10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a great stay in the studio, it was very clean, spacious and charming. The guesthouse is ideally located in the heart of Sintra. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Great breakfast. Thanks.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything.
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Friendly staff patiently explained the sights, parking/traffic. Information etc. Good guest room guide book. New, fresh, modern facilities. Breakfast was very healthy, freshly cooked and tasty. A well cared for establishment thoughfully managed by owners. Someone is clearly good at IT so there are no door keys (only code numbers) and the WiFi works well.
Cons: Sadly the email about traffic and parking got lost in my junk mail. Don’t go to Sintra by car! Check in is only between 3-6pm without prior arrangement. Our room was in an Annex about 30m down the road, with its own shared lounge and honesty bar. A nice building and not a problem.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great friendly facility brilliantly located.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is amazing, right at the center of historic Sintra! The room was super clean and tidy, it had all the facilities including a fridge, microwave and a poker set :) Breakfast was great, a lot of selection & fresh products.
Cons: Nothing, it was perfect!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hosts were so lovely, making our check in easy and efficient, they had a breakfast box ready the next day as our flight was early coming home. We received advice on restaurants, a map of the town and information about buses and attractions. Room was perfect and included a high tech fan to keep us cool.
Cons: The bathroom curtain is old and came loose when I was using the shower, other than that there were no cons!

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast selection was excellent. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Pool area was very well equipped and managed. Golf courses were quiet and in very good condition. Plenty of activities to keep us occupied. In hotel shops were good. Particularly liked the tapas at the golf course and the beach restaurant at Estoril.
Cons: Reception desk was always very busy. I felt when hiring a buggy for golf it should be equipped with water included in the price and also free range tokens provided for people paying to play the course - it just felt as though we were being charged for every little thing. Bread and oil was placed on the tables, unordered, and then included in the bill - I think your staff should ask if it is wanted rather than make that assumption.
6.7 Good
Cons: Everything was very over priced
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Resort ground was nested in the surrounding hills and forests. Bike and run trails through the golf course and forest. Comfortable bed and pillow. Large gin selection at the main bar. Friendly and helpful staff all around.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful facility with an excellent staff we would absolutely go back and the views were breathtaking
Cons: Wouldn’t change anything great stay
5.8 Okay
Pros: Amazing green fields well taken care. Friendly and highly educated staff.
Cons: The hotel looks like it is frozen in time. It needs definitely an upgrade to align with the high end price. The rooms look like they were extract from an old movie, with very old furniture and giant old phones. The bathroom is big but it also needs some upgrades. The shower was constantly falling down and almost injuring us. The breakfast was very crowded and they make you wait in a queue. Not compatible for this hotel price range. The pool adult area was almost empty every day because is the most windy corner. And to help the water was frozen cold. No one can enjoy that gorgeous pool.
7.1 Good
Pros: Location.
Cons: It doesn't deliver what the price promises. Staff is very friendly and wants to help, but it seems like the management structure doesn't allow you to actually get what you need/want. Simple requests (like: can I have a paper napkin at breakfast) take far too much time and effort (10 min + manager had to help...).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A little oasis away from the crowds.
Cons: More variety at breakfast.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Excellent hotel.
Cons: The food in the Acqua restaurant!
7.5 Good
Cons: several small surprises charges
6.7 Good
Pros: A lots off interesting stuff for kids and for adults.Very good breakfast.Nature.
Cons: Hotel really needs some renovations.Weather quiet cold compare to Lisbon.Difference of 5 degree C.

Cons: 10 euro room service fee is a little greedy on top of the prices

7.1 Good
Pros: Location brilliant. Close to restaurants. Staff just great. Parking is free.
Cons: The shower water was very very weak and management could not do a thing although we were on the first floor where the pressure should have been strong. Breakfast clearing was done thus making the guest clear their own tables. Fungus on the bread means fresh bread is not served.

5.8 Okay
Pros: The room was Ok, a bit on the smallish side.
Cons: Its really all about value for money. They are way overpriced. For that money they should have been staffed better and show some smiles. The photos on booking are from the best wing of the hotel, I got a room that kind of resembled was I ordered but not quite. I think the second floor is the lesser one,
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The beds, the view, location, sitting rooms, everything! The staff was amazing!
Cons: I cannot think of a single thing that could be better. Everything was excellent!

Pros: I liked everything! From the breathtaking walk on the entrance to the wonderful interiors, including the very much helpful and charming service. The room was spacious and classy. Breakfast included all kind of fruit varieties you can imagine, set in nicest room of the entire building. The outdoor area was incredibly cozy and beautiful. I hope we can repeat anytime soon.
Cons: Not having more time to stay

Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This place is amazing!! The building and garden are stunning. The staff are very helpful and arrange reservations for you. The rooms are beautiful with everything you need. Amazing view, your own entrance, tea facilities, INCREDIBLE SHOWER. The also offer free glasses port and they have an honesty bar for wine and coffee. The breakfast is in their cafe which is very popular and it definitely keeps you full for the day. I asked them to remove the meat and the boiled egg as I’m vegetarian and they were very accommodating and added some extra fruit. Stay here, you will not be disappointed.
Cons: The honesty bar was slightly overpriced for the wine.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Historic building with lots of charm, very comfortable room, beautiful views, and convenient to Sintra. Staff also gave excellent restaurant recommendations which we very much appreciated.
Cons: Nothing, it was awesome!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: A wonderful place, creating right mood, and it deserves special attention. Counting with dates when the room was available here the whole trip to Portugal was arranged, so much I liked the hotel, and everything turned out in the best way. This is a small recently renewed chalet for 10 or so rooms. Both the rooms and all common areas are very comfortable and with great attention to details, with elements of art deco, the spirit of the hotel is right in tune with the city and is located in the historical center. I definitely recommend to everyone who is going to Sintra, and the price is reasonable, especially counting great breakfast is included
Cons: Just in case chalet people read this please renew the towels in bathrooms, all the rest is wonderful
7.1 Good
Cons: We booked a superior suite and were disappointed. We stayed in room 15 at the top of the house (the one in the roof space shown on the website). Guest comfort and usability were not considered well when this room was renovated. Our advice - do not book room 15.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly people and complimentary port wine. The room was clean and spacious and we enjoyed the garden.
Cons: Internet did not work well. I couldn't stay connected to it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The breakfast at their cafe around the corner was outstanding. We got the suite with the stone walls which opened to the garden as we requested..
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast (provided at a little cafe around the corner) was complete with juices, fruit, meats & cheeses, yogurt, pastry, bread, egg (hard boiled), coffee or tea. I also had a hot pot to boil water for tea. Hotel staff: Joao, the evening staffer was very helpful and delightful to talk with, he spoke perfect “American” he also had my luggage moved to my room waiting for me to checked in.
Cons: There is no lift so if ur located in the downstairs rooms you may have some issues with roller duffles negotiating the very narrow circular staircase.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfectly charming and romantic. We had a lower level room with a shared courtyard garden and koi pond. The room was well appointed, immaculately clean and very quiet.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent views from the balcony and the staff were very helpful in providing advice and recommendations

Cons: Nothing to complain or comment about great place relaxed atmosphere with lovelly rooms.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly amazing location and wonderful place. I actually feel bad about recommending it because I'd like to keep it as a secret for myself!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Lovely rural location with an excellent view of Sintra from the pool area.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location for a quiet relaxing time. Beautiful scenery and gardens with a wonderful host. Close to Sintra and beaches. 10 mins in a car. Highly recommended!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The appartment was great, super comfy bed! At check-in we got a lot of great tips from Marcel, very helpful! Also stay there a few days, to get time to relax by the pool. There is a snack-bar but bring your own in you need something specific.
Cons: The breakfast was a bit late, if you wanted to get to a castle
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely people, great place to relax and enjoy life.
Cons: Room can be a little muffe, when weather conditions are humid.
7.1 Good
Pros: Great location for a 2 night stay in Sintra, with the property only a 10 minute drive into the main town, and also only around 10-15 minutes to the coast. The room was clean, comfortable with a nice bathroom. Pool area was lovely with a great view of the surrounding area and Pena Palace in the distance. The property can serve food during the daytime, in which the Mixed salad in particular stood out as being excellent.
Cons: We found our stay somewhat of a mixed bag. On our first morning at breakfast, we had to set our own table, as well as then asking someone to clear the table from the previous people who sat there. The staff on duty seemed flustered and not on top of breakfast service at all. Lots of breakfast items were missing, the omelette was too salty and the coffee empty. It’s not good when you have to keep asking staff to do things every few minutes. Breakfast on the whole should be of a better standard for the room rate. Our toilet bin was not emptied during our entire stay, despite asking the staff to do so, and then saying that they would sort. Pretty from considering you have to put your toilet paper in the bin and not the toilet. There is no information provided to say that your honesty bar bill or food ordered from the snack menu during your stay had to be settled in cash upon checkout. The lady seemed most put out that she had to get the card machine for me to pay the bill. This could be communicated to guests much clearer. I think this property could be fantastic with a few changes in their staff (especially during breakfast), as our whole stay here felt extremely mediocre.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, rural but not far to visit Sintra, the coast and Lisbon. Friendliness and helpfulness of the staff ( Sonia, Marcel and owner Tina). Lovely filling breakfast, beautiful quiches and cake☺️. Comfortable, well appointed room, quiet location and lovely weather helped.
Cons: Nothing. Everything was perfect.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We just returned from family vacation in Portugal and stayed the last few nights at Quinta Verde. We had an amazing stay! The property and grounds were amazing! So beautifully manicured and maintained. Even though there were other guests on the property, it felt like we had the entire villa to ourselves at most times, very private but staff was attentive at the same time. Marcelo was amazing! He was super accommodating and communicative; full of useful tips about the surrounding area and went well above and beyond in hospitality. Tina and staff (Anna, etc.) were all lovely and made us all feel right at home. We definitely plan to return and stay again but will do so for a longer period of time.

Featured amenities include a business center, express check-in, and express check-out. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed from 11-13 Aug. Well located, literally 5 minutes from the train station. The staff were very helpful. We were given a basement room, with view of the garden/ lounge area. We had a massive room with a massive bathroom. For some reason, we were given a room equipped for a person with disability- but we did not mind - because it was so spacious, in every aspect! Breakfast was amazing! The hotel was walking distance to the bus stop where we could catch the bus to the National Pena Palace. It was also not far to walk to the town centre - and the journey towards the town centre was picturesque.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Modern, rooms well equipped, good breakfast, close to the station, easy and attractive walk to the Palace.
Cons: Poor sound insulation.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast is good. And we like the coffee and some pastries provided daily and free of charge in the basement.
Cons: NO.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, amazing staff, helped with questions, keep our baggage after checkout. And breakfast was very nice!
7.1 Good
Pros: The staff are outstanding; friendly, helpful and pro-active when dealing with problems. The location is excellent, the garden is lovely and the breakfast was great. Our bed was comfortable but being on the top floor it had a sloping roof-which meant the only places you could stand up straight we’re the bathroom and each side of the bed. The bathroom was well appointed and had everything you needed.
Cons: Two major issues dragged the score for this hotel down significantly: 1. There is air con in the rooms but they are not individually controlled so on our first night everyone on our air con circuit had the temperature set at 25C for the night. The rooms at the front of the hotel look out to building works (see below) and several late night bars so opening the window meant a lot of street noise throughout the night and then again early in the morning. So no sleep. When we raised this at reception they took immediate action which we were really grateful for, setting everyone’s air con to 20C which was welcome when it’s 33C outside! 2. There are building works being done in the adjoining building and the building across the street. That included using a large drill to remove plaster from the wall adjoining our bathroom. So no sleep after 7.30am and no siesta in the hottest part of the day either. And lots of headache tablets. This isn’t the hotel’s fault and there was absolutely nothing they could do about it, but as a guest, I’m looking for peace and quiet and to be able to sleep in the room. Two nights of insomnia and two days of non-stop drilling = bad rating. If the building works we’re finished we’d stay here again but I’d recommend rooms at the back of the hotel, looking into the garden and on the lower floors if you’re tall.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: staffs spoke amazing english and they were incredibly kind
Cons: nth
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great location, friendly and helpful stuff, nice overview
Cons: Low ceiling, breakfast
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very helpful staff , clean room and central location. Very good breakfast.
6.3 Good
Pros: Breakfast was good, coffee at breakfast was great Clean rooms Reception-Pedro was very friendly Nice location
Cons: - my room was roof top room, I hitted those walls and ceiling many times, that height is for children only, an adult cant be accommodated in such type of rooms. I have asked to change twice, however was told that hotel is fully booked, which I do understand, only I cant understand why for same price I had to leave in such conditions and walk on my knees - could hair my neighbors talking , noise isolation isn't the best - bathroom water pressure was poor - no hot water in sink
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Super clean, great room at the back, great location!
Cons: Nothing, just perfect. Thanks!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was pretty central, only a 10 minute walk to the centre of Sintra but there were a few bars and restaurants opposite us. Only a 2min walk from the train station which was very handy! Staff were friendly enough and the beds were very comfy.
Cons: The breakfast wasn't up to much I'm afraid, I only had it once whilst there. Perhaps also move the vending machine from opposite the rooms...we had a VERY grumpy guest come out of his room and shout at us because we had woke him up whilst getting water!

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice breakfast, beautiful location, very comfortable, except our 3rd bed option for our adult daughter that was too soft( it was a cot), not a real bed as was listed
Cons: That our 3 beds were not 3 beds. A cot for an adult is not a bed. Plus having breakfast outside on terrace was too cold!!! Unpleasant
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Family B&B, like at Home. Lots of suggestions from hosts. Good room (Nr.1) with big bathroom and all facilities.
Cons: B&B Not really easy to find, car with Navy-System or Googlemap is a must! Few restaurants in the nearby, but there is a good portuguese restaurant 1.5km far from the B&B.

Cons: Breakfast was minimal and unappetizing.

Pros: Excellent breakfast.
Cons: Bed a little lumpy.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location with great view of the Moore Castle, nice rooms and very helpful staff who aided us with everything we needed. Very tasty breakfast. I highly recommend this hotel.
Cons: Nothing, everything was perfect
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The beautifully maintained patio is worth the money alone. Views of the Moorish castle from an almost tropical garden. Beautiful. Room was clean and well maintained as was the bathroom. Breakfast was the excellent (apart from the coffee). Located very near the station and the buses for Pēna, it could not have been better.
Cons: Although we loved everything about Hotel Nova Sintra we didn't like the coffee from the coffee machine. But that was all!!
6.7 Good
Pros: Staff were very nice and helpful. The location is okay, just a 15min walk from the historical city center (which is very nice).
Cons: Room misses some charm but okay overall.

Cons: Nothing
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The place is very good located, looks nice, great terrace. The two Best things were the breakfast which was perfect and the kind service. Rue was super kind and helpful. Also the bed is very comfortable.
Cons: Maybe it is the high season and maybe because it’s Sintra- but the price is high for the type of room we received, we were offered to upgrade for 30 euros but it was expensive as it is so we didn’t. The most basic room is just fine, not more. Small and small shower. Everything else but the small room was great.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Excellent breakfast, very friendly and helpful staff. Nice rooms with all facilities.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff on arrival, very welcoming. Clean comfortable rooms and great air conditioning! Gorgeous sun terrace and very nice breakfast! Would return!
Cons: A little noisy, but to be expected with location!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The place is magic! The room was clean and cozy, breakfast right on time was really good! We enjoyed our staying there and we’d recommend it to anyone who’s looking for peace and relax, but still close to Sintra city center!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Loved the atmosphere, amenities and service. Beautiful property with beautiful views. I would definitely come back. Only notes for me is that the bed was very soft (i prefer a firm mattress) and Sintra in itself is very hilly. To get to restaurants you have a short walk, but getting there is a steep climb. You could find a hotel right in town to avoid the hills, but given the hot Portugal weather, we really wanted a pool so it was a fair tradeoff. I also found that Ubers were very cheap and easy to get around if you wanted to avoid some of the climbs.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The photo’s didn’t do it justice. The place was so beautiful. There was fresh fruit and herbs from the garden available every day. Loved it all!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: For us the location was ideal as a bit away from the hustle & bustle of the centre of Sintra with spectacular views. It's a bit of a hike up the hill to get to the historical centre but we didn't mind as downhill coming home after enjoying a wonderful meal plus a few drinks! Also super quiet at night so slept like babies. Lots of thoughtful touches to make guests comfortable such as fully equipped communal kitchen, drying rails for towels & clothes, baskets of fresh fruit from their gardens and water in rooms from font where you can also fill your own bottles.

Pros: A beautiful villa where you can feel a true portuguese vibe. The pool, the dining area are very cozy, in the evening time romantic! The double room on the second floor looking at Pena Palace was very spacious, clean, all prepared for me when I arrived. Breakfast beyond expectations, always ready when guests come down, all fresh and you can even smell the cruasans in the oven while in bed. These were the best cruasans I have ever had.:) The villa is lucky to have such lovely host Susana, wishing her all the best.
Cons: The distance to Sintra town was not the easiest for a person without a car, but Uber was a good help. For those guests with a car that should be no issue at all.

Pros: The house owner was really cosy and the property is just amazing! The room was clean and comfortable. In the house there is a small space where you can buy drinks and tipical snacks. It felt like home!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property is approx 3km from Sintra and the views of Castelo dos mourous and Palacio da Pena are stunning from the terrace. We were welcomed by the owner Susanna and made to feel very welcome- snacks and drinks are provided at a small cost (honesty bar) and we were encouraged to help ourselves to the fruit growing on the trees, apples, pears, plums, figs. Susanna also recommended the local restaurants, a short walk away. We enjoyed a swim in the pool before sitting on the terrace to soak up the views. Our bedroom was quiet, clean and comfortable. The breakfast served in the morning was fresh, delicious and plentiful and nothing was too much trouble. We were also kindly given a box of apples/pears on leaving. We would definitely recommend staying at this beautiful place.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: All the rooms we saw were super clean. Breakfast was excellent. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful. The room had everything we needed including good hairdryer, fruit, kettle. Pool water was a little refreshing temperature-wise. The proximity to the old town was not quite what we were expecting at around 10-15 minutes walk, just over a mile, but there are some shops closer along with the station.
Cons: Proximity to old town
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Loved the room. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Grounds were very enjoyable and always a relaxed, private experience.
Cons: The location was quiet, with a couple of great local restaurants just steps away. Grounds were very well maintained, comfortable, 24hr access to pool. Never crowded. Room was beautiful and well appointed. Extremely clean. Beds were very comfortable. Emily checked us in and was extremely helpful, informative and pleasant. Loved the attention and thoughtful advice she offered us. Excellent level of service, hospitality. We would absolutely, 100% stay at Villa das Rosas again. Thank you for a wonderful experience
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful Villa, lovely staff and great breakfast. Super relaxing would love to go back at some point and would definitely recommend to friends. There dinner recommendation was amazing too. Thank you.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is good and central. Beautiful Villa and spacious well kept grounds. Friendly and helpful staff. Fresh and healthy breakfast.
7.9 Good
Pros: The host was really nice and very helpful. The breakfast was lovely and everything was fresh including the freshly squeezed orange juice and freshly cooked eggs. There is a small but attractive pool surrounded by trees and shrubs and a large common room where you can just chill. Main building is lovely, very Portugese and tastefully furnished.
Cons: Unfortunately the room was too small, too hot, with no fan or air conditioning. The fan available was on a broken stand. We had nowhere to put our things, the shelf on one side of the bed was hanging off the wall, there were no bedside lamps and the hairdryer cable hardly reached the mirror. We should have looked properly when the host asked us if it was ok. On reflection, We should have asked for a bigger room, if one was available.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A 4 star guest house with 5 star service. Well located for the attractions and transport. Would definitely stay there again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was centrally located and we could walk, which we prefer, to see many of the sights. The staff were very helpful, and nice too
Cons: No complaints at all.

Cons: Only thing we could think that was missing (after a lot of thought) was a fridge in the room.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff, the location, the garden.
Cons: Room was a bit small. Extra fee for the egg during breakfast.

Pros: One of the best places we have stayed at. This place place is fantastic. The owner really has an eye for style and comfort and you can tell they really care and think about their guests. The staff here are the best! They give you 5 star treatment, nothing is too much and they are very warm and welcoming to you. This is a high value place for many reasons: the property is kept exceptionally well, the grounds are beautiful, the staff!, the rooms & beds are very comfortable, the decor throughout the building is very stylish & pleasant and they offer laundry service and the place is very very clean. Highly recommended. We will definitely be back if we are in the area again. Also, not too far from the Sintra Palace & Castle which we visited and really enjoyed, worth going to see!

Cons: A little far away from the main part of town
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Nice big room, good area to discover the lovely Sintra, nice host!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: This was my first time traveling here, the price was right sight unseen & I was pleasantly surprised! I was running late for check in but Elena was waiting with a warm smile. The studio room has a very comfy bed & sheets, blackout drapes, a kitchenette with small fridge/utensils/pans/microwave/etc, bathroom with a very roomy shower stall k first aid kit(!). I chose to pay for the breakfast which ran from 8:30-10:30, there were 5 different jams, scrambled eggs, ham, cheese, breads, yogurt, juices, coffee, fruit, etc. Marta was lovely, a very good hostess & able to converse with everyone....I wonder how many languages she can speak. The breakfast area is in the main house, then up another flight of stairs, where you also find coffee/tea & sitting area & tv I think. Under the breakfast table glass were thank you notes from previous guests, especially children, lovely and very cozy.
Cons: Too many keys, one for outside gate, one for main house and one for my room. Maybe they could be marked which is for which door, was confusing in the dark. Also, Apple & google maps have the property listed on the wrong street, I did report it to Apple.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: It is very clear that the owner has eye to detail. The rooms are very spacious and well designed. The gated lawned outdoor area , the restaurant and the upper terrace are beautiful. Parking is also very easy. Location is comfortable if you have a car.
Cons: The manager could improve her approach. Service with a smile could give this property s 5 star rating. The check process can be improved.

Pros: Wonderful property with a beautiful garden pool area to relax and cool off in. Centrally located, an easy walk into town. The owner and her daughter Phillipa were so nice and gave us great tips for how to arrange our day. There is so much to see in Sintra and they guided us perfectly! I loved our room, it was spacious with a beautiful large bathroom. Great historic house with parking! I would definitely stay here again.
Cons: Nothing. It was great.
7.9 Good
Pros: The overall location and the way the villa garden is designed.
Cons: The room that we were allocated was in the basement and the sound proofing was bad, we could hear everything from the room upstairs.

Pros: Everything. Magical place.
Cons: Wish I could have stayed longer. Much much longer.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I am from the US and I am finding the beds throughout Europe very firm and with no mattress cover. I much prefer how I make my bed in the US! But other than that the bed was very nice.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Our room is inside a nicely decorated house with a beautiful garden. It is sparkling clean. Simple breakfast and very friendly host. We had a comfortable stay. The location is just excellent, just a short walk to the Centre. There is a big car park too.
Cons: Nil
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Quiet and nice surroundings with ample parking - once there easy arrangements for coming and going to visit all the beautiful places and friendly advice.
Cons: Just finding it in the first place as the streets were very steep and narrow!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was a perfect guest house for our stay in Sintra. The daughter of the owner (front desk) was welcoming and kind. It's an easy walk from the train station and into the center of town (except there is a hill, so wear good walking shoes). The grounds are beautiful. We didn't get to swim in the pool because it was a little too cold, but it looked nice and clean. We enjoyed a pleasant breakfast each morning of our stay. Both our rooms were very quiet and clean. It is also easy to catch an Uber in the front of the guest house. The wifi worked and the bed was comfortable. The shower always had hot water. I highly recommend the restaurant Incomum (walking distance from guest house) during your visit. We enjoyed the little historical touches like the well and the story of the poet that once lived there.
Cons: It was all lovely
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Large country house set in extensive leafy grounds with pool and outside seating areas. Quiet, ideal for reading, and as the name suggests, writing. Wonderful friendly staff and a lovely proprietor. Great breakfast. Easy access to Sintra town ( but not straightforward to find by car due to one-way systems)
Cons: Nothing
7.1 Good
Cons: can't visiting with pets, breakfast would be better
4.6 Okay
Pros: hospatility of the host. great welcome and explanations of the daughter.
Cons: the bongalow was musty/stale. the smell was therefore really stuffy. the windows were not clean, the terrase looked not maintained, leaves were not wiped away. we did not use the kitchen, a sink should shine. the gray carpet on the floor would better be moved away, it looks old, dity. all together gives not a welcoming impression. the bungalow was not appropriate for such a price level as we paid. it seemed like a long time ago since the room was properly cleand.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Dry charming house and garden. Very inviting. Our hostess Maria lovely and Jovita extremely friendly and helpful. Very comfy beds, incredible breakfast and Nespresso coffee.
Cons: With the road one way system changes in Sintra, don’t rely on the GPS but use a reliable road map! Keep in touch with owner for up to date changes.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: A charming old grand house with lovely garden, sitting room, breakfast room, etc. Lovely period appointments. We had a full attic conversion space. Bed fit a bit tightly in the sleeping area, but was the most comfortable we’ve had in Portugal. Attentive, but unobtrusive resident manager and an exceptional breakfast in elegant space next to the garden. 2 block walk to Sintra’s central plaza.
Cons: Card Payment machine didn’t work, and we had to walk to the plaza for an atm. Otherwise fine.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Sintra is a place with a romantic exotic past and this house mirrors that time, both it’s style and decor but also it’s delightful owner who was a wonderful source of advice and stories. We loved it!
Cons: Nothing!
6.7 Good
Pros: Hostess was very friendly and helpful. Sintra and surrounds were very special
Cons: Maintenance needed in house. Getting to the guesthouse was a nightmare. No signs in town and on the way to the guesthouse. Google maps did not work there. Sintra road changes....

Pros: Lovely setting, nice rooms, very helpful and friendly host and staff.
7.5 Good

Pros: Amazing large room with balcony on 5th floor with view of forest. Very large, comfortable bed and pillows. nice bathroom. Staff helpful and pleasant. Elevator! Great location. Lovely, historic hotel nestled in a beautiful location. Highly recommend.
Cons: WiFi not always reliable in bedroom but worked great in sitting room.
7.1 Good
Pros: location was great - easy walk to town. Breakfast was very good - we had dinner there too which was excellent .
Cons: it was definitely very pricey !!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We liked the historic feel and features of the hotel
Cons: We were allocated a room with disable en-suite. We should have been asked if we wanted or needed this, which we did not, or at least warned that we were being allocated this facility
5.4 Okay
Pros: The view from the room is AMAZING! Really lovely. The history of the hotel is really cool too, and the location is perfect for exploring Sintra. Just such a shame that they have clearly stopped trying to keep the standards high and are resting on their laurels - I'm sure it's just packed throughout the summer as Sintra is such a beautiful place.
Cons: I dont like to complain, but... We stayed in the William Beckford room. It's just not 5 star standard. No minibar, no extra blankets in room (it got cold at night) mattress is far too firm (and I like a firm mattress, but this was too much). I had to complain about a loud buzzing noise from the room which was an issue from the aircon from another part of the building. Staff took an hour to sort it out whilst we were trying to sleep - It was clearly not the first time they had the problem - any other establishment would have had it sorted out quickly. It ruined the stay to be honest and we were tired in the morning! When we checked out there was no apology for the issues. That would have gone a long way! Staff did not speak very good English which is not acceptable for a 5 star. The locals (who I wouldn't expect to) spoke far better!
5.0 Okay
Pros: The position
Cons: The reception staff was young, unskklled but good willing. For 5 stars they are so unprofi....First of all they gave us a very small room. They change the room with a better one. The parking....
7.1 Good
Pros: Central location and a decent cooked breakfast
Cons: Ground floor room no air con so windows need to be open but the downside to that was people outside smoking I was getting woffts of smoke. Also was told there was parking but in the real world they had 5 places in the street outside.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location, style, breakfast and absolutely the fantastic view and the room surrounded by trees and green
Cons: Anything. People could comain about the noise of floor when you walk in the night, or the old style... but is this the magic of that amazing place.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location and lovely room
Cons: Nothing
7.5 Good
Cons: I brought this as a gift for my friends and they were told it was not paid for. I had to advise the hotel to take from the card it used to process the booking
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Dinner exceeded expectations. Very comfortable common areas, spacious room. Very friendly staff.
Cons: No issues.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The view from the room was wonderful and the rooms are character rich, worth staying at Lawrences for that reason alone. Fresh air and open windows make Lawrences an excellent choice Food is good without being exceptional. Dinner is very good. Lawrences hotel is well placed nonetheless, an easy walk to the town center but be prepared for delays if you need vehicle transport at busy times.
Cons: Bathroom a little bit difficult for anyone with mobility issues and toilets are not for big people. Breakfast just average Location is not so good when SIntra is busy as roads can block with traffic and it takes a long time to get a short distance if in a taxi. Walking is the best way to get around but the road to Pena Palace on the mountain top can only be reached by car and that can take an eternity at busy times as road simply grid locks. Dont hire a car and drive to SIntra at peak times as there may not be anywhere to park.

Perfectly located in this UNESCO-listed town, it puts you within easy reach of attractions including the Palace of Monserrate and the Pena Palace. Stunning views are one of the hotel’s big attractions. You can see the Moorish Castle – and even as far as the sea – from the lobby balcony. Many of the 77 rooms offer terraces and balconies from which you can admire views of the medieval village, the Sintra Valley and the castle. Rooms are also equipped with Nespresso machines, free Wi-Fi and flat-screen TVs. 9.1 Excellent
Pros: We liked the location, staff were really nice, good breakfast! The view was spectacular!
Cons: A little bit old but overall nice hotel
9.4 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was in the perfect location. Right near city center and everything was within walking distance. IE the train station and the tour buses that took us up into the mountains. The staff was great and super helpful
Cons: The room could use some updating but that was about it. The lobby, bar, restaurant was all very nice
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Near center of town
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great room Hugh balcony amazing view next door to palace
Cons: Bit tired staff slow friendly but not in hurry to serve
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location, breakfast and if you are lucky to grab a parking spot on hotel side is very handy.
Cons: A pool would have topped off the accommodation
6.7 Good
Cons: Staff is completely non friendly
7.5 Good
Pros: The hotel was right in the centre walking to everywhere. The staff were friendly, we were lucky enough to have a car park in front of the entrance. We really enjoyed our stay a very pretty village.
Cons: Nothing.
6.3 Good
Pros: Good location
Cons: The hotel is visibly old, but partly refurbished. The rooms are ok, but for the price paid, one would expect a lot more. The breakfast area looks like it did back when it was built, but now it needs a proper paint job. All in all, if you like to be in the center of Sintra, stay there. Otherwise, not a good value for money. Looks like all the above stated goes for all Tivoli hotels in Portugal, unfortunately.
9.1 Excellent
Pros: Great location!
Cons: Parking is below the hotel and requires some fairly in depth maneuvering skills!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Everything else
Cons: Fabulous place. The shower didn't drain and was not up to snuff with the rest of the facilities.
4.2 Okay
Pros: Not much
Cons: Maintenance Issue It's a badly maintained hotel. The first room we were given had a cracked toilet seat and we were then offered a second room which had a loose metal piece around 60cm flicking in the air at the curtains. We chose the second thinking that was the best decision but then we found that the shower drain didn't work properly and the hot and cold water were installed incorrectly. This may seem minor but the hot water is super hot. Both rooms had a lot of mould in the bathrooms which a good mould remover could have fixed easily. The next day we were given our first room back with the toilet seat replaced. I noticed that the bathroom door was very damaged right across the bottom of the door. Maybe due to bathroom being flooded? You would have thought that would also have been an easy fix - like a bit of sanding and a bit of paint. Strange Incident When we informed the hotel of the cracked toilet seat and we were in the room waiting, a young girl in torn jeans barged in our room using her keycard. She didn't speak English so initially I thought one of the other guest's key card was coded to our room. I followed her out to the corridor and wanted her to go to reception with me. She kept shaking her head and she quickly disappeared into one of the side doors. I was slightly shocked by the incident wondering how lax security was in the hotel. I found out later that she was an employee who has just finished her shift so was wearing her normal clothes who had been told off about our room. She wanted to check the room for herself. Confusion About Parking We were told before booking that there should be parking at the front of the hotel and if there are none that parking was 10 Euro a day which was fine. We got to the hotel and was told that we had to park in their Carpark which we were ok with. However, 2 other parties who checked in after us were given parking at the front.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location in the heart of Sintra, near the palace. The room was big and well equipped. Breakfast was very good, with large and fresh verities. The private in-house covered large hotel parking (as there was no available publice/hotel parking outside the hotel). The staff was very freindly and cooperative.
Cons: Nil
