Good location and very helpful staff nice overall hotel. I didn't have any negative experiences.
The comfortable bed and pillow selection. The bathroom facilities were bigger than usual and relaxing. The parking spaces were too small, and a little too close to the red light district for my liking.
Due to its handy location for me I always try to stay here as a first choice but "only if I can get it booked at the right price.t". The staff are great and attentive As I've always found them to be. Buffet breakfast is good also. The roms I stay in are nothing much to brag about, a bit on the smallish side for me. If it's a four star hotel I'd have to say the rooms are only three star. Security in this hotel is good also. it's great and handy for the Airport Shuttle to pick you up on the way to the airport. Matter of fact, this hotel is a favorite for a lot of airline crews. Probably because of that. Room sizes are a bit small for my liking but hey, this is Sydney where it's hard to find a decent hotel room nowadays for under $200 a night. In comparison to what else is on offer, the Holiday Inn Potts Point is a good hotel in a good location.
Its a good location at the Cross and a 5 min walk to the heart of the City. The Rooms a clean and crisp with up to date equipment (Flatscreen TV, Iron ect.)
Great location to the tram, food and Hyde park and all other attractions.
Efficiency of checking in and out. Location for business, shopping and dining. Ability to park vehicle.
Seemed new and clean
Comfortable room. Good in house dining facilities after an exhausting day with medicos. Pleasant place to unwind and discuss issues even at a late hour for eating, 9pm. Value for money. If we have further medical issues in the Darlinghurst / Potts Point area we would stay at the Holiday Inn again.
Great value good service nice location friendly staff , great nightlife and resturants Unfortunate that you have to pay for internet service, I believe it should be included in the price of the room. Not a big deal though.
The staff was excellent. The location of the hotel isn't in the best place. It is not something that would keep me from staying there again.
The spacious room, decor and location. On check-in, the pool of water on the bathroom floor (not just a splash from the shower), the dry towel on the floor behind the bathroom bin (which had not been used to mop up the water but seemed to have been thrown there) and the bin at an angle in the middle of the bathroom. It looked like housekeeping had left in a hurry without finishing the room. I called reception and they were up in a flash with a mop. This was probably just a once-off but makes you wonder. Re the 2 questions below, my answer is neither yes, nor no and I haven't read the guest reviews. I have stayed there before and found it conveniently located and with attractive decor. Shame the restaurant was closed on the days I stayed there.
The uniqueness of the hotel decration
Very clean and beds were very comfortable. Wide screen TV was great. I did not like the $100.oo being taken out of my c.card account and being told it could take up to 5 days to be put back in! Parking charge of $35 per day was also a bit rich. Could have had an information booklet containing information about the general area & surrounds in the room. Charge for in room films were too high.
The rooms were lovely and very comfortable and the location was fabulous Internet access is very expensive and there is no breakfast in the hotel
The TV does not pick all the new free to air digital channels eg it receives Go but not 72 and One. I would also like to see the room service menu a bit broader than Italian and Indian.
Small, personal hotel with cleanly designed rooms that work well but are becoming frayed around edges. Lack of wi-fi in room. Low light available on otherwise well designed workspace. I think a desk light was missing.
hotel was well placed for shopping, restaurants, and sight seeing.
Nice service. Staff works hard. You can tell the staff works hard to make this hotel nice, room was almost spotless. Being right next to the red light district, arriving at 11pm is not advised -_-"
friendly ,helpful staff, spacious room;ideal location, value for money, we'll be back again
This boutique hotel is located in a restored house built in 1892. Staff were welcoming and friendly, and the hotel has amazing character and charm. Our room on the first floor had a private outdoor sitting area where we enjoyed a complimentary glass of Port and sherry provided when we arrived. The room was charming and clean, the bed comfortable, and the full breakfast provided was delicious. We would definitely stay here again, and have recommended it to our friends and family.
the staff were very friendly, and took a genuine interest to your stay, the building was superb and the rooms were very well kept
Beautiful old historic home turned B and B. Good service, good food, great room. Loved it.
Ree, the "innkeeper," offered every bit of support that we could have asked for on our 1st visit to Sydney...the neighborhood is pretty and hip and offers some great eateries, particularly, Fratelli Fresh. We enjoyed our stay very much. Some people might call the decor "elegant," but I call it "fusty;" the public rooms are creaky and Gothic in an unappealing way. However, everything worked...no issues with maintenance. Weirdly, I was unhappy to be awakened at 6 AM by a local bunch of squawking cockatoos...who knew? I would have liked to sleep until 8.
Charming building conveniently placed with very attentive staff Parking difficult
Friendliness, helpfulness and flexibility of the stay our room had no windows
wonderful hotel, run by a lovely couple and their staff. nothing was too much trouble for them, they helped plan trips, gave recommendations on places to eat and were extremely attentive, they made your holiday as relaxing as they could I would recomment Simpsons Hotel to anyone no
The owners and staff are all extremely helpful. The house is beautiful and in a wonderful location - far enough from the city center to have a great neighborhood feel, but close enough to make all touring quite easy. Although I think they view themselves as a luxury B&B, it is time for a bit of an update. In particular, the bathroom could use a remodel.
The whole experience was totally fantastic - beautiful place to stay in every aspect. The towels weren't as big as I'd like!
The walk trough the botanical garden closed by. And the help from Keith to find all the nice corners and spots in Sidney. Some rooms are very dark.
The owners took personal interest in the clients. The room was ready ahead of time and their information with maps and brochures was excellent. They offered free wi-fi which was also a big help with airline reservations and e-mail home to the US! Thank you
It is not mention on the web site that the room gets cleaned every 3 days only. Not that I have a problem with it, however, I think this should be made clear from the beginning.
Location Not Clean, Very poor bathroom facility
Near to the Railway station, shops etc. Internet connection provided at concession rates. The ensuite ( bathroom & toilet) was very small. Could not even turn around while bathing. Could not enjoy bathing.
we were suprise it was so convenient such as near King Cross Station ) & food ( like fish market/convenient store & numerous cafe ) there is nothing to complaint with such value for money accommodation
I think you should say whether the room that someone is going to get or is available does not have a view - mine looked straight into another room across the central 'well' of the buidling - yuk! Also the hotel was very noisy at night - so much for being advertised as a quiet place!
Location is excellent, close to transport, shopping, entertainment, restaurants. There is a small cafe at front of hotel (separate business) with excellent coffee. Night time noise is very bad. Other guests slamming doors, noise of arguments and sexual activity went on till early hours of morning over 2 nights. Noise from room on upper floor above our room ++++.
Not much The room is too small
The location and price, easy access to trains and Kings Cross
address，environment of outside tiny, tiny. I have been here 2days but only one day stuff for bath.
quite near to centre of kings cross, outside well renovated. no cleaning of the room for 4 days, room quite dark since window to a smll and narrow court. one of the light bulbs missing. no shampoo in shower. At arrival door of shower out of rails, I repaired it. Staff at reception seemd to be not very competent, took long timt to check in, buying internet access took also long time, complicate process.
The location. The hotel was run down and needs renovation. However, we knew this when booking so there were no unpleasant surprises.
Friendly accommodating staff
Location is about the only positive. The room was tiny, smelled, in desperate need of a paint. Extremely noisy. Bathroom wasn't even on my floor. Housekeeping knocking on the door @7.30am on a Sunday morning.
Nothing --- very disappointing, this hotel should be advertised on your site as a backpackers everything, I have used your site for lots of bookings and this is the first dud I have encountered
Close to city/trains Although breakfast was supposed to be included it wasn't provided. Rooms were very small. We were also at the top (on the 4th floor), with no lifts.
Location There is no security guard or receptionists after 9.30 pm. It was very unsafe in the building
Location location location Needed Paint
very good value for a budget hotel, helpful staff, free WIFI, reasonably quiet and clean and very well situated - easy to get into town and to the airport. room rather small for two people and a terrace to sit outside would have been nice
easy place to get to and from Room very, very small.Even the fridge door would not open as bed was in the way.Bathroom was on another level, kitchen very small and was supposed to have breakfast supplied there but could not find it.
The location is good, near the train station. Toilet/shower rooms shared , have to walk down the hallway - Inconvenient if travelling with small children. I would recommend this hotel for young travellers, but not to those travelling with children / elderly people.
The hotell staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel was full of young people creating a great juyful atmosphere.
i really enjoyed myself while i was there that i couldent stay longer
No air con
Convenient location My single room booked over Internet the previous day did not exist when I arrived. You must fix this!
Free shuttle bus from airport (if you book 2 or more night ;) ) Really clean room and bathroom. A lot of rental car company not too far from hotel.
cheap and close to where we wanted to stay toilets and shower area was unclean. Condoms left in showers!!!!
The staff was wonderful and very helpful. They were always very eager to dispense great advice, book anything we'd need, and were generally great. I was surprised to see that, although the clientele was young, there really wasnt' noise after a certain hour - they were serious about making sure people in the neighborhood and hostel will be able to get some sleep. I would definitely recommend staying there, it's a great and quiet location. I dont' really think the price justified the room we got.
Close to public transport cheap food options at hostel spacious dining area/lounge We booked online and they had no record of it. No luggage storage for larger luggage inflexible staff Dining room smells bad poor internet
Very close to Kings Cross Not very helpful staff
