The transfer from Domestic and International was a bit confusing but I am easily confused. I did not eat any food, but the food on the other leg was decent. It was nice they turned the lights off on the night flight. The plane was in good shape, but was a little cramped in economy and I am small. They gave me a customs form to fill out and nobody looked at it as I went through customs. Not a bad flight.

Service on board was excellent. Flight attendant was very helpful. I wish the website is more functional. I can't even choose seats online and had to call the customer service. During check-in at the counter in CGK, I saw a printed page about paying for the bulkhead and exit row seats, so I asked the staff at the check-in counter. I was told that the flight is full and there isn't any seats available for paid upgrade. When I boarded the plane, I saw so many bulkhead and exit row seats empty and asked the flight attendant. He allowed me to purchase the upgrades on board. It would have been nice if I could purchase the upgrades ahead of time, eg. During online check-in or bag drop at the airport. The economy seats in the A350-900 are arranged in 3-3-3 configuration. Seat width is a bit tight for me.

Extra seat belt across the chest 10 minutes before taking off and 15 minutes before landing seemed excessively safe.

Excellent service. departed on time, and arrived ahead of schedule. The whole restrictions around no food/drink is a bit weird even with Covid. Also, no mobiles and iPad use during takeoff and landing is very 2006!

Lunch Food was tasteful and had variety. Seat was comfortable. However, when I was reserving my seats during booking, the seat configuration showed was 3-3-3, but when I boarded it was a 2-4-2 configuration? Also during booking, I had also bought travel insurance together with my TG booking. However there was no confirmation of my purchase from Allianz and TG. After several emails with TG contact, sales, reservation and Allianz was i able to confirm my insurance purchase. When the policy was issued, the birth dates of me and my wife were wrongly stated and I had to go through another round of emails with Allianz to get it corrected. Otherwise any claims would be void! It was indeed not a very good booking experience!

Overview of Thai Airways

Those that decide to fly with Thai Airways have three travel classes to choose from: Economy, Royal Silk, and Royal First. With an Economy ticket, you will have access to the plane’s entertainment system, earplugs, eye masks, and a hot meal, while Royal Silk will give you a seat that converts into a bed as well as free alcoholic beverages. If you decide to fly Royal First, you will be given a private pod, free access to Wi-Fi, and a complimentary toiletry kit.

Although this airline is based in Thailand, it operates flights throughout the world, primarily to destinations like Europe, Asia, and Oceania. For those that would like to take a trip to Europe, you can go to countries such as Belgium, Denmark, Germany, and the United Kingdom. If you are opting to go to Asia instead, places like Malaysia, the Philippines, and Japan are particularly popular.

Thai Airways has two subsidiaries, which are THAI Smile and Nok Air. The company also maintains codeshare agreements with many other airlines, including EgyptAir, Turkish Airlines, and Air New Zealand. Additionally, it is a member of the Star Alliance, which is known for being the largest airline group in the world.

Out of the almost 80 aircraft that make up this company’s fleet, almost all of them are either Airbus or Boeing. The Boeing 777-300ER is the most commonly used plane, as it can fit over 345 people and can be employed for both medium-range and long-haul flights. For particularly long voyages, the Airbus A380-800 is used instead, as it fits over 500 passengers.
