Hôtel Du Cloître - Arles - Bedroom
1
9.2 Excellent (411 reviews)
AED 481+
Overview Reviews
On the square, a hundred-year-old Paulownia. This tall, single tree insulates Le Cloître and casts its kind shade over groups of friends gathered at tables underneath. Inside, the air is soft, cool, calm. We are struck by its geometry. We slide down its corridors as if on skates. We can hear the local school in the distance. Everywhere the city is bustling, but then the uproar fades when it reaches the stones. The design and colors breathe new life into this space. Should we have a reading break or a coffee break, or should we have a drink on the rooftop instead? At Le Cloître, unwinding is organized. Comfort is designed to inspire. The library is made for escape. The fluidity of service is conceived for well-being. This time of calm ends in moments of sharing, in revelations. It soon becomes a necessity to stay at this hotel without stars.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The property location is fantastic, and it’s courtyard is a wonderful place to relax.
Cons: Unfortunately the dyson fan didn’t quite cool down the room during the summer heat, making the evenings quite uncomfortable

Pros: Excellent position just a few metres from beautiful Centre ville. Helpful friendly staff on hand 24/7. Parking close by.

7.9 Good
Pros: Great location and the interior was really cool.
Cons: The staff were not welcoming or helpful. While two reception staff stood behind their desk I had to make 3 trips to go and get our luggage from outside. No service with a smile. The restaurant outside served us a cloudy bottle of Rose which tasted off but tried to say it was normal.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very nice stylish interior, modern touch in old building... great bathroom with excellent shower. Nice breakfast room and nice courtyard ( with small restaurant).
Cons: No real airconditioning... the provided fan on ceiling might be normally good enough but at close to 40 degrees it had its limits....
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A Continental breakfast was served in the dining room every morning. You could boil eggs to your liking. The hotel has been build into a middle ages cloister with three foot thick walls, sixteen foot ceiling, and huge windows. We were on the second floor in a very spacious room with a very unique bathroom sink and a large bathtub.
Cons: The twenty one stairs it took to come and go from our room..
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great position , charming hotel, a little difficult to drive to .
Cons: Lots of stairs to our room , no air conditioning

7.1 Good
Pros: Facilities anf staff were fantastic and very helpful
Cons: The place is nearby a swamp. it was plenty of mosquitoes/insects that have left by arms with at least 10-15 bites, even though not hurting. However my wife woke up in the morning with arms and legs full of injuries, she could not stop scratching, and even now after about 10 days and use of ointments, have still crusts on the body. A real pity, because the place and the staff were lovable, friendly and very helpful.

The management aloud lunch visitors to come and use the pool with very loud children 5-8 age!!!! in the pool, we had to leave and others did, please note this pool area is normally Carme and very tranquil. confronting the manager he said its a family hotel and condoned it, you can't argue with that, we check out.(they did not charges for the last night. no WIFI in the rooms for 3wks to date and the hotel has a 24 digit pass word in the middle of no ware, WHY and problems with the lobby connection very frustrating.

Cons: No coffee in the room, only herbal tea :-( No lift so perhaps not suitable for families with babies or the unfit old?
10.0 Excellent
Pros: great breakfast friendly host

9.7 Excellent
Pros: The location was great, it was close to everything. The staff were very helpful and we were able to print our train tickets in the lobby. The room was large and the beds comfortable. I really liked the bathroom, very clean and the shower was big for France.
Cons: There were only stairs up to our room, I'm glad we did not have heavy suitcases.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely small hotel in old building that has bee restored nicely. Comfortable room if a bit small. The location is right in the historic center of the city, steps away from the Roman arena and shops and museums.
Cons: The A/C struggled to cope with the heatwave but just about managed. The hotel is tricky to access by car; don’t follow Waze or Google Maps or you’ll get stuck. You’re better off parking by the river and walking a couple of blocks
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent breakfast. Wonderful personal service from several generations of the DePlanck family.
7.5 Good
Pros: Good breakfast and friendly and helpful staff/ owners
Cons: Room a little cramped but it’s an old building
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Beautifully redecorated room. Great location. A very short walk to the coliseum, Place du Forum, Place de la Republique, the river and countless restaurants and shops. A very old, rustic (but comfortable) neighborhood. We requested a ground floor room. Glad to not need to negotiate the spiral staircase. (I'm sure the rooms upstairs were also beautiful.) Breakfast was wonderful.
Cons: Finding it by car was a nightmare. We suggest you drive to the public parking centre and find it on foot. (Interesting, easy 7 min walk) AC was not quite up to the heat wave challenge. (At least by US standards)
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Really lovely building, stylishly renovated. Comfortable beds, very helpful staff who let us put our bikes in the private garage, very good breakfast. Well located for central Arles attractions, shops and restaurants. Air conditioned room.
Cons: Coffee in the room would have been good.
7.9 Good
Pros: Front desk guided us by phone, how to drive to the hotel that is in the pedestrian only part of the old city. Opened up the street barriers for us. Later explained how we could park overnight for free, a few blocks away. I appreciated this! The location is perfect for visiting, and walking to the Arenes, Theatre Antique and central old city. I would return there.
Cons: No negative comments to cite.

Pros: The location was perfect. It was quite near the arena and the Roman theater. The room we stayed was spacious with a bath tub.
Cons: The spa was a bit smaller than we thought.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We had our breakfast in the garden which we found lovely.
Cons: Look: in our room, number 2, there is a very large picture of Bruce Lee. Yes. A first sight, the photo does not look very good from a technical point of view. Kitsch, we thought. Funny. A little
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The inside garden , the welcoming of the staff , the atmosphere, the outside terrace and the bar
Cons: Car noise in the morning
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is located right in the middle of Arles which is great for access to everything.
Cons: The one issue was that it is very difficult to drive to, especially when the market is on. Parking is in the public centre ville car park which has an exceptionally narrow entrance. Not an easy car park to use in a larger vehicle.
7.5 Good
Pros: Great central location. The shaded courtyard was a great place to eat breakfast. The 24 hr cafe counter is a good facility.
Cons: No drinking water provided in the rooms. No mirror in the room (just in the bathroom).

Pros: Staff exceptional
Cons: Kettle in the room
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect! Easily to reach . Positioned in the old city center . Best solution to Stay and visit the fantastic city of Arles .
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is one of the best hotels ever! I have stayed there 3x in the past three years and will always pick this hotel when staying in Arles. It is a special place.
Cons: This hotel is perfect.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Top location. Lovely terrace for breakfast.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was superior, right in the old city.
Cons: I took the parking deal, which seemed like a good price. But the parking itself has very tight corners and the rental car I had, which was positioned as an upgrade by the car rental company at Marseilles airport, made the exiting and parking extremely difficult, so I damaged the car on the extremely narrow exit ramp of the carpark. If you inspect the final downward curve from Level 1 to the Exit, you will see that the concrete corner of the ramp is heavily damaged, clearly the combined effect of many brushes with cars. In fact it would be interesting to install a camera there to see how many cars are ruined each day, and annually, by that too-tight cornering. I would suggest the hotel obtain two deals, one as is and the other they could offer people (like Americans) driving slightly longer cars. This one would have some outdoor spaces so that exiting will not risk your car. The ramp was built in an earlier day, probably fine at the time, but not useful now in terms of what has happened with cars in the past two or more decades--lower, and longer.
Hôtel du Musée - Arles - Bedroom

9.0 Excellent (521 reviews)
AED 404+
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Du Musée in Arles (Arles City Centre), you'll be steps from Camargue Regional Nature Park and 5 minutes by foot from Arles Amphitheatre. Featured amenities include multilingual staff and a library.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The stuff are amazingly helpful! They speak good English, helped me to contact information center and arrange my trip to Camargue. Even when I left the hotel and tried to find my bus to next destination they still helped me by phone... The hotel itself, it looks old on first sight, but once you enter the room, it’s nice and clean, with good lavender smell. All facilities work well, the AC is efficient, and there’s even USB charge on the wall!
Cons: If you are taller than 1.8, the bathroom is not for you. And if you are solo traveller, please don’t bring huge luggage— there is NO lift. But I had prepared and the stairs are much wider than I thought so it was ok for me.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: One of the most beautiful and historic hotels we have ever stayed in. There are pretty, flower-filled, patio areas on every level where you can have a delicious breakfast, and drinks/coffee during the day, and it's in a very peaceful location. L'Arlatan - Arles - Bedroom
8
9.1 Excellent (96 reviews)
Overview
As early as the Middle Ages L’Arlatan was recognised as being Arles’ most lavish hôtel particulier - a grand townhouse - and now, thanks to the exceptional vision of artist Jorge Pardo, it is making an outstanding début on the modern stage. A gigantic 6000 square metres of mosaic now adorns the hotel with an explosion of colour, light and contemporary design. Each room and each doorway is a unique work of art; the almost two million fragments of mosaic tile used for the renovation were all handmade. The different buildings, whose central part is listed as a Monument Historique, are set around a magnificent courtyard with a majestic staircase and lounges boasting unrivalled charm. L’Arlatan welcomes you and takes you on an exceptional, magical journey through history, culture and the senses. Nestled in the historic centre of Arles, it is just a few minutes from the Place du Forum, the Roman amphitheatre (Les Arènes) and the Church of Saint Trophime.

Pros: The perfect hotel in Arles. Right on the main square, within easy walking distance of everything. Very charming, and the pool was fabulous! Our room overlooked the pool, so it was very quiet with the windows open despite the busy square.
Cons: The scrambled eggs at breakfast weren't very good, and charging a separate amount for juice at a buffet breakfast was a bit odd.

Pros: Spacious room, and a very comfortable bed.
Cons: For the money, I would have expected a hook in the bathroom, a soap-dish in the shower, and a bottle of water in the fridge. Small things, but we missed them.
2.9 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Located in a slum area. Access under major road construction. No convenient way to load/unload luggage, zero parking available, so reserved a space but it was >5 minute walk in a tucked away garage. Apartment on 2nd floor up filthy staircase. Carpeting, couch and bed were severely worn out. Not what was expected based on description and photos. Do not bother with this apartment.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Parking reasonable, initial reception was good.
Cons: The staff was there to greet us and took us to a nice parking lot not too far away with great prices. The unit was nicely remodeled however it was small and the bed was where you sit and watch television. We had air conditioning which barely worked it was 77 degrees which is warm for us and when we finally found somebody 5 days later he said it was working fine. Also the toilet ran and you had to jiggle it to stop it. we never saw anyone in the office to Lodge any complaints. The building was a bit tired, steps were in disrepair, outside terrace was not in good condition.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Everything was decent and clean. We actually stayed our whole day there in the apartment due to unexpected heatwave. It was comfortable and pleasant like our home. The owner helped us carry our luggage up to the 2nd floor of our room which weighted nearly 30kg.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Ecerything
9.2 Excellent
Pros: It is an original hotel with nice corridors remembering of a theater or fight theater. Never understood the use of animals for fun but feels interesting getting to your room in a nice chilly AC through those corridors. The place is nicely located at the beginning of the delta and 10 minutes from fantastic Arles. In the evenings you can have a nice wine at the hotel's bar. The hosts are really nice. Everything you need in the room but remember: you're in a delta, a beautiful one so go see the flamingos, horses and enjoy the nature. The pool looked nice but wasn't for us, however it looks great with all the garden and architecture.
Cons: Mosquitos but is delta. I am also quite sensitive. Despite three different sets of chemicals applied still felt I needed to have that in mind and felt spoiled by all the comfort in the middle of this amazing place.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and helpful staff, who made us feel very welcome. They made their best to secure that in spite of a very hot day and night the customers were able to enjoy the effective air conditioning as well as possible and they really succeeded in that. Great location in Camargue and good breakfast. Nice pool and garden.

Pros: Friendly owner and truly exceptional architecture from the 70s. Very nice that they have kept the rooms in authentic style.
Cons: Slight sewage smell in one of the hallways
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The location it is 25 so far from Saint Marie de la Mer, but this hotel is family friendly with pool, friendly staff and the owners are very kind and answered all our questions. This Hotel is shick and look like 60's & 70's and the architecture is very nice... the breakfast is good for the price and also has a nice view from the restaurant in the hotel and pool.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We have stayed here before. It is an amazing place and a must for anybody remotely interested in architecture. Built in the 60’s by people with a really sharp eye for fashion. Imagine Space 1999 or any Gerry Anderson production crossed with The Crossroads Motel and you might be in the ball park. We think the building is superb. There is a pool and breakfast is served on site. A young couple have just bought this and could not be doing more to make it a success. We will stay here again. Make a point of doing so yourself. Easy journey by car or motorbike to the seaside or town
Cons: Some of the bedrooms could probably do with an update likewise the bathrooms. (But not at the expense of the lovely building.) It is a bit isolated as there is currently no onsite restaurant.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Clean and the rooms are big. Very friendly hosts Who speaks English.
Cons: A bit far out from city and on the side of moto way. Not much restaurants closeby.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Extremely welcoming and gentle owners, we would come back anytime!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is really cool! Designed by the architect Armand Pellier (sculpteur, designer and architect) in 1965, the hotel was intended to look like a sculpture, fully integrated in its environment: the Camargue. Not just stunning, walking into this hotel immediately sets you back in time with its extremely curated original design. The staff is extremely friendly and super helpful and the hotel is spotless!! Highly recommend!
7.9 Good
Pros: Great to have a pool to cool down in at the end of the day. The breakfast was great.

Pros: Beautiful furnishing, wonderful staff, great location
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous staff, great foot, amazing location, unique rooms
Cons: Bed rather hard & room a bit smaller than last visit but still very good.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is right on the square in the middle of the ancient district, overlooking the restaurant in Van Gogh's Terrace at Night, so extremely hard to get to by car. That being said, once you get to it the hotel will help you park in their lot. When we left, an amazing man from the hotel not only helped us to get our car and load it but also drove us out of the complicated area to a spot where we could get to main roads. That was service well above and beyond! The hotel itself is beautiful and historic, and every member of the staff was not only helpful but very friendly. It was a terrific base from which to explore all of historic Arles, and most attractions were easy walking distance.
Cons: Really nothing that we didn't like.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Nice large room, comfortable bed, very friendly staff/owners? Historic hotel located in the center of historic Arles
Cons: We avoided booking for breakfast as we considered they were somewhat expensive (although they may well have been very good value). We ate at various restaurants in the town.

Pros: Good value for the money
Cons: No refrigerator
7.9 Good
Pros: It's a little like going back in time here but has it's charm. Lovely hosts and room was fine and had air conditioning. Great breakfast
Cons: Small shower not ideal for tall people. Bed quite low, again related to being tall. It's dated but has it's charm.
4.6 Okay
Pros: the room is at an affordable price in this town and this period. This hotel is quite close to the city center and quiet as well. Free parking
Cons: PICTURE ARE MISLEADING or UNTRUSTWORTHY (as you want). Over-exposed those pictures make the place looking MUCH better than it is actually. The place is dark, old and not well renovated. carpet is so dark that you don't even try to put your feet on the floor, the neighborhood is not very nice (drinky guys outside).
7.5 Good
Cons: Free parking is on the street, and we had to park around 500m away
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The lady who runs the hotel is extraordinarily nice and helpful. There is a breakfast option on the spot. The location allows you to easily find a parking spot.
Cons: The neigbourhood area is quite... smelly (not the hotel itself though!) - probably beacuse of the river nearby.
7.9 Good
Pros: Great location with available on street parking nearby hotel. The old city is within walking distance with many restaurants and charming historic monuments.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The people were very nice and helpful.
Cons: Beds were very hard.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location is fantastic. Views from bedroom and kitchen to the heart of Arles. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The kitchen was well equipped and good to use.
Cons: The bathroom was shared by a fair few people and it was tiny and crammed. The room is very very compact but only shared with 1 other lady so it was manageable. No cupboard space.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was the cheapest, kindest, friendliest only option you have in the city of Van Gogh. If there´s a room available, just get it! The kitchen availability was nice, and I enjoyed having a meal looking down at the street through the window there. There is a cafe just downstairs and it´s quite nice, too. Different kinds of restaurants like sushi, Indian food are available within just a minute of walking distance. And, personally and funnily enough, the sunset view from the bathroom windows was the best.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: This is a superb place to stay in Arles, I loved it. - Location is great, right in the city center. - Very clean room, bathrooms and common areas. - Rooms have air conditioning. - A nice kitchen to cook your own meals. - Fantastic view from the common room, as well as my room. - It's a fairly small hostel so never crowded or noisy. - Baguette for breakfast, coffee available all day for free. It's not a lot but really makes you feel like at home.
Cons: The room is a bit small, and the bed squeaks.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: good breakfast
Cons: Receptionist not that familiar with the room status
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Air conditionor! And it is in the centre of tourism places. It also provides free coco powder, instant coffee and milk, also tea bags!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean and nice, near amphitheatre.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location was GREAT! a Roman theater in front, a Roman Colliseum behind and a park Van Gogh painted 3 minutes away.
Cons: The facilities were a little basic and it was very confusing was to where the office for check in was.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The view from the windows was really good. The spaces were really clean and the kitchen was big. The girls (we were all women) were nice and kind so we had time to speak together a lot. The position is perfect! Close to everything. Really suggested
Cons: I appreciated everything!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The place is small but awesome - spotless, everything you may need is there, the environment is perfect for relaxing but also for getting to know new people (we were all single travellers -girls- and I met lovely travelmates there!), the position and view from the room and the bathroom were absolutely amazing and worth the stay! Arles itself is a pretty city, tourist but still with authentic spots around and human-size, loved it! Plus: free breakfast was a surprise and a super nice detail included in the stay - just some milk, butter, jam and fresh bread, but enough for making you feel pampered and home : ) The guest kitchen is definitely a plus for arranging meals and extra food throughout your stay and day trips : )
Cons: Everything was perfect! Maybe the beds were a bit squeaking but comfy too, and as the reception is a few meters from the building, so the staff is not there, it would be nice to get some maps and leaflets in the common area just to give more insights on the possible sights and activities around.

Pros: We loved our gorgeous deluxe room, the refreshing pool and the beautiful grounds . It is rare to find a hotel in France with air conditioning. I was happy with the staff and they were friendly and helpful. The shower was delightful and superior toiletries. We enjoyed the comfortable bed and everything was clean. The hotel was in walking distance to everything we wanted to do in Arles. We would definitely recommend this hotel to friends.
Cons: My complaint was I was overpriced for a plate of fruit (I only liked one of the fruits offered). I wish there was room service offered late in the evening.

Pros: The pool, considering the stay was during an unprecedented heat wave. The breakfast, beautiful. The staff, lovely. Historic mansion, but very stylishly renovated. And the garden! And the scent of rose blossom!

7.9 Good
Pros: Spacious room, very well attended, clean and very modern with every amenity.
Cons: The staff was not very accommodating It freind my fur a 5 star hotel st that rate. In addition, the fee for parking was extreme, nit well advertised and it was unfortunate that the staff did not communicate that it was a holiday and parking was free. That was aggravating specifically since I asked. The shower did not fit in the bathroom And it leaked a bit.
7.9 Good
Pros: Central location, friendly staff
Cons: Disappointed by small pool area, lack of beds to rest
8.3 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was very spacious and comfortable, with a Nespresso machine. There was easy access to the pool and garden and a lovely cloister for sitting and relaxing. The location was excellent, right in the centre and close to the Tourist Office. The staff are very helpful and efficient, especially the concierge, Olivier. On checking out there was a mix-up with our taxi booking. On noticing this, Olivier very kindly offered to drive us to the train station, which he did even though he was very busy. Really excellent service. Thank you Olivier!

Pros: Great location. Wonderful building. Helpful staff at reception. Nice pool.

Pros: Location is great. Staff is nice. Good quality of Breakfast.

7.0 Good
Cons: Booked this hotel as parking was provide but was charged 79 Euros on leaving
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location was amazing and easy to find. Staff was friendly and very helpful.
Cons: WiFi was forced you to log in regularly.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The best thing about this hotel are the staff. They were all charming and could not have been nicer.
Cons: This hotel is not a 5 star hotel by any stretch of the imagination. It is dated, the bathroom of the room given to us did not resemble the photo of booking.com, it was small and the water never got hot. They had no feather pillows which for a 5 star hotel is very poor indeed, however the incredibly sweet and charming receptionist Johane, sourced two for us for the second night. When we arrived the room smelt, we were offered another which smelt worse. They did put a fan in the room and a small bottle of wine to apologise but to be honest, maybe offering breakfast or free car parking would have been a more appropriate gesture. This hotel does have a small pool which is nice and a good location but is not worth the expensive €270 a night price tag.

Pros: Garage in basement - very convenient. Pool pleasant (umbrellas would have been wonderful). Location location, location.

5.8 Okay
Pros: Staff there is pretty friendly and helpful, and the location is great: it’s only 2 minutes away from the Amphitheater.
Cons: The shower in the room has a incredibly low support…which means you must hold the shower when you’re taking a bath. Also the hotel does not have an elevator so the steer staircase might be an obstacle for tourists with heavy luggages.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Good location near public parking
Cons: Very bad smell when you enter the building and continues in all floors. Had to keep the window open all night to be able to sleep. Very bad sound isolation - the room next to us had the tv on and it was so loud. No elevator so good luck if you have luggage like us - you have to go up from a narrow stairs 3 floors up in our case... Paid for a room with view and had a view in a small street full of trash.
