Cons: They made me pay extra money which was not indicated in the itinerary!
Confusing
Cons: Lack of information and congruence regarding flight numbers, connections and boarding gates.
Pros: Nothing, because I didn't get to fly
Cons: I didn't get to fly because Air Zim through a surprise fifty dollar tax on me, after I had already paid for one online. Very unpleasat, I had to book an SAA flight for 320 US$, each, and I was booking for two.
Pros: the captain and the pilots
Cons: the air hostesses the other one was so mean to me
Unexplained delays
Cons: They had delays - they said they were sorting out some paperwork.
Undisclosed information that cost time and money
Pros: That the plane could fly. That the air hostess very kindly arranged for us to sit together after we'd been booked by check in desk to sit 7 rows apart.
Cons: Our outbound flight on Air Zim (JNB to VFA) was delayed by 2,5 hours due to "technical problems and a flat tyre"! What????Also, their planes look old and seem worse for wear inside and out. We saw flaking paint on seats and patched lining on the inner cabin walls. Food offered: cheese & tomato sandwich. No on-board entertainment. At departure (VFA to JNB), we were informed that we could only board after paying a departure tax of 50USD per person! This is ridiculous as taxes should be included in the ticket fare (as with other carriers). We were not told about an additional stopover in Bulawayo until we were seated on the plane. We'll never fly with Zim Air again.
Tax Issue
Cons: The airline does not pay the tax that the Victoria Falls Airport requires so the traveler has to pay it before going thru customs. It is a pricey tax and very annoying because it is unexpected. I would rather know what my flight is going to be including taxes and make the decision. Had I known about the tax, I would not have flown this airline because there were cheaper flights on other airlines. It needs to be communicated to passengers better or they just need to pay the stupid tax and include it in their cost.
Zero Communication from airline!!!
Pros: I loved kayak, because you are the only reason I knew the flight was delayed by an hour, the airline never toms us or posted any signage at the airport! Very frustrated passengers!
Cons: They refused to tell us any information on canceled flights, gate changes, even had to switch planes at a random city (transfer) they called it but we had to go through security and no one from the airline communicated with us 15 or so passengers who got very very poor customer service from Air Zim... I will never fly with them again!!! I had to ask the pilot as we boarded to (last mind you) if this jet was actually going to JNB, because their airline staff sure didn't communicate it to us passengers
Pros: No problems on the flight.
Cons: The mosquitoes in the boarding area at Vic Falls.
