It was near the art museum, which was the main reason for my trip. There are good coffee places and pubs/eateries within a few blocks, so that was a plus. My room was the largest hostel room I've ever had, so I definitely was not cramped. The bathrooms were in decent shape and I never had to wait to use the shower or the restroom. They supplied clean towels, the front desk was friendly, and the location was perfect for me.
The only issue I experienced was that when I checked in, my room was quite cold. When I asked the front desk person about adjusting it, he stated that everything is centralized on the main level, so there was no way to adjust each room. He also said that the heat would kick on more into the night, when the temp dropped outside. This definitely happened, as then my room got overly warm during the middle of the night - I had to kick off my blanket.
almost everything. staff was excellent
noise of doors slamming but thats out of your control. wifi was a little slow.
It was good for me and my friend and close to the things we wanted to do.
Having to share the bathroom.
Clean and quiet and conveniently located
There were not enough toilets, had to ask staff to replenish toilet paper twice. Also it’s odd that the toilet rooms don’t have sinks. Means lots of dirty hands about ...
Staff were friendly and property was within walking distance of several restaurants and downtown.
The first room they put me in was freezing cold, had outlets that didn’t work, had no hot water in the sink, and the TV was broken. They moved me to another room which had an incredibly noisy heater which kept me awake at night. Bathrooms were frequently occupied so I often had to wait or wander around the hostel looking for open bathrooms. Found a roach in the shower. Large homeless population adjacent to hotel.
