Overview of Air Italy

Based in Milan, Air Italy operates a number of domestic flights across Italy as well as internationally. Flights reach as far as North America and Africa, with a centralized focus on Southern Europe. Commencing scheduled flights in 2018, the airline developed quickly to begin offering transatlantic routes. It also runs a second hub in Olbia, which is a focus city and attracts a large number of vacation travelers throughout the year.

A mix of both Boeing and Airbus aircraft are used by Air Italy, with a preference for medium range jets, such as the Boeing 737 and Airbus A330. Business Class is offered on some of the more modern models in the fleet, with Italian designer slippers and pajamas provided. Another feature of the Business section is personalized hospitality, with flight attendants greeting customers by name. Business passengers also receive 60MB of complimentary Wi-Fi data.

Previously known as Meridiana, it is a subsidiary of the AQA Holding group and is partly owned by the global giant Qatar Airways. The airlines work closely together to share route connections and facilities. Codeshare agreements are also in place with British Airways, S7 Airlines, Bulgaria Air and Air Moldova. Prorate agreements are maintained with carriers such as Alaska Airlines and Aegean Airlines to ensure smooth passenger transport.

The aircraft and branding of the carrier feature maroon and light green colors, which are similar to that of Qatar Airways. The stylized "Y" of the Air Italy logo is emblazoned on the tail of the planes and resembles a flying bird.
