Pros (+) Location was great, the hotel staff was friendly. The hotel was also clean and smelled great.
Cons (-) The studio suite was small and had an open bath, which I knew about. What I wasn't expecting was the semi-private toilet room that's only separated by a partial glass door. Basically, you can speak with whoever is in there while laying in the bed fifteen feet away. My husband are local to the LA area and familiar with Pasadena, but wanted to escape overnight. We had plans for a fine dinner at Ruth Chris, and dancing after with the Pasadena Ballroom Dance Association. Cons (-) We were only on an overnight, and we did not have a need to use our car. $25 for overnight valet was a pretty stiff charge. We probably could have parked elsewhere for less, but it was offset some by the cute electric shuttle, and the ride we received within an easy radius of the hotel.

Pros (+) The staff were fantastic: very friendly and they went out of their way to make my stay comfortable. The room was clean and nicely appointed. The in-hotel food was great too. The location is good for CalTech, less than a mile to walk in. I have the impression that the hotel's rate is normally over the GSA limit but this time -- thankfully -- it was not.
Cons (-) There's really nothing I didn't like. No microwave but you really don't need one in this location (downtown Pasadena); there are restaurants everywhere.

Pros (+) Love the bathtub and heated toilet seat. King size bed so comfortable.
