends nicely with the older farmhouse structure. The rooms are incredibly comfortable but what really makes the location are the hosts Kerry and Andy. They know the local area well and gave great suggestions for both dinner and hiking. And a big plus - Kerry's homemade shortbread cookies - which absolutely crush those of the famous tartan-branded tins!

Pros: A small, family run hotel with lovely spacious rooms and excellent service. The breakfast was delicious, with lots of locally sourced produce. The friendly owners allowed us to store bikes in a locked room at the back and were very helpful whenever we asked for anything.
Cons: The bar and lounge area was lovely, but was only open in the afternoons/early evening. It was locked from 7pm which seemed a shame as it would have been a great place to sit in the evenings. There used to be a restaurant attached to the hotel, but sadly this has now closed.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful to be served breakfast as opposed to walking repeatedly to a buffet. Lovely muesli, perfect soft-boiled eggs. Lovely room. The potting shed-an informal bistro-type addition to the facilities is excellent. I ate a delightful dish of beetroot with goats cheese and walnuts
Cons: Toast needs to be bit more toasted. Other than that I can't think of a thing
6.7 Good
Pros: The room was fine.
Cons: Tried the new potting shed and found it cramped and diners sitting on top of each other. Ruined it a bit for us and alternatives for light eating limited. Staff were courteous but did not reach friendly. Got up in the morning for a walk and the door was barred at 7.15 so could not get out. There is a sign for latecomers about alternative entrance but would expect door to be open in summer.
9.4 Excellent
Pros: The grounds and gardens were beautiful, the buildings quirky. It was nice and quiet with fresh apples in each room. The peacock and his "friends" spent a lot of time on the roof outside my window and he puts on a quite a display!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was just perfect!
Cons: Nothing at all
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A pink gem! The satnav took us to an old people's home, but we were guided in by the receptionist. Hot chocolate was served within miinutes of our late evening arrival. The piano in the library was a particular delight as guests were encouraged to play (we didn't!). Staff were uber friendly.
Cons: offering some sort of river ride would be nice. Rowing boat or similar.

Cons: I feel the rooms now need updated. Broken lamp in bedroom
7.9 Good

Cons: Felt under staffed at times - often waited quite a while to get served
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This really is a wonderful hotel, stunning grounds, gorgeous 16 century building oozing charm, staff are amazing and cannot do enough for you, food is exceptional quality, dinner was a great experience and breakfast was one of the best we have eaten in a hotel at this price point. It really is excellent value for money and the river runs right next to the hotel with exclusive fishing rights free of charge for guests, there is a walled garden with peacocks roaming freely and a quaint little tea room bistro with outdoor seating for a sunny day.Sleep quality is amazing as there is zero road noise although the hotel sits just off the main street!,beds are super comfy and our room was spotless. There are a few cobwebs here and there and the odd bit of wallpaper peeling but this only adds to the charm of the place!,we cannot wait to return as i have really fallen for this wonderful hotel.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location and bar were great :)
Cons: The rooms are very poorly insulated. As it is an old building you can here everything going on outside and in the hallways and neighboring rooms. Which made a good nights sleep difficult. Would recommend bringing earplugs. Also check in wasn’t very thorough. Breakfast wasn’t explained. For example when arriving we weren’t aware that we had to sit at certain tables that was already set as there was plenty of tables to choose from. When we asked for cutlery the waiter proceeded to explain that we were suppose to sit at a table that was set for our room. This was designated by the number of menus laid on a table. It also would have been appreciated if someone explained that then menu is included in the breakfast price. Just some helpful tips that could have made our stay smoother.
