Overall the hotel provides very good for money. Internet booking saved about 7 euros per night While we were there we booked an extra night for a fortnight later and were given suite style accommodation for that night, which was excellent recently refurbished accommodation. Swimming pool on the roof is a real bonus, with excellent views across the coastline. Accommodation very central, excellent position.There is a busy street below and the main bus and coach station, however, two layers of double glazed doors and thick curtains means that sleep is not a problem Other guest reviews I had seen were not as positive about the hotel as I thought they could be.

Cons: I originally booked a double bed but was told by the receptionist they only had single beds, a twin room, unless I wanted a view of the street with the bus station. I don’t want to pay 200 bucks in an empty hotel to watch buses. I had to compromise the bed for the view. It’s a great view that I looked at a few times. I slept in the bed for 2 nights. Ordered a drink to the room. Mini bar was empty. The tray charge was higher than the drink order. 9 Euro for a 4 Euro drink. In Faro, you rarely get what you want, what you pay for, but for short stays it’s not worth stressing about. The town is empty. You’d think they would make more effort with the guests who are here and paying their wages. Gym and spa closed due to the virus but this isn’t reflected in their current room prices. It should be.

Cons: The information of the facilities related to Covid. The spa facilities were closed while we asked for it when making the booking. Nevertheless, the pool was openand amazing.

Cons: Wifi didn't work, beds were crammed in- and there were three, when we only needed the one double- room service selection was really poor, facilities were ok but the pool was absolutely freezing, shower leaked everywhere and the bathroom grouting had mould growing on it, room temperature control didn't work so on a hot day was pouring out hot air into the room...to say it was a four star hotel it has two star qualities. Be glad the staff are fantastic because the rest of it was really poor. Would definitely never go back.

Breakfast was adequate, not as hot as it could be but was nice. We ate in the hotel on 3 evenings and the meals were very good. We would definitely stay here again.

Cons: Our room was over the (very good) restaurant, which of course has outside tables. This was not a problem in February as very few were occupied at night, but it would be noisy in summer as although the windows are double glazed, they are far from soundproof (I think it is because of the plastic panel at the bottom)

Cons: They need to attend to costless but needed repairs. Otherwise the hotel will fall into destepair. Lift did not work on arrival. Toiletpaper holder was not fixed properly. Washbasin the same. The restaurant toilet door could not lock. All small things that does not cost a lot to fix.

Cons: The lift from the ground floor was not working properly and this was for the duration of our stay which was 4 nights. Sometimes it worked and sometimes we had to walk up the stairs. It wasn't a problem for us but could be for someone who wasn't good with stairs. In fairness someone did come out to mend it on our 3rd day but didn't have the right part part with him so he was having to come back.

Pros: The personnel is very friendly and helpful. The place was very clean and there are lots of good measures to avoid contact and keep the place safe during the pandemic. The restaurant has one of the best food we tried in Faro. Totally recommend it. It is outstanding. The location was perfect, walking distance from the train station and the old town - a very pretty area with bars and restaurants. I can only give it 5 stars!

We went out to The Beach Club on the hotel's free shuttle and spent a very enjoyable afternoon walking along the beach and relaxing on the Sun beds on the top floor of the Beach Club. It's also worth a visit to the Chapel of Bones (Open from 10-1pm) Saturday. Used Uber for the 15 min Airport Drive.

Cons: There was nothing we didn't like. everything was really carefully done. We were tired from the trip and it was the best option after arriving late at Faro. It gave the best start to our trip.
