8.0 Excellent
Pros: Room and view
6.0 Good
Pros: breakfast was ok, much the same everyday
Cons: access for wheelchair was poor, even for access to dining area could not get to the beach as the ramp was to steep
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The private beach is exceptional, and the breakfast buffet is a great touch. The ocean views were a favorite as well.
Cons: There was some noise in the halls at night from other guests and also the advertisements from the hotel. Some services were sub-par like the ice machine and laundry, but in the end I always got what I requested.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Best part is the staff (all departments). Excellent food overall. Great property and love that it is in effect a private beach.
Cons: Have to go off property to enjoy "night-life" although that's not why we chose this hotel.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Beds were comfortable.
Cons: Asked to be in quiet room but music from.a wedding kept us up.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved the private balcony and the private beach.
Cons: Dress code in Italian restaurant.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Gorgeous location - beautiful views, excellent service and staff and pool.
Cons: The food selection is ok, could be better. Also we had a room on 19th floor, one floor above lobby and the loud music at night could easily be heard in our room - on 2 out of 5 nights, lasting after 10 pm.
7.0 Good
Pros: Amazing staff!
Cons: Our room had mold and the air conditioning stunk really bad. They need to have ice available on each floor in a hot climate like Ixtapa!
5.8 Okay
Pros: THE BEACH
Cons: the food......the stairs
6.0 Good
Pros: Bed & pillows
Cons: Hard to get ice, too far from town
9.0 Excellent
Pros: There was a LOT to love about our experience at Las Brisas. The building itself was a unique and interesting layout. Everything everywhere was absolutely spotless. Almost every single staff member I interacted with was very helpful, &professional.
Cons: The ridiculous TOWELS “reserving” beach and pool seating. That were of course left empty for hours. Every single day! Put a SIGN UP telling people to stop it. And enforce it! FIRST COME , FIRST SERVE!!!
8.0 Excellent
Cons: Distance to Playa and pool. Walk to Plaza.
Hotel Irma - Zihuatanejo - Building

8.4 Excellent (593 reviews)
AED 305+
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Hotel Irma in Zihuatanejo (Playa la Madera), you'll be steps from Zihuatanejo Bay and La Madera Beach. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk, luggage storage, and laundry facilities. Free self parking is available onsite.
8.5 Excellent
Pros: Staff were amazing !!!! Loved the view and the pools . It’s so clean ! Food was great .
Cons: Very poor wifi and hard beds
7.4 Good
Pros: You can walk to the beach, town and restaurants. The view was beautiful. The staff was friendly and professional.
Cons: The hotel needs a facelift. My air conditioner quit and I had to move to another room. One day only hot water in the shower. Hair dryer smelled like it was on the verge of burning up. All problems handled promptly, but should not be happening. Everything a little dated.
6.2 Good
Pros: The staff is fantastic, professional and so friendly. And the place is well run, no complaints there. Good food too!
Cons: Ok, so I get it, people booking through aggregators are not their ideal customer, so no wonder they put you in their worst room. But I can still review them based on that room, which honestly, no one should ever be put in, AC compressors running all night long on the other side of the wall. The room we were moved to the next day after complaining was better, but still quite noisy (laundry starts up at 8am). If you like quiet, this is not the place for you, unless you can get one of their better rooms. Cleanliness was to mexican standards. No problem for me, I'm used to it, but in my opinion quite shoddy for the price paid, I would expect resort level spit and shine for 77 bucks USD a night.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff and facilities were excellent. The staff were friendly and very helpful and you could tell they liked their job and wanted to be there.
Cons: Many patrons were regulars and return to this hotel annually, but they would often hoard the lounge chairs by the pool. They would get up early and place towels on the chairs then leave and go for breakfast etc, so that there weren’t any chairs available to sit by the pool but many were empty with towels. If you moved a chair or towel to use it the patrons would be snooty about it! Not everyone was like this.
6.0 Good
Pros: Location and staff
Cons: No elevator.
7.0 Good
Cons: Hotel is on a hill and our room was on a high floor. We were on foot, so lots of climbing!
5.0 Okay
Pros: This is an older hotel in a spectacular location. The staff and basic facilities were wonderful. My parents remember it fondly from the days when they were able to climb all those stairs.
Cons: Anything more than basic facilities was missing: essentially no wifi, almost no water provided, no coffee-maker or fridge. The room did not even have a chair, and the ones on the balcony were only useful for 1/2 the day because there were no awnings on the balconies. Although the pool, bar and restaurant were good and there are 2 large sundecks (with spectacular view), there were very few lounge chairs or umbrellas so it was often impossible to enjoy this space. The hotel has recently made a dramatic increase in rates, and given the extremely "cheap" facilities I would strongly advise that you spend the money elsewhere.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was fine. The service was great.
Cons: Wi-fi needs a lot of work.
7.0 Good
Pros: In 5 years, your price has doubled,(we have stayed 3 times at Irma) but nothing else has changed to warrant this high price now. You need to do these things: 1. GET RELIABLE INTERNET THROUGHOUT, 2. MORE Umbrellas/shade by the pool, 3. CHAIR in the room 4. COFFEE MAKER IN THE ROOM 5. Mini- fridge in the room. 6. MAKE BETTER MARGARITAS from scratch and not from that horrible sweet mix. These are the things I really think you need to do because EVERYONE was complaining about these items. If you are going to charge more then please put some money back into the hotel. I won't stay again because I can stay across the street where they have kitchens, good internet and a pool for $60/night.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: small fridge in rooms would have made things more enjoyable
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing staff The rooms were kept very clean We can't wait to go back
Hotel Villa Mexicana - Zihuatanejo - Bedroom
3
8.4 Excellent (612 reviews)
AED 441+
Overview Reviews
When you stay at Hotel Villa Mexicana in Zihuatanejo, you'll be connected to the convention center, just steps from La Ropa Beach and Zihuatanejo Bay. Featured amenities include a business center, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a 24-hour front desk. Event facilities at this hotel consist of a conference center and a meeting room. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Location and cleanliness
Cons: No wifi as advertised in our room, restaurant, lounge or pool area, spotty in lobby. Drinks were small and no bottled beer, no fridge or coffee in room, towels were old and coarse. We spent little time there other than to sleep
6.7 Good
Pros: +The location is excellent. You are right on the beach, a lovely, safe beach. The bed was comfortable and had a generous supply of pillows. I ate a breakfast at their restaurant, Dona Prudencia, and it was lovely and had good food.
Cons: I probably wouldn't stay there again. It is basically an old motel that has been updated a bit. Some of the employees must not be treated well because they seem unhappy working there. The shower was spaying water upwards and out of the shower area so the bathroom floor was really wet and slippery and dangerous. I reported it to the front desk and nothing was repaired. On the 3rd day I saw a woman who seemed in charge of housekeeping and I explained about the shower and she had a repair person quickly fix the shower head. The pools are a bit sad, definitely remnants of its motel heritage.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We have been staying at Villa Mexicana for over fifteen years. And this year it just seemed exceptionally good. The front desk staff lead by Eloisa is incredible and very helpful. The restaurant was good; both food and staff. And our room was delightful. It is obvious that the owners/management of the hotel have been making some improvements to the property. So far, so good! Just don't make too many changes! A very enjoyable long vacation.
Cons: Frankly, this year I do not have any negative comments. Seriously, all good.
7.9 Good
Pros: Staff Restaurant
Cons: No small towels provided?!the shower is dangerous because there aren’t any railings to hold on too ! It’s an accident ready to happen!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Did not have breakfast there.
Cons: Would be nice to have a fridge in the room or coffee available in the lobby.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great location in the beach and you can sit in the pool and watch the ocean. Quiet this years and it was the 3rd time we came. Great value! Clean! Beds are hard thou so drink lots of margaritas before retiring. Taxis on hand 24hrs. Walk to town it pay $50pesos great restaurants within walking distance or stay at the hotel. All great in zihuatanejo!
Cons: Everything
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Several pools available depending on what you were looking for. Staff were very accommodating. My only suggestion would be is to get up early and reserve a lounge chair as they are somewhat limited.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Most of the staff were friendly and helpful. Excellent location and very clean! Needs a few updates but I expected that from other reviewers. Great value for money. Really nice restaurant and taxis right outside when needed. Felt safe at all times. We walked in and out of town and to other beaches and restaurants very easily at all different times of the day and up until 10 pm or so.. I would go back there in a heartbeat!
Cons: beds and pillows were hard and uncomfortable. The sink and TV in our room had issues but we didn't even ask to fix them. We didn't care that much as we were only in our room to sleep. And the lock on our door was hard to manage but again we just figured it out. Oh and I wish they had a fridge. So really small things considering the price. And we didn't ask them to fix anything. One day our toilet didn't flush and they were in the room in 5 minutes!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was more than I expected. The portions were sizable. The location was fantastic. Unless we went to town, we never had to wear shoes and were steps away from everything we needed. We felt safe and well taken care of.
7.5 Good
Pros: Location is on the beach. There are restaurants within walking distance. TV has some Canadian & American channels. Not overcrowded. La Ropa beach is beautiful.
Cons: There is no refrigerator, so you must rely on the restaurants. No place to keep drinks, etc. only stairs to get to the second level. No recycling. No drawers for garments.in room Wifi is not very good.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The relaxed Atmosphere Good Breakfast
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location on the best section of the beach
Cons: Food quality is poor and also expensive relative to the other options available, even compared to the other higher end options.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Rooms were beautiful. Air conditioning. Pool.
7.9 Good
Pros: Beautiful property and an excellent location Very proficient staff
Cons: We felt like it was way way overpriced! And we had friends staying in zihuatanejo and they came over for a visit. They were told they had to pay $100 per person per day just to spend a day at the beach with us! Then they made me sign a waiver in case they trashed the place. Poor business practice! They should be pampering us and them so they might consider staying there sometime! We will never go back after that. I hope the powers that be read this. I don’t blame the staff, they are just doing as they are told.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location and beach
Cons: The menu for food was a little strange. Expensive and not good.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We felt safe, the place is beautiful ! Easy to get from airport. Staff was very attentive. Great food too ! Rooms are large which we love.

Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access, express check-in, and express check-out. 7.9 Good
Pros: I would call this older property "classic Mexican charm". Clean and functional. It is a park like setting. Quiet, yet close to the beach and all amenities. Multiple swimming pools and modest water slide. Helpful staff
7.9 Good
Pros: Girls trip, its a really secure Hotel close to restuarants, stores, bars, Staff is really friendly specially Enrique and Chava they are great in customer service, had a great stay. Will for sure return.
4.2 Okay
Pros: Swimming area
Cons: The smell of sewer waste, the mattress hard as a rock, certain staff member rude, had every item inventoried when arrived and when we left..
5.4 Okay
Pros: The room was good. Housekeeping was great. Restaurant also good. The grounds are still nice but too many locals trample all over it and then track it into the pool.
Cons: It seems that the hotel now caters to Mexicans, with people coming in for the day, They scream at each other from balcony to balcony, and scream at each other from their balconies down to the pool area, The only quiet times are when there are no large groups there. I noticed that the grass was not as nice as my first visit. ALL the locals trampled all over it even though there were signs to stay off, and then dragged grass and dirt into the pool constantly, thus making the pool dirtier all the time. There appeared to be many days when no one at the front desk spoke English. We never complained but the ONLY time that they moved fast was when they arrived at our door at the stroke of 12 to get us out enough though we had asked for 1 hour later checkout. The man even stood at our door for the entire time it took us to finish packing. We ate at the restaurant and the food was good and the service was also very good, but If you want a quieter vacation, DO NOT GO HERE!
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: Grounds were pretty.
Cons: HORRIBLE experience! They overcharged me for first night and charged me an extra $50 deposit I didn't expect. I then requested that they put me in a smaller room and it had NO RUNNING WATER!!! The toilet wouldn't flush, and I couldn't wash my hands after using the bathroom or take a shower in 90 degree heat! Apparently some water pipe broke the day before, but they KNEW THAT. When I complained and asked for another room, they said they didn't have keys to another room with water so I couldn't switch rooms. They told me the water would be back on by 7 am the NEXT DAY, but it wasn't. Additionally, they refused to give me my money or 2 nightd of deposit(s) back. They refused to credit my card, saying I would have to wait 3-10 days. I'm disputing all the charges with my bank right now. And the worst part is that they didn't have 1 person at the front desk or on the premises that spoke English. Not one! DON'T STAY HERE. They will cheat you and overcharge you from the moment you arrive. There were no other Americans staying there besides me, and now I know why. Plus there are no computers available to access the internet to look for other places to stay. When I asked them if I could use the one in the office, surprise, they refused again! DON'T STAY HERE!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: I like the park like setting with pool. The staff... Jose ( 2 names in his name!). And the woman serving us at the restaurant. Good food. The size of the rooms . Cleanliness
Cons: More lawn chairs needed! Needs an outside coat of paint to look appealing from all sides

Pros: A lovely little boutique hotel right in the heart of the old area near the beach. Staff was friendly. Place was clean. Comfy beds. Close to cabs. All in all a really nice stay.
Cons: Nothing really. We’d stay there again, as is.
10.0 Excellent

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Pool area, housekeeping, cleanliness, kitchen facilities and the villa mercedes is a nice size. The location is excellent for walking everywhere you want to go. Also location is reason its noisy.
Cons: The hotel is placed on the corner of 2 main thoroughfares. Very loud commercial trucks and motorcycles. Conversations could be easily overheard on the sidewalk. Maybe a different room would have been quieter.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Price can't be beat. Close to our 4 favorite restaurants. Short walk to beach, bank, central market.
Cons: Not on the beach, no beach view. Linens need upgrade.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Amazing views from every single window in the unit, and there are lots! Very bright and spacious suites. Well maintained. Nice refreshing pool. Nice restaurant. Friendly helpful staff.
Cons: I’m not saying I didn’t like it; just an important fact about the location! El Morro is high up on a very steep hill. That’s how you get the great view. There is stairs that take you straight down to the pier, not to far, maybe 10 min walk. But going back up, it’s a lot of stairs and very steep. So add the heat, and even us that like to walk everywhere would take a taxi most of the time. There were tiny little bugs in the kitchen, on counters/walls. They got into our cereal which we had to discard. No big deal.
9.4 Excellent
Pros: Clean and as advertised. Better on price than most others for the room type. A 10-minute walk to the pier and most restaurants.
Cons: The 10-minute walk to the pier is tough on the way back up.
7.0 Good
Pros: Spectacular location nice small pool
Cons: It is a very long way to the town of Zihuatanejo
6.0 Good
Pros: 1st-The View. 2nd- The size. 3rd-The pool. 4th- the quiet.
Cons: On the weekends it was much noisier with the weekend crowd, usually congregating around the pool and being very noisy until management shut them down. This was done very efficiently.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly and helpful staff, amazing view, comfortable and clean. Great value. Highly recommended.
Cons: A healthy walk or short taxi ride to the beaches, but worth it for the view.
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: Nada
Cons: Booked thru booking.com genius level and was escorted to a bare bones hot room with burned out light bulbs. Morning reception claimed that, by the time we arrived, the hotel was full. I don't believe it. I speak Spanish. If you don't, good luck! Expecting us, the windows could have been closed and the room cooled off with the available air conditioning. Absolutely no consideration to check and prepare room for arriving prepaid room. Awful value for 1260 pesos. Not much hot water either.
7.4 Good
Pros: The view was insane and the price was great
Cons: dirty sheets, uncomfortable bed, gross bathtub
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The view was magnificent, food in the restaurant delicious, nice, small pool, with comfy lounge chairs, handy kitchenette, very pleasant and helpful staff. Another thing we liked was the huge bottle of fresh water in every room. We kept cold water in the fridge and refilled water bottles for day trips. A very important reduction of plastic and expense! For a three star hotel, this is a find! Some might find goi g up and down 163 rough cut stone stairs is too much to go into town but we found it to be great exercise. Taxis are 60 pesos to and from the beach or town center. Several retun guests had a car rental.
Cons: No hair dryer--bring one!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean, well run hotel. Postcard views of the bay. Great staff on duty all day they were a big help. The excellent restaurant right on site and open all day.
Cons: Location, it is a hike down to the beaches and to the town.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The view The staff The restaurant The facilities
Cons: That we were not able to stay longer !
8.0 Excellent
Pros: it has a restaurant!
Cons: Don’t rent room #13, it is under the pool deck. Noisy when desk chairs are moved around.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: What's not to like?? Our view was amazing. It overlooked the entire Zihua bay with all of the boats and beaches. Our sunrise views were spectacular. We stayed for a month and our room was immaculately cleaned daily. We had a kitchenette that had everything we needed to cook our meals if we wanted. The pool was awesome! The hotel has 12 rooms so the pool didn't need to be huge but it was always clean and the perfect refreshing temperature. The lounge chairs had umbrellas enough to make everyone happy. Both the hotel staff and the restaurant staff were like family from the first day we were there!!

Pros: The outstanding staff who helped me with discovering things to do.
6.3 Good
Pros: Friendly, helpful staff. Clean room. Good price.
Cons: The bed was hard as cement. The air conditioner had no settings. It was either on or off and blew right on you as you slept. Because there was no blanket on the bed, we froze all night. It was the worst night’s sleep ever.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The staff were excellent. Very hard working, pleasant and helpful. I had a fridge my room but paid more for the better room.
Cons: No cooking facilities except for a microwave. There were a few rooms with kitchenette but too expensive. It was quite a walk to the nearest beach and good restaurants so the location was not ideal without a car. It was noisy at times, and wifi only really good in the lobby.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean. Owner very friendly and helpful.good value for the money.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Good location - away from the noise but close to everything you need.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff, friendly and very helpful. Any requests immediately dealt with. Security is very good. All shuttles were easy to get to. Easy walk to restaurants.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff is outstanding. Christian, Brian, and Juan were all very helpful. My room was very clean.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very friendly, courteous and knowledgeable. The father spoke Spanish, French and English. His son spoke Spanish and English. This made it very easy to converse with them and get info and help in planning dinners out and travel, etc.
Cons: We did not especially like our first room. We thought it was a one bedroom with separate kitchen, but everything was in one large room. They had a larger 2 bedroom with kitchen available and offered it to us for a minimal charge to upgrade. That made our stay better.

Cons: The bed is very uncomfortable, the a.c. and ceiling fan are very noisy, and we found cacroches in the room.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The service was great and friendly and the hotel was clean .
Cons: The receptionist charge me $7686.00 , he canceled the transaction and do the correct transaction for the correct amount but the other $7686.00 the bank didn't give me back the money yet . The hotel staff need to put more attention doing their job because this issue is a inconvenience for the costumers.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is located next to the market and is within easy walking distance to beaches & restaurants very clean and well run. Those looking for a more Mexican cultrual immersion will be happy with the location. As a single male traveller in my late 60's I walked back from beach restaurants and friends later at night or all times of day and always felt completely safe.
Cons: The rooms are basic no frills there are some coffee makers available and also I believe small fridges at extra cost and up to 4 flights of stairs to the rooms so not for everyone..Also English only can be an issue but translater apps work very well.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The Hotel management and staff were excellent. Service was prompt the staff were friendly and checking in and out was very good.

I've stayed here several times and will return. Everyone at the hotel is super welcoming and kind.

Pros: Room was clean. Staff were friendly, but minimal English..
Cons: Shower door was hard to close all the way so bathroom floor would get wet when I showered. Would be nice to have a small fridge in the room..

Pros: We have been coming to Zihaut for years. This is the hotel that checks all the boxes. On the beach, great pool, bar, restaurant, walkable to the city center and all the perfect touches of Mexican graciousness. The staff were incredible. Likey the best hotel in Zihaut.

Pros: Fabulous location and gracious and accommodating staff!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Its a beautiful property and the staff is excellent. Great positive response to requests and they go the extra mile. The rooms and the views were exceptional. Oh and their restaurant supper!
Cons: There are a lot of stairs if your room is high on the hill.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful, friendly and helpful service from everyone there: especially Carlos, Martin, Jesus and Miguel. If your Spanish isn't great (mine certainly isn't), that is not a problem; their English is very good. The hotel is a little bit of heaven: only 30 rooms but with a good restaurant, bar with a great view over the bay, lush landscaping, lovely pool (with wait staff) plus the hotel is right on the beach. There's even a spa for massages, mani pedi etc. If you like excellent service in a small hotel with unbelievable value in an authentic Mexican fishing town (warts and all) that has lots of very good restaurants (from basic, inexpensive Mexican to fancy expensive international) this is the spot for you. If you want a huge, flashy, sterile hotel with lots of nightlife, multiple pools and lots of people eating and drinking all they can, then please go to Cancun.
Cons: No complaints, but If I had to pick something it would be the spotty wifi. That being said, I went to relax not to surf the Internet or spend time on facebook

Cons: Liked everything !
10.0 Excellent
