Pros: David at the front desk was very helpful and Natalie from housekeeping was very attentive. We actually extended our stay another day and they were able to accommodate an extra person in our party as well. Loved the hand painted murals on the walls of the rooms.
Cons: There was a plumbing issue with the toilet and it was fixed the first day but the plumbing issue came up again on our last night. It’s an older building,
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We arrived late and it was no trouble to them. We were upgraded to the apartment at the top because all other rooms were occupied when we arrived and it was gorgeous. Huge and beautifully decorated! We were so surprised and so grateful as I also work remotely and it was a great place to get some work done. Definitely one of the neatest places we've stayed in all of South America. We felt at home there and the staff is so friendly and accommodating.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was excellent. It was a huge Buffett with all types of foods. The waiters were very friendly and attentive. Nice spacious rooms and good, hot shower.
Cons: Our room was quite loud and we were in the basement level, so we could hear a lot of noises from the lobby. It’s a 15 minute taxi ride into the city - walking is not a good idea.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was excellent value for money. Some of the staff at the front desk were not very well informed about tourism options in the area. However, the barman/waiter Andreas was fantastic. Not only did he serve you with style and a great sense of humour, he was a font of knowledge about the area . He volunteered on his day off to show us the sights.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: This place has it all: very good breakfast under a glass ceiling, attractive decoration, coffee machine, spacious rooms and above all: style. We felt like moving into another world, which fits perfectly in Cuenca.
Cons: The location was not bad, but two blocks further down to the river would have even better. It is along a busy street, although the insulation works fine.

Hotel Nass Pinar del Lago - Cuenca - Building

AED 125+

Mariscal Lamar Airport is also 7 km away.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable room, nice hot shower!
Cons: It was a little far from The Centro Historic area. Limited restaurants in the area
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Room is nice and big. King size bed is comfortable. Staff are very friendly.
Cons: Breakfast was a bit lacking in choices but what was offered was good. Coffee was instant not brewed. Door bell rang every morning outside of our room I believe when either staff were arriving to work or clients to check in. Hallways smell like smoke as people would stand on the little balcony by the restaurant to have a cigarette. Not very pleasant for nonsmokers.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was great.
Cons: Water in bathroom floor but it wasn’t bad
4.0 Okay
Pros: Personnel tried to be nice (2 out of the 3 we met). Beds and bathroom ok. Location was comfortable for us.
Cons: Beds were hard. Breakfast was basic, not many options. Due to lack of employees, service was poor. A group pf 15 people made reservations at the hotel for a golf tournament. They cancelled reservation for two people the day before, apparently they had trouble with a few rooms due to a flood. They supposedly arranged for the two guests to stay at Nass Bed & Breakfast, they weren't ready and we had to search for a hotel which wasn't easy. Then we learned Nass Pinar del Lago has used that excuse the year before. Our stay was OK but I wouldn't recommend it.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The food was on par with Ecuadorian food, prepared well. Fresh etc.
Cons: Every thing was just fine.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location
Cons: Breakfast, should improve the quality of ham and sausages, they look like they were plastic

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Near to main attractions
Cons: nothing
4.6 Okay
Pros: Good location, nice pool
Cons: Myself and my boyfriend are backpacking in Ecuador, for my birthday we booked this hotel as a treat- rather than the hostels we have been staying in. But it’s safe to say, we have stayed in far nicer, (and far cheaper) hostels. We arrived and the kind receptionist gave us a nice, fairly modern and spacious room. We returned from a short walk and our toilet was leaking. We were allocated a smaller and more dated room with no windows and a mouldy bathroom. This was a little disheartening as I was excited for the nicer room to rest in for my birthday. What confused us more, is that this hotel is huge, with lots of empty rooms, so we don’t understand why we were allocated this downgraded room. I was excited by the idea of waking up to the included breakfast, to be greeted by half a banana chopped in a bowl and a strange plate of scrambled eggs, cheese and cold meats (all of which aren’t particularly to my taste). This didn’t live up to expectations, as we have had much tastier included breakfasts when staying in cheap hostels. I was mostly looking forward to relaxing in their jacuzzi and sauna, to find it’s only open from 6pm-8pm! Which doesn’t really work around dinner plans. But as we booked this hotel primarily for their “spa” we reserved the jacuzzi from 6pm to go before dinner. When we walked up, the jacuzzi was unbearably hot! (Unable to put your hand in) The receptionist was very kind and apologetic, we were told to give it 15 minutes, however it didn’t cool off at all and we had dinner plans to go to. To call this hotel a “spa” is ridiculous, although the pool was heated nicely, their facilities are only open 2 hours a day and we weren’t able to use them! They advertise a pool/snooker table, which we thought would be fun! However, 2 balls were missing, so the whole table was pretty pointless and another disappointment.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The accommodation was pretty well, comfortable and warm. The people were really nice. Breakfast was nice too. Location was perfect.
Cons: Walls were dirty, and the smells in the bathroom pretty bad. We didn't want to use the swimming pool, because that area was underwater because of the rain.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The lobby of the hotel looked nice. Gave us the impression it was a decent hotel. I was not that impressed by how the room looked. I guess the best part was the jacuzzi and sauna. The pool was too cold for us.
Cons: At the end of the day, breakfast was free, but it was okay at best. Definitely not exceptional. Eggs however you want them, bread, jelly, and tiny slices of ham and cheese (eh...), with the option of different selections of tea (good) and some type of juice, which my friend who was staying with me said was disgusting - and he's from Ecuador. I was also surprised to be charged extra for an additional plate (of an inadequate meal, mind you) when there was hardly anyone in the hotel, so... they kinda lost me there. The room did not look as great as the ones in the photos advertised. Thank you, Santa Ana, for what you had to offer for the price, but I'll probably be checking out other places.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was perfect exceeded my expectations
4.0 Okay
Pros: Was close to the city center you can go by walking almost anywhere from and for
Cons: The bathroom was not clean and neat and also the carpet... full of dust the bedroom desk... too noisy in the morning in the night too much light when you wanted to get some sleep...
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was friendly but we did not have hot water. We told the staff and it came a few hours later. The next day, no hot water again other than that, good place to stay.
Cons: No hot water

Pros: Beautiful old converted casa with interior courtyard integrated into the building. Four stories of elegantly appointed space with comfortable rooms, modern bathrooms, good internet and lovely murals and antiques everywhere. Clean, quiet, great location and great breakfast.
Cons: We were on the third floor, so there were no windows to the street. However, we did have a skylight and a window to the interior.
1.0 Poor
Pros: breakfast
Cons: I was bit by fleas and have been sick for a long time.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location close to Parque Calderon, room had a balcony overlooking the street, spacious room with good sized beds and a wardrobe, desk and chair, plenty of electric sockets for charging etc. Breakfast served on ground floor with tea or coffee, juice, fruit, bread, jam and eggs to order. Hotel interior showed it's colonial heritage to good effect, all in all very pleased that we chose this hotel.

6.7 Good
Pros: The room was clean and the staff was friendly. The bed was comfortable, but too small for 2 adults. We booked a queen bed and got a double. At time of checkin, we requested and reminded clerk that we needed a queen size bed. They said room had queen size mattress but it didn’t.
Cons: No internet. Could not get connected. System would not accept the password. The shower stall was extremely small. It was a corner. We almost didn’t fit in space. The room very small, no closet to hang clothing. One chair to put one suitcase. No place to put other suitcase except on floor. The head of bed at window and when opening the window to get some circulation in hot room, we had a glass pane between our faces. We requested a box lunch with whole wheat sandwich bread but we received white bread. The breakfast was some kind of weird ham. Looked like bologna. And a hot dog weiner with scrambled egg. There wasn’t any brewed coffee, only instant. It tasted awful.

Cons: Nothing
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was perfect for the price.
Cons: Can be a bit noisy, not such much isolation.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: We are returning guests. Love the location right next to the park (and one of the best coffee shops in town!) and this place has really good value for money overall.
Cons: The room could do with extra hooks and storage space to put clothes and stuff away. We were offered an extra chair to serve this purpose but hooks to hang wet towels shouldn't break the bank to organise.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Super clean. Hot water. Fast wi-fi. Kindly staff.
Cons: Bathroom is small but it's not a big problem.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice modern hotel for a great price. Very clean and well kept. In a great location near park and short walk to the historic area.
Cons: Breakfast could be fresher

Cons: Only a small thing - the rooms looked internally into the courtyard, but they were still lovely rooms.

Pros: Location and staff
Cons: The machine that makes the sickening sweet odor - way too much, it gave me headaches.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location and cleanliness were great! Staff was helpful and very polite/friendly. Coffee and tea offered all day.
Cons: The wooden floors in our room were very noisy/creaky sounding, every step you took. The noise from the reception area carries throughout hotel. Make sure you have a noise reducing app (fan app) on your phone for white noise. Breakfast was the same every day. Bowl of fruit with a small amount of yogurt and granola and your choice of eggs and a basket of assorted breads.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean , location ,staff

9.0 Excellent
Pros: As always: beautiful(ly decorated) house, excellent breakfast with lots of options to choose from, comfy beds, complimentary chocolates and water, attentive staff. Located only one block from the central square.
Cons: Even after our third visit and after making our suggestions, there is still very little room in the bathroom for your personal bathroom items. It still would be nice to have an additional shelf or something similar because the complimentary toiletries use up all the space on the washstand.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Hotel was clean and staff were very friendly. Check-in and check-out process were very easy. Comparing to other hotels we had stayed, breakfast was average. It has a variety of items to satisfy everyone; the bread was the most memorable.
Cons: It's no really a dislike...more of a convenient. The hotel was a 10-15 min walk from center of town. Given our tight schedules, it would have been better if we were a bit closer to the hotel. However, the taxi rides were very reasonable. Note that the hotel is pretty basic with no other amenities (i.e. pool, gym, etc.), but we wouldn't have time to use it anyway. It may a consideration for those looking to relax.

Cons: I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. The room did not look like the online pictures. The bed was very hard and uncomfortable. For the price, there are better options. Also, this hotel is not located in a safe area.

Cons: That it didn't have a pool. Nevertheless, it's a great place to stay
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Super clean. Friendly staff. Nice room. Great location.
Cons: Extremely small parking place. At the end I payed with credit card and the lady at the counter had to redo it three times. She kept charging incorrectcly, seems she has typing issues. Luckily I did check the voucher before leaving. Wasted 30 min because she didn’t even know how to fix it at first.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very clean.
Cons: The elevator, they should fix it. It’s scary to feel you might get stuck there.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff really went out of their way for us. They did everything they could to make our stay enjoyable and memorable. They had excellent recommendations for things to do and places to eat I'm the area. I was really impressed!
Cons: It is near a historic church which is great. Sometimes you could hear some light, but pleasing music. However, the bells are loud when they ring, and they go off at 6am. We had a suite near the front street, which had a nice balcony, but you may want to request a suite toward the back if you are a light sleeper.
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: The location is fine, in the centre of town. The hotel is in an historic building, which the owners have made an effort to preserve, and contains lots of antiques and interesting artefacts.
Cons: We only stayed one night before moving to a different hotel. The hotel boiler had failed, there was no hot water and the staff didn't seem to think this was a significant problem. Personally I don't like cold showers, but my husband has heart failure and it could have killed him. On several occasions we found the front door locked and no staff at the desk or answering the bell, which was inconvenient but could have been fatal in the event of a fire, given that the whole place is a firetrap. The advertised in-house bar and restaurant were closed, apparently permanently, and there were no staff in attendance at breakfast either. This hotel is desperately in need of investment and proper management, and I can't understand how it ever achieved a 4 star rating.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The decoration of the hotel was really nice, and the staff was friendly. The location was really convenient.
Cons: No hot water during our 5-day stay, *just* warm. We complained multiple times, to no avail. At night, there was always noise coming from downstairs. One time I put a towel on the floor because it was dirty but staff just hung it back up instead of replacing it. I noticed that some of the stains on the shower were never cleaned. The red wall adjacent to one of the beds looked grimy. Breakfast was mainly old croissants and tasteless cold cuts.
6.3 Good
Cons: They started to do some building work at 7:30 a.m.!!!! Woke everyone up!!!!
6.3 Good
Pros: The staff was very friendly, nice and helpful..Also, its location is very convenient and walking distance to the city’s historic center.
Cons: We stayed at this hotel three nights. On our first day, The WiFi was not working in our room, it only worked in the hallway. The staff tried to solve the issue without success. A technician had to be called next day to fix the problem they were having. On the second day, the WiFi was working just fine, but then on the third day, we were having issues with it again. The bathroom is very uncomfortable and small. They do not change towels daily, which I’m ok with to conserve water, but the problem that we experienced was that any towels that were used in the morning remained damp all day since the bathroom had no sunlight nor ventilation for the towels to dry, so when we got back to the hotel in the evening, we had no dry towels. The breakfast was very simple and the same for the three days we were there. There was no variety of anything. We stayed in 5 different hotels throughout our trip in Ecuador, and I’m sad to say that this hotel was the worst one we stayed in. Very disappointing... I would definitely book the other hotels if we were to go back to Ecuador, except this one..... The only thing worth at this hotel is the staff...

Pros: The room was comfortable, the view was nice, though breakfast was not that good.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved the area, we extended & added another night to our stay. Our room had a fabulous view of the city, hills & mountains. The cool & fresh air was great for my son with asthma. The area felt safe & welcoming that the we just walked around without a care, there is visible friendly police present to ensure complete safety throughout the days.
Cons: Breakfast buffet needs more selection, micro & frig should be made available and the door card entry needs work or update.
1.0 Poor
Pros: Comfortable beds
Cons: Breakfast was not good at all, there was macaroni for breakfast with tomatoe sauce. The receptionist was not friendly when we arrived. The room was not ready but she had us wait, the hotel seems to be used for casual sex as our next door neighbors were having loud sex in the middle of the day and then left. The building felt out of date and all together it was not a fun stay. Parking was not included.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our visto to Cuenca was amazing and part of the amazing experience was our stay at the Hotel el Conquistador. The location was perfect we were within walking distance of the center. The room was ample, clean and just what we needed. I felt just like I was in the USA. The service was top notch, anything we needed was available. From the complimentary pick up from the airport to our departure, I had not a bad moment. And last but not least, the staff, the people running, working there is what made the entire experience 100%. They were courteous and went above and beyond! I will highly recommend this hotel!
Cons: The only tiny thing, was the mattresses were a bit firm in our suite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was awesome, the bed and everything in the room was amazing...
